"Get back here!" a lone security said, chasing after a dark haired boy. The boy simply laughed, still running. He just stole someone's deck. "I'm sure the person wouldn't mind it missing..." he thought, smirking. Then the boy realized he had ran straight into a dead end. The security in pursuit of the boy smiled. "Well, well, Arashi Idane...what now? Give back the deck and I promise you'll sit for a year instead of two."

Arashi looked around. No fence. Nothing was climbable. He was stuck. He had no chance. He got on his knees, placing his hands behind his head. The officer appraoched him, and was about to arrest him when suddenly he felt something touch his shoulder. "It's alright, officer," a voice said.

Startled, the security turned around to see the person who filed the report. An old man, probably in his eighties, smiled genuinly. "I going to throw away that deck anyways. I'm sure this young one could put it to better use...after all...there is something very special about this one. I can feel it..." he winked at Arashi.

Arashi looked at the old man in disbelief. He had just stolen a deck with several different rare cards. And he was practically giving it to him?! There had to be a catch. The sector security member scowled at Arashi. "He still stole! He should be punished!"

The old man glared at the secrurity. "He should. But allow me to take care of things myself. I'm sure I can talk some sense into this boy."

Hesitantly, the security walked away.

The old man's beedy eyes seemed to peirce right through Arashi's very being. "Arashi Idane...fate has chosen you."

Arashi laughed. "Is that so? Well I'm not so sure I like listening to orders. Tell fate I'll pass."

The old man glared at Arashi. "But this is something you can't toss away, like everything else you've stolen for money. This is as real as it gets."

Arashi could tell the old man wasn't joking, and wasn't suffering from some disease. His laughing stopped dead. "What're you talking about?"

"Tell me...what do you know of Signers?"

"Battle! Psychic Armor Head, direct attack!" Astrid yelled while headbutting his opponen. It wasn't a rare sight when Astrid was dueling. After all, he was using Armor Monsters, which were equipping to him and Astrid himself was battling. His opponent was now lying on the floor exhausted. "Pathetic! You can't even stand a simple attack?" Astrid said to his opponent. His Armor vanished. Because he had nothing more to do here, he walked away.

Later that day, Astrid had an appointment with his friend. He wanted to discuss something. It was quite a long walk, so because of boredom Astrid was fixing his deck while walking. At some point, he had to cross the street. He simply walked through it, without looking if something is currently on the street. And this was an error. Astrid heard a weird noise. He turned his eye to the side and gasped. A D-Wheel was running at him with incredible speed. Astrid had no chance of getting out of this alive. D-Wheel ran him over. After lying there for few minutes, Astrid's body started to burn wtih a purple flame. He was coming back to life. At that moment, he heard 3 words:

"You were chosen"

(OOC: He had to die, because in Anime people could become Dark Signers after their death)

"Huh?" The pain from Akantha's body had gone.
"Whe..where am I?" She had a puzzled, yet exhausted look on her face.

"Hello, Akantha." A booming voice bellowed "You may not know me, but I certainly know you. Remember that earthquake Akantha? The one that killed your parents." Akantha began to well up, she dropped to her knees.

"Why should you have to suffer this fate, why can't everyone else suffer?" It said "There are people known as Signers, they caused this earthquake. They, killed your family Akantha. Do you not want revenge?"

Looking up, Akantha nodded weakly "I do, the ones who destroyed my life must pay!".

"Good" The voice shouted "Now then Akantha! Let the Initiation commence!".

A bright ecru light formed around Akantha as she let out a scream. Eventually the ecru light faded and she basked in her new form.

"Hehehe. Signers you better be prepeared!" She chuckled.

"Signers...? What's that?" Arashi asked, curiosity filling every inch of his voice.

The old man laughed. "Signers are people chosen by the Crimson Dragon to aid it a time of need. Whether you realize it or not, you were chosen and were given a mark. Though your mark hasn't shown, I have had many suspsicions to believe that you were chosen. It doesn't make much sense, does it?"

Arashi blinked. "Not at all."

