Sotos
As the title says, I thought of one thing that, even though easy (I suppose) for YCMaker to do, it would solve a lot of problems and misunderstandings between the so-called "noobs" and us, the so-called "experienced members" (inb4youareanoob)...There are some good tutorials, such as Evangelion's one here, but the "noobs" are almost never going to read something as well-hidden as this. So, what I'm saying is, when a person joins and for their first 10-50 posts, a note be shown to them linking to such tutorials... Sweetie Belle
I support completely. There's also the Posting Cards tutorial in my sig, along with an entire new member guide. Although another suggestion, it would also be easier if YCMaker made the tutorials section easier to find, like making it its own section.
Zektor
It probably would be easy, I'm surprised YCM doesn't even send out a PM to new members, well I support
вєgσттєη ιηѕαηιту
automatically make any new members signature a link to the tutorial? i support

Haven't done it in a while, but I might start again.
War Chess
I support completely. +REP. Tutorials is such a hidden thing that nobody ever reads.
Zektor
do I get a +REP for supporting :3, anyway I think Tutorials section should be less hidden, maybe even have instead of just activation, they have to have at least read the rules
Sweetie Belle
Maybe even have instead of just activation, they have to have at least read the rules
And how exactly would the forum be able to tell if they read it? It's pretty much like that check box you see wherever you sign up for something online: "I have read and agree to abide by these Terms and Services," or something along those lines. Not trying to make you feel bad, tho'.
Catterjune
If it were easy enough to do (no clue if it is) I assume it would be a slightly worthwhile thing to do...

Darth Revan of the Sith
I support however I have one question... If said note was placed for the first 50 posts do you think they would care to read it... Its almost like the terms of agreement you have to agree to before going on to a website they agree with it but the majority of the people dont actually read it. Sotos
Thanks for the support guys... Halubaris, it would only be one line of text appearing on the top of the forums, not much to read...
LiAM
This, and various similar ideas have been suggested hundreds of times. It's had many, many supporters. It's never been implemented. YCMaker will never do anything unless it affects the actual site's survival or a number of mods have PM'd him. Sotos
I didn't know that... Well, if we keep like this, we can get a number of mods to PM him...

Icy
We will not support a Member's inability to follow common sense. No forums I have joined, outside of SPECIFIC THEMED AND ONLY THAT THEME-based forums even consider such a thing. And even then, a member is told directly in the terms of service to pay attention to it. All forums, and I do mean ALL have the same rudimentary rules that can be justifiably assumed until you are told otherwise. Are you telling me, we must tell people to 'behave' and 'be polite'? Such things are common courtesy and is to be expected. If it is in Custom Cards, let them get errors, let them experiment with whatever creations they may have. Correct them politely as you see fit but don't be insensitive about it. Everything inside there is a learning experience. And if you pressure them otherwise, we should not be penalizing the newbies but punishing YOU FOR MAKING IT THAT WAY. Contradicting the atmosphere that is needed to learn. And please note: n00b = Person who lacks the ability and/or desire to follow the rules. Such PM/thread's are not fruitful for them, and would only waste time. newb/newbie/new person = Person who may or may not know the rules but will follow them and comply as told so by a staff member. If they do not follow into those categories, they are not relevant to your suggestion and thus will not be mentioned.
