Barian Warlord Posted August 18, 2011 Report Share Posted August 18, 2011 I'm having a flash from adventures 2 and it's scaring me, seriously why did they have to just go with making it longer especially if it is so long afterwords couldn't they just do something knew or an all knew cast with hints that it is related to the previous season like how adventures 1 talked about there being digidestined before them that sealed apocalomon or however his name is spelled. Maybe the reason Nene and and Kiriha aren't in the new season is because they went the the digital world because they needed it to help them and Taiki went to the digital world because it needed him, and does anybody else think the whole army thing will be different with 6 generals instead of 3 that started out separately and gained most of their forces by themselves, really I don't know if they'll use digicross in the season just because it feels like it would be a cheaper experience unless they used things like the digimemories to cross with then that could be interesting seeing as they're starting with 6 guardians already. A nd the Digimemories have no use what-so-ever since they gained super evolution. I'm not sure Taiki even remembers he has them, it's very unlikely that they would be able to Digixros with them... since they're dead. But how can there be a villain for them to fight though? When Taiki, Kiriha and Nene beat Bagramon they'll gain the code crown, which means that the Digital World will become a place of peace. Hydra of Ages Posted August 18, 2011 Report Share Posted August 18, 2011 ....Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuut. ...Okay, slightly off topic, but anyone remember an oldish fanfic where all the main characters of seasons 1 through 5 get together and argue about who should be renewed for an extra season (season 7)? And the twist is that Xros Wars gets renewed for another show (LITERALLY CALLED XROS WARS 02) instead of any of them? Goddam I hate people being psychic. (would still recommend the fic though, if I could find it again). Wait for it, wait for *Shark leaps* And they jumped the shark. As much as I hate to say it, we really have to give the benefit of the doubt here. Xros War's writing's been pretty good so far, and I have yet to see evidence that it'll fall prey to the horrible, horrible behind the scenes troubles that plagued the first 02. My only worry is that Taiki and this new guy will end up having a TK/Davis mechanic- that is, even though the later's "technically" the leader, he's obviously less suited for the position than the former. In fact, that can only get worse from the fact that Taiki actually was the leader of his season. To be fair, I actually like the design of the people on the poster. Taigiru's face is a little stupid looking, but I like his shirt (notice the sun/moon/star motif?). Yuu having Damemon as his partner is... strange but okay (guess we'll be seeing more of Tsuwamon), though I wish they had changed his and Taiki's designs a bit more to reflect the age-up. The guy on the far right resembles Naoto from Persona 4, which is never a bad thing, 'specially considering his/her partner seems to be Dracmon. I'd go out on a limb and say he/she's probably my favorite design at the moment. Gabumon's partner on the far left seems to have a mystical/aloof thing going on; I'm going to go out on a limb and assume he's going to be this season's Nene or Kiriha. The girl in pink seems like the stereotypical chick, but her placement in the poster and expression makes me think she's going to be antagonistic to begin with. As for where Kiriha/Nene/Akari/Zenny went... well, it's an early poster, the most we can figure is that they won't have major rolls early in the season. I'd place money that they'll appear somewhere and somehow after the dynamic of the new people is established. Final comments? Let's see... if Xros War's intention was to evoke a sense of the very first season, I guess it follows that this one's intention is to evoke a sense of 02. But enough with that, our new main protagonist here, Taigiru. . . he has what looks like a Veemon remake, and looks. . . weirder. He looks like one of those guys who judge surfing competitions in cartoons. Even so, I guess I can get used to him. As expected, Yuu becomes one of the goodies, and Damemon is his partner. Taiki had a costume change, and he's supposed to be seventeen. . . . but he looks like he only aged a single year. SHOUTMON grew more than him. Oh yeah, Shoutmon. He looks tougher too. He looks like he's between his Rookie and his Champion forms, a mid-Champion form. We have three new partners other than our beach-guy Taigiru here, two guys and one girl (There's only one girl out of all five people in the poster. . .). Mr. Silverhair with the Green X Loader has Gabumon (Or maybe a variant) as his partner. This suggests that he's the new Kiriha, especially since Gabumon was Agumon's 'rival' in the first series. He looks cool. Ms. Prettypinkdress here with the Pink X Loader, her partner is. . . uh, maybe it's that thing holding onto the balloons in the background. She's uh, I can't tell her position in this Xros Wars sequel. She looks like both sides. And finally. . . a guy who looks cool in orange. I thought that was impossible. He has a GREY X Loader. GREY, that's my favorite color! And his partner. . . dun dun dun. . . DRACMON! FRIKIN' DRACMON! DOES THAT MEAN WE GET TO SEE GRANDRACMON!?!?!??!?! I WANNA SEE GRANDRACMON! So, it seems everyone else is excited for Dracmon. By the way, that's Psychemon, not Gabumon. When I was talking with a friend yesterday, he pointed out that it was T.K. who punched Ken and gave him the verbal smackdown. What exactly did Davis do again? Oh, he was able to use the Digi-Egg of Miracles 02 are nice ideas with horrible execution. Bringing back some of the older team to go on a new adventure with new people is fine, but don't make someone from that new group of people the leader. Honestly, I would have preferred Yuu as the leader, with Akari and Zenjirou getting Xros Loaders, and this Taigiru guy needs to set himself apart. When you have the first impression of a Davis clone who belongs in Beyblade, that is very bad. I want to get excited