Envoy of Twilight
Brandon smiled as he sat down in the warm Warehouse he called home. "Who shall it be today", Brandon said with a smile. Raptor sighed a little. "I have no idea", he said with a fake smile. Brandon frowned. "Cheer up Raptor, the human world isn't that boring", he said with a grin. "Easy for a human to say", Raptor said as he started flying around the warehouse. Raptor stopped suddenly and smiled. "You want to make the deal today?" Raptor said as a giant grin swept across his face. "I told you once already Raptor, I can do without the eyes, especially since it takes half of my remaining years. You want me dead quickly, don't you?" he said with a frown. Raptor frowned as well. "No, I'm just a little bored is all", Raptor said as he sighed once again. Brandon looked on the wall next to the desk he was sitting at. "I love having a plasma", he said as he stared at the large plasma T.V attached to his wall. He grabbed the remote off the desk and turned the television on. It was already set to the news. A woman, obviously a newscaster, began speaking. "Just yesterday, the murder of a five year old girls family took place. We are coming to you live from outside the courthouse. The alleged murderer's name is Takishi Misato. We will show a picture of the man as well". Brandon laughed. The man was a fat, disgusting looking man. He slowly pulled a pen from his pocket and began writing. "Ta-ki-shi....Mi-sa-to", he spelled out loud. "I don't think he deserves anything special, so a heart attack will suffice. Brandon looked at his watch. "Five, four, three, two...one". The newscaster put her hand to her ear and suddenly, if not abruptly, a look of surprise came across her face. "This just in!" she began. "The suspect has just died of a sudden heart attack!" she yelled, almost with glee. Brandon shut the television off. "I suppose that'll suffice for now", he said as he walked to the wall of the warehouse and crawled into bed, his Death Note clenched tightly in his hands. Hellequin
Setting at her desk and glancing out of the window, Nina looked on as the sun set over the horizon. Darkness took the room until Nina turned on her lamp, and the light revealed Grea, sitting in the corner of the room. "Grea," she asked, turning toward the Shinigami, "you said there are more Death Notes out there, right?" Grea shuffled quietly and stood up, still hunched over. "You have a better memory than me," she replied with her scratchy voice. "I think I told you that." "I was watching the news today, some story about a guy who murdered some girl," she continued, "and he died of a heart attack. Suddenly. One second alive, another dead." Grea shrugged. "Hmph. You think it's just a coincidence?" "I don't know. But if I want to destroy the Death Notes then I better find out," she smiled cutely. She opened a compartment in her desk and took out a black notebook, the Death Note. Opening it, she set it on her desk and clicked a pen. "I'm going to write down a few names, tonight. A special treat for you. You said I can have people I kill write messages or say stuff?" Grea walked closer, amused. "You have a better memory than me." Nina pulled out from the same compartment another notebook, this time a spiral baby blue. Opening it, she said, "Henry MacArthur. Suspected in the murder of six individuals, currently under twenty four hour surveillance and the news media desperately following his case, for views, I suppose. They won't miss a message like this, and they will show it on television unless L or the police interferes. No matter what, someone who I want to will see it." She began writing in her death note, while saying, "Henry MacArthur. Heart attack, 3:28 pm. Let's say tomorrow. Before death, asks for notepad and pencil. Writes the following message on it, 3:26 pm: I do not want to be punished by Death, for I do not mean harm. If I am punished, may I have salvation in heaven. Please, whoever reads this, take note that I repent my sins, for it may look better in the eyes of God." Grea nodded, "The boy who was Kira did something like that." Nina smiled. "I-do-have-note. Simple. Hopefully they catch it."
