So, Damemon came back because Yuu believed really hard? This is Digimon after all, so I guess I can buy that. Plus Tuwarmon sans Tyutyumon is AWESOME so I don't care how forced Damemon's return was.

Also, Opossumon + Candlemon = Broken ass fireball attack. Which makes sense because helium balloons(X5) + lit candle = "Oh the humanity"

Also also, I laughed at the Cutemon/Opossumon "Xros"

Actually, Damemon's appearance made sense to me given the plothole from earlier (that he hadn't reincarnated even though Shoutmon remade the Digital World and therefore really should have brought him back). Damemon apparently wanted to be really specific with where he reappeared, and couldn't come back right at Yuu's side unless his emotions were fully directed at him (which is par for the course with how tied to emotions Digimon have always been).

As for why Damemon didn't come back during any of the other points when Yuu was really upset... well, he was in the Human World. One expects that digimon can't just rebirth themselves there- once he was in DigiQuartz, he was close enough that it could work, finally.

In any case, the opposing team finally pulls off their first majorly prickish maneuver. They've been jerks before, but this time they were actively trying to beat up Xros Heart and steal one of their digimon for incredibly petty reasoning- definitely a step up in the antagonist-o-meter... which is good, because thusfar we don't have a clear villain to root against.

Actually, I think that's what was bugging me. All through Xros Wars, there's always been a major villain we've always been working up to fighting (Bugramon), as well as more minor villains we know the heroes are going to deal with at some point. Here, it's returning to a more monster-of-the-day type scenario, similar to early Savers or Tamers. That's neither positive nor negative, really, but it feels almost...off for Team Xros Heart to not have an ultimate goal to attack.

Also, thank GOD we finally addressed where Nene was gone. I don't even care that they put her on a transparently obvious bus, it's just good to know that the writers didn't blatantly forget about her and write her out of the script. If they mention Zen and Akari are on a trip to America for the next month and Kiriha goes to a boarding school in London that Taiki can't sent Emails to, then I'll be happy.

Finally, we make more reference to the elusive rules about Digimon Hunting we saw in the first episode. Evidently, some hunters at least don't feel it necessary to follow some of them... so, is it just honor system, or would she have been disciplined in some way, by some one (the clockmaker?), if she DID take Cutemon?

EDIT: Final point, this episode had a lot of them. Offscreen Taiki vs. Two halves of the opposing Hunter team. Honestly, I think the writers just allow us to assume Taiki won- Shoutmon is the king for a reason, after all.

About that fight... Why the Hell didn't Ren evolve Dracmon? I'm starting to think that the promo shot with him standing alone and Airu and Ryouma in one corner was not-so-subtle foreshadowing that he might just go off on his own... Or maybe we have another BlueZeekGreymon on our hands and they just changed stuff last minute for the sake of changing it last minute. Dracmon -> Yasyamon would've made a nice addition to the evolution spam.

And I'm starting to think that there's something "unnatural" about everyone else's evolutions this season since Taiki's the only one without the ring of rings... Or maybe Taiki's is the unnatural one and everyone else's is legitimate, which would actually make sense since both OmegaShoutmon and ZeekGreymon changed from their natural color to gold, which didn't happen to any of the others (Tuwarmon being the exception since his pre-evo is already gold and white to begin with).

Also, yet again, did they EVER say where Kiriha is from?

Seeing as he's blond probably not Japan, also the rules could be part mechanics part honor seeing as when Tagiru first brought out Metal Tyrannomon Gumdramon automatically went back to his X loader, though it is possible that because you catch digimon that you can set them free in which case you could hunt someone else digimon force that person to release it and then catch it seeing as she wanted Yuu to let Cutemon out.

I think they didn't want Dracmon to digivolve because they wanted to ficus on the girls evolution that episode, though it was the first time we saw him become Astamon it wasn't the first time we saw him.

Also I just saw a pic of a red omegashoutmon and I kinda like it more then the gold IDK though my favorite was probably the red and gold omegashoutmon I guess that I feel they had to much gold on him for my taste.

I totally prefer kiriha to this new guy. When he's all ahem douchy you tend to hate him with an awesomeness yet this guy this guy is just you hate him cuz he's a prick and deserves to be mega raped with the final xros blade.

And also why isn't Omegashoutmon über powerful? He beat tactimon remember tactimon? The guy who could destroy a zone? Yeah him don't tell me this freaking astamon is even close to that.

Well seeing as we are going under the impression that OmegaShoutmon beat the 2 of them bloody I think your point has been addressed, and I think my new partner will be Strabimon-->AncientGarurumon.

And I believe everyone prefers Kiriha to this new guy, so yes I want to see him Nene, Zen, and Akari at some point, besides shouldn't those last to be able to get an X-Loader really easy now.

Kiriha's uber rich, remember. Wherever he lives, he likely doesn't spend much time there- and he probably attends a boarding school anyway.

Actually Dresden, I got the exact same implication by the ring-thingy. It's also interesting to note that Taiki's Super Evolution was given to him, and both his and Kiriha's were difficult to activate at first. The Evolutions here seem to be rather simple to activate on command, and not only that, they appear to be a lot less powerful; I'm starting to think that the contract with the Clockmaker gives the Hunters a limited form of Super Evolution as part of the package.

OmegaShoutmon doesn't seem to be much less powerful than usual... though we can't tell, because he's been seriously holding back in every fight thusfar. The only time when he didn't have a reason to go all out was the most recent battle- which, of course, happened off-screen.

Well, if we're going mon by mon...

Alphamon = Apocalymon (Alphamon signifies eternity (with Omnimon), Apocalymon is, well, the apocalypse)

Craniamon = Darkknightmon (They're both skull themed knights with dual bladed staffs, it's either this or DarkKnightmon is a pre-evo)

Crusadermon/LoadKnightmon = Gravimon (Both seem to be fairly apathetic/crazy)

Dynasmon = Slayerdramon (Dragon-themed knight vs. Knight themed dragon)

Examon = Aegisdramon (Dragon vs. leviathan)

Gallantmon = Dorbickmon (Makes the most sense as median between Megidramon and Gallantmon)

Sleipmon = Zanbamon (Mega-level centaurs)

Leopardmon = Mercurymon (Olympian, not Spirit) (Lupine themed humanoids known for their speed)

Magnamon = Yeah no idea

Omnimon = Chaosmon (Similar designs)

UlforceVeedramon = No clue

The Veemon-evos are a pain...

Also, Trimage, speaking of Royal Knights, why not make Leopardmon your super evolution and Elecmon (Virus) or Spadamon or something your partner? That way you get the normal and beast forms and I still get Beelzemon.

To be fair, that happened in a continuity that didn't have Yggdrasil (Since the Code Crown basically takes on all of its functions) or the Royal Knights as a cohesive unit. Grademon isn't particularly special if we assume Alphamon doesn't serve the same purpose as he usually does in Xros Wars.

Come to think of it, if Shoutmon is keyed into the Code Crown now, that makes him the closest thing they have to Yggdrasil. I doubt he's acting as the central processor of the entire digital world yet, but give it time- the Crown seems to have all the power of regular Yggdrasil and just needs to be combined with an intelligent will in order to work.