"Figured. The Crimson Dragon has six servants total. However, only some people realize their gift, or they haven't been blessed yet. But I have seen it...the people who will guide a light into the Sattelite and New Domino city. These are troubling times, Arashi. You must aide those in need, specifically one..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I...somehow made it..." a black haired boy said. His glowing red eyes gave him an evil appearence. He arrived in New Domino City. "I'm safe...for now."
He wandered the streets, hoping to find a place to rest. He recieved no generousity. He decided he'd make a living on the sreets. A new beginning. A new life. And no start. "This really sucks..." The place was nice and neat. No garbage. Suddenly, two sector securities approached him. "Verification of residence, please," one said.
"What? What're you talking about?"
"You have no verification of residence?"
"What's that?"
"What's your name?" tension rose in the voice.
"Oni Kurotani."
"Oni Kurotani, your coming with me."
And with that, Oni's new life was already going downhill.
Astrid found himself in a large hall, with purple flames instead of walls and purple, glowing floor. "I was chosen? To what?" He asked confused. The same voice as before replied "To what? To fight Signers, obviously" Astrid got even mroe confused. "Signers? I don't know the guys... why should I fight them" The voice laughed a bit, and said "Oh, you're wrong. You know them well. I think you remember the... accident from 2 weeks ago? Where... your girlfriend, Akane died." A tear appeared in Astrid's eye "Yes, I remember it well. Hey... are you implying that Signers are responsible for that?!" "Yes, they are. They had that planned since they knew you..."
Astrid's rage was building more in him. He was sad and furious at once. "Signers... those [censored] How could they do this... Hey, you!" He screamed, meaning the voice. "If you say so, how am I supposed to fight them?!" "How, it's easy... with your new powers of Dark Signer."
Akantha blinked...
"Uh... was I dreaming?" She sat up. It seemed like she was in a park of some sort. There were children playing and people sitting and having conversations.
Akantha looked over her physique. "What am I wearing." She said, almost spitting the words out of her mouth. She was cloaked in a body suit with a cloak and a Byzantine coloured line through it. She walked over to a lake situated a few feet away from her. Her reflection, was different. Her eyes where dark and her eyeball seemed to not fill it's socket. Cryptic markings were under her eyes and she looked, dark, almost evil.
Then a purple glow emitted from her deck. "What is this?" She whispered. She pulled out a card. It was in the shape of a Heron with Byzantic markings upon it. It's name read "Earthbound Immortal Aathantos Erodicos". She then read it's effect.
"Wow, this is , like a... a powerhouse. A not was also inserted on top of her now black duel disk. It read:
"Teach everyone a lesson of how you felt, use Aathantos Erodicos to make that happen".
"Hehe time to test my power" she said. "Hey you over there, duel me."
She had pointed to a man in a baseball cap. "Ok then, your on!" He bellowed
"I'll go first! I summon Ipiria in Attack mode which lets me draw one more card, then I set a card and end my turn!" She shouted.
"Chief, chief! we got another unruly one"
chief shujin turned around to face the officer "Don't worry i'm on it, could you fetch the warden deck?"
"sure chief"
the warden left and headed to the new arrivals, in that room was a shady gut fight of the facilities officer, "screw you XXXXXXX's! i'm not spending the rest of my life in the facility!"
"Hey you, got a Deck?"
the young man looked at the warden "of course i got a deck, what of it, who the hell are you?"
"I'm the warden and i'm here to other you a deal, we'll duel and if you win your getting out of here, but if i win your follow the rules and keep quiet"
"Thats a deal, what a idiot you are, i'm in here for stealing the rarest of rare cards, you ain't got no chance"
"Who is Oni Kurotani?!" Arashi asked, almost demanding the old man to tell him.
"You'll find out...soon," the old man said, walking away. Then he stopped. "Little boy, remember this..." he began to say. "...In all my years of living, I have never once met a duelist who relied on power and tactics alone and won. You must believe in yourself. Your deck. And...your friends." With that, the old man walked away, seemingly vanished.
