Scanty&Kneesocks
I personally love Chowder, Flapjack, and adventure time(especially AT). It reminds me of old cartoons the most and made me laugh the most. Also rarely watch TVs but there's a lot of good shows currently on CN (Despite all the weird live action shows? Live Action on a channel called Cartoon Network?) and a lot of my favorite shows I used to watch was on. Like Grim adventure, Ed Edd and Eddy, and Kids Next Door was on. GOD! KND, I used to watch that nonstop. So I don't see why so much hate with Cartoon Network, it's becoming a lot better than it was 2-3 years ago. Just needs to get rid of a lot of garbage here and there(and every single one of those live shows or sportscasting.)
Jake the Sage
D*mn you Roxas! You made me have to watch the Toonami Farewell again! How many times can my soul break . . . you know . . . if I still owned one X3 But Scanty if you think THOSE cartoons are anything like the originals then, I don't wanna say this to a friend but, you are out of your mind. As Roxas said they are too out there for their own good and plain stupid at times, quoted by myself.

FTW (For The Wynn)
Interesting conversation. TBH, today's CN sucks. The only good shows on there now are reruns of past shows that air infrequently. Even Adult Swim sucks now. Also, to clarify something: Adult Swim is meant to bring in ratings. Most "kids" are asleep around 10-11 pm. Young adults are the only reliable viewing audience during late night, so they accomodate for that audience. However, like most everything else, they have substituted good stories and classic animation for cheap "thrills" and special effects. I could go off on a tangent about how kids and teens today have no idea what a good storyline is if it fell from the sky on their face and started to wiggle, but I'll refrain. That being said, I was highly disappointed when Toonami was discontinued. It was the beginning of a long fall. I can honestly say that I don't like Grim Adventures or Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, but they are both infinitely preferable to today's garbage. The animation sucks, there is no actual storyline and it's all dumb jokes and lackluster adventures. Most other stations aren't much better anymore either. Apparently Disney thinks it is clever by airing basically the same show with different cast members. Disney wasn't meant to do shows like that. Nickelodeon is by far the best, but it is clearly falling as well. Avatar was a good show, but the classics are sorely missed.
Catterjune
GOD! KND, I used to watch that nonstop.
Meh, Kids Next Door completely fell apart in my opinion once they introduced the other numbers and the moon base and it turns out Numbuh 1 through 5 weren't just some random idiot kids screwing around in their neighborhood, but part of something bigger. The whole "five kids against the entire world" thing was really appealing, but when it turned into more like "an army of kids, and we just happen to follow these specific ones" just made it much more... I don't know... less amazing, less impressive, I guess. Season 1 was great. Season 2 and beyond... ugh. >_>
Jake the Sage
Now see . . . I actually liked the concept of the grander KND. Tentacruel
And I can happily call bullshit because no 25 year old is stupid enough to say what you've said.
I thought that no 16/17-year-old would be stupid enough to say what you've said, but you easily proved me wrong. ^.^ Actually, no, plenty of people are this stupid. OT: I don't really watch CN anymore, except for Adult Swim on Saturdays for Bleach and FMA, but FMA I have on DVD so there's not much of a point. I also watch Pokemon with my siblings on Saturday, even though it is pretty awful.

