A mid sized rock dragon with a large rock shield covered in blue glowing Saphires appeared. The display revealed it had 1000 ATK.

"Now attack the face down card!" The ruby rock dragon thrusted a Ruby encrusted lance at the face down card revealed to be "Boot Up Soldier Dread Dynamo" (DEF 2000)

The attack was unsuccessful and Rubite returned to its original position.

"Yes, I too am in the Slifer Dorms!" Violet said quickly latching onto the topic Elliot started. "If things proceed well then we will most likely see more of each other." She smiled. [i]I wonder if I am doing this ok. This book is much more helpful than I first thought it would be. It was a very good thing I brought this before we left the Main Island.[/i]
"If I may ask, what kind of deck do you use? If my curiosity offends any of you I hope you can over look my mistake and allow me to remain in your good company." She said tapping her foot nervosly. What if she was doingthis whole thing wrong? They were the only two peope to not run away from her after she had introduced herself.

"I guess that's a good thing huh? We could really become great friends since we'll be seeing each other often." Elliot responded happily. On his very first day Elliot already made a new friend, and though she may be a bit eccentric, Elliot was glad to have met her. Hearing the question about his deck, Elliot remembered about the box. "Oh, my deck? And don't worry about your curiosity. This is Duel Academy so asking about a deck is normal. Well this maybe a bit embarrassing to say. You see, my deck is made from random cards that I found in the junkyard when I was a little kid." Elliot said with a nervous tone as he placed his hand behind his head.

"My deck is just one pile of random cards that probably won't work with each other that well. Even so, I've actually won some duels with them and even a small tournament so I guess my deck isn't all that bad, right?" Elliot explained nervously. Elliot was a bit embarrassed about his deck. This Duel Academy is one of prestige, and a deck like Elliot's doesn't seem to belong. A bit later into the conversation, Violet said a very strange thing aloud. "Run away?" Elliot asked in confusion, but finally understood the problem.

"Hey, umm, I don't want you to answer this if you don't want to, but, well, are you having trouble socializing with other people? I kinda got a hint of that from your behavior." Elliot asked nervously, not wanting to upset Violet or anything.

[i]Should I try the positive reinforcement thing I read about?[/i] Violet questioned in her head as she listened to Elliot talk about his deck. To be truthful she didn't see why where you got your cards from mattered. She observed his tone and the look on his face, and instantly started reading her book. [i]Oh! I see! So that means Ishould encourage him and make him feel comfortable![/i] "Elliot...I do not believe that it matters where you obtained your cards from." Violet started, "If you cherish them then that is all that matters."

He then said something about her communication skills and asked if she needed help. She froze staring at him for a few seconds, before a blush decorated her face from embaressment. "I-i...I regreat to admit that when it comes to...uh...Conversing with others it is not my strong suit. You are only the third person I have ever talked to on the outside of my estate." She held up her, [i]People and Communications[/i], book and said, "So I perchased this book to read and learn how to talk to others."

"The Aqua Stone, that's what they call you right?!" drake exclaimed causing Yurai to look discontent.

"'It's your move!" Yurai called

"Now I Summon Green Gadget in ATK mode!" (1400 ATK) suddenly a green little warrior gadget apepared next to Dread Dynamo. "now Dynamos effect while I control Green Gadget, he gains 2000ATK!"

"2000!?"

"Thats not all Green gadgets effect i add to my hand Yellow Gadget! Now i activate this! The Spell Card smashing ground! destroy your Saphite!"

A giant fist appeared from the Spell Card and destroyed The Shield rock dragon.

"Saphite!" Yurai called.

"Now Dread Dynamo attack Rubite!" Suddenly dread Dynamo headed for the Lancer Rock Dragon Rubite."

Yurai called out. "Trap Card Open! Quartz Rebound Result!"

After being one of the last students off the boat and getting lost. Lewis finally made it into the main hall, he felt excited and nervous at the same time of waiting for the assembly to begin. He walked towards the side that all the first years like himself sat, and sat in a random sat on that side.[i] It seems an mystery that I am late and yet the assembly still hasn't began yet, maybe we are waiting for someone[/i], Lewis thought as he stared straight where he was facing quietly and calmly, patiently waiting for the assembly to start. Eventually, after 5 minutes of waiting his patience was lost and he felt bored.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. My deck has helped me through a lot of situations. Thanks." Elliot smiled. He felt comfortable again knowing that it didn't matter what kind of deck he has. "(Wow, she's really nice. Even though the way she talks is pretty strange, she really knows how to make someone feel better.)" Elliot thought to himself. Later on as Violet explained her situation, Elliot listened in closely, hoping to find a way to help her. "Hmm, I see. So you have a little trouble with socializing, all you need is to speak to others more often and to express your feelings to others. Besides, you've already made a friend, me." Elliot smiled. "Umm, just out of curiosity but you said your estate? Do you come from a wealthy family or something?" Elliot asked.

Corey felt awkward just sitting there, listening to Violet and Elliot speak. "Well...that goes with my somewhat anti-social nature. Hopefully the assembly will start soon" he thought as he leaned back into his chair. As he awaited for the assembly, he took one of his decks out and looked at them card by card. Soon after, he started working out more combinations and strategies. Then, Corey's eyes fell upon his Black-Winged Dragon card. He looked at it in a puzzled manner. "I don't see how this card goes with the Blackwings...its strategy doesn't go with my deck...what am I supposed to do with it?" he thought, shaking his head.

Violet couldn't help but smile. She was glad she chose to sit behind these two, because she wasn't too sure if anyone else would've given her a chance. At Elliot's question Violet blinked confused. "Yes...Did you not know? Most can tell simply from my last name, Rockwell." Her eyes casted downwards, "Although I wish I was not in the Rockwell family. When in a high society family such a mine they expect you to always be on your best behavior otherwise the family's name could be tarnished. We did not leave the estate very often, it is quite large, and when we did it was always with a chaparone. So the only people I had to talk with were adults who were twice my age. So when I was allowed to come here I jumped at the chan-" Violet abruptly stopped speaking.

"I am sorry...My book says not too get carried away in a conversation. It could make the other party bored and want to leave." She then added in a quick haste, "Y-you do not want to leave do you?"

"Wait, the ROCKWELLS? Yeah I know that family. They're loaded." Elliot responded. He was surprised that Violet was apart of that family. Elliot listened to Violet as she talked about her life in the estate. He smiled as she continued to talk. She was opening up and talking normaly. When she stopped and apologized for her actions, Elliot just a gave a chuckle. "Why would I want to leave when we're having such an interesting conversation? This is good, the way you were talking just now. It felt very natural, I guess your improving." Elliot complimented. "You don't need to apologize for getting carried away. People always get carried away in their conversations, that's how we move onto other topics and become better friends." Elliot explained.

Finally, the assembly was beginning. The chancellor made his way onto stage. The chancellor was a man in his early to mid forties with nicely combed hair and clean-cut appearance. "Welcome students to Duel Academy!" the chancellor exclaimed proudly. Everybody was roaring with excitement. "Huh, oh I guess the assembly is beginning." Elliot said as he turned around and looked at the stage. "Now, first off, I would like to say that it is an honor to have a whole new set of young and skillful students eager to set their sights on the future and become amazing duelists. Throughout the next few years of your life, you'll encounter many wonderful memories, and I wish all of those memories will stay with you until your old." the chancellor continued.

As the assembly continued, the chancellor explained all of the rules and other noteworthy things about the Duel Academy. "Don't forget to go to your classes tommorow. Finally, let's make these years the best years of your young lives!" Upon ending the ceremony, everybody cheered and yelled in excitement. Now that the ceremony had ended. Everybody had the rest of the day off to get acquainted with their new home. "Well, guess that's over with." Elliot said to Corey and Violet.

"I draw!" Drake called. Drake smiled confidently as he looked at his field

"What's he planning?" Yurai thought to himself as suddenly Drake burst out laughing,

"It's over Aqua Stone! I activate my face down card! Ultimate Offering! And now I Summon Yellow Gadget" (1200 ATK) "And with his effect I bring to my hand Red Gadget! Now by the effect of Ultimnate Offering I pay 500 Life Points and Normal Smmon him!"

"Come out Red Gadget!" (1300 ATK) "Now face down activate! Stronghold The Moving Fortress!" (0 ATK) Suddenly a giant robot witht 3 holes in it's chest appeared.

"What is that a Monster Trap?!"

"Haha! Stronghold the Moving Fortress gains 3000 ATK while I control 1 each of Red, yellow and Green gadget!"

"3000?" Yuria questioned.

"Now the Spell Card Collected Assault!"

Drake looked on with confusion. "I Tribute 3 monsters I control the 2 Emberite's and 1 Saphite, to Special summon from my hand Quartz Sephrule Golem!" (2800 ATK)

Suddenly the ground shook as a giant golem covered in shinging purple crystals appeared, he roared as yurai stated.

Elliot didn't seem to mind when she started talking about her home life; in fact he said they were having an interesting conversation, and that they were friends. She wished that Cory had spoken with her as well but Elliot made up for it. "Thank you Elliot....This meant a great deal to me." She gave a genuin smile right before the assembly began, with some old guy talking. All of the kids started cheering in excitement, but Violet stayed quiet feeling a bit awkward with the whole thing. She was relieved when it was over. "Where are our lodgings? Have you any idea?" She asked Elliot and Cory.

"Well, I'll take this debating back to the dorm" Corey thought as he stood up. "I'm going to go settle in; See you two later" he waved to Elliot and Violet. "Oh, and nice meeting you, Violet" he smiled as he walked out of the arena. He continued to walk out the main building and strolled past the lake to the Obelisk dorms. Once he reached his room, he gasped in awe. Everything about it was pristine. The room itself was huge, complete with a sparkling bathroom, glimmering furniture, and cushy beds. Immediately, Corey threw himself, along with his bag and decks onto his bed. He looked upwards, and quickly fell asleep...

I guess I will go to the Ra Yellow Dorm and rest in my room, since I am going to be there for a maximum of a few years, I've got to get used to living there[/i], Lewis thought as he got up with the people in his row and walked out of the main building outside heading for his Dorm.

Once he opened the door into his room, he stared at it impressed. For one, it was an reasonably sized room, representing an rectangular size. The door was positioned on the longer side of the wall in the middle, coloured orange. An bunk bed was positioned exactly opposite from the door. On the right side of the room, was an wardrobe, while nearby was tables and four chairs surrounding them. On the left, was an window of the wall, while an desk was in line.The desk had an box, an laptop and several drawers containing Academy equipment. Lewis placed his bag next to the desk, while he sat on the chair and stared out the window to see an great view.

"See you later Corey. We should have a duel later to catch up." Elliot suggested as he waved goodbye to Corey. Elliot then turned back to Violet. "Hmm, I really have no clue." Elliot said as he lower himself in a disappointed and comical manner. Raising his body back up, Elliot walked over to a person who is also in Slifer Red. "Umm excuse me, do you happen to know where the Slifer Red Dorms are located at?" Elliot asked. "Oh sure, just follow me, I'm heading over there right now." the boy said. "Hey Violet, this guy saids he knows where the Slifer Red Dorms is at. Let's go." Elliot said and then followed the guy.

Soon after, they arrived at the Slifer Red Dorms. Elliot had a blank look on his face. "Umm, are you sure this is the Slifer Red Dorms? This looks more like a place where people in the army would sleep." Elliot said as he looked upon the dorm house with a comically disappointed expression. "Yep, well anyways, I gotta get going. See ya." the guy said and then left, leaving Elliot and Violet to just stand there.