Almost on cue, a ship pulled up. Two securities brought a kid, probably Arashi's age, into the Sattelite. The secruties then pushed him away, sending him face first. The boy said something, and then was kicked in the gut. "Trash..." one of them said.
Arashi ran over to the boy as the secruties left. "Get away from me!" the boy said.
Arashi laughed. "What's your name?"
The boy's menacing face didn't match Arashi's laid back life style. "What's it to you?" the boy said.
"Oh nothing...just was expecting someone. You wouldn't happen to be Oni Kurotani, would you?"
Oni glared at Arashi, his red eyes staring into Arashi's green. Then he slammed Arashi onto a wall. "Who told you my name?! Are you with VOID?! How did you find me?!"
Arashi looked at Oni, bewildered. "VOID? What's that? And some old dude told me I should wait for you...actually it's all kinda weird..."
Oni, still holding onto Arashi, shouted, "Don't play dumb! No one even knew I was coming!"
"Your ace card is Hellfire Dragon, am I right?" Arashi said, smirking.
Oni was now lost. No one in VOID ever saw him duel, as that was considered forbidden. "Who...who're you?!"
"The name's Arashi Idane." Arashi said, smirking. "And you, my friend, are going to duel me."
"Now go!" Akantha shouted "Earthbound Immortal Aathantos Erodicus! Finish Him!"
"Nooooo....." The man screamed, his lifeless body dropped to the floor.
"Hehehe, I'm good at this." Akantha had a quick scroll through his deck and found cards of little worth to her. She did however take his Mausoleum of the Emperor card.
"Oooh look, the port has had some new arrivals, those scum will be no match for me, but first." Akantha held up her Earthbound Immortal. A huge quake was felt and a huge fissure opened up to reveal a dark light. The defeated man's body was absorbed as too were many other innocent bystanders.
Then the fissure closed again, and everything returned to normal.
Akantha suddenley began to feel a piercing migrane in her head. She flopped to the floor, flailing her body in all directions. The same voice said to her: "There is a presence of a Signer in the port." It said.
Akantha got up and headed for the port, a vampiric smile on her face...
She would have revenge.
"Iron Chain Dragon attakc him directly" the man life points dropped to zero and he fell to his knees.
"Dang! and i was almost free"
"you played well i was surprised, oh look it's almost dinner, Officer could you escort him to the dining hall and make sure he gets enough to eat"
"sir"
the young man stood up, "hey, you're allright" him and one of the officers walked off, the warden looked deep in thought.
"hmmmm, i've got some vacation time accumulated, i think i'll try head to the satelite"
the officers look startled "but sir your needed here! prisoner resistance is at the lowest in the history of the facility, besides why would you go there?2
"most of the people in here are from the satelite, if i can change them there they'll stay out of here. i just feel i need to go there, i can't explain it, i guess this is what they call destiny"
Oni was suprised at this Arashi person's boldness. He obviously didn't seem afraid of Oni, not in the slightest. His red eyes nomrally intimidateded others. He let go of Arashi and said, "Alright. I accept your challenge." Oni pulled out his duel disk, and raised it. Arashi did like wise.
Arashi was quick, already drawing his cards. "Mind if I make the first move, Oni?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.
Oni felt something approaching...something powerful. He couldn't make it out though. This worried him. However, he accepted Arashi's challenge, and felt obligated to go all out on him. "I don't care. Just hurry up."
Arashi drew his card. "I'll start off by setting three spell and trap cards. Next, I summon Storm Swordsman and I'll end."
ATK: 1600
DEF: 1000
"Storm cards, eh?" Oni thought. "I shouldn't let my guard down for a second...I know nothing of these cards. Which...is bad."
"It's your move, Oni. Make it count..." Arashi said with a smirk. Behind his smirk, something troubled him. Like Oni, he sensed something coming...something he knew he wasn't in league with...
shujin is walking in the middle of a vacant street, "let's see, it'll take about 8 minutes to get there and the boats not leaving till 5:00, maybe there will be some one to duel in the meantime. boy it's breezy i hope the boat ride won't get cancelled."
just then the wind picked up and a card landed on shujins shoe
