2000 Years Ago...

A large and long dark room was plagued with the sound of slow footsteps. Noticably, the only source of light was due to the torches lit on the walls. A long Black table stood in the centre of the large room. The sounds of 1 set of footsteps then became 2, then 3, then 4, 5 and finally 6. 5 men and 1 women Covered in dark robes, one with shades of green, another with grey, another white, another blue, another red and another brown. The 6 stood spread around the table.

"So it's decided." The man in the robe with white shades stated.

"We will go our seperate ways. If we cannot apply a single intention, then we are now enemies." assured the man in the grey shaded robe.

"Hahah!" Came the sinister laugh of the lady in the blue shaded robe. "That's fine with me, my comrades and I will forever crush all of your future intentions.

"Watch what you say witch." Came the monotoned voice of the man in the brown shades robe.

"Hmph. Without my intention the world would be boring but if you'se insist cya!" stated a man in the red shaded robes as he then turned and walked off, the women then performed the same action. The only 2 left att he table were the ones standing from either side of it. The one with white shades and the other with grey shades.

"So then brother." the man in the white shaded robes began. "it's over."

"That it is brother." said the man in the grey shaded clothes.

The 2 then turned and walked off.

The other duelist, a man in his early twenties, laughed smirking. "You honeestly think that pretty little dragon of your's can stop my creature! Don't make me laugh! I'm not affraid of you no matter what some people may say! Now it's time to end this duel! Go and attack Ancient Lotus Dragon!", the man yelled. The man's duel monster sent it's attack towards Marie's duel monster. "Your finished and so is your dragon!", he laughed.

Man's monster stats:
2500 ATTK
1900 DEF

Ancient Lotus Dragon's stats:
2100 ATTK
3000 DEF

A smirk appeared on Marie's face. "You should have listened to your friend's advice. We're not so easy to defeat.", Marie said. For a moment the wind picked up. Not that the man noticed really since he was too absorbed in his own sapposed victory to notice anything outside of his monster attacking Marie's dragon. Marie's hair whipped around ger face as if blown by a powerfull and wild wind. Her eyes were hard, cold and void of all emotions except for pure hatred. She drew another card and activated it, "I play my field spell Ancient Sea!" The field instently became a large dark blue field of water. " This card of mine raises any water type monster's ATTK and DEF by 300 and lowers my opponents by the same amount!", explained Marie as the monster's points were adjusted. "But my turn isn't over yet. I activate Ancirnt Lotus Dragon's special ability and switch her to defense mode! Now that she is in defense mode you can't chose any of my monsters as you target and she can still attack! Go Ancient Lotus Dragon! Lotus Typhoon!"

"No! Wait!", the man cried but it was too late. The dragon's attack slammed into the other man's monster destroying it.

"Now let's finish this allready! Move in for a direct attack!", yelled Marie. The dragon attacked the man directly and ended the duel. Marie walked over to the man who was now on his knees on the ground, "I would listen to your pals next time. They know more then you think." She turned and walked off from the crowd.

Xurik was in the middle of class where he was bored out of his mind when his teacher trying to shame him for not paying attention in class by telling him to do an extremely difficult problem, he simply walked up to the bored and solved it easily. The teacher was going to give him an even more difficult problem when the bell rang for the end of school so the teacher would have to find another way to get his revenge, he figured it out and challenged Xurik to a duel.
Duel last turn -
Teacher LP: 400
Xurik LP: 4000

Now I'll have my Accel Hero Burn Breaker attack your Ancient Gear Soldier and that should be 300 more than your life plus his effect which would have brought you to minus 1600 but unfortunately I can't do that much in a duel, so can i go now.

With his victory Xurik left while his teacher stood there dumbfounded.
LV 5 / Fire / Warrior / Effect / Synchro
ATK 2000 / DEF 1000
1 "Accel Hero" tuner + 1 or more non-tuner monsters
When this card destroys a monster as a result of battle and sends it to the Graveyard, deal damage to your Opponents Life Points by the ATK of the destroyed monster.

"I use my Goblin Attack Force to take out your face-down monster! Attack!" My Life points stood at a mere 900, whereas his were still at 2400. I stood just outside of the Central Library, the biggest one in the whole city, as well as my place of employment. I'd just gotten off my shift when some idiot threatened to beat me and take my money. How cliche.
I'd noticed he wore a duel disk, so I instead challenged him to a duel. In this city, dueling is a good way for everyone to resolve their issues, and is quite a bit easier than fighting it out with your fists. To the untrained eye, it may have looked like I was in a bad situation, but in truth I had just the right set-up that I needed.
"Yay, you've destroyed my Medusa Worm. You happy? I'm still alive, and next turn I've got my Ace coming out. Open reverse card, Limit Reverse. I Special Summon from my Graveyard Frequency Golem." A small figure made of stone popped out of the ground. It looked like a mini clay solder, with a sheath at his side and blank eyes.
Frequency Golem: 400 ATK, 2000 DEF, Level 3, Rock/EARTH/Tuner
"Enough talk... you're way too defensive to be able to take me out, no matter what. My Goblins switch to defense position after they attack, but I'm not worried about a lame duelist like you. Pass to you."

Whatever. Just like a bully... He thinks he's got everything under control, but his eyes are leaking out suspicion. Well, let's see if that mind of his can comprehend this next move of mine...
"Alright... draw. I'll activate Frequency Golem's effect, flipping it face-down." The small golem hid under the earth, digging his way into it. "Next, since I have not manually changed its position, I Flip Summon Frequency Golem, thus activating his effect: I either decrease or increase his level by 1. Hm... I'll decrease it to 2." The golem jumped out of the ground, shrinking in size just a little bit as his level counter went from 3 to 2. "Now, from my hand I Normal Summon Golem Sentry..." Another tiny golem appeared, this one looking like a small gate holding a spear. "Now, here's where the fun begins... Tuning!"
Both creatures jumped into the air. Frequency Golem split into two green rings, spinning around Golem Sentry. Golem Sentry faded away into four stars, and they all danced in the air, emitting a bright light.
"Stone hearts, once uncovered, become tempered into the strongest of steel... Endure, and protect the one you hold dearest. Synchro Summon! Dig deep! Steelescent Dragon!"
The light faded away, revealing a large dragon with wings made of steel. Armor like scales covered its entire body, reflecting the sunlight magnificently. A roar escaped from Steelescent Dragon's mouth, echoing as if it came from deep down in a metallic cave. 2400 ATK points flashed next to it as it landed down next to me.
"Next, I remove from play the Medusa Worm in my Graveyard to summon Gigantes!" Medusa Worm appeared, a small stone worm, and quickly slipped into a black void, filling the cost for Gigantes. An orange-skinned giant arose from the earth, its massive hands slamming the ground and creating a tiny bit of a shockwave. 1900 ATK points stood next to it. "Gigantes, crush the Goblins!" The giant charged, slamming both fists down into the group of Goblins, shattering them into thousands of fragments.
"Steelescent Dragon, strike!" My creature leapt into the air, letting its steel wings spread and catch the air beneath him, gliding down. Suddenly, he stopped descending, opening his wings wide. "Steelescent Rain!" The "feathers" of his wings shot down like needles, striking my opponent head-on. Dust was kicked up by the impact, smothering my view of him. My Duel Disk disengaged, though, confirming my victory. The holograms disappeared, and I turned to continue my walk home.
Without another word, I continued on my way home to my beloved, acting as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened...

Cameron sped along the highway from atop the Security D-Wheel. This was not the D-Wheel he used outside work, and it annoyed him that the Security D-Wheels wasn't as cool as his own. He hadn't done anything today except patrolling across the giant bridge that connect Neo Domino City and Satellite. Suddenly a voice said in his ear: "We have a criminal coming your way from the Neo Domino area, No. 9!"

"I'm on it!" said No. 9, that would be Cam, and smiled. He ascended his D-Wheel so that it stood on the rear wheel, used all his strength to make it turn and hen sped towards the Neo Domino. Luckily for him there was not many cars here this time of day, and soon he met with the criminal. "Speed World 2, activated!"

His D-Wheel sent out a wave that forced the criminal's D-Wheel to activate, and Cameron once aain turned is D-Wheel so that they were going the same way.

Moments later.

"s*** s*** s***!" the criminal was hitting the monitor on his D-Wheel out of sheer anger.

"Luckily for you I'm not allowed to use my personal deck at work!" Cameron dismounted his D-Wheel and smiled. He clicked a button on his helmet. "You can cme and pick him up now."

"Good job, Embel."

Izo sat at his desk, the setup in front of him looking less like a computer and more like the sort of thing you’d see in a space shuttle launch. He casually typed away at the keyboards, putting the finishing touches on his assignment. He grinned casually as he reread his work, considering it satisfactory. If there was one thing he was good at, it was programming and if he even got any homework on the subject he’d be on it the moment he got home. He switched his gaze to a second monitor to his left, the screen displaying a duel between a man called Brave and another called Asic. By the look of it, Asic had the upper hand, having two powerful Dragon monsters on the field.
“Well, that won’t last,” Izo muttered.
Sure enough, Brave executed a powerful Synchro Summon and instantly turned the game around.
“Knew it,” Izo said, closing the window.

