Flame Dragon
When advertising my cards, I sometimes mess up. So, to fix my link, I normally delete the status and make a new one.
I do similar stuff all the time and normally you do it fast enough so that no one knows you changed something, as such their isn't much of a problem. In fact I just did this because it posted the message before I wanted it to. So yea, I have no problem with this.
MarbleZone
And if you post a reply in your own status explaining why you deleted the previous, you're pretty much covered, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Madsen
Whats actually the point of this topic? To reduce spam on a site where people write things? Seriously, everybody who is getting f***ed up about this should go get a girlfriend/boyfriend.
Yankee
As I explained earlier, my only true issue with those rules right now is the 20 minute wait. I'd lower it to 10 - 15 minutes. However, as I also said earlier, we don't technically need these rules anyway. A little coverage is fine, however.
Tyrantking is virtually extinct (God, what a terrible pun), and Yankee logs on much too sporadically to be considered a viable solution, given the huge turnover of the status bar.
To be honest, I thought I was done with ycm. Now that I'm back, I actually feel like I can make it here every day. That's not to say that you should stop looking for other choice. I'm just saying that I can be one if you all wish, as I am frequently using and looking at the status bars.

Ultimately it's a preference thing, and I really think 20 minutes is the way to go.
However, as I also said earlier, we don't technically need these rules anyway. Hila â…
No one's life is that exciting they need to update more then 3x times an hour.
But a lot of the updates are not even based on their life and are just pointless spam. eg.: -Mako 109 No, we go in line! It goes You then Me, then Simmons, then back down to Me then You, then Me then Me, then Simmons, then Me then Me then Simmons, Me, Me Simmons You Simmons Me Me Me Simmons You. Me. Then Me Again. It makes perfect sense! -Cometothedarksidewehavecookies who wants a spaceship? -Halubaris Maphotika Okay im going to be Frank about this. I Tolerate Anything That includes spam. Clearly this selection has no substance and this happens every 5 or so minutes. It should be around 10 minutes as the frequent offenders usually do post every few minutes anyway. I would like 15 minutes or less, however it's not something I truly care to fight for. As for knowing what to do, and what not to do...That's fairly simple. The normal rules on ycm cover much of problems with the status bar. Flaming, spamming, adult content, advertising...just about everything. I imagine some rules are needed, but not a ton. As I said, however, some more coverage isn't bad either.
Legend Zero
I actually have no problem with the current rules that MarbleZone posted.
Lt. Colonel Remo
[s]LOL why not make someone like me the mod of the staus bar?[/s] What if you post foul language within the comments? You would only find it if you were looking for it And why not stick to the elimination of pointage per status update? Only people who really want to say what they think will post *COUGHCOOKIESCOUGH*
FTW (For The Wynn)
I'm just going to hazard a guess, but my guess is that language will be tolerated in moderation. Basically, don't f-bomb the status bar and there probably won't be a problem. However, as for the point thing, most members aren't aware of the point per status gain that I know of, so I don't think it would change anything in the status bar. Besides, points here are worthless anyway, so it isn't a punishment to reduce it anyway.