"What in the world have I gotten myself into? I don't know if I'll be able to get used to a place like this...." Elliot said. "Let's see here." Elliot took out a ticket from his pocket. "Slifer Red Dorm, Room 12. Yep, definitely gotten myself into a mess...." Elliot said. He had an expression on his face that said, "I can't believe this is happening". "Umm, so I guess I'll be attempting to settle into my room. I'll see you later alright Violet?" Elliot said as he was back to his normal composture.

Alexander sighed. "I can't wait for this to end..." He said. "Attention students, we have arrived at Academy Island!" A voice said over the intercom. "Finally!" Alex cried. "I'm terribly seasick..." He walked off the boat, and quickly ran to his dorm. He entered his room. He had a horrible stomachache. "Ugh... where's some Ginger Ale when you need it..." He murmured. He had an idea. He walked to his fridge and found a can of Ginger Ale. "Yes!" He opened it up and drank it. "Mmm..." And his stomachache was gone. He checked his PDA. "Hmm... a message..." It was an announcement. All students are to report to the welcome dinner in their assigned dorms. "Yummy! I'm starving!" He yelled. He ran out his door and into the cafeteria where he dined like a prince. Then, he went back to his room and slept.

Drake drew a card, a sisnister smirk crossed his face as the two chubby boys next to him laughed.

Yurai looked on with caution, "what did he draw..."

"Oh!" yurai cautioned, "So this is the rare card he was talking about. Trap Card activate! Quartz Sacrifice!"

Violet was quiet the entire walk to the dorms. She was too busy taking in the sights, though with the only thing to look at being the trees she decided to read more of her book. Once they made it to the Slifer Red dorms her eyes widened. "This...Is where they expect us to reside for the remainder of the year?" She said. Slowly a smile came to her face and her eyes shone with rising excitement. "It is simply wonderful! I could not imagine a more better place! It is so much different from home and if my parents could see this they would have a right fit! But to me it could not be more perfect than it is now." Quickly turning to Elliot she asked, "Do you not think so? A refreshing change, yes?" When she Elliot looking at his ticket she did the same, but with her own. "I am in room 17. I wonder where that is."

"Probably on the top floor."

"Are there rooms in the back?"

"Most likely so." She finished her conversation with herself.

"O-oh, yes, I do hope we can see more of each other." Violet answered his question before asking one of her own. "If we see each other again....Is that what people calling "Chilling", "Hanging out", or a "Date"? Furthermore, I do not understand why one would want to "chill" or "hang" in the first place." She said raising her hands for motion of quotation marks.

Yurai and Trak both walked around the academy, they were searching for something to do, new people to meet, their adventure led them to the roof of the academy, trak and Yurai both sat on the edge of the roof, they looked out at the distant ocean. "So is it true?" Trak asked.

"Is what true?" Yurai questioned in kind.

"I've never asked you this but they say you can breath under water for 10 minutes?" trak then began to laugh, he had assumed that it was a lame joke, but when he sw yurai witht he same expression stated. "Really? Y-You cann? that's amazing!"

"I think it was from that time, I had a feeling someone was breathing for me, but I could feel it, since then whenever I went to swim I could go deeper then anyone older and younger then me and stay under for longer, I don't mind it." yurai stated as he chuckled and then stood up. He then took a big yawn. "To think We've alreayd been here for a year.

Trak also stood up and smiled. "Yea, Time really flies doesn't it."

"Y-Yea..." Yurai agreed.

Elliot looked at Violet with a confused expression as she talked about the dorm as if it were something grand. "(Well I didn't expect hearing that.... but I guess it's a refreshing change from her normal life.)" Elliot thought to himself as his confused expression turned into a happy one seeing Violet describing the dorm with such vibrant energy. "a refreshing change, umm, I guess you could call it that. At least we have a great view of the ocean right?" Elliot answered as he took in the fresh air. "The ocean wind really helps you relax." Elliot said.