He glanced down fondly at his own deck. While he admitted that Synchro Monsters where powerful and a great way to turn the tide of a duel he saw no need for them himself, his own data monsters where all he needed as far as he was concerned.
A soft blip sounded on his screen and a voice message came through on his headset.
“Yo Izzy,” a voice with a German accent came through “How’s it hanging?”
“Hey Lex,” Izo replied “Didn’t you have ‘stuff to do’ or was that just an excuse?”
Izo grinned, remembering Lex chickening out on a duel.
“Done it,” Lex replied “And that was not an excuse either!”
Izo chuckled loudly. The pair continuing their conversation till there was a knock at Izo’s bedroom door. Izo looked up, curious.
“Hello?” He asked.

There were many fans surrounding the back door of the stadium many security were maintaining the crowd by blocking off the velvet path that led to a limo. Suddenly the door opened and Brave along with his Pit team walked out, many fans were dissapointed to see that he didn't stop for autographs. brave didn't care however as he walked intot he limo, noticably an attractive women sat inside with a clipboard. "Ah Brave sir!" she began as he entered the car. "There was a letter for you at your house." "A letter?" Brave questioned. "Yea it was unusual compared to others more formal, and adressed solely to you." brave sighed. "Like most of my other mail." brave stared out the window as he headed for a giant building that appeared to be his house. Upon leaving the vehicle with his secretary and entering the house, the letter sat on a table in a large room with clear windows surrounding the room and displaying the view, Brave walked o the windows with the letter and opened it. "Fortune Cup?" He questioned.

adam scratched his heads as he tossed a burger up in the air. there were times where he wished he was somewhere else, doing something else. this was one of the times. all he wanted to do is to play duel monsters instead of being trapped in a hot and smelly fast food resturaunt. he only did this for an hour or so. then he could not hold it in anymore. it almost seemed as if the duel monsters were calling his name from his pocket. mustering his courage, he challanged the waiter for a duel during his break (yes this fast food resturaunt actually has waiters.)
Adam's LP: 4000
waiter's LP: 4000
in a matter of turns, the waiter's life points fell to zero at the hands of the volcanic doomfire. adam smiled malicously. he savored every moment of dueling

Marie continued to walk around the Satelite, though no body noticed her. How could they when she stayed to the shadows of the ally ways and kept her hood up? As much as she loved to duel Marie really didn't feel like dealing with other pesty duelists at the moment. She had allready dueled several others today and was looking forward to avoiding everyone else at least untill the next day. She continued down the main streets for awhile untill she hung a sudden right. marie was now on what one may consider the 'back roads' of the Satelite. The street didn't have many other people on it so it suited the female duelist. She walked on with her head hung down so her hood was completly covering her face and her hand on her side exposing her duel disk.

The door opened and Izo’s father walked in, the usual scowl on his face. He carried a letter in one hand with fancy writing over the front.
“What is it?” Izo asked.
“Letter for you,” Izo’s dad said in a bored voice before tossing the letter Izo’s way.
Izo caught the note deftly, looking at the fancy writing across the front.
“No address?” He noted “This was delivered personally.”
The sound of a door shutting told Izo that his father had left the room, this didn’t bother him. He opened the letter and took out the contents.
“What you get?” Lex asked.
“An invite,” Izo said “To the Fortune Cup.”

“What, you?” Lex sounded disbelieving “Don’t get me wrong man, you’re a good duellist and all but you’re hardly at that level.”
“Well contestants are randomly selected I believe,” Izo said, starting up another monitor and quickly typing in commands.
“That’s bull,” Lex replied “We all know they just choose people who’ll please a crowd.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Izo grinned.
He brought up the page for the Fortune Cup and began browsing. An intrigued thumb rested on Izo’s lips as he read.
“Maybe this is just the sort of thing I’m looking for,” he said.
“What?” Lex replied “You mean your brother right?”
“Yeah,”

“Give it up man,” Lex sounded annoyed “He’s gone, get over it.”
Izo heaved a sigh and closed the page.
“I guess I should,” he replied “But I still want to believe he’s out there.”
“Whatever man,” Lex said “Hey, since you got in are you gonna modify your deck? A couple of Fusions or Synchros wouldn’t hurt.”
“Nah, that’s not my style,” Izo replied “Besides, there are none that really work with my play style.”