They really are pretty stupid, but I knew someone like Scanty would argue against that, and I wanted to avoid that. In reality, they only try to be like the old cartoons, but they only focus one aspect - wackiness - an exaggerate that way too far. Am I the only one who noticed that Cartoon Network was at its best when Genndy Tartakovsky did a lot of the cartoons the cartoons and now it's at its worst when he's only doing one while the best cartoons are considered to be the ones by Pendleton Ward? In my opinion, Cartoon Network began to plummet when Toonami was moved to Saturday nights and we got boring shows like Camp Lazlo. Ben 10 could have helped keep the channel alive for me alongside Sym-Bionic Titan, but ever since Dwayne McDuffie got involved and half the characters started being voiced my Dee Bradley Baker and John DiMaggio, it wasn't as interesting. I'll still get some enjoyment out of it, but I just hate Dwayne McDuffie's half-assed storytelling.
.Starrk
Boo fuckedy hoo. Kids who watch Cartoon Network usually go to bed right before Adult Swim Starts. And, when Adult Swim begins, it even says that there is content that younger viewers may find unsuitable. Grow a pair, and watch a different TV channel. Cin
You do realize if it got its own channel and you have Sky....you'd have to enter the Pin Number to watch. Watched it once on Bravo, nothing amazing.
Larxene
I actually liked some of the more insane shows, like Billy and Mandy or Foster's. Although I can be a bit easily amused. Other than Adult Swim though, I haven't watched Cartoon Network at all for a few years (Unless on some rare occasion I find reruns of good shows on there.) Disney Channel is easily in the worst state. There is absolutely nothing worth watching, and there hasn't been for a hell of a long time. Nickelodeon, meh. I agree with Pika about iCarly and Spongebob being the only good shows left. I do like Nicktoons for reruns of Avatar and Invader Zim, and Teenick for Drake and Josh reruns though, so at least there's that.

The Amazing Avian
If there was an actual way of getting CN back to the top it would be the 6 step thing that was posted on the first page. Now the only way that could happen is if someone can talk to the executives, mainly Stewart Snyder into trying it. Hell, just for one week, they air Megas XLR, Dexter's Lab, etc., and slightly censored versions of classic anime like DBZ, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Rurouni Kenshin. They will see an enormous spike in ratings because teenagers and adults are going to get nostalgic and start watching again. Adult can only redeem itself if Mike Lazzo decides it to be so. Now reviving Toonami is in my opinion the key to bringing the network back to the top. The only way to do that, again is if Mike Lazzo decides to bring it back. He is the president of AS, so his word should be able bring back the classic block provided there is an executive from CN backing him on that decision. Something along those lines should be able to save CN from having to resort to more bad cartoons.

Catterjune
Re: Kids Next Door - The best analogy I could think of would be if for the second season of Power Rangers, they revealed all of a sudden that the 5 or 6 man team had back up from like, a hundred or so other Power Rangers existed. It just makes our small little group significantly less important. Re: iCarly sucks and no regrets - Agreed. I mean, it's a pretty mid tier show. THAT'S how bad Nickelodeon is. Spongebob has also started sucking after the hiatus and the movie. It's just, the rest of Nickelodeon sucks sooo much more, they make iCarly and Spongebob look better. Re: Pirates of Dark Water, Johnny Quest, Captain Planet Wow, and I thought I would be the oldest person in this discussion. I remember Johnny Quest and Captain Planet... existing, but not enough to have fond memories of them or something. No clue what Pirates of Dark Water is. >_> Re: Animaniacs I rather like all the Steven Spielberg cartoons he did during the 90's. Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain. The only one that was bottom tier was "Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain", the crappy spinoff that included the creepy girl from Tiny Toons who murdered all her pets and the always amazing Pinky and the Brain. But it was like an episode of Pinky and the Brain where the Brain was being screwed with by two Pinkys, except one of them had much more power over the mouse pair. Didn't like it. Spongebob started sucking after the movie because the original creator stepped down. He was a marine biologist, therefore, he was presumably intelligent. Without him, the show is less intelligent. As for iCarly, it is scary how it's becoming the best show on there. O_O I just hate the writing, the titular character's god awful acting, and the jokes that make you want to throw things at the TV. Renzoku Kira-
Remember back in the beginning of Bleach on adult swim they showed like one or two episodes a night with other anime shows. I miss Sealab, but that will never come back. CN has gone downhill once Naruto left the station. Nick was amazing from like 2002-2005 with the upick show in the afternoons now its just spongebob and live shows which are the same just different names. Why did All That get cancelled anyway its was epic it atleast makes you laugh unlike SNL nowadays. Cartoons have run out of ideas.
