Yu-gi-oh: Nightmare of the Virtual World.

"Is there no one in this foolish world that could provide me with a challenge?" In one of the less populated parts of the City, a man dressed in blue and black armor slowly strolled down the street. He had been looking for a fellow duelist who could stand a chance against him, while at the same time he was look for some land he could use to start his empire. "Every user I've faced has either been some snotty kid or a stubborn yet foolish adult. Dueling the AI wouldn't even provide a challenge either, their moves are telegraphed easily and they lack the programing to adapt..." The man sighed softly as a small gust of wind blew through his hair, it wasn't really wind of course but it still had the effect of the vapor-like substance that he used to enjoy during his childhood. Unlike most of the users, the man disliked using the vehicles that they were provided, he preferred the old fashion methods of traveling on foot. "Hopefully soon a worthy foe will appear and challenge me..."

[Kyza Kiryu]

Still his hatred burns within him as he sees Rex, he looks quickly through her deck before taking one of her cards out, studying it as he stands in front of Trudge, handing the larger man Aki's duel disk and deck.

"She'll return... I'm sure of it now that these are safe. But you need to keep hold of them. And i'll keep hold of this" holding up Aki's key card, Black Rose Dragon, "I wont use it, that i promise. It isnt for power, its just..." he gazes down at the dragon, his eyes softening slightly, "...I need to hope that she's alive. By being protector of this card, i can accomplish this..."

Dream Eater gazed ahead lazily as the smoke and debris from her trap card finally vanished. She could just make out her opponent before she vanished on the spot, leaving a fair sized crator in the ground where Dream Eater's monster form had stood before beind destroyed by the Destruction Ring. The girl continued to stare ahead, her expression slowly changing to slight surprise, as though even she wasn't aware what just happened. She stiffened suddenly, strings of data flying across her left eye again like a computer running a series of tests. After a minute the girl blinked and the data vanished from her eye.

"I won," she muttered, almost sounding dissapointed.

She turned and began walking away, back to the city that she'd come from, passing back through the digital wasteland. She didn't look behind her at the scene left behind, it wasn't even clear if she even knew what had happened. She walked for several minute before she came to the outer wall of the city, a hole opening itself up for her to enter and seamlessely closing behind her as she left.

She paused, finding herself back in the city and apparently wondering what to do next. She had been drawn to the last are when she had felt the surge of energy from the time distortion but had arrived to find only the results of what had just happened. She gazed around her for a moment, moving ahead till she found herself in a more crowded area of the city and stopped dead, staring ahead as the other inhabitants moved about her.

"No good," she muttered to herself.

Mina and Tetsu simply watched. They decided that Kyza needed some space, though Mina looked a bit sad to watch him go.

Rhythm took the attacks, then drew her next card, which she held up to her opponent, the back facing her. [color=#00FFFF]"I surrender."[/color]

Vector-A suddenly realized something as she carried Aki to her hideout underneath The City. [color=#800080]"VVH343 I5 U4 D15K?!?"[/color] She screamed at the infected GloMod. Aki chuckled, then laughed at Vector-A. [color=#FF1493]"G0ne! You4 lacl<eys t00k 1t from m3, Nd w1th i+, Ur ch@nces of ge77ing N-2 Ny maj0r sy5tems!!!"[/color] Vector-A fumed, thinking of ways to punish Rex and Blaze when they were inevitably reformatted.

"Kid. I'm sorry for what I did. I...I only meant to capture her. I didn't think it would infect her...I thought viruses could choose whether or not to infect AI's and people..." Rex threw his deck and his Identity Disk on the ground infront of Kyza, Mina and Trudge. "If you don't believe me...Go ahead. Destroy my Identity Disk, destroy my deck. I don't care anymore..." Rex sat down on the ground, and prepared to shut down with these final words, "Do whatever you want with me...But I have one request of you. When Blaze is rebuilt, tell him that I want him to tell you everything he knows about Vector-A. He always does stuff if you tell him I want him to do it." Rex then began to slowly shut down to recharge.

[Kyza Kiryu]

Kyza glares coldly at the robot on the ground, his voice a low, dangerous whisper.

"....I hope he gets derazzed...." And with a snarl, obviously trying to hide more words of hatred he wanted to say, he moves off, breaking his larger rod in two as his light cycle forms around him, the same eerie glow showing on his light cycle as on his clothing, fuelled by dark rage. He glanced to one of the rear-view mirrors, catching a glimpse of his burning eyes behind his shades as he looks to Aki's Identity Disk, looking at it, "Aki...." All he whispers as he hurtles on, away, anywhere, shouldering his self-assigned tasks alone...

