What I meant was they were killing living things with their bare hands- Marcus just dodges responsibility, as his season does have reincarnation... though the process also kills off the old personality (except in certain cases), so you could still say he's murdering them. I forget if fronteir had reincarnation or not...

Fair enough. I always wonder about Mangas like this- are they actually briefed on the plot of the show, or do the developers just hand them pencils, tell them to 'write something', and get the details wrong largely because they were never told the details? Or do they just go on tangents because they feel like it?

I did consider rewriting 02, but due to conflicting interests with my friend, I decided it would be best to ask elsewhere: Would you give a funk if the hero's main Digimon was not a lizard? I want to make T.K. the main character, but my friend says that this should only be done if I give Patamon a random lizard form. I've tried to use the logic "It's my story, so I can do whatever I want" and that I have no reason to completely disregard the Angemon line and not give Patamon Seraphimon just for this purpose. I've also noticed that there are three ways a Digimon can qualify for hero. 1) Their name must begin with "Ta-", 2) Their Digimon partner must be a lizard. In Takuya's case, BurningGreymon counted. 3) They have goggles. Yes, Davis did fit 2 and 3 while T.K. only fit 1, at least he fit something. This presents another question: Should T.K. have been the leader of the 02 team, or was Davis a good choice for the leader. Yes, that is a rhetorical question.

TK WAS the leader of 02. It only looked like Davis was because he got all the cool evolutionary levels and TK was jipped out of a second Digimental. Davis is never a good choice for anything- Even MARCUS was more intelligent than he was. And Marcus took the Guerran Lagen strategy of combat.

 

I wouldn't give a crap if the leader had a lizard or not. Ninety percent of the time they become armored knights by the end anyway, so it doesn't matter too much. Hell, I once made a rewrite of Adventure in which Tai didn't even get a partner until towards the end... though it WAS a lizard when he actually got it (it was Examon for the curious), so not sure if that counts or not.

10 things I'd change about 02:

 

1. Put TK unambiguously in charge, goggles and all if need be

2. Give TK and Kari the Miracle and Destiny eggs, respectively. Willis still doesn't exist.

3. Have Ken's Crest turn into the Kindness egg

4. Retool Ken's plan from "Create Kimeramon. Kill sh*t." to "Create/find the DigiEgg of Darkness. Armor Digivolve Wormmon. Kill sh*t."

5. Don't give them Digivolution back but let them fuse their Eggs for Ultimate and Bio-Merge for Mega OR Give them Digivolution back but give them a straight line from Rookie -> Mega without DNA Digivolving.

6. Instead of having the World Tour arc, take a few solitary episodes throughout the first arc to introduce one European, African, South American, Canadian, Central American, and Australian and then take a few episodes away from showing the main 6 fighting to showcase these foreign teams kicking ass on their own.

7. Give Hawkmon a definitive gender (Watch the 02 subs, this thing changes genders with evolution it seems)

8. Either destroy the original team's Digivices or find some other way to prevent them from getting involved.

9. Put another arc in after MaloMyotismon with the twisted fusion of Daemon and Dragomon as the main antagonist.

10. DON'T KILL FREAKING MYOTISMON WITH THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING

1. I thought of the goggles, though my real question was if a lizard/dragon should really be important.

2. Sounds fair to me, and makes up for Davis briefly having three Digi-Eggs while T.K. and Kari only ever got one.

3. Makes sense to me.

4. As long as I don't have to use Pucchiemon, that sounds fine to me.

5. I was planning give them straight Rookie -> Mega lines. Armadillomon and Wormmon and have been tricky to plan lines for, though.

6. I thought it would be fun to make that French girl some kind of rival for Kari for my own personal amusement, and having a team of the foreigners would be nice. My other problem with the epilogue was that EVERYONE had a Digimon, which really drained from what made the main characters so special. Two teams of six sounds far more reasonable in comparison.

7. I'm going with female for every form.

8. I admit, this will require quite some planning to work out properly.

9. I think Daemon would have made for a brilliant antagonist, and the Dark Ocean story could be expanded upon. Despite my love for fusions, I'm not exactly sure if I should create one for Daemon and Dagomon, but rather have them act as individual antagonists.