Catterjune
(Italics = thoughts) "It doesn't take a genius of my caliber to figure out the sudden heart attacks are the return of Kira. Just one unsettling thing. There does not seem to be a pattern in which these people are being killed. Does this mean it is the work of more than one Kira?" Keen, probably already working for the police force to save time, sat about in the attic of her small home, scratching her cheek as she looked over the details of the case. Criminals being killed with sudden, inexplicable heart attacks. It was all too similar to a case L and Near, the new L, had investigated. Near, not taking an interest in the case, decided to hand it down to the women detective. At this point, the rules of the Death Note had been quite well known to everyone, both average citizens and the police. Kira needed a name and a face in order to kill. "Clearly, our best course of action would be to identify other patterns, zero in on the important ones, and use them to catch and identify these multiple Kiras." A sudden flash and ping on the computer, the police force was contacting her. She adjusted her camera, so only her eyes would show, before clicking the button. "Good evening gentlemen. Any new developments on the Kira case?" Her unaltered voice, a sad and almost tired cadance to it, entered their ears. The police chief, assuming he wouldn't be taken later on as the RP continues, spoke. "Two more sudden heart attacks. We're sending you all the information." "A suicide note. But he couldn't have possibly foreseen a heart attack." "We've already established Kira can control the victim moments before death. Any peculiar actions should be closely examined." she spoke before examining the evidence. And before long, Keen had identified a pattern. "I do have note?" A raised eyebrow. "This Kira must be screwing us!" She leaned into the microphone, only her eyes visible to those at the police station. "Clearly, Kira is experimenting, toying with his victims." An unsure sound about her. "Broadcasting the details of the note would be giving Kira exactly what he wanted." "On the other hand..." A theory she hadn't presented yet to the officers, about multiple, more then one Kira. Still only just a theory. However, perhaps these multiple Kira could become pawns in something greater. If one Kira knew about the other, they may try to team up. However, that would merely make the patterns to track them down easier to identify. Not to mention that should they make a move to try to contact each other, it would only assist in helping them catch the multiple Kira. "However..." she began. Over the monitors, one could see her right hand coming up to awkwardly swipe at her bangs. "If we do not present our findings, Kira will know we are onto him. By feigning ignorance, perhaps we can spur him to act out more, to catch our attention." It was a risky play, but she knew if it worked the payoff would be immense. "Make sure the details of the suicide note are made public, however do not make it overtly obvious what we are doing." "Ma'am, with all do respect, what ARE we doing?" A smug smirk, though they couldn't tell at the police station. A light chuckle was the only confirmation they could tell that she was pleased with herself. "Why, setting a trap of course." Hellequin
Nina turned on her television around five the following day to watch the news. They showed the suicide note, everything. "Grae," she said, staring at the TV. "I'm going to write another message." Just like last night, Grae walked over to Nina's desk as the young girl took out her Death Note and the list of criminals. "Johnny Jones has been on suicide watch for a while now. Recently convicted for murder of his wife. Neal Frank was charged with the kidnapping of his ex-wife's new sons and is currently in prison awaiting trial. Both of them are disgusting." Grae noticed her begin to write. "What are you planning?" "A test L and the police." After a few minutes, she set down her pen. "Johnny Jones. Heart attack 7:10pm. Writes names of the following people with pieces of food he received for dinner at 6:59pm: Izzy Drake, Ozzy Nathanial, Oscar Tab. Then writes down the following message at 7:08 with ripped up pieces of napkins: "wants contact with gods and the protector." She paused, and then continued. "Neal Frank. 7:03pm. Screams "Want to Kill" before heart attack." Grae narrowed her red eyes. "Another message?" Nina nodded. "Take the first letters of the names, and you get 'I do not'. The Gods in the napkin message can be interpreted as Kiras, while the Protector is L. Thus, 'contact with kiras and L'. Lastly, the Want to Kill is obvious. Let's see how they react." Envoy of Twilight
Brandon awoke the next morning, his Death Note tightly gripped in his hand. He stuffed the Death Note into his backpack and followed his daily routine, starting by getting dressed and walking to school. Raptor followed behind him. "I wonder how long it'll take for the police to catch me", he said with a grin. "There is no way they could even suspect me. I've shortened my killings to one criminal a month. If I keep at that rate, nobody would say a thing...it would all look natural". Raptor scratched his head. "What about all the other heart attack victims, all dying of heart attacks. Is it possible that there are more Death Notes around?" Raptor said, obviously knowing the answer. "I guess. To be honest, I could care less. As long as they get caught and not me, I don't see any reason to feel threatened. However...I wonder what my new world will be like...will it be anything like the original Kira's? Or perhaps it will be even better! In any case, I will cleanse this planet of the rotten vermin called criminals. They will quiver in fear when they hear my name, Kira of course. I shall pass righteous judgement and there is nothing those slime in prison and on the streets can do about it". Brandon stopped his speech as he arrived at school. He grinned as he walked through the school doors. "One piece of trash at a time".
