Wow, the first episode made me completely flip my opinion of Yuu. I like him now, although it's mostly due to him serving as a Lancer to the incredibly obnoxious Tagiru, who is currently snatching away Daisuke's title as the most irritating Digimon protagonist.

I'm not surprised that Dracmon doesn't evolve to Matadormon, but to go with Yasyamon over Sangloupmon is just heresy.

I actually don't mind him. I think it's kinda interesting that he's basically a Taiki fanboy and that Taiki just allows it because he's mostly harmless.

Also, DigiXrossing is back but DigiQuartz rules are that each Hunter can only have one mon out at a time and apparently can only Xros two mons together. The main Digimon in the Xros just says Xros Up and the Xros doesn't appear to have its own name... Except the joke Xrosses at the end of the episode.

Dammit I want MetalShoutmon now

Tagiru made me realize that some of the most annoying characters are those that try to surpass the legacy of the last protagonist, mostly because you have to wonder why the story has to be about them.

DigiQuartz's limitations are silly.

I want that MechaGumdramon.

Apparently Kotemon is going to be in episode 59. I'm looking forward to seeing him in Xros Wars.

He already was, Roxas, he was in Shinobi Zone. Zen offed him in one hit though.

Digimon Hunting is basically a sport and all sports have rules designed to not give one team an obvious advantage, so it makes sense that they're only allowed to have as many mons out as there are mons to fight (Note that I haven't seen the 2nd ep yet so yeah)

Wasn't that MechaArresterdramon?

Alright, first thoughts on the show.

Firstly, I love the art and musical direction the whole thing has taken. The colors are slightly more surreal, and I'm noticing a lot more of subtle shadow- combined with the extra brass in the music now (half the tunes sound downright jazzy), it comes off as really, really nice. I particularly liked how they did all the Hunters flitting through the background as gray shadows in the first episode- it certainly pulled off the idea of some secret, behind-the scenes conspiracy/sport excellently. Even though basically nothing was explained about Digimon Hunting in general, I find I don't mind so much because the atmosphere has been so perfectly set- it's SUPPOSED to be mysterious, so I'm not just annoyed about being left in the dark.

As for my opinions on Tagiru... well... I guess he hasn't pissed me off TOO badly yet, though I have to say that I'm far less interested in him than I was in Taiki all the way at the beginning of the series. Honestly, I think the one way he could redeem himself in my eyes is to ditch the goggles -no, seriously. Even in-story, Tagiru's entire 'thing' is that he's overshadowed from Taiki, and he went as far as to emulate the goggles as a form of hero worship; if he ever wants to try and do his own thing, rather than be tied to the previous protagonist we already know and love, he needs to break off his dependency, and removing the copycat goggles would be an awesome symbolic gesture of that.

Gumdramon, on the other hand, I already love. I'm getting flashbacks of DemiDevimon all the way from Adventures; he's conniving, quick to stroke someone's ego, flies on a pair of inexplicably small wings and serves a far more powerful master that he still plots against occasionally, because he's not totally trustworthy. Honestly, he makes an interesting foil to Tagiru simply because it's a reverse of Taiki and Shoutmon's dynamic; here, Tagiru is the overenthusiastic one with eyes larger than his stomach (Taiki even specifically compares him to Shoutmon), while Gumdramon is intelligent and cunning. Arresterdramon's coloration was a little odd to be at first, but his resemblance to Devidramon won me over; "Spincalibur" just cemented it.

The fact he fights with his tail is also pretty unique, and a lot more badass than you'd think.

Ah well, all in all I think the new series has a pretty good start. I guess it just depends on how well Tagiru develops from here on out... and I hope we see Kiriha and Nene again. (Also, where are Akari and Zen? They don't even have an excuse for not being around!)

Am I the only one that sees a fair amount of Gallantmon in Shoutmon's new form?

Also, this season's already going overboard with X Loader holders as is (Tagiru, Taiki, Yuu, Ryouma, Ren, Airu, Watchmaker, and the green clothed guy from the opening) so I doubt they'll bring back Kiriha. Plus, we're not even sure where he lives, he may very well be on the opposite side of the country. Nene, Zen, and Akari will probably show up though, but Nene's story kinda ended when DarknessBagramon died and she never had the most creative Xrosses to begin with so I can see her agreeing to let the others fix this (remember, while Kiriha and Taiki were in the Digital World to become King, Nene was only in there to save Yuu from DarkKnightmon). That being said, I wouldn't mind if Nene's Digimon joined Yuu in her stead.