Marie continued down the allmost deserted street untill she came to a large abandoned warehouse. Large boards of wood covered the windows and the front doors were chained and padlocked shut. All in all it looked like a condemed building on the outside. Still Marie headed for it and made a sharp left turn down an ally going right down the side of the warehouse.

She came around to the back door and walked into the back of the building. After walking up a flight of steps Marie came into a large open space that was completly furnished for someone to live in.

When Marie walked in she noticed a letter sitting on the counter with her name on it. It didn't have an addressbut she picked it up and opened it anyway. She scanned the letter and her eyes narrowed. "Fortune Cup?", Marie sighed and checked the date. Then she placed in in a secure spot, "Hm. This is going to be interesting."

Cam returned to the Security HQ and was met with mixed reactions. His friends gladly greeted him, while some others didn't like him because of the criminal marker under his right eye, which he got during his younger days when he stole a rare card.

"Mr Embel..." A woman's voice came from the counter. Cam turned to her and smiled.

"Don't call me mister, please!" Cam responded.

"Sorry, but you got a letter while you were patrolling." The woman handed him a letter. The sender of the letter probably knew that Cam lived at the Security Station, he couldn't afford living at a place of his own when he saved money for Jenny's transplantation.

Cameron opened the letter and skimmed through it until he reached the note about the prize money. He read the whole thing again more carefully and smiled.

"FANTASTIC!" he yelled and held up the letter. "I will tell Jenny at once!"

He dashed out of the station, leaving the others shocked and staring at the door.

"What just happened?" one of the officers asked.

"I have no idea." another one responded.

The walk home is a pretty short one. I only live about a mile from the Library, so it only takes me, at the most, fifteen minutes to get home. Stepping in through the door, I was greeted by Siobhan, my best friend and wife-to-be.
"Hi! I've missed you so much today!" She ran right at me, hugging me really hard to the point of me almost being unable to breathe. Her beautiful blond hair smothered my face, blanking my vision out. The scent of it overwhelmed my senses. This is the good life, y'know.

"I missed you too. How'd things go here?" I embraced her in my arms tightly. I love her more than anything, and nothing in this world is gonna change that.

"Well... you have a letter." She let go of me slowly, unwilling to let go. When our bodies were separate once more she walked over to the dining table and picked up a white envelope with my name on it. "Here you go!"

I quickly worked my nails underneath the folds and through the glue, breaking through to the treasure underneath. I quickly scanned the contents of the letter, taking note of the words "prize money" and "tournament".

"Fortune cup, eh...?" I thought about it for a second, almost as if I had to decide whether or not I wanted to join. "Nothing to do but wait..."

Brave folded his arms whilst holdingn the letter an dlooked out the window wit a stern look. "1 of the 3 largest tournaments to exist. This is definatly where I shall definatly prove I am the best." Brave drew a card from his Deck, "Twilight Dragon" Suddenly his forearm started hurting. he tensed it and grabbed it firmly. "What the?!" (hopefully everyone feel the pain to) Brave relinquished his grip as the pain settled. Brave suddenly felt a chill in the air, he turned to his right and then left then he looked behind himself, standing about 5 metres away was a man wearing a black robe with shades of white on it. "Who are you!?" Brave questioned. The man said nothing and disapeared in a flsh of light.

Marie sighed. She had been staring at the counter where she placed the strange letter about the Fortune Cup earlier. She took of her cloak and hung it up before resuming to look at the place she put the letter. "What the heck?...." She walked over to the counter and picked the evelope containing the letter up. She headed to the couch removing the paper as seh went. "Furtune Cup....prize money.....many different duelists....." She was trying to decide to join or not. She knew some people would reconize her during the duels but it intrigued the female duelist. "Man I can not believe I am actually considering this. It reeks of Sector Security. Guess there is only one thing to do then." Marie sat down on the couch and placed the letter and the envelope onto the table in front of her. She looked at her duel disk which was still strapped to her arm with her deck in it and removed the top card. She looked at it as if examining it closely for something. It was her 'Ancient Lotus Dragon'. "Well...what do you think Marie?", she asked though there was nobody in the room with her. "Ahh!", Marie suddenly grabed her arm. It was throbbing and burning like crazy and she removed her hand after the pain had gone. "What the heck was that?!", Marie said. 'It happened when I removed Ancient Lotus.', she gazed at the card.

I sat in the dining room looking over my deck one last time. Everything seemed to be fine earlier, so I think I might stand a good shot in this "Fortune Cup" tournament.