Tetsu walked over to the sleeping Rex and handcuffed him personally. A pair of V-Sec officers picked him up and put him in a transport. [color=#FF0000]"Honey, I'm taking him to HQ for questioning. Let me know when his pal comes around."[/color] Mina nodded and turned to Kyza. [color=#0000CD]"This violates several regulations, but I am letting you hold onto that Disc. Aki is effectively useless to Vector-A without her Disc, which grants her her GloMod powers. In fact..."[/color] Mina pulled up a display and punched in a few commands. [color=#0000CD]"I have decided to deputize you as a Mod. Now you will receive any support you need. Take care of Aki's Disc."[/color] What Kyza didn't realize yet was that Mina had a plan for him...

Kyza feels something inside of him shift, unaware its just the mod privilages being uploaded to him, he tucks the disk safely away, looking to Mina with his still firm look.

"Wish I'd met you and your husband on better terms... you seem like good people" He revs his engine a few times, getting ready to pull away, "You need me, you know where to find me..."

In truth, he was thankful Mina had spoken to him, helped him to focus his thoughts to reign in the anger a little, but still he was furious. He turns to look back to her, "I need to know... is there a place I can relax? Or somewhere I can rest in this place? Aki still hadn't told me everything..." his brow furrowing again as he has to mention Aki once more

Rex, even though he had shut down to recharge, could still hear and feel things, as if he was a regular sleeping human. He started to wake up about halfway through the drive to the V-Sec HQ. "Huh? Where am I?" He noticed the handcuffs on his wrists and sighed. "Of course. I had to decide to recharge in front of V-Sec officers." Rex banged the handcuffs on his head. "Ow...These obivously are made to withstand any kind of force...AH GEEZE! I LEFT MY DECK AND IDENTITY DISK AT THE PLACE I DECIDED TO RECHARGE AT!" Rex started banging his head on the handcuffs, muttering "Stupid. I am so stupid!"

Mina replied. [color=#0000CD]"You ask, I will answer. First off, sleeping and eating are merely aesthetic actions now. Your body is in cyro-stasis, meaning it doesn't need to rest or eat. You can still sleep or eat, and receive the same experiences, but you don't necessarily have to. However, most people do out of habit. It makes things still feel...normal...But you won't get tired or hungry or thirsty here. However, if you want to just chill, there is a club about three blocks east of here. Rhythm Algo's performing tonight. Great MP3 program. Terrible duelist with a Music-themed deck. 203 losses, 4 draws, 1 win. Hmm...make that 204 losses..."[/color]

Rex continued banging his head against the handcuffs, but eventually he calmed down. "Ok, Rex...Calm down...Everything will be OK...These people are the good guys...They are here to stop Vector-A, not help her. They want your help in locating Vector-A, and hopefully that girl that was with the kid that I gave the girl's Identity disk and deck to's friend along with her...They are currently rebuilding Blaze as you talk to yourself...They just want your help...And cooperation...." Rex began talking to himself, worrying what might happen to him.

Iris blinked. "You surrender?" she repeated, feeling disappointed at the somewhat anti-climactic result. "Well, okay," she said, the holograms of the duel fading away meaninglessly. "Well, thanks for the duel," she said, managing a smile despite the weight of disappointment. Evidently Rhythm wasn't a challenge, and from the cards she had seen, this was not that much of a surprise in the end. Two of them had just been Normal monsters, after all.

She stretched her arms for a moment, and looked around. "I suppose you're going on about now anyway."

Rhythm just broke down and started crying. [color=#00FFFF]"Go ahead! Laugh at me! It's not my fault I can't seem to get any better at this! My mother was a copy of [i]Dance Dance Revolution Super Special Awesome Fun Time Go![/i] and my father was a program used to make people sound like pitch perfect robots! I really only know how to play good songs and make miso soup! Every time I try to make a better deck, I just put in cards I like, and I usually end up with more or less the same deck! The most powerful card I have is Musician King! And I couldn't come up with a good strategy to save my life!!!"[/color] She continued to wail and moan and sob.

"Thanks Mina" Kyza gives a faint nod to her as he pulls away, listening to what she said. Performance by Rhythm Algo at the club 3 blocks east....

