New episode got subbed and that made me so happy

Exactly what I was thinking. Also, I just watched the episode, and although there wasn't any plot development (it WAS just another hunting episode really) it was an awesome episode that had Kiriha and hints at the new plot!!! =D

Also, I'm glad I don't have to figure out a riddle to have a digimon fight! ^_^

They had some plot stuff mostly how digiquartz is everywhere and how their town is the center of it also how green loader guy knew what Volcdramon's biggest attack was, on a side not Instead of Takato they should have Rika as a legendary hunter I think that would have been way better.

Why not Ryo? I thought he was pretty awesome ^^

Guys, for serious.

The riddle took me 3 days.

Aaaaaaalso, I'd like to have our Game Master introduce the concept of Traps.

I've also planned out how I think they could be applied, but I'm aware I have no say.

[spoiler=Traps...]Traps are what can give a hunter at a clear disadvantage the upper hand.

They can be set in an area, specifically the one in which you guess your target will be in. If you get the guess wrong, too bad! You just wasted a trap.

Now, the trap's utility, is to reduce the target's capabilities.

A trap could reduce one or more of the target's stats, or prevent them from attacking, or some whacky special effect (iffy about this part). Of course, the harder the trap is to find, the better it will be.

The trap's effectiveness would be measured by rolling. From 1 to whatever the trap's quality is (usually no higher than 5, as to not give them an "excessive" upper hand).

In case of it being a stat reducer, the affected stat will be divided by the result. In case of decimal numbers, the stat will always be rounded up. You rolled a 1, you say? Your trap was ineffective.

In case of it being an attack stunner, roll the dice to see how many turns the trap would last. After that, during each of the target's turns, they'll flip a coin. Setting the randomizer between 1 and 2, that is. If it's 1, they're bound for the turn and cannot attack. Would the result be two, they snap out of the trap and attack normally.

As long as they got the target's location right, and they placed the trap before engaging, which is to say at the moment of the guess, they can spring the trap at any point during the battle.

Thoughts, GM/Y?

So when is that digimon hunter RP going to come out???

Well, I didn't get any feedback on here, so I never thought anyone was interested! And I lost the file with the OOC post saved in it, so I will need to type up a new one. I'll be gone tomorrow and Saturday, so Sunday is the soonest I can get it up I guess.

Also, I fail at this partner riddle thing. The last two took no time at all when I looked at them, but it's as if these three were put up just to torture me. And seeing as I'm almost sure there's no one else in this club without a partner, I'm going to say that they are :/

Edit: I've decided to go through every rookie and armor digimon, and write down any possible one's for the riddles. I'll just do one every day until I get it I guess.

So the newest (subbed) epsiode was pretty rad.

[spoiler= Notes]

  • It seems the Clockmaker can appear and disappear at will. Note that the boat faded away as it passed under the bridge, it wasn't just hidden by shadow.
  • Likewise, it appears the Clockmaker is an active presence for every Hunter, regardless of their geographical position. Now we know that despite the size of the Hunt, the Clockmaker is still at the center of it all.
  • Tagiru is unable to solve even elementary-level riddles. Considering Taiki immediately went to get more light, It's highly probably he and Yuu got it immediately.
  • It appears that Hunters having easy access to the rest of the world is going to be something of a theme. Hideaki even brings up how much money and effort they're able to save traveling through Digiquartz.
  • Ryouma can play the piano. Interesting. Japan has a thing for the piano being a symbol of introspection, peace, melancholy and hidden depths.
  • Of all the hunters there, only three had enough effort put into them to have entire designs. We can presume they'll show up again.
  • It seems Hunters have a tendency to be pricks. Given the option 'Team Up or Kill Eachother', they immediately opt for the later.
  • Taiki, unsurprisingly, is the only one concerned about the real powers at play here. We can infer that the Clockmaker doesn't appear to Taiki nearly as often as he does to Tagiru- perhaps because he's apprehensive of Taiki for some reason.
  • Airu is crushing on Yuu ridiculously hard, and it's almost impossible to ignore the fact most of their interaction involves tying eachother up. That said, I can't help but love Yuu everytime he pulls off one of his patented 'Sneaky Ninja Tricks'.
  • Alright, I have to admit, Volcdramon is awesome. Just the sheer size involved is great, though it occurs to me that it's odd he's seen as a bigger deal than GigaBreakdramon.
  • I find the interplay between the rival team and Xros Heart very... odd. On one hand, you've got episodes where they play straight-up-villains (Parasimon would like to say hi), but on the other hand they're entirely willing to team up if they come across something too strong to take alone. It's to the point where I wonder if a Heel-Face Turn would even be the appropriate term for them teaming up, because they're only antagonists about 50% of the time.
  • Hellz yeah, Kiriha. Though I question that he hasn't had a haircut in three years. For some reason I love his conversation with Taiki, it just sounds like he's addressing the fact OmegaShoutmon isn't nearly as powerful as he should be. Him calling Tagiru Taiki's apprentice was also gold.
  • The trap was surprisingly simple, but I guess it didn't need to be complicated if all Kiriha needed was to get at his stomach. ZeekGreymon is awesome as usual, though I don't get the same sense of overwhelming power from him that I did before- I'm starting to think that DigiQuartz digimon are just that much stronger than Digital World Digimon, and that the seeming lack of power is just perspective.
  • Kiriha's certainly taken the lessons learned to heart; despite still pulling the 'Mysterious Rival' thing, he's still respectful and friendly to Taiki, generous, finally thinking in terms of 'Teams' rather than going it solo- heck, he even offered Xros Heart the Volcdramon, despite that he totally earned it.
  • The Clock Maker is purposely putting bounties on powerful digimon. DigiQuartz is expanding and will soon encompass the entire world. It appears the main city is the center of everything. Interesting.
  • Five silhouettes. Two Agumon. Masaru is ready to punch something. YES.

Now, if we could only have more plot please, and less generic hunting missions.

Fair enough. I'd ask how you get a flying train across country borders with nobody noticing or making a ruckus, but it seems like Digimon are invisible to most people. At first I thought it was only children that could see them, but after Masaru's father (noodle-boy not protagonist) it seems to be anyone who's been to DigiQuartz before. I'd go as far as to say radar and the like wouldn't pick up a digimon either.

@Hydra: I don't think they want to necessarily want to "Kill each other," they just want to win. I seem to remember that most of them left because they thought it would just be a game, not a life-or-death situation.

No less than four separate Hunters openly fired on Tagiru moments out of the gate; targeting him specifically too, Gumdramon avoided most of it. Sure, he didn't seem to get hit directly and was only minorly injured, but my point remains.

But yeah, it does look like most of the competitors see Hunting as a hobby, more or less. In a group of the most serious Hunters from across the world, only the Japanese ones bothered to stick around when the going got tough (which makes sense, since DigiQuarz spread outward from Japan. Presumably, the other Hunters have very little experience compared to Taiki, Ryouma, and even Tagiru).

I really like your analysis. And yes, I remember when Tagiru was attacked, but I still think they weren't trying to kill him. To most of the hunters, it seems to be a game/hobby. These people want to win the game, and will go to very far lengths, but I still don't believe they would kill to win. I believe they just don't understand how much damage they can cause with their digimon, or how serious the game is. I also find it funny that Tagiru would have more experience than other hunters.

I like all of the different partner digimon that some of the antagonistic characters had. Allomon and ShimaUnimon were cool because the hunters rode on them.

Edit: Got my Xros Loader from LZ!!! It's in my sig with my partner (:
