I still play Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Final Fantasy VI.

OK then.

Most of the people who complain about that IRL don't even play GBA games, or simply load them onto their R4s, so they don't need the slot.

But seriously, the GBA's so old at this point that complaining about the lack of reverse-compatability doesn't have much solid ground in logic. Next, are you going to complain about the lack of Game Boy Color support on the DS Lite?

Things like that, in general, do at least one of the following to any given system: make the system larger in size, leave less space for the battery, and drive up the price.

Also, they could just release GBA games on the VC to compensate for the lack of a Slot 2.
They did the first three console gens for Wii's VC, so why not do it with portables too?

And lol at people already complaining about redesigns. The only reason for a redesign would be to make the system smaller, and maybe increase the battery life, like the Lite. The thing's already fine as it is, and just one redesign wouldn't be bad.

No one complained about GB and GBC games because you can buy 'em. Just like no one cared about the Wii being compatible with NES or SNES games since you can buy them. If the Wii wasn't compatible with Gamecube games, however, you had no way to buy them. You'd have to buy a Gamecube. <___<

So since we have no way to access GBA games with the exception of emulators and maybe R4's, it seems in Nintendo's best interest to release GBA games for the 3DS VC.

Imagine how much money they would make releasing Pokemon RSEFRLG for the VC. When I get my 3DS, my DS Phat will fall from the roof of my house within a month, and my Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and LeafGreen will be worthless. Why keep a second console for four Pokemon games? I would gladly buy all four Pokemon games again if they were released on VC, as would many others.

You're in no position to complain if you're going to deliberately destroy your system.

I see no point in keeping a DS Phat when its only use will be to play GBA games. The 3DS can play both 3DS and DS games, thus rendering all previous versions useless. If people upgrade from a DS to a 3DS, they lose their GBA slot and thus should be entitled to have it from VC.

People who upgraded from a DSLite/i/iXL to a 3DS have already lost their GBA slot a while back, but since there was no "Virtual Console" for the DSi, they aren't entitled to play GBA games.

My DS is already broken- for the most part. I see no reason to keep it, so why not get some enjoyment out of brutally destroying it?

March 27th? Hm, after my birthday, but I usually get a lot of money for it, so I maybe can get this. If I do, I might give up my DS Lite. I still have a GameBoy Advance, so the GBA Slot lost wouldn't matter to me, I can just use my GBA I share with my sister.

However, the only question that still lurks in my mind that depends if I buy it or not, can the 3DS still play DS games? Like if I trade in my DS, would I have to give up the games too? I couldn't anything about this, so I was just asking.

Also, $250 doesn't seem much to me, I had to pay more for other systems (*coughPS3cough*),but it is defiantly the most I would pay for a handheld.

Do the research before making an argument. There was an online store (DSiWare), and there was a mini version of a DS game for sale - they could have easily sold GBA games on there.

EDIT: Also, the consumer isn't "entitled" to anything that the law doesn't demand. That kind of logic is the same kind that results in ROM use.

Nintendo won't give up compatibility for the DS for a long time. That isn't something you need to worry about.

The Lite actually does have a GBA slot. Only the DSi and XL lack it. I have a Lite, but I'm still going to upgrade and hope for GBA games eventually.

My apologies, I forgot about that.

And I know about DSiWare, but that is a lot different from a Virtual Console. They never chose to implement GBA games on there for some reason, but now that they are GIVING us a Virtual Console, why do they wish to not open it up to GBA games?

If there was a VC for the DSi, I would be making the same argument. Since the DSi lost its GBA compatibility, why didn't the Virtual Console have GBA games?

I will make my analogy again; the Wii can play every single home console Nintendo game (well, most). It doesn't need backwards compatability with NES or SNES or N64 because the VC fixes that. It has backwards with GCN since the VC does not have GCN games.

It might not be much of a difference, but we'll have to wait a little bit longer for Kid Icarus and Zelda.

I thought about the potential for switching the d-pad and the slide pad a while ago, and I think that should be another thing the 3DS Lite should have alongside a better battery life.

Slide pad meaning analog stick?

Yeah, I wanted that when I first saw the finalized design. But I thought about it, and until I actually use the two control options, I won't know. Since the D-Pad is in the middle of the left-hand side for my DS, I've gotten so used to that, so the extreme top AND the extreme bottom will feel weird.

Eh, I'm not sure why, but the prototype looks really ugly to me. I'd rather have "DSi 1.5" than some minimalist-looking system.
I'd rather be able to swap the slide pad between the left or right side of the system (I'm a lefty), since I don't really care if it's below or under the D-Pad.

I have been needing a new DS too. The R button is broken and pretty much the only games I play on the DS are Kingdom Hearts games lately, so it kind of makes it hard to play. Especially Days.

I get that day. The price is reasonable in my opinion. I need a new DS too. R button is broken almost all DS games they play Kingdom Hearts lately, so it kind of makes it hard to play.

Coincidence? I think not.

I might wait till school's over to get the 3DS. The good games don't come out till then anyway.

Well, I'm used to the DS and the PSP, but I supposed I need a first-hand experience.

That's unfortunate, but at least the 3DS has managed to be more desirable than the NGP for me.

I could live without eShop and Internet for two months.
Hopefully the browser is faster and has Flash support this time.