Hellequin
She closed her notebook and set in her desk, locking the compartment. "Have you ever dropped your notebook in the human world before now, Grae?" She said, a little tired and leaned back in her chair. Grae shifted slightly. "Don't exactly remember, but I don't think so. Why do you ask?" "Just wondering," said Nina. "You have already told me a bit about the Kira case from what you heard from... Ryuk, I think. How L died and everything and N took his place. I don't think N is working on this case this time though... Just a suspicion though, can't really back it up." Grae remained silent for a few moments, and then said, "They say whoever is possessed by a Shinigami only experiences misery... It held up for Kira." Nina turned to Grae, smiling, and said, "Then I will be the one to break that curse. But remember, last time there was only one Kira. This time there are at least two, maybe three, maybe ten Death Notes. L won't know what hit him."
Dharc
Alex, in his Grey Faltren disguise, sat on the subway, jotting things down in his notebook. He wasn't going to have his Death Note out in public, he knew netter than that. He didn't even have Death Note Paper in here. Just a regular spiral notebook. That wasn't to say he didn't have any Paper, though...In his watch, there was a little scrap of paper that could be accessed simply using a pen, if need be. But for now, he was just writing down the headlines going across the news ticker. Murders, bank robberies, rapes. Rapes especially. He vowed to kill every rapist in the world, no matter the cost. Rezza, who was peering over Alex's shoulder, chuckled. "Y'know, I'm still trying to figure out why you killed your father already, but not your mother." "Simple, my dear Shinigami, my father was a rapist. Simple as that. My mother, while she did commit domestic violence, does not need to face the facts quite yet...No, I will issue her death sentence on Wednesday..." Rezza chuckled once more. "The way you think always surprises me, kid. I never really know why you do these things, but you must have some grand reasoning for all of this." "Yes...I do." "...And?" "...And what, Shinigami Rezza?" "Well, what is it?" There was a long, dramatic pause. "...To destroy." "Destroy what?" "Fear."
Catterjune
"For right now, all we can tell is Kira... or perhaps, all of the Kiras, are seem to operate with a childlike sense of idealism. Similar to the original Kira, the victims only seem to be targetting criminals. Because of this, I theorize the current group of Kira are young. School children, none older then 18, that's for certain." She washed her hands meticulously, opening a sleeve of Ritz Crackers, taking them with her before going upstairs to the attic where she did her deepest thinking. Keen reached into the package, sticking a cracker in her mouth. She let it dissolve a little before biting down and chewing. Looking at her computer, she wondered why there was no new activity. "Strange. No further activity." She went for some more Ritz Crackers, giving it some thought. "I doubt that first message was targeted at me. Rather, it was a sign for the others to begin gathering. Either they have not yet met, or they have and are merely biding their time." She took a few more crackers. "Not exactly a helpful hypothesis. Either they met or they had not. Nevertheless, without their movement, we can not figure this out." She reached the bottom 2 crackers, shoving both of them into her mouth. "A lesser detective may accept this as a suitable compromise. No further activity from them, and no further investigation from us. However, I am NOT a lesser detective." Finishing her snack, she folded the plastic sleeve carefully, before carefully depositing it in a nearby (empty) garbage can. She produced a bottle of Hand Sanitizer from her left, quickly cleaning her hand. She adjusted her hair, preparing to give instructions. However, before she could send a message to them, it seemed a message had popped up for her. A ping, to get her attention. Fortunately, she was already in position so she could answer swiftly. "What are the updates on the case?" The police e-mailed and faxed over all the relevant information. K looked over all the relevant information. She pressed a button to speak to the police. "As I suspected, Kira is not merely playing with his victims. There does appear to be a rhyme and reason to his games." Keen looked over the notes, the napkin in particular. "Get in contact with Izzy Drake, Ozzy Nathanial, and Oscar Tab. Put them under extreme police security. Perferably in a location I can see them." She had one other assignment in mind, the reason for sending out her message originally, but it seemed of little importance for right now. It was evident the above three would probably be in danger. Deciphering the remains of the puzzle, would not require much work. She shut off her microphone and camera, then got to it. 7:03 Neal Frank. Yelled out "Want to Kill" before dying of a heart attack. Kira, or at least, this particular Kira, makes his intentions very clear. 7:10: Johnny Jones. Leaves us two messages. "Izzy Drake, Ozzy Nathanial, Oscar Tab." It is likely these are Kira's next 3 victims, however... the first letter of their first and the first letter of their last name spell it out. "I do not". Combined with the message on the napkins, "Want contact with gods and the protector." She scratched her head, a confused feeling overwhelming her. "Why kill a suicidal man with a heart attack? Kira must have known he was on Suicide Watch... but how?" "All I can say for certain it seems, is that this Kira wants to kill, and that he does not want the interference of gods and the protector into his sick little game." Giving it some thought, she finally got back to the police. She pressed a quick button and began speaking. "It is evident that Kira wishes to show his dominion over us, however we must not relent. It is up to you, Police Chief, to decide what you wish to do with the information. As for what I need from the police force, I would like to investigate further into all the heart attack victims. The friends, family, and last few hours of those involved. Dismissed." She pressed another button, the camera and microphone cut off. "Kira... I don't know what you are planning, or what you hope to accomplish, or how many of you there are out there, however I do know one thing. I will make sure you get what's coming to you. Mark my words."
Hellequin
The next day the her killings and the messages, appeared on the news. Nina collasped onto her bed. sighing. She heard Grea's voice from across the room. "What was the point of all of that?" Nina sat up, smiling. "My message had a double meaning. Timing was everything. The three messages say this: "I do not, want contact with gods and the protector, and want to kill. That would be how you would read it if they weren't paying much attention to timing. Since Jones was under suicide watch, every movement of his was under surveillance. Thus, if one would read the messages in the order in which they were actually written or said, then they read: I do not (6:59), want to kill (7:03), and want contact with gods and the protector (7:08). Now then, since it did air on television, L and the police did not get my true message, for it entails I want contact with Kiras and that is the last thing they should want at this moment, even if it would lead to our eventual arrest it is still too soon in the case to do such a thing. However, no mention in timing was aired, meaning no Kira will get my true message as well, which is what I want." Grea shifted, confused. "And why would you want that?" "Reverse psychology, Grea. I tell them I don't want to be found and now they, or at least some of them, will try to find me. In other words, either way the other Kiras will search for me. The reason I did it this way was to find out if L had figured out my message and my best guess as of right now is no. The other names I wrote are diversions to keep L busy while I try to contact other Kiras." Grea smiled slightly. "Interesting." Nina collasped onto her bed again, smiling. Envoy of Twilight
Soon enough, school had ended. Brandon walked out of the school with a smug smiled on his face, as if he had just won a marathon. "Why are you so happy?" Raptor said as he scratched his head. "I just love the fact that I cannot be caught is all. With these other murders happening around us and me just sticking to a kill a month, there is no way the police can track anything to me". Raptor smiled. "Are you sure you didn't leave a pattern of some kind?" he said, still smiling. Brandon stopped walking and thought. "What if I did?" he thought. He scratched his head. "Well, I suppose the only real pattern is that each criminal I kill a month is located in a thirty mile radius of my house when their alleged crime was committed...but I doubt they can get anything off of that", Brandon said as he continued to walk once again. I'm going to be something more...I will not create a new world order...No, I'm nowhere near where I need to be to accomplish that...And killing criminals is what they'd expect...I think I'll just...Kill the other Kiras. Yes, that's it. The world will no longer live in fear. The other Kiras shall be eradicated. Envoy of Twilight
As Brandon neared the warehouse he called home, he thought more about the trace he could have left. "They can't be able to track me down from that..they just can't", Brandon thought to himself. "Raptor, you knew of this gap in my plan the entire time, didn't you?" Brandon said as he turned and glared at the Shinigami. "Yep", Raptor said plainly. "I'm not on your side here, I'm just along for the ride". Brandon looked away and smirked. He soon reached the warehouse. He pulled out a key from his backpack and unlocked the front entrance. As he walked in, he made to shut and lock the door behind him. He walked over to his desk and sat down. "Maybe if I change around my killing times...no, that's when you start losing, when you second guess yourself. The answer is simple. Just kill criminals each month that are all around Japan, not just my home town. Plain and easy". Brandon sighed as he began to, against his better judgement, second guess himself. "No, I have to stick to this plan. If I don't, the penalty could mean death". Raptor smiled.