He cruises along, a thousand thoughts running through his head. Knowing he didnt have to leave comforted him. He wouldnt feel right leaving this world without Aki, and if he did what would he do? Sit and stare at her in the tube, not knowing what her mind was going through? The thought made his heart sink deeper. Like it or not, he was in here now for the long haul.

He pulls up just outside the club Mina mentioned, having a quick look at it. It was a pretty decent club, not the type he went to usually but he needed to relax as he steps inside, raising a brow at the crowd moving away from something. He goes to look, and frowns.

"...just missed a duel... needed something to take my mind off these thoughts..."

A passing program chuckles, "wasnt a long duel pal, you'd be thinking those thoughts quickly again"

Kyza frowns, before looking towards the duelists. (Iris and Rhythm)

Rex started pacing, then began to bang his head against the wall. "Ow...Ow...Ow...Ow...Ow...Ow...OW!" "Ok...Seems they don't even notice me banging my head against the wall..." He mumbled, then sighed. "If only Blaze were here...He'd be able to get me out of here...Speaking of which, I hope Blaze is ok..." Rex sat back down, sighing. "I need to get out of here...Vector-A...Viruses...All that sort of stuff...That's what V-Sec is here to stop...I...I'm the reason that kid's friend is infected...I'm the reason that the entire place I caused chaos at got wiped out. I...Why was I even created in the first place?" Rex sighed, and shut down for the rest of the drive to V-Sec HQ.

Iris winced. Somehow the MP3 program breaking into sobs was not what she imagined would happen as a result of their duel. On the other hand, the fact DDR had gotten so many sequels as to have gotten such an absurd title was forcing her to fight a laugh with all her might, especially since Rhythm would undoubtedly either be offended about the reason for amusement, or because if she did laugh, it WOULD sound like she was laughing about the less-than-stellar performance.

She brushed her hair from her eyes and searched her mind desperately for something to say. It really was hard to comfort someone whose cards clearly weren't good, and because of that, the dueling was nothing too good, either. Iris never cared much for the theory of "better cards=better duelist", but it's hard to argue against blunt evidence.

"It's okay," she said lamely. "A duel's still a duel, and it was a good way to drop a few minutes..." [i]I'm hopeless at comforting people.[/i]

"Future Fusion"

Kyza says the words quite clearly, as though they made the most sense in the world. His hands in his pockets, he carefully approached Rhythm and Iris. He stands at 6 foot 1, made taller by the cowbot style shoes on his feet. He wears a long flowing duster with no sleeves in it, and no sleeves in his shirt leaving his arms exposed, and an unusual rose symbol on his chest. Tall, lean and pale but with large wrap-around shades covering his eyes and long burgendy hair falling down to his waist with a long, spiked fringe, Kyza Kiryu stood there, glancing between the two ladies.

"If you say Musician King is one of your best monsters, then use Future Fusion in your deck. Makes summoning him easier."

Though he looks a bit lone-wolfish, with the holster on his hip like some cheesy cyber gunslinger, Kyza's voice is relatively soft, obviously having calmed down by now. Indeed, even the markings on his clothes, the circuitry lines, had mellowed back to their original burgendy. He gives a wave of one of his hands, wearing fingerless leather gloves.

"Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt, just couldn't NOT hear what the lady was saying." motioning to Rhythm, "I'm Kyza Kiryu."

Rex mumbled, and woke up. "Ok...I need to get some sort of attention since I can't tell if we're there or not...I know! I'll act like a virus!" [color="purple"] "F001s! V#370r-@ w1l1 fr## m#!" [/color] Rex grinned and began slamming into the walls of the vehicle. [color="purple"] "F001i5h HUm@9s! R#l#@s@ m#!" [/color] Rex continued slamming into the walls, hoping his plan to get attention drawn to himself would work. [color="purple"] "RE1L#@Se M#h! 0r #1Se!" [/color] Rex continued slamming into the walls, only much harder this time, so the vehicle shook a bit. He wondered if his plan would work.

[The Warden]

Sigma grinned as she held her new deck in her hands, they still had that new card smell. But what about the Black Serenade? Surely they would need a new owner to continue their musical tradition. Conveniantly, during her session on the evolution of the Virtual World, she had heard of a musical duelist, she would be perfect for the task. Sigma couldn't help but grin as she retrieved her deck and flipped out.

She flipped back in just a few feet away from the trio. 'I am here to see Rhythm' she announced loudly.