for this, but I can't. The faces are being "done" exactly as they are now. Once again, I think I'll mention that 02 failed almost exclusively due to its overly bloated and ridiculously arranged writing staff. Since all we have is a poster, it's impossible to tell if the trend would continue here... and in fact, highly unlikely, since I'm sure they're not going to have many staff changes between the end of Xros Wars and the beginning of X02 (unlike plain 02, where nearly the entire staff was replaced for various reasons). I honestly hate it when people complain about an upcoming series based on circumstantial evidence, sour grapes and illogic. Not that we're having a massive amount of Fan Dumb here yet, but you know, cut the snake off at the head when you can- Xros wars was good enough for me to have a certain degree of faith in the writers and producers of the show at the moment. Barian Warlord Posted August 19, 2011 Report Share Posted August 19, 2011 I'd be surprised if it was bad but my biggest concern is the changes they do make will be bad ones, like whats his with Veemon 2; also the eyes are a lot smaller which could just be on the poster and everyone is gangly as funk, and finally with 6 people from the start I'm wondering if they will do Xros different from before which would be okay with me if the new system is as good as the old that is why I said they might do something with digimemories and find some way to use them in digirocross like you can digicross with the digimon from the digimemory or it can help the digimon/cross. Granted, whilst I am happy to see Dracmon get some spotlight, I have misgivings about them making a second series out of Xros Wars. Barian Warlord Posted August 19, 2011 Report Share Posted August 19, 2011 My only problem is that there using PinkGabumon and yes I know that isn't its name but that is what it is, and the scars are no problem for me it's everything else about him that's changed that I don't like.Plus if they weren't going to use the rest of the cast then they shouldn't have used Taiki, like I said before mentioning them as legends would have been okay especially with the whole time difference but if it has been 4 years then Shoutmon should be old as funk by comparison though having him be a red OmegaShoutmon would have been super okay with me.. I'm almost entirely certain that the Xros mechanic will be changed, if only to complete the tribute to 02. Most likely the new gimmick will be almost entirely removed from the usual Xrosing, which will be more reserved for ultimate powerups and the like. After all, Frontier was also an attempt to move on to something else, and that almost destroyed the franchise. Way I see it, this is just as much a gamble as anything else they could have done. If they add a third season ontop of that, I'll probably agree that it's a rut, but this is par for the course, really. Time for the New Season WMG Betting Pool! Here are my picks: 1) The reason Taiki's usual team isn't around is because he's in some other time period at the moment, and unlikely able to easily return. If he's in the future, the Shoutmon that's with him isn't actually the Shoutmon from his time, but rather his version from so many years into the future (explaining the battle scars); he'll be significantly stronger than normal, due to being closer to developing into the form OmegaShoutmon is normally in. 2) The main base Digimon for the rest of the series (think ShoutmonX3) will be a two-man Xros between Gamudramon and Shoutmon, or a three-man between Gamudramon, Shoutmon and Tsuwamon/Damemon. It'll have a unique name so as to not suggest that any one of them is chiefly in charge. 3) Tactimon will return in some way, shape or form. Just his sword re-appearing counts. 4) The main Big Bad is the "God" mentioned in Baguramon's profile. This may or may not be Yggdrasil. Bonus points if it's Chronomon, as that follows the 'time' theme. 5) They will at some point travel to the digital world before it was shattered into Zones, and meet the heroes that eventually became the Digimemories. 6) All of the other Generals will start off antagonistic towards Taiki, Yuu and Taigiru, though will slowly ally with them through the series. 7) Guy on the far right of the poster is actually a girl. Bonus points if this is revealed as a plot twist. 8) Tsuwamon will spend most time as Damemon in order to lure his opponents into a false state of security and also because he enjoys acting like an idiot. During any fight or serious moment, he'll revert to Tsuwamon. 9) There will be a Control Spire analogue. 10) Yuu will be a shameless expy of Ken. Season 5, also known as Savers or Data Squad in the dub, is my favorite. C'mon, it had Masaru/Marcus, the most badass human to set foot in the entire franchise. The guy punched out -TO DEATH- a literal embodiment of a cardinal sin, cracked a shield that was considered unbreakable by a freaking royal knight, then as an encore, shattered God. With his fists. All this from a show where humans are typically expected to sit back and watch the battle as it happens. Season 4 was a bit of a mess, even if it wasn't totally horrible. It buckled under the weight of an extended cast that they never did anything with, frankly uninteresting characters and long stretches where nothing happened, but it did have its cool parts. Maybe not. I can imagine our guy-who's-cool-in-orange to be part of their group as well. With Dracomon as their partner? Not likely. Besides, the poster has their partner blacked out, which I'm taking to mean that they aren't part of the initial group. Besides, Digimon is disposed towards groups of 3. Oh. My. God. That . . . that's actually a pretty good plot twist. To be fair, I only think that because the person has a very close resemblance to Naoto Shirogane (Less so in that particular picture, but whatever. Here's a better one). Barian Warlord Posted August 20, 2011 Report Share Posted August 20, 2011 I liked season 4 the biggest weakness i saw in it was after fusion evolution everyone else became pretty much useless, and in contrast I couldn't really find anything good or original in 5 so I could never get into it so i don't know what it was like after the first few episodes.
