Envoy of Twilight
Let us discuss. Who is the most intelligent Anime/Manga character? I want you, and perhaps me, to decide. If not, we can just discuss intelligent characters. burnpsy
Negi Springfield. Give him enough time, and he can formulate a plan to defeat someone he wouldn't normally be able to defeat without 20 or so more years of training.

Envoy of Twilight
That, my friend, is fail sauce. I am being serious...although I lol'd hard at that. I believe that Light Yagami is, maybe not the most intelligent, but definitely in the top 5 smartest characters

Vector Nightmare
Well, Lelouch had better tactical and organizational skills, but often lacked the resolve to put them to use. On the other hand Light was completely cold-hearted, and used everything and everyone to achieve his purpose. On top of that his micromanaging skills were top-tier. Unlike Lelouch, who often found his plans crumbling around him and displayed his prominence by formulating new plans in an instant, Light had more long-term insight, but proved incapable to cope with fast-paced situations. I'd say both were about equal in their manipulation skills, Lelouch going as far as to predict how a conversation would go and videotape his side of it, making it look completely natural, and Light even manipulating a shinigami into killing herself to further his plans. One of the main differences and the reason we can't extrapolate direct comparisons is that Lelouch' plans involved manipulating a lot of people and using grand schemes, while Light's plans were precise and only involved himself, his enemies, and a few well-placed pawns. The downfall for both seemed to be the unpredictable actions or incompetence of their 'comrades'. Personally, though, I stand for Light.

DARKPLANT RISING
Watch it, it's epic. Best anime I've seen. Terribly confusing, so confusing it needed its own YouTube video series made by public that explains everything, but epic.