Hellequin
Nina was lying on her bed, reading a book, while Grea stood in the corner like always, hunched over. Without sitting up or moving her eyes from the book, Nina asked, "Grea, you said there were two Kiras in the original Kira case right? A boy and a girl?" "Yes," said Grea. "With the guy being the smart one and the girl being a ditzy girlfriend?" "Yes." Nina began to think. L probably knows that there are more than one Kiras out there, but only one of them thus far has been trying to gain the other Kiras' attention, which is me. If I can get L to think I'm the ditz of this situation, maybe he'll underestimate me while the other Kiras try to take advantage of me.... About ten minutes later, Nina sat up. "Grea, I have another idea." "You're writing another message?" "Not really... Not writing anyway." Within a few days the tapes were finished, which her butlers helped her prepare without knowing what was on the tape itself. Nina opened the door to her room, entered and shut it. Grea waited in the corner, silent. Plopping herself onto her bed, she smiled. "What were you up to?" asked Grea. "I delivered the tapes to the news station. It will probably run through L before airing though, but I don't really care who sees it." "What did you put on them?" "There are two tapes. One tape is simple instructions for the news station and that I am in fact Kira and not some fake. The second tape is instructed to air on the six o'clock news the following day, which is tomorrow. It is a basic message: first, I provide exact details of the deaths of Johnny Jones and Neal Frank, down to the minute, only something Kira would know. Then I announce that there are more than one Kiras, but although I use Kira's method of killing, I do not wish to kill, only defeat the other Kiras. That's pretty much it." Grea scratched her head. "What would all of that accomplish?" "First I am providing details of the Deaths of Johnny Jones and Neal Frank the second time now, so hopefully some one catches on. But the main thing is just to get my message across. I don't make any threats or anything so they don't have to air it if L doesn't want to. I guess it is another test, you can say." You see, the fake was lower quality than the originals, so I had to make sure they didn't think I was full of crap from the beginning. It didn't matter, though. The fake is still relatively high-quality, just not as high-caliber as a real one." "Oh, I see...Well, not really, but whatever you say kid...You don't think they'll be suspicious, though?" "Oh, I know they'll think this is at least moderately sketchy. People are going to be looking for Grey Faltren." "Who?" "The alias I use. He has a birth certificate, attends High School, and he has foster parents, due to his parents being in prison. You ask anybody that should know about him anything about him, they'll give you a straight answer." "When'd you come up with this?" "My foster dad is in tight with a lot of people. Enough said." Rezza chuckled. "Alright kid. So, what are you going to do now?" "Simple." Alex paused for about two seconds. "I'm sending in a tape."
Cozmosus
Yukio entered his room. It was time to write down the names he planned for today. He had one criminal do his dirty work for him. He wrote down the mans name a few nights ago. He escaped from a mental hospital, thinking he was Kira, and began killing of criminals. Ishimaru Tadayoshi. He wrote it down so that he would kill off criminals for three days and then die of a heart attack. To make the police follow Ishimaru's trail, he got him to use a syringe filled with potassium chloride, which would give the effect of Kira killing them. It was an almost foolproof plan. "Kekekekeke....." Hajike laughed. "What are you laughing about Hajike?" said Yukio. "Oh nothing...." Hajike had seen the flaw in the plan. Yukio ignored him and continued with his work. He would kill off a few criminals in the area that Ishimaru would commit his murders in to send investigation squads there. Everything he had been doing was leading up to a plan that he would put into action tomorrow. As he put his note away in it's secret hiding place, he activated his computer. Since he was rich, this was no ordinary computer. A wall lit up, with a bright white. He placed his hand on the wall, which in turn scanned it and fully activated. He opened up a file called police files. He had snuck into the police station a few days earlier and hacked into the computer. He had a complete list of all of the major serial killers in the country. "That seems like alot of work for one night. And may I ask, why only serial killers?" asked Hajike. "Well" said Yukio, "First of all, I didn't have enough time for all of the criminals in the database. If I stayed any longer, my device would have left too much of an imprint. I stayed just long enough that the imprint wouldn't be complete. Second, this way, I won't have to stay up for weeks writing names. That would be suspicious. Finally, it's all part of that plan I told you about." "What plan?" Hajike replied. "You'll see."
