Fun fact about Tamers; unlike most of the other seasons, it had only a single primary writer: Chiaki J. Konata, otherwise known for writing some of the creepiest-ass stuff in anime and essentially being a modern-age Lovecraft writer. The Dark Ocean and Daemon plots of 02 were also written by him, and I think the influence shows.

I always thought Tamers had a bit of a Shin Megami Tensei-ish vibe to it, which was always really cool, especially with Ryu confirming that multiple dimensions exist and there are digital worlds in each one. I kinda wish Digimon had a Lucifer-figure, an incredibly powerful entity that plays a satellite role in most seasons but mainly exists as a consistent link between otherwise totally different dimensions.

The problem is that Lucifer himself never served that role. Unless your talking about Louis Cypher, that recurring devil expy.

But yeah if it just went nippon ichi then digimon would be so much more awesomer.

FOOLISH TAICHI IT IS I DAVIS HERE TO STEAL BACK THE POSITION OF MAIN CHARACTER!

BUT! In the ongoing fight, the title of main character goes flying and winds up landing on....

Ballistamon who becomes partnered with Zenjirou and stops the evil Metalpirranomon with Ballistamon X3.14

Hydra, Millenniummon is the closest Digimon to that role, as he's Ryo's destined partner. In a brief flashback in 02, you can see him and Ryo, but this is a reference to the Japanese Wonderswan games, so American audiences would be confused by it. In one of the games, Monodramon somehow forced a DNA Digivolution with ZeedMillenniummon (Although how a Rookie could do that to a Class 4 Mega is beyond me), which resulted in the Digi-Egg. ZeedMillenniummon's evil influenced the fusion, which is why Cyberdramon is basically Kenpachi.

I love Zexaeon's convoluted theory that Apocalymon is Taichi, even though it's a crack theory. Zenjirou would be a decent main character, and it's good that the manga officially made Ballistamon into his partner.

I'd like to see Parallelmon or Millenniummon again in an animated context, actually. (Though yes, Lucifer is more badass than that. I was primarily referring to Louis, by the way. That said, Nippon Ichi is a bit closer to the concept I had in mind, so yeah).

For some reason, I've always wondered how the main protagonists would fare if they were set against eachother.

Let's assume they're all cut down to more or less the same level of digimon combat ability; WarGreymon for Tai, Gallantmon (not Crimson Mode) for Takato, EmperorGreymon for Takuya, ShineGreymon for Masaru (not Burst Mode), OmegaShoutmon for Taiki and Arresterdramon for Tagiru (he's at a disadvantage, but that's to be expected given that his show isn't finished yet).

For Davis I'd say he'd get Magnamon, since Imperialdramon would break the "Only the Gogglehead character" rule. The only difficulty is that Magnamon's exact strength isn't totally clear given that he had very little screentime.

Heck, I'd consider making there a variety of competitions to determine the winners of. "Best Gogglehead", "Best Lancer", "Best Team", and... uh... any other suggestions?

OmegaShoutmon is demonstrably stronger than X5, even in Hunters (the only time OmegaShoutmon has had a problem with a digimon was Blossomon- and that was because he didn't want to hit the girl Blossomon was feeding off of at the time, not because he couldn't break his bonds)- besides, X5 includes Sparrowmon, who belongs to Nene. I think it violates the spirit of the competition if the Goggleheads are able to use resources that belong to the other team members. You could make the argument that by the time of Hunters, X4 is Taiki's strongest solo-made Digimon- but the point of the competition is to put the characters against the protagonists of the other seasons, so I think it's better if we assume this Taiki is taken directly after Xros Wars ended and the timeskip happened.

Giving Tagiru MetalTyrannomon is fine, though. That said, Arresterdramon+ didn't seem terribly stronger than the usual version anyway.

I have a theory on this.

The choshinka gives you the strength you will get in the future right?

So the xroses are stronger now because Shoutmon has grown more powerful and is catching up to the choshinka form but so are the other menbers of xros to the point where the sum now is bigger then the loss from not being cho shinka'd.

Does that make sense?

That's what I figured too, Nexev. That would also explain why OmegaShoutmon's not any stronger than he was last season, he's still Shoutmon from the same point in the future, whereas plain Shoutmon is closing the gap...

By that logic, at some point OmegaShoutmon will become the base. Will Taiki then lose the power to evolve him, or will he get an even greater power than before? Will he still be Shoutmon, or will his name change to match like in previous seasons?

Also, what do you guys think JaegerDorulumon and AtlurBallistamon's color schemes are? Standard all gold or matching the previous form's colors? Sparrowmon omitted because either way it's gonna be the same.