"Huh, whats this? oh a card "Bamboo Lash Dragon"? this will fit perfectly in my deck, how queer, could this be Destiny aswell? looks like we'll be partners for awhile, i hope you enjoy it"
shujin heard a strange voice from inside his own head "It will be a pleasure"
shujin looked around "huh? no one else is here, i guess i was just imagining it. woah how long have i been stood here, i'm going to miss it"
Oni was interested in Arashi. He had this aura of confidence...of determination. "Draw!" Oni exclaimed. "I'll summon Demon Dragon Arishmil!"
ATK: 1700
DEF: 300
"Now, I use my spell card, Demonic Fires! While I control one monster with an attack higher then all face-up monsters you control, you can't use any spell or traps on the field!"
Arashi frowned. "Aww man! That sucks!" he shouted louder then what was needed.
Oni wasn't sure what to do. It seemed almost as if Arashi was planning something...something that Oni didn't know. But he relied on brute force many times. Why shouldn't he now? "Go! Arishmil! Attack!"
"I use my Swordsman's ability! I can destroy a Spell or Trap on my field to increase my monster's ATK by your monster's level times one hundred!" Arashi exclaimed, knowing he had the advantage in this duel.
"What?!"
*Storm Salvation is destroyed*
ATK: 2000
DEF: 1000
Arashi: 4000
Oni: 3700
"Dang...I'll set a card and end," Oni said, bitterness in his voice. He could sense how smug Arashi was, which bothered him. And worst of all, he knew Arashi had the upper hand in this duel.
Suddenly, a Dark Signer in silver-accented clothing crashed down onto the pavement several feet from Shujin. A figure dropped down from the same building the Dark Signer was thrown from, and landed next to her. He had wild, spiky pale-blonde hair in a short mullet, translucent orange sunglasses that had a boomerang shape, a black T-shirt with a stylized red "R" on the front, black jeans, a belt with various pockets and deck holders, steel-toed combat boots, and a strange-looking Duel Disk-like device. He picked up the Dark Signer by the collar and held her off of the ground, revealing a brown-haired woman with darkened blue eyes. "Kid, I have met Dark Signers, and dueled against Dark Signers, and even befriended a Dark Signer. You are no Dark Signer. You are just a whiny little b***h playing dress-up, unless you truly believe you are."
"I am a Dark Signer!" The woman snarled. "I am the chosen one of the Salquo Wasanchay, the Wolf!"
"Yet another critter I haven't heard of." He sneered. "Any special effects, since I didn't get to see it because you didn't even manage to get the f**king card out?!?"
"Umm...just the standard stuff...it has 3300 ATK..."
"Pfft! Pathetic! This is what happens when you run across Earthbound Immortals that deviate from the norm. They just get sh*ttier and sh*ttier..."
"How dare you call my patron stupid! I'll-"
What she was going to threaten the man would never be known, as the man holding her by the neck with one hand simultaneously squeezed, grabbed the top of her head, and twisted hard, sending a sickly SNAP throughout the street. She suddenly slackened, and the man let go of her. Her body rapidly turned brownish-grey, and she became dust on the wind before she even hit the ground, leaving an Earthbound Immortal behind. The man picked up the card and his eyes briefly turned black before he placed the card in a deck holder with some sort of seal on it, where two other cards waited. "Three down..." He muttered before he turned his head to see Shujin. "What?" The man asked the Signer, like he hadn't just proved that Shujin and the others were far from the biggest threat to the Dark Signers.
Shujin stood confused and frightened of what just happend, he had never seen any thing like it and did not know what to do, "W-who are you?", the man just stood there not saying anything.
"I SAID WHO ARE YOU!" shujin was panicing, he didn't know whether he should fight or flight.
"shujin, do not fear! i will protect you" the same voiced echoed from inside his, and shujin became twice as confused
"What is that noice? Whose talking to me? what is going on here" shujins right arm began to glow bright red, "Ah my arm, it's on fire! What the f*** is going on?"
strange man was starled "A signer"
the strange voice echoed in Shujin's head "I SENSE DARKNESS AND LIGHT IN HIS SOUL", the card is pocket began to glow and giant dragon appeared in the air.
"ARE YOU FRIEND OR FOE?"
