Cacston was a large and diverse city, one where many different cultures mingled. It was also a city of great movers and shakers. Indeed, it is the city where the Utopia movement was founded. The Utopia Movement was a large organization that said it wants to “make the world a better place”. It was started in Cacston about 500 years ago and ever since it had grown considerably. It had offices across the globe and its operatives had even begun showing up in far flung human colonies across the galaxy.

Despite its longevity and grandeur the organization remained shrouded in mystery. Nobody outside the governing body of the organization really knew its core goals, and throughout its history it had been connected with a number of killings and as a result, countless people remain stubbornly suspicious of their intentions, despite its attempts to try and redeem itself. The murders were usually of people critical of the organization, people such as Dr. I Knowall.

Dr. Ian Knowall was one such person who decided to turn his back on the Utopia movement because of his renewed suspicion about it - after it had emerged the fatal shot that killed a former close associate* of this may have been fired by a person contracted by the Utopia Movement. The movement tried to convince him to stay but he was having none of it. In the end they realized they could do nothing to appease him, and even though he didn’t take to leaving lightly, once he did leave he quickly grew to become very critical of the movement’s aims and objectives. In doing this he is playing with fire, for he had no real way of telling what they may have planned for him following his departure, because they insist determined critics have to be silenced as they get in the way of their vision of making the world a better place; though to date no one is quite sure what they mean by “make the world a better place”.

In order to avenge the death of his long time friend he assumed all his knowledge and created two genetically enhanced ‘super humans’. These super humans, previously homeless boys he snatched from the streets, were duellists of exceptional strength and prowess that he was adamant he could use in order to help him fight the ‘rampant crime’ in his area and ultimately, defend him from the grunts of the movement. He didn’t tell ordinary people who questioned him exactly why he devoted his life to them, as he feared they might be spies for the movement, but rather used the guise that he had lost faith in society has a whole and that if anyone is going to make the world the better place it should be him. In fact, he didn’t even fully explain his reasons to his close friends, fearing they might have been bribed by someone. The very fact that he and the movement managed to get away with their crude actions showed how corrupt not just Cacston, but the island nation of Castonia as a whole, had become after many years of relative prosperity.

In the vast underground basement of a house in a Cacston suburb was where the life of, as he put it, ‘soldiers’ began. In here was where Dr. Knowall spent most of his days. Down here, he and his sole child, a daughter he adopted, quietly admired his experiment. For Dr. Knowall this involved gazing at all his calculations and scientific formulas in awe as he struggled to fathom the groundbreaking technology used, whilst for his daughter it meant simply gawking at the two humans in their respective tanks, patiently waiting for them to be ready. This had gone on for nearly a year, until one day his daughter suddenly noticed some brisk movement from within one of the chambers...

“Look pa, he’s finally moving again. He might be ready,” said a young girl excitedly.

“How many times have I told you not to disturb me? Do I need to remind you of the story of ‘the boy who cried wolf’? ” growled the man.

“But look! His eyes are open and he looks stressed. He’s hitting the glass!”

The girl looked to in the direction of her father, a man who often showed little sign of emotion. Without saying a word, he turned to examine young soul in the large homeostatic tank. He glared at the child; a muscular boy with short rich brown hair, as he floated in the cylindrical chamber. He appeared indifferent but that was his trademark straight face and beady eyes, a sure sign that he was engaged in heavy thinking. Anyone who knew him well could see something heavy was on his mind. The young boy shook his body in distress and glint appeared in the man’s eyes.

“I’ve been waiting months for this! He can finally leave his cryogenic state. I’ll open up the chamber, get ready to catch him if he falls,” responded a man, still showing a distinct lack of emotion.

“See pa, I told you!” said the girl glancing across to him as he walked across the room.

The man walked over to a control panel towards the door of the shadowy room. He looked around the room cautiously and then pressed one of the buttons. At that moment cloud of steam enveloped the laboratory as the incubation chamber began to open and the liquid start to be drained. Both he and girl looked excitedly towards the newly awoken being. The cylindrical chamber tipped over slightly as it drained the last of the liquid inside and a young boy slowly walked out. At first he appeared drunk but he quickly assumed the strength to stand upright. As came to his feet, he choked vigorously before finally assuming the strength to walk out of the chamber.

The girl stared at him with a gentle smile whilst he tried figure out what was happening around him. The boy, clothed only in white shorts to protect his manhood, starched his wild brown hair as he starred back at her. He gazed blankly at her long, cleanly cut brown hair, still attempting to figure out where he was. They stared at each other for a few moments longer as the man went back to work. The boy removed his breathing apparatus as the girl edged closer in order to get a good look at him.

“Hi, I’m Claire. What’s your name?” asked the girl.

“I, uh...don’t know,” the boy responded.

The girl could sense his unease. It was clear he didn’t know what to say to her. They stood there quietly for a moment until the girl suddenly clicked fingers.

“I think we were going to call you Timmy, isn’t that right pa?” she said turning to face her father.

“Yes, and you’re friend in the other chamber is Jimmy.* Unfortunately he’s not ready yet, so why don’t you two go upstairs?” he responded from his desk not wanting to give any eye contact.

“We could watch ‘the Elemental Heroes’ on TV. It’s my favourite show, and it’s on soon. This week their finally going to take down the evil Blackwings’ main base...”

“I don’t know...” interrupted the boy looking quite puzzled.

“Claire, I doubt Timmy wants to watch E. Heroes. You can record it but why don’t you do something else. Here’s his deck.”
Her father threw her a duel disk and a deck of cards from his desk.

“So pa made you a deck too. I can’t wait to see what he’s given you, let’s find out!

Claire grabbed Timmy’s hand and pulled him away from the machinery. He gave another blank look as she tugged harder.

“Lighten up. This will be fun. Follow me.”

*Will be expanded upon in further chapters as it is an idea I want elaborate further.
*The names Timmy and Jimmy as supposed to imply the twins as similar but the demon that posses the soon to be evil boy requests to be called by a different name.

If you have to be harsh please elaborate. I am probably not that good at writing (and I do doubt my writing ability) so no need to state the ovbious but please try to be be concise when giving feedback. I'm posting this because it's something I want to share and there is a lack of OC cast fan fics.
