.Leo
[s]RC-XD should have been a 4 killstreak.[/s] In my honest opinion and it may be other peoples opinions as well, I find that some card makers (I include myself here, but it is not to get my stuff alone seen) have had there cards go unseen and left alone, leaving them to have there abilities and cards without rates and constructive cristisism. I want to know from you guys, why do you think people don't comment on cards? What do you prefer rating? Are archetypes sometimes to much to rate? I wanna here from you guys, why do some people have their cards left unseen? Btw, this is a comment with a question of sorts, there is no "Supporting" involved. .Ash
1. RC is rather lazy. 2. Archetype's normally get ignored. You may get a "these r cool make sum moar" comment if lucky. 3. RC + constructive criticism = no. See point 1. 4. RC hardly comment on anything other than OCG. See points 1 and 3. 5. A lot of people in RC have little or no knowledge of the actual TCG/metagame. If you want real CnC, you're best off looking elsewhere. Still, there are a few people in RC who can give good comments and if you really need to have your cards reviewed, you could just ask them directly. Smesh
Bad Cardmakers: Easy to troll/easy to spot errors/ can make a stupid "supportive" comment without being told off. (ex: help, but bad help) Good Cardmakers: Their cards are normally, well, good. So they don't get comments because there's nothing wrong with them. And they normally know more about the game than the average poster, so if someone tried to help, it'd probably be useless.
Anbu-of-Sand
A good chunk of YCM will comment on a card if the Creator is a well known person on YCM as a whole, or just in RC, or if the card just has a bad ass template, picture, editing, etc. Most YCM members as well will avoid cards with crappy pictures, long effects, etc. So pretty much if you want a bunch of reviews, you need some good editing skills, short effects (that are original), and some epic pictures. Otherwise your chance of getting reviews are really slim. Then theres people who do noobish comments and / or OCG fixes only. For Archetypes, it really depends on how you start it. If you start up an Archetype with say 8 cards, it most likely will get ignored due to people being to lazy to give actual reviews. Start the Archetype small with an original concept, decent pictures that flow well together, etc. and you'll get more reviews. Then there is that whole Spoilers / Page Stretching thing people argue about. If you use Spoilers for your Archetype, people will become to lazy to go all the 'millions' of Spoilers. Don't use them, people didn't like that you page stretched. There's no pleasing the noobs and whatnots of YCM. For Sets, it's kinda the same thing. Then again, if you do get reviews, they can be useless most of the time when the comments become linked to the Metagame / TCG, seeing around I guess you can say 55%-60% of the RC users no nothing of the actual game, but just love making cards (good or bad). You'll most likely just get OCG fixes and comments like "gud pic but OP 4/10" and whatnot. When you get actual good reviews, they actually well, help towards the card. The odds of getting really good reviews though (such as the ones I give) are somewhat slim in RC though, seeing some people go straight for the standard comment for that +1 to their post count. I guess that's all I have to say >.> And the RC-XD is fine at 3 IMO. So what if people spam them, either shoot them down, use Flak Jacket, or sprint your ass off. .Leo
Thanks for the feed back guys . AoS, I totally agree with you. A lot of people have no idea of what the metagame is, and the other 60%, only half really play the game well and understand the metagame. I also did think about what you mentioned Smesh, good card makers that make otherwise good cards, might not need fixing there they are not added. .Nu-13
It's easy. Flaming a troll/someone who makes bad cards is much easier that rating a good card. Also, 90% of RC people don't care the effect, only card's look, picture etc. Seriously, only people who know what metagame is should rate there IMO
LiAM
I'm lazy, I don't get paid to rate so I gain nothing from doing so. If I do rate, it will be boredom or curiosity. I don't rate sets. I prefer single card rates. I don't like long effects. I will only rate a card that is 'good'. I don't want to have to waste time fixing it. -Griffin
Sets over 10 cards should be cut down because they're probably too big anyway. Comment in someone else's thread and politely ask for a comment back. Works surprisingly well.
Mehmani
Go to Written Cards. You get far better criticism and a slightly larger chance of receiving any criticism at all.
