Grunt Issun
I was recently playing LoZ OoT, and when I was in dodongos cavern, I forgot how to make the head open up, I knew it had somthing to do with bombs, so I jump INTO the eyes, and place a bomb INSIDE them, thus basicly commiting suicide TWICE just to open it up, later I go online and look at a walkthrough for the next part, and see that you were supposed to DROP the bombs from the bridge. Oh well, at lease I solved it like a badass... or an emo... or both Anyway, discuss Alternate puzzle solving you've done in games, and if they were fulll of badassity
Spoon
Just recently, I played Okami. In this Wind Temple thingy, you get, obviously, the Whirlwind ability (or whatever it's called in english). Later, you have to use it to rise some platforms in order to cross the higher path of some pillars, which finally leads to the boss of the dungeon. However, my [s]stupidity[/s] badassery saved me from using this boring strategy. Instead, I climbed the pillars as normal, jumped up in the air, used a wall jump from the highest possible point at the pillar behind me (using the wall jump on a round object isn't exactly easy), half over the gap, then used the dash in the opposite direction to cross the gap and barely landing on the next pillar. Only 2 left. It took me at least 20 tries to do it, but I finally made it. My wall jump skills saved me this time! 5 hours later in the game, I came to similar spot, but this time I had no chance using any kind of wall jump because I had no wall behind me. So yeah, I looked in the internet, found out which technique to use and then gave myself a big fat facepalm. I deserved it.
PsymonSSX3
In SSX 3, You Have to [s]get a Certain ammount of Points[/s] Beat Mac pointwize in the Backcountry. Instead of trying to beat him right away, I kept Quitting so that it would show as a DNF to see what range of scores he got. (45000-65000 typicaly) Then I didn't ven pay atention to Mac's score. I just tryed to get into the range he normally got! not badassary but very smart! XD
