Hey I'm a ninja I play drums but my hair isn't that long. But nice meeting the real you.

Could you hook me up with some drumming tabs i could use in my band? We really have trouble when it comes to drumming (our drummer tries to be some kind of neil purt or chris adler or something).

Im a dude' date=' for any of those curious (long hair doesn't make you a girl)

That's me...yes i know i have extremely long hair, but i play guitar in a band...so it's kind of required....:?

I'm considering getting a tattoo that looks like this:

Should I?

(I'm 15)

Hey, I used to have long hair too. I'm a drummer, and no it's not required to have long hair, infact, it's a BAD idea to have long hair while playing, because it gets in your eyes and you can't see what you're doing. That's mainly why I cut my hair, plus because I had a desperate change in life.

And no you should not get a tatoo...But that's my opinion, you get a tatoo only if YOU want to...

I dont really look at the guitar when I play, I just really practice a lot and kinda get used to the frets.

My guitar playing steps:

1. Spend hours playing random riffs

2. Create TABs for a riff i like

3. Practice it over and over

4. Play it, no need looking at frets.

Yes, I guess that would work, if you can read and memorize TABs, instead of scales. I read music outside of tablature, I'm more of a Notation Musician, like the ABCDEFG, Sharos, and Flats person, memorizing scales, bass chords, arpejios, *excuse my spelling*, as well as articulation. Like decrecendo and crecendo, retardando, accellarando. All the grand stuff like that. It helps me, but oh well...what ever makes it easier for you, you just have to know, that it's not ALL about trying to be hardcore and knowing where everything is, it's being able to sight read music...or read music and play it without ever practicing it..And so far, I'm a master at it.

I can read music, but when I make a simple riff I dont bust out staffs and treble clefs. It's much more simple when you're in a hurry to just right down a quick sample of tablature.. Plus it's much more easy to comprehend for soemone new to music to read. Also, I always put the tempo at the top of my TABs.

Good' date=' you are sensable, unlike most "Hardcore" musicians who only do abunch of 16th notes and hope they get the timing down, when actually, the timing they have is horrible even on the recording...lol

Actually, my biggest influence is Steve Vai. Also, you might not believe me, like many other great metal guitarists, I started out basing my guitar riffs on classical music :/ I know, right? But hey it worked out. Take something with classical guitar in it, switch it over to electric, pitch in a few squealies, and it sounds really good.

Actually, I wouldn't have been surprised. Steve Vai is a good player. Though, if you have ever tried to play Pettrucci's stuff, now that's something to look up to...(Guitarist of Dream Theater)

But let's carry this wayward sun to a PM, (lol always wanted to say that) let other people have their topic-back.