Rhythm looked up at Kyza, Iris, and, for some reason, Chief Administrator Sigma. [color=#00FFFF]"Lady Sigma!"[/color] Rhythm gasped. [color=#00FFFF]"What are you doing here?!? Are you going to derez me?!? I'm sorry my library fines are a bit overdue, but I'll pay them ASAP! I will also pay that speeding ticket I got the other day! I was going to put it off until the last picocycle, but I will get right on it! Please, I'm not obsolete yet!!!"[/color]

The transport stopped and Tetsu went inside with a couple of guards. [color=#FF0000]"First, you are the worst impersonator of a virus ever. You just sound like a drunk hillbilly, trying to make your voice distorted. Just shut up and stop trying to tip over the vehicle."[/color] He closed the doors and the transport started moving again.

[Kyza Kiryu]

Kyza sighed heavily, looking between Sigma and Rhythm, before pointing a finger at Rhythm, "Rhythm Algo?" he questions. This weeping, terrified woman was the performer Mina had told him about? But then he remembered Mina's list of Rhythm's duel record and put the pieces together, glancing over his shoulder to Sigma.

"Calm down, nobody's derezzing anybody..." He rises himself up, turning now to look at Sigma as she ohhers Rhythm the new deck, almost as if on cue... it was too well timed for Kyza, now seeking an answer to the question left unanswered, now time to vocalise it;

"Why?" A stern look on his face as he asks this, not threatening but he was tired and had seen a lot of violence today including towards someone he held very dear, and he would be grateful if no more would occur

Sigma watched Rhythm's bizzare tirade. [i]'The strange thing is, I expected this to happen'[/i] she thought. She raised her hands comfortingly on Rhythm. She released her once she calmed down. 'No, I'm not here for any of that junk. I'm here on a delivery of sorts. Ya see, I'm going to be very busy for a while, so I need someone to hold onto my deck. Frankly, I find you the best candidate for my Black Serenade deck as you are yourself, a music duelist' she explained. She held up the deck and offered it to Rhythm.

Rhythm was pretty stunned, especially as she thumbed through the deck, looking at all of the powerful cards. [color=#00FFFF]"Chief Administrator, why are you giving me your deck? I'm just a good MP3 program, with a more or less average ability to make miso soup! I'm not worthy of such a wondrous gift! Plus, I have no idea how to use it properly!"[/color] She started sobbing again.

[color=#9ACD32]"Even if Sigma helps us, she won't do anything about Trihsder! He will destroy the tramway once we are done! He sees us as nothing but scum! It's time to go on the offensive, even if V-Sec gets caught in the crossfire!"[/color]

Entering the district that housed the club in which Sigma and the others were currently housed, the man held his hand to his chin and pondered, wondering if he could actually start his crusade in the very district he stood in. //I know for a fact there is a club in this district, I can probably find the owner of it, if there is a owner. Either way I doubt it would be a issue for someone of my calibur to simple strole in and take over the place, I could turn it into a building of operations....//

With his thoughts rambling on the man slowly strolled towards the club, eventually stepping through the door. As he entered he took a quick look around, taking in the number of AIs and users he would probably have to deal with. //By the look of things this should be easier then I thought...//

[The Warden]

Sigma chuckled and leaned in lose, only to whisper 'don't worry, they will guide you'. 'Well, I have business to attend to, good bye' she said and flipped out.

She flipped back in her sanctuary, preparing for the next phase of her plan. She checked the computer, which had finally prepared her synchro cards. 'Let's see, Eugaia, Progaia, Disgaia, Negaia and Trugaia...perfect' she said. She added them to her deck, checking her next plan. 'Thank god for a lack of trust, that sound file of Zarkus will be useful' she said as a virtual console materialised before her. She typed hastily, before hitting the enter key. A five minute ocuntdown appeared on her console, that was all the time she needed. Witht he sound file, she flipped again.

She appeared in a desolate part of the Virtual World, a Head Admin only area to boot. Before her stood a large temple of sorts, two huge locks guarded the gate. 'Dulce et decorum est, pro patria mori' she declared. She played the sound file of Zarkus' voice. The locks clicked open and she rna inside the temple, down a spiraling staircase into an open area with several doors. She said her piece and Zarkus' opening the first door and running inside. She grabbed the ritual cards of the legendary dragons, along with Legend of Heart, the Legendary Knights and finally the Knight of Destiny. She left hastily to continue on to the next vault, where she obtained the Wicked Gods. She then left, with only one and a half minutes to spare. She flipped back to her sanctuary, things were going well.
