Felix Culpa
Hello, all, and welcome to the OFFICIAL YCM Pokémon Scarlet Thread. What is Pokémon Scarlet, you may be asking yourself? Pokémon Scarlet is an independent Pokémon ROM Hack coded and mapped by, myself, Felix Culpa. It takes place over one spiffy new region, known as the Shanxi region. You will battle the infamous Team Rocket and eight shiny new gyms as you traverse this new region, larger than any before. Special Additions: - Johto Starters. I mean, who doesn't love a nice hot Cyndaquil? - All 386 Pokemon will be available IN GAME! Through special occurrences in the game, you will be able to get in one way or another all of the Generation III Pokemon. - Some old friends will join up with you, winkwinknudgenudge, and maybe even a Rival from Regions past... However, I can't do this on my own. As always, a hack is a collaborative work and I need Spriters for the Overworld and in-game. Private Message me if you want details on what this will entail! Felix Culpa
I'm using a FireRed Base. All nice and clean and 100x better tiles than Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

Felix Culpa
I'm thinking about constructing a team, as all the mapping and scripting do tend to tire me. So I need some talented, and I mean talented, mappers, scripters, and spriters with LOTS of free time.

Tourmaline
Uh huh. The only thing I can do of those is mainly spriting, but I'm not exactly professional at it.

claude_c_kenny
I'd love to play this when it's done, however, I haven't tried hacking a pokemon game yet, so I wouldn't be able to help.

Tourmaline
Alright. Just saw this post tonight. I'll get to it soon. Nothing after tomorrow night, though. Things seem t'be getting tense around here. I'll work on it, anyways. But, uhh.... http://s906.photobucket.com/albums/ac262/Bidoof/?start=all Did a few Paper Mario styled things last year. The one with the pink background isn't mine, though. Katsuragi Keima's motivational image definitely isn't my work, either. Neither is the Quetzacoatl. I know the Pokemon spriting and such is a LOT different from Paper Mario's, but I suppose this is to prove I'm not lying when I said I could help a bit. Nor when I said I wasn't really professional level.
Felix Culpa
Oh, hey guys, I've decided something else. In every area where Wild Pokémon are catchable, you can find one species of really rare higher-than-average level Pokémon, like say a level 4-6 skitty on Route 1 or an Aipom in the Rouge Forest.
How rare? Without extreme levels of ASM hacking, you could make the encounter ratio 1%, 2%, 5%, 6%, 7%, 10%, 11% 12%, and plenty of higher combination that don't really count as "rare" any more. What I'm getting at, is that you can't make the encounter ration 3%, 4%, 8%, or 9%