[spoiler=Also also, the Digivolutions put into levels based on what I think]Rookie -> Champion -> Ultimate

Shoutmon -> ??? -> OmegaShoutmon (Fanon levels)

Damemon -> Tuwarmon -> ??? (Fanon levels, Tuwarmon is paired against Yasyamon in the OP)

Psychemon -> ??? -> Astamon (Canon levels)

??? -> Opossumon -> Cho-Hakkaimon (Canon levels)

Dracmon -> Yasyamon -> ??? (Canon levels)

Gumdramon -> ??? -> Arresterdramon (Fanon levels)

The trick here would be filling in the gaps. A redesign of Reptiledramon works for Arresterdramon, Opossumon can easily come from Salamon, Psychemon -> SangLoupmon -> Astamon makes sense since Psychemon's fairly lupine and SangLoupmon -> Astamon is canon according to the DMA, but Shoutmon doesn't have anything to fill the gap. I also don't like the fact that Tuwarmon and Yasyamon are only getting one step (Opossumon is too, but she's starting out a step above the rest)

EDIT: We should probably consolidate the leadership in this group too and make new sigs and such since Twilight, Blue Flare, and the Bagra Empire don't seem to exist anymore (Well, Twilight and Bagra Empire definitely don't exist, Blue Flare's more irrelevant than nonexistent though)

Ah yes I feel as if the finale was a bit rushed. I mean darknessbagramon grew super size like power rangers and he got owned by a sword. Not really amazing seeing as he is basically the eqivalent of lucemon shadow lord mode. And reading a YouTube comment I don't think shoutmon should have been x7 anymore I mean clearly he wasn't a xros of 7 digimon. Maybe xros infinity or something to represent its significance. A good ending scenario was both of the titans battled for another episode causing shoutmon to divide his xrosses. Think of it like the gurren lagann ending. Dark bagramon unleashes some super laser and it breaks the barrier SM had he then reverts to X7 then X5B then x5 and so on all the way to shoutmon who then rowdy rocks the poop out of bagramon. And in the process shoutmon dives into the dark stone. They then engage in epic digimon battle and both cough uh digi-blood and right after shoutmon deals the finishing blow bagramon says he did this with good intentions and dies. Also they should have waited much longer before airing part 2 maybe a month. But what I don't get is why it's still part of the season since it is clearly another 02

Yes, it's a total pity that they didn't totally rip off Gurren Lagann; I'm being only half sarcastic there.

Yeah, the final form being a Mode Change of X7 was a bit disappointing. I was expecting a XAll, or XInfinity or even just a mode change with plain Shoutmon as the base (Shoutmon Superior Mode would have been better, I think), but X7 being the be-all-end-all was a little eh. Even so, I think the season was wrapped up well- all the loose ends were tied nicely, I didn't feel like any one character got truly shafted (Okay, Nene never getting a Super Evolution was a little disappointing) and the final fight was pretty damned epic, what with the entire digital world being summoned for the Final Xros. I particularly liked all of the DigiMemories becoming part of it (Leviamon looked hilariously out of place), that was a nice touch.

Though if there was one thing I really liked, it was Taiki's Xros Loader absorbing the Code Crown. There was something final about that- the entire story started as a quest to attain the Code Crown, and ends just as they finally do. Now that I think about it, did the Code Crown ever exit Taiki's loader? I don't recall....

Sorry I haven't been on for a while life stuff has been getting in the way anything new or interesting happen here, oh and luckely I am up to date on the anime now and am still pretty nervouse about Davis 2.0

Also anyone else thini it is pretty obvious that the onld man is going to be the villian, though I really like the idea of them collecting digimon it's sad that the system doesn't allow for anything above X2.

[spoiler=Found the perfet quote to describe Taiki and Davis 2.0]I don't want to be the kind of hero who tries to save everyone and jumps into things without thinking. Those kind of people are selfish ideots who ust get lucky. If that kind of person really exists, they would be truly troublesome. What real heroes of justice need are, intelligence, physical strength, and emotional strength.

I took out the pic and wrote it out.

Bah I can't read your quote and yeah this anime kinda did something right what with the massive amount of digixroses but then they got retarded and made it so you can only xros two digimon and have only one digimon out. I loved the epic battles between the armies. Also I don't really believe the old man to be evil. I know what your thinking he's not a prick like kurata. Because of his partner clockmon or something's nature he's pretty much a good guy with peculiar intentions.

I'm waiting for Damamon as well and if he doesn't coome back soon I might go crazy, I also want to see Beelzemon. Also I'm wondering if Beelzemon and Mervamon are going to have any kids cuz that would be hillarious, and I wanna see an older Ignitemon. To be blunt I want to see a lot of things in this anime that probably aren't going to happen. Oh ya I also wanna see Kiriha and Nene again she at least should be around seeing as Yuu is there and her interacting with his fan girls should be hillarious, anything else I wanna see and am forgetting.

Also are we going to switch from an army to hunter system or keep things the way they are now???