When Violet began talking to him again, Elliot turned around to face her with a really pleasant smile. He was much calmer now thanks to the fresh air. Once he heard the word "Date", Elliot backed up and his face turned red. "D-D-Date?" Elliot stuttered. "(R-Relax Elliot, relax.)" Elliot's face quickly turned back to normal and he placed his hand behind his head and gave a laugh. "Haha, well I guess those slangs just refer to relax and have a pleasant conversation with one another." Elliot responded, trying to forget about the "Date" part before his face turned red again.

Yurai and Trak both continued to look out at the distant ocean. Yurai folded his arms and flicked his hair to the side. "You know Trak." yurai began. "We've never actually duelled each other have we?"

Trak began thinking to hiimself and stroked his chin. "No, no I don't think we have."

Yurai clenched his fists. "Then we don't we have one now?" he asked with excitment.

Trak smiled and looked out at the ocean. "I'd rather not."

"Huh? Why?" Yurai questioned with confusion.

"As far as i'm concerned we're both great duelists, I don't think we have to deliberatly try to break that bond by seeing who's better."

Yurai thought for a moment then smiled, he put his ahnd on Trak's shoulder. "Yea, I agree."

"The ocean breeze?" Violet mumbled to herself remembering the first, and last time she went to the beach. It was two years ago with her two older brothers and the first time she didn't have to worry about anything except having fun. Now that was a nice change. Elliot's stuttering brought her back to reality. Her brow knitted together in confusion, and her head tilted slightly to the side. What on earth was wrong with him? She quickly opened her book and after a few seconds she figured it out. "I see! You were stuttering and your face turned red. That means that you are embarressed! Hm, either that or sick? Which one are you?"

"Embarrassed?! Me? No way! Of course I'm not embarrassed. Why would I be embarrassed haha!" Elliot said quickly. "(Keep cool Elliot, you're losing it.)" Elliot thought to himself before finally turning towards the ocean. "Hey isn't this ocean so big and, uhh, blue?! You know, maybe I am a little bit sick, but I'm all better now so thanks for worrying." Elliot said, trying desperately to change the subject. "{Rumble} Uhh...." Elliot said as he rest his hand on his stomach. "I think I was in such a hurry this morning that I completely forgot about breakfast...." Elliot said, showing a comically depressed expression on his face while leaning a bit forward.

Yurai and Trak both walked out of the academy and decided to make their way towards the Slifer Red dorms. "I guess we could pay a visit to Jeano?"

"Haha! Oh Jeano he still hiding?"

"You could call it that, doing his hair for so long, his still on Slifer Red right?"

"Yea." Trak stated.

Yurai began to think to himself, Jeano was one of the only other guys that Yurai could talk to, a funny guy, never hated anyone and never judged, italian to.

"Let's pay jeano a visit, it's been quite a long time, since the last time we saw him."

Yurai and Trak both walked over the small gras hill that led tot he sight of the slifer red dorms, noticably one of the kids Yurai saw earlier was standing talking to a girl, Elliot? was the name he overheard.

"hm another friend, yea that kid will do fine here." Yurai thought to himself, the 2 long blue coated Obelisk students walked past Elliot and the girl, Yuria smiled and nodded whilst walking past and up the stairs towards a certain slifer dorm room. Trak Smiled widly and gave a little wave as he walked past.

Violet couldn't help but giggle at Elliot's strange behavior. "Well maybe you are sick because you have not eaten anything yet. Maybe we should find a place to eat. They should have a dining hall-No, oh what do you all call it..ah, a cafeteria- in there right?" She questioned somehow figuring that Elliot knew his way around better, even though he needed directions to get to the dorms. [i]I am kind of hungry myself...I doubt the have room service here. I can not believe how different it is out here.[/i]
