TAG
Yes, I know that the manliness in Haggar's mustache can obliterate entire universes, but he's got pants. Zangief fights in what may as well be a Speedo and boots, which works better against a gorilla whose only article of clothing is a tie.
Ice.
Well, atm I can care less about match-ups to be honest. I just want confirmation that the game will be made. And personally I want it in VS format.

And if two separate games couldn't be made (one in SSB style and the other in Vs.), I'd rather the game be made into a VS. title.

TvC and MvC3 use 3D models, but they fight on a 2D plane.

Both have HP, complicated controls (the whole rotate control stick and what not), similar blocking, and I know some have supers and what not. understand now, or should I just talk you though this tomorrow.
1) Seriously, the only fighting game that ISN'T Smash that doesn't use health is Bushido Blade. 2) I still have yet to understand the difficulty in taking the control stick, starting from the bottom, then rotating it 90 degrees counter clockwise, then pushing an attack button (punch if it's street fighter or earlier Vs. games). Congratulations, you just Hadouken'd.

Granted, this might stem from my limited exposer to that style of game, but the from my experiences the feel of smash vs. the other fighters is the smash is very different and it would be nice to see more fighters take the smash approach.
It probably is because of your limited exposure. Which is why I can at least use just about anyone in TvC without fumbling for their movesets, but struggle with anyone that isn't Zangief, Rufus, or Juri in Super Street Fighter IV (and even then, you just read off their movesets, memorize the bits that are useful, and go from there). BUUUUUUUUT this is a different argument for a different time. Back to the main point, this is exactly why they should take the Street Fighter X Tekken approach. That way, everyone's happy. I'll post if they say something.