The man just started laughing at the appearance of the dragon. "I am neither friend nor foe. I am Desna Adats, and I am collecting rare cards, like these Earthbound Immortals. I've already got three of them, but these Dark signers keep crawling out of the cracks and crevices of this city like cockroaches. I surprised it's taken you all this long to get around to doing something about it! However, you guys are relieved, since I'm obviously handling the situation rather well. So, now that you don't need that dragon to fight with anymore, may I have it? I need it for a friend. She isn't doing so well, and she needs 100 Signer or Dark Signer-powered cards. This is the 7th reality I have been to, and Miss Dairene just graciously gave me her Earthbound Immortal, making it my 91st card. Now, can I make your useless Signer Dragon my 92nd?"
shujin didn't know what to make of the situation, here his new dragon is floating in front of him talking to a deranged psychopath while he's standing in pain withhis arm glowing bright red
"SHUJIN! YOU MUST FACE THIS MAN IN DUEL! SHOW HIM YOUR POWER! IT IS YOUR DESTINY!", the dragon disappeared and his arm and card stopped glowing, a duel disk appeared on his arm.
"WTF is going on! ok calm down Shujin, this is a prank a joke, the prisoners must of put something in your drink before you left and now your high. yeah thats it that makes sense, ok i'll duel you"
his duel disk turned on and Shujin drew five cards
DP
"Draw"
SP
MP1
"I Summon Bamboo Weilder Etrida in attack mode (ATK 1400 DEF 1300), when etrida is normal summoned i can add 1 equip spell from my deck or graveyard to my hand, and i choose Copper Bamboo Sword. next i equip my etrida with my copper bamboo sword, which gives him 100 for every card in my hand, so his atk is now 1900. i play 3 cards face down and end (ATK 1600)."
Desna, however, did not activate his Duel Disk. "Feisty little spitfire, aren't you? I like your style. Tell you what. I'll make you a deal. Normally, I would have already killed you for daring to resist my, in hindsight, slightly unreasonable demand. But I'm in an...interesting mood. I've already killed three Dark Signers in this universe, but they were pathetically easy. I gave Dairine, the girl I just defeated, the chance to go first, and she lost on my first turn. If you can give me a challenge, and entertain me in the process, I will let you go with your Signer Dragon. Hell, to give you incentive, if you manage to find some way you can possibly defeat me, I will give you an incredible power that will guarantee you and your draconic buddy victory over the Dark Signers! However, if you lose, your Signer Dragon, and most likely your ass, is mine." He extended a hand to Shujin. "So what do you say, kid? Deal?"
shujin deactivated his duel disk, and was not sure what to do, he now doubted that this was a hallucination.
the dragons voice spoke to shujin, "Shujin, what are you planning to do?"
Shujin thought to himself in a attempt to communicate with him, "are you real? are you actually a dragon"
"yes shujin, i am real, i have chosen you to be my master, your kind heart and your ability to befriend anyone. i like those qualities, you are my ideal master"
"ok then i believe that your real and this is all happening, ok i'm gonna go along with this man"
"Shujin are you sure, as i said earlier he has darknes in his soul"
"yes but you also said he had light, and i can see that light, he may not exactly be trust worthy but i sense that he desperately needs salvation. i will go along with this man for the time being, i have no intention of harming him but if he does try to harm the innocent then i will put a end to him, after all i've spent my life around those with ill will and have saved them from them selves."
"If that is your will, then it is mine too"
Shujin then spoke out loud to man "it's a deal on 1 condition, i will travel with you for awhile, you've obvisouly got something planned and i'd like to know what it is, i'm not as weak as you may think and your not as evil as you've lead on, i'd like to know more about you but something tell me your not going to tell me. if i come with you for awhile you'll know i'm not as weak you may think, once you realise what kind of man i am, then you will get the challenge of your life"
"What is this? Perhaps a duel..." Akantha's head began to hurt again and the voice said
"There is a Signer around here, and there is also the destroyer of Earthbounds."
"Destroyer eh? Clearly they must be a bit loony to think that they can beat the Earthbound Immortals, and the Signer, what may his Dragon be?"
The voice replied "Bamboo"
