Servant's attack command faltered as he saw some strange person try to defend the Signer, and again when the Signer talked about hell. "Hell! Hell! Hell! That's all you ever seem to think about!" He declared suddenly, to his own surprise. "Face despair at its final moments! Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity! I shall no longer hesitate! This is my moment! My chance! ZETSUBOU! Signer, this is the end for you! The third end for you! And if you return, I'll just kill you again, and again, and AGAIN, until entropy destroys everything! Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, attack directly! INFINITY BLAST! ! ! ! !" And a huge white laser came from the chest Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, heading towards the Signer.

Teslarc watched the blast head for the doomed Signer. "Lucky b*****d." She muttered as she anticipated the inevitable.

A shadowy figure snuck into the records room and started punching in numbers, trying to find something. She kept searching and searching through student records, until she noticed a slight inconsistency in the record of a certain Elisa. She was just about to pursue the matter further until the door slid open.
"What are you doing here?" An old-sounding voice asked the mysterious woman.

Alex stumbled to the ground once more as Drake shoved him aside.

"Alex, you have to get out of there, now!" warned Umbris

"Drake...," Alex said, a sad anger seething in him, "... Drake, you f*cking A$$h0le! You think that you're just gonna keep come back again and again for all of eternity?! What the hell is this to you, a f*cking video game?!!"

"Alex, hurry!" Umbris yelled urgently as the Machine Emperor unleashed its attack.

"Dammit, Umbris, shut up...!" said the lombax to his spirit partner. "I can't just stand by and watch people suffer!"

"But--!"

"Listen to me, Drake!" Alex demanded of his soon-to-be-dead boss, "You may not have been the most trustworthy person I've ever met, but I'll be damned myself if I were to hate you for this. I may not trust you anymore... but I'll forgive you eventually. If what you say is true, and you do come back, you and I have a lot of talking to do, but afterwards...." He trailed off mid-sentence to give Drake an odd smile, one filled with anger and sorrow. "Just... get back soon, alright...?" Tears would have been visible on his face were it not for his already storm-soaked fur obscuring any signs of tears. He backed away enough to be out of range of the attack.

When the smoke cleared, however, Drake was beaten and bruised, but still alive (LP: 200) "OK, that hurts like a b*tch." He muttered, "You really should pay attention to my cards. When I Ritual Summoned Knight of Dark Dragons, I used Red-Eyes Wyvern as the cost. When he's in my Graveyard during my End Phase, if I haven't Normal Summoned or Set a Monster, I can Remove him from Play to Special Summon one Red-Eyes Monster in my Graveyard. Your 'direct attack' really was just targeting my Red-Eyes Black Dragon... who was apparently upset because he thinks I replaced him with Life Stream." He sighed, "Ugh, I've gotta live with this guy for my entire life, plus my last two lives." The murderer/teacher spat blood out of his mouth, "Ugh, how the Hell am I gonna explain that to whatever nurse is unlucky enough to be on call tonight?" He held his mouth open and let the rain wash in in an attempt to rinse out some of the blood, "Ugh, I'm kicking your f*cking ass, you know that."

Alex stared on in total shock as the dust cleared to reveal that Drake had barely survived the attack. "I... I don't believe this...," he blurted out, stumbling back into a seated position on the wet ground. "I swear, it's like everything tonight's just messing with my head...!" Alex started to laugh, for a number of reasons, two of them being that he was relieved that Drake was still alive (odd, considering that Drake was a mass murderer) and that he was at his wit's end at that point, what with the Machine Emperor and Signer Dragons and Marks of the Dragon and that accursed image of Umbris getting killed...!

