Daigusto Sphreez
(This idea kinda goes against Sanphred's, but I don't agree with his, with all due respect). Basically, I propose allowing only Level 3 members and above making new threads in the Card Contest area. (They are more than welcome to join contests except not host contests). Why? Well, as you need 150 posts to host a contest (level 3 or higher) any thread made by a level 1 or 2 member is clearly illegal. However, even without this consideration, this approach also has various other advantages: -It stops New Members posting poorly made contests, of course, maybe 10% of 0-149 post members might make a sensible contest, usually this isn't the case. -The extra threads just create traffic in an already busy area, people have to keep repeating the rules and it generally detracts from the professionalism of the sub-forum. Various examples listed below from the last few days ALONE. http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/237112-kingdom-hearts-card-maker-contest/ http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/236053-most-funnyest-card/page__gopid__4955618#entry4955618 http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/236886-contestdragon-tipe-monsters-only/ http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/236711-card-making-contest/ - It can also protect new members getting harassed and possibly getting neg reps (some people take no prisoners). - If a member with less than 150 posts is good enough to host, then they should also be quite aware of the rules and that 150 posts isn't hard to achieve at all, the posts themselves indicate dedication and might pick up a thing or 2 along the way. I only suggest this as I was under the impression that moderators could alter these sorts of forum mechanics. Either way, I hope some of you see my viewpoint, if you support this idea, please post in response. Support: Thermatic
Smesh
I don't even know if this is possible under IP.B.

Daigusto Sphreez
I won't add support until I get/unless I get more ^ If this is possible (moderators?) it would be nice for reassurance, in which case I hope people support this.. Bahamut - Envoy of the End
The rules of the contest forum are clearly highlighted. I don't know how you are suppossed to help idiots who didn't take the time to read these things first. I'm all for supporting an enforced reading of a general tutorial during signing up for the site (as a kind of welcome to/signing up for YCM - here are some things you might want to bear in mind) Anyone who goes on to do something daft from then on only has themself to blame. Icy
Iirc, it'd require an entire revamp of the current forum settings (adjusting 3 usergroups). Take this up with YCMaker directly, as I am opposed to the idea.
Daigusto Sphreez
Thanks for your reply + other comments ^ I guess leaving YCMaker a message couldn't harm, although it probably won't do much, worth inquiring, though.