"Luis, hon, come to bed. It's late." Siobhan's voice down the hall sounded half-asleep, but still as cute as ever. I took one last look at my Ace, Steelescent Dragon, before I proceeded to get up from the chair-

And then came the throbbing, burning pain on my arm. It felt as if somebody had branded me on my arm. I was wearing a long sleeve shirt, so I couldn't see if something was burning me. I was too focused on the intense pain to look. I held my arm in a tight grip, trying to get the pain to go away, as if squeezing it hard enough would expel whatever it was burning my arm.

I dropped Steelescent Dragon in the fit of pain, and soon after the burning sensation subsided.

"What... was that...?"

Marie sighed. Her instincts told her not to go to teh Fortune Cup wwhen the date arrived. Not only that, but the wierd burning sensesation hshe had felt a moment ago was only farther confirmation that she should listen to her instincts. 'Sector Security trying to nab me or not I can handle myself.', she thought gazing at he opposite wall. THen she switched her gaze back to Ancient Lotus Dragon in her hand, 'And with you by my side. To the 10th Fortune Cup it is then.', Marie silently added. She carefully placed the dragon card back into her deck and looked around the old warehouse she had made into a liveable home. She noticed it was getting late out according to the way the sky looked outside a skylight. She got up off of the couch and walked up the steps. She unstraped her duel disk and set it on the side table before sitting down on the side of the bed. With one last rub of her arm where she had felt the burning sensation Marie layed down and went to sleep.

Cam sat down next to his old friend, who were asleep. The doctors had told Cameron that she had been asleep for a while now, and that the time soon would come if nothing was done, but Cam had hope.

"I was invited to the Fortune Cup, Jenny!" He smiled, and even if he wasn't really quiet she didn't wake up. "And together with thi-" He pulled Eternal Flame Dragon out of his deck, but he dropped it as he felt a shocking pain in his right arm. The card landed in Jenny's open hand, and she gripped it. As if she was awake she moved her left arm, the one not holding the card, to her deck, lying on the desk. She drew the top card, and then placed her left hand on her chest.

"You want me to use that card?" Cam asked, shocked. Jenny let go of the card she had drawn and it slid down her body into the hand holding Eternal Flame Dragon. Cam smiled. "Thank you, Jennifer! I will!"

He grabbed the two cards and stood up. WHen he exited the room he could hear a faint voice: "Good luck..."

Izo calmly walked up to his father's study, the invite clutched firmly in his hand. He hesitated, hearing his father moving about inside. He reached up and knocked loudly on the door. He heard his father pause inside and his voice came through the door.
"Come in,"
Izo opened the door and walked in, spotting his father sitting at his desk.
"Well?" His father asked without turning around.
“I got a letter,” Izo replied.
“I know,” his father said, disinterest evident in his voice.
“It was an invite,” Izo continued “To the Fortune Cup.”
His father didn’t reply he didn’t even pause in his work. Izo stood in the doorway, staring at his father as he waited for a reply.
“Did you hear me?” Izo asked.
“I heard you,” his father replied.
“And?”
“And what?” This time his father did turn around, gazing at his son with a sour gaze “Don’t go thinking they picked you because you where special. It’s random, remember?”
“That’s not what I wanted to talk about,” Izo replied “I’m going to enter after all.”
“I’m not stopping you,”

“Then you could try showing a bit of interest,” Izo replied harshly, causing his father’s expression to darken “I know you don’t think I’ll ever be as good as my brother, but that doesn’t mean you can just pass me off as a cheap imitation.” He continued “I’m nothing like him, but I can be just as good a duellist as him…”
“And for what?” His father interrupted him “So you can replace him? I already told you there is nothing more to say on this matter.”
“No,” Izo replied “So I can look him in the eye when I see him again, as an equal rather than just his little brother.”
His father raised an eyebrow.
“You’re still believing that fantasy?” He asked sternly.

“Wouldn’t you want to believe it too?” Izo asked “I know he’s still alive and I’m going to find him. This is just the first step.” He clutched the invite tighter “I’m going to enter, and even if I don’t win I’m sure it’ll start me off on my way to finding him.”
His father sighed and turned around, returning to his work.
“Do what you like then,” he said “It’s none of my business.”
Izo waited for a moment but his father didn’t say anything else. He left the room, closing the door shut behind him. He reached into his pocket, pulling out a deck of cards with his Virtual Hero placed at the top.
“We’ll find him,” he muttered “Together.”