Alex fell silent a few seconds later and slumped over, appearing to have passed out....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"... as I was trying to say," spoke Wulf after a coughing fit that seemed endless, "the individual who... now goes by the pseudonym Fenrir... was... no, IS, my partner. When he first... started dueling... he used a Lightsworn Deck.... That was how... we first met...." (Luisa resisted the urge to bring up any yaoi references.) "But... seven years ago... he just... ran off, and when I found him next... he was a different... person. I fear it was do... to the spirit of Lycanthrope."
"Seven years ago...," Luisa thought to herself. "That was around the same time that...." She interrupted her train of thought to ask, "But then, why continue to hang around him? Why not simply return to the Lightsworns?"
A sad look could be seen in Wulf's startling blue eyes. "I... had made a wager with Lycanthrope... a wager that... I was unable to win... as a result... I became a slave... to Lycanthrope....
"Still, I continue on... to find a way, some way... to free my partner... from that fiend... even if I must forfeit my own being... to do so...," Wulf said as a tear ran down his cheek.
"... but you're doing it alone," Luisa replied. "Haven't you ever considered asking for help, or something?
"Wish I could," answered Wulf, who then gave a sad laugh. "Wish I had, even... I should have asked the others... to help me...."
At this, Luisa had an idea. "Wulf, you can ask for help now," she told him. "I can try to help you!"
"Are you... certain...?" Wulf asked her, surprised to have been given such an offer. "But... how will you do this by yourself...?"
"I have... friends," Luisa told him. "They can help me help you. We don't have to do everything alone, you know," she added with a slight smile.
Wulf returned a weak smile of his own. "Bless you," he told her as his body was slowly becoming translucent.
"What's happening to you?!"
"It's okay," said the Lightsworn to the confused Luisa as he continued to fade. "I'm just... waking up... which means I... only have enough time to tell you.... His name, his real name... is Wolfram... Collingwood...." With those last words, Wulf disappeared for the realm of subconsciousness....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After a while in this state, Alex got up from the ground once more, keeping his eyes closed for some reason. "Drake," said the lombax, in a tone of voice that seemed slightly different than normal, "you had better make this next turn count. You'll know what to do, I hope...," he added as he opened his eyes, revealing that they had turned from the usual emerald color to a deep blue.

"%$#@%$#@%$#@%$#@%$#@!" Servant said. "How dare you live! %$#@ you! Now you're going to draw a card when I end my turn and you're going to draw some miraculous card that would turn this entire duel against me and then you would probably get Life Stream Dragon back and then attack me for game! Seriously! Am I never to win a duel?! I hate you! Despair for you! DESPAIR! DESPAIR! ZEETTTSSSSUUUUUUBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!! &%$#. . ." He continued to swear until he remembered he hadn't ended his turn yet. ". . Oh, and turn end."

Drake chuckled as he drew his card, "I activate Card of Reversal... When I have no other cards in my hand or on the field, I draw one card for each card you control." Six cards popped out of the Signer's Deck and he let a wicked smile cross his features, "First, I activate Heavy Storm, destroying all Spell and Trap cards on the field, including Life Stream Dragon. Then, I Summon the Level 1 Tuner Monster Attack Gainer and activate the Spell Cards Nightmare Binding and Soul Charge. Nightmare Binding's effect transfers 800 of your Wisel Infinity's ATK points to my Life Points while Soul Charge lets me Special Summon one Monster in my Graveyard by paying 500 Life Points. Be reborn, Power Tool Dragon!" The black armored humanoid Drake summoned was joined by the familiar golden 'toy dragon' "Power Tool Dragon's effect activates, letting me add one Equip Spell Card to my hand from my Deck." A card popped out of the middle of Drake's Deck again, "Now, I set one card face-down and activate Shining Rebirth, allowing me to Synchro Summon a Synchro Monster in my Graveyard!" Attack Gainer turned into a single ring that Power Tool Dragon flew through before his armor started shattering off again piece by piece, ""Guardian of the Dragon, come forth. Appear now in a blaze of glory. Synchro Summon! Evolve, Life Stream Dragon!" The Sixth Signer's Dragon roared loudly and bolstered Drake's Life Points back to 4000, "Now, I could attack you right now and win this Duel, you know that, I know that. But it's that arm that annoys me." He pointed out Wisel Guard 3, "You Summoned all four of your Wisel pieces in Attack position, except that one, Wisel Guard, I believe its name is. Now, given its name and position, I'm thinking that it redirects attacks, am I right?" He held up the last card in his hand, the Equip Spell that he searched out with Power Tool's effect, "My Deck gives me just what I need just when I need it. I equip Life Stream Dragon with Big Bang Shot, increasing his ATK by 400 points and giving him the ability to inflict piercing damage! Life Stream Dragon, attack his Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity!"