10. "I WANT TO OWN A NOODLE SHOP!" *Big Bad explodes into smoke* MaloMyotismon deserves a far more dignified death, and it won't involve being talked to death or having a giant ball thrown at his crotch.

 

 

I didn't really consider Dagomon, though he does deserve to appear. I think making him an antagonist in addition to Daemon and Myotismon allows not only a bigger conflict for the Digidestined, but could also present conflict within the forces of evil.

VenomMyotismon was by far more dignified in the manga. Sure, he still had a crotch monster, but at least it was by far more threatening, being a psychotic snake whilst the strange claws on his knees actually became arms. It was awesome.

1- Why wasn't this the case in the beginning? Were they afraid that people wouldn't watch unless a Tai expy was the one leading them? This one is just so obvious it makes my head hurt, after all Takeru and Kari are the only ones with any experiance anyway.

 

2- Excellent idea, though it means they'll need to think up a possible armor evolution for both of them. Anyone have any ideas on that end?

 

3- Would be necessary, really- though he'd still be -1 egg from the rest of the team. Maybe he can keep the Digimental of Darkness? Or reform it later?

 

4- I dunno, I kinda liked the thought behind "Make my own partner because my current one sucks". Maybe he's looking for the Digimental of Darkness so he can Armor Digivolve Kimeramon and kill even MORE s***?

Also, I'd advise that instead of dragging Devimon into it, have the Emperor sample parts from Daemon or Dagomon so that it ties into the later plots.

 

5- How about a compromise? They can digivolve normally, however they can then Armor Digivolve while in Champion form- into stronger Armor Digimon, obviously. When they hit Perfect, they can Armor Digivolve in their ultimate forms by fusing both of their digimentals together. No clue about Mega.

 

6- Retool some of the foreigners into references to characters from the other seasons (say, an American that punches out digimon along side his partners) and you've got a deal.

 

7- PLEASE.

 

8- My suggestion would be for the crests to literally turn into the associated Digimentals. And I dunno, I kinda liked the cameos of the older kids in the new show- maybe have Emperor/Daemon steal their digivices to try and unlock their secrets.

 

9- Daemon tries to take over the human world. Simultaneously, Dagomon is trying to eat the digital world. Team needs to split up, leading to both teams trying to take down horribly overpowered antagonists. Also at some point, Dagomon needs to eat/take over the crests of Hope and Light (possibly Miracles and Destiny too) and become Yog-Sothoth...mon.... and Daemon needs to unlock the secret of Supermega Evolution (Give it a better than than Supermega).

 

10- He's instead defeated by the power of superior firepower.

 

 

 

And since we're doing this list thing... let's do MY list!

 

1. Make the plots of individual episodes more complex than 'Blow up control spires, go home'. Have actual victories against the Emperor that don't involve just blowing up a large number of spires.

2. Same goes for the Arukenimon and World Tour arcs.

3. In fact, cut out Arukenimon and Mummymon entirely, or at least make them serious villains.

4. Allow the chosen to trade their Digimentals temporarily, such as in that one Radio Drama.

5. While we're at it, make some of the Armor Evolutions less stupid. Case in point- Manbomon.

6. Make foreshadowing actually exist. Hint at Daemon's existence long before he appears, have the Dark Ocean appear periodically to Takeru and Kari instead of just that one time, have Cody mention Owikawa before his arc- details like that really help our suspension of disbelief.

7. Have Blackwargreymon be a bit less angsty. And have his sacrifice be less pointless.

8. Have humanity actually remember digimon exist since the last season. Hell, the Japanese Army could even be shown making a secret weapon to use if a VenomMyotismon situation arose again.

9. Make the Digivices less like swiss army knives and stop having them solve literally every problem.

10. Giving ALL of the characters a bit more personality would be appreciated.

Umm, Blazing, you are aware that every partner Digimon from 02 already has an armour evolution for every Digi-egg besides Darkness right? Also, Destiny and Miracles result in the same end, so they're interchangeable.
