darth maul is more of a zealot and darth vader is more of a wizard. if the two duked it out vader would probably win before maul got close.
but you know there is star killer from the force unleashed and he's just bull... i mean he took down an entire star destroyer with the force and disinigrated like 30 storm troopers in one go plus he is skilled enough to duel weild light sabers. He lived after getting stabbed and thrown out into space.

Well, even though Vader has mastery of the Force, his lightsaber skills would be severly minimized due to his life support suit and robotics. So, I think it would be a close fight. But Maul wouldn't really be able to get close enough to do any damage if Vader took advantage of his Force powers, so Im going with Vader.

Everyone does know that Maul is only an Apprentice? No way near Sith Lord. That why he got killed by a Padawan. Duh. Idiot Sith get no were.

But he DID kill a Jedi Master. He might've gotten a promotion- ya know, if he survived.

You should take into account the rule of two which was established by Darth Bane. Bane made that rule so that there would be much less infighting among the Sith since only a few would have the title of Sith Lord. The Rule of Two made it so that there was never more than two Sith, both lords. The master possesses great power and passes it on to his apprentice who will one day overthrow him then take an apprentice of his own. That being clarified BOTH Vader and Maul are Sith Lords. And even though he killed a master, Maul would not have been promoted because in order to keep the rule going, the apprentice has to defeat his master in a duel.
Okay, now on combat skill, from what the moves revealed, Maul was a very good swordsman, he was able to take on two Jedi at once and kill Qui Gon Jinn. He was killed by Obi Wan almost immediately afterward, but he was sort of take by surprise there, and he plain owned Obi Wan for most of the fight so he is actually a very good fighter, his knowledge of the Force was not shown entirely because the fight didn't show him using the Force much, I'll just assume he was pretty much on par with Assajj Ventress in terms of Force capabilities.
Now Vader was crippled after the incident on Mustafar, he was rebuilt, but he still lacks the agility he had with his natural body, giving Maul and advantage over him in terms of lightsaber skill, but he has far surpassed even Sidious in terms of his ability with the Force. That being the case, if Maul can get him in a close quarters duel, he would undoubtedly have the advantage, but if Vader can get distance between them, Maul had better be able to breathe through a crushed trachea.
I personally think that Maul can beat Vader in a duel, but he would probably need a new hand since the series is well known for disarming people.

God, I am such a geek.

I know of the rule of two. Which is stupid. Rule of One is better.

Now. Every sith can take on 2 jedi's at once. Even more. Due to that they are stronger thant he Jedi. And Always will be.