Akantha wasn't sure what that meant but she felt uneasy in the presence of these 2 people, she hid behind a crate and observed them. She wasn't sure if she should continue to the port or take out these weaklings first...
Desna started laughing again. "Boy, are you a riot! I'm not evil, and neither are the Dark Signers. But I am not good either, but you and the Signers are not good. 'Good' and 'evil' are simply labels we attach to actions, feelings, organizations, people, and so on and so forth. If you follow a certain set of moral codes, you are good, and if you do not, you are evil. I do not see people as good or evil, innocent or guilty, or even light or dark. I see them as people. My world is one of an infinite number of shades of grey, but no black or white. I am unable to be saved, but I cannot be damned either. I am probably the most morally and socially neutral person you can come across. Plus, there are just some things that you will not understand about me. So fine, I will let you tag along, but just be warned that I will probably use you as a scapegoat, a human shield, or a hostage, depending on the situation."
His Duel Disk activated and he drew his cards. "So, let's get this party started! I draw, and I Normal Summon Tech Genus Turret Crab in Attack Mode!"
A strange mechanical-looking crab with a castle-like turret featuring a cannon appeared on Desna's side of the field, its artillery piece aimed squarely at Shujin. (1500 ATK, LV3)
"Now I activate TGLLS, allowing me to Special Summon a Tech Genus from my Deck, and I choose Tech Genus Missing Link!"
A dinosaur-man with webbed claws and feet, a fish-like tail, and cybernetic armor came out of a strange portal-like machine. (700 ATK, LV2)
"Now Missing Link's effect activates, allowing his Level to go down to Special Summon another Tech Genus Monster! Say hello to Tech Genus Shield Lion!"
Missing Link roared out, as if to call something. A mechanical lion with a strange spinning mane leapt onto the field and roared as well, causing Missing Link's back spines to retract. (600 ATK, LV4) (LV2 -> LV1)
"It's time to tune!" Desna declared. Shield Lion jumped into the air again, his mane rotating even faster, and turned into 4 green glowing rings, which encircled Missing Link, turning the creature into a single star. (1+4=5)
"Synchro Command! Limiter Removal, Level Five! Synchro array stabilization complete! Resonance factor of 99.947%! All clear! Go! Synchro Summon! Come on! Tech Genus Booster!"
The array erupted into a beam of light, and a fiery humanoid with what looked to be some sort of powerful engine on its back stepped out. (2400 ATK, LV5)
"Tech Genus Booster, attack his Bamboo Warrior! Accel Punch!"
The blazing giant charged at the bamboo warrior and pulled back his fist to smash Etrida to a pulp.
Arashi drew his card, starting his turn. I now summon Storm Summoner!"
ATK: 1000
DEF: 0600
"When Storm Summoner is Summoned, I can destroy one of my own Spell or Traps to special summon one wind monster from my deck!"
Oni knew something was about to happen...and this wouldn't end well. He also felt whatever power was coming was indecisive now. "That's good..." He thought.
"I bring out Whirlwind Dragon!"
ATK: 0
DEF: 0
"What? Why bring out something so weak?"
"Take a closer look at it. If you haven't realized it now, it's a tuner monster!"
"A...tuner?!"
"I tune my level one Whirlwind Dragon with my level three Summoner and level four Swordsman! Raging winds lash out, blowing away the darkess! Brace yourself! Synchro Summon! Guide me, Tempest Dragon!!"
ATK: 2200
DEF: 1800
"Whirlwind Dragon's effect activates, placing two Spell or Traps to my field, followed by Tempest Dragon's effect, wiping them out and gaining 500 ATK for each card he destroyed!"
ATK: 3200
"End him!"
Desna grinned maliciously as he entered his Main Phase 2. "Well, I am far from done! I activate another Spell Card, TGSX1-DX2!"
The moment he said this, a box-like machine descended over Booster and encased him inside. Then, Desna drew 3 cards.
"TGSX1-DX2 allows me to destroy one of my own Tech Genus Synchro Monsters to draw 2 cards, plus a third from Booster's own effect! Now that Booster was destroyed, I can Special Summon Tech Genus Metal Skeleton from my hand!"
An eerie crystalline skeleton suddenly appeared next to Turret Crab. (1100 ATK, LV2)
color=#FF0000]"Now it's time to Synchro Summon again!"
Turret Crab turned into 3 rings, while Metal Skeleton became 2 stars.
"Synchro Command! Limiter Removal, Level Five! Regulator Open! Thruster Warm Up, OK! Up Link All Clear! Go! Synchro Summon! Come on! "Tech Genus Hyper Librarian!"