Servant knew this was going to happen. He took a step back. He had only 150 Life Points left, and he had no way to counter. There was no possible counter. None at all. The chest of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity was hit by the attack and it exploded. The rest of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity followed suit, causing a big explosion, which left real black smoke covering the area (LP 0). Servant took advantage of the smoke. "We will meet again, Signer!" He said as he made his escape across the black smoke. He ran past the person who had tried to defend the Signer earlier, grabbed his backpack, and ran off into the forest. Things would have to work differently. The black smoke would clear after a minute or so.

Teslarc was incredibly disappointed that Drake did not die, and that Servant was getting away. She bolted after Servant, very slowly gaining on him but still a ways off. As she headed into the forest, she received new orders from Itsu, but she wondered if she could rebel and not follow these orders, instead choosing her own path...

"Umm...hi, Professor!" Sola greeted the elderly man as she turned off the computer.
"What is such a fine young lady like yourself doing up here in the middle of this terrible stormy night?"
"I could ask you the same question."
"Well, I was just about to get some more coffee. I'm staying up late, working on these darn tests!"
"Would you like some assistance, sir?"
The senior citizen smiled, showing off his dentures. "That would be marvelous!"
The two walked down the hall, talking about various school-related subjects.

Even through the smoke that erupted from the Machine Emperor's destruction, Alex (?) could still see the young man run past him as he made his escape. Alex (?) noticed that the young man had grabbed a backpack that was laying next to a tree nearby, wondering if he was perhaps a student. Still, without being able to tell what color the backpack was, there was no way for him to identify the young man again if he was to see him.

"Sheesh, so that's a bearer of a Machine Emperor?" Alex (?) mused to himself. "If the other Emperors are like that...." He heaved a sigh before continuing, "... by Devine Neos, I'm really going to need a lot of therapy when this is over."

Once the smoke cleared, Alex (?) approached Drake and asked, "Well, this was a rather eventful day, wasn't it? And all before classes have actually begun, too," he added, his irises having an unusual blue glow to them.

Servant, after being sure that there was no one around, climbed up into a tree. It was humiliating, but he had no choice. First he changed his clothes into his Slifer Red Dorm uniform, and then he took scissors, and cut his own hair until it was short. He had a mirror to check. Then he took contact lens which changed changed his eye color from red to blue. Then he took used powder to erase his two large black marks on his cheeks. He knew how disguises actually worked, and he knew that this was sufficient. So long as he was viewed on a casual view. He jumped from the tree, and walked back to the Slifer Red Dorm. That was easy enough.

But waiting for him at the edge of the forest was a familiar red and black armored knightess, this time brandishing a very nasty, yet very strange-looking, sword. "Hello. I followed you here. I know who you are, though what you are is still up in the air." She raised her sword as if she was to strike Servant down, but she instead thrust her blade into the ground, kneeling before Servant with her helmeted head down. "I wish to assist you. If I feed you intel and feed the Signers false intel, will you tell me why you stole the Machine Emperors, and where the Machine Emperors come from?"

Servant was suddenly confused. If he said Yes then if she were to betray him, everything goes down the hill. On the other hand, if he said No, then he would be even more clueless. He still needed to gather the Sky and Grand Emperors, after all, although he had no idea where they were anymore. Yes was the more beneficial option, he decided. "Fine, then, stranger." He said. "For some reason, I find you somewhat familiar, but chances are tha-. . . wait, you followed me here? Does that mean you watched me change? ARGH! PERVERT! SERIOUSLY! DESPAIR FOR YOU!'

Teslarc stood up and dismissed her blade. "I am Teslarc the Anti. What I am am 'Anti' of is none of your business, but you may speculate if you wish. Currently, I possess a method of Synchro Summoning beyond the capabilities of the Signers. In fact, the only way they can access this method is by using my cards." She then whipped out an ornate black box with a small deck of cards inside. "Plus, I have these cards: the Black Dragon Gods of Egypt, along with the Sacred Guardian Beasts and The Creator. These are the original prints, with Horus being the only Black Dragon God that was able to be printed. The other five were much too powerful for normal play, making them perfect against the Signers."

"I don't care about all that!" He replied. "You followed me. . . and then that means you watched me change! Seriously! PERVERT! Despair, much? And besides, I don't care about gods." He thought back to the thousands of years of torture in that laboratory for a moment. "I've had enough gods in my lifetime. Is it enough to quit with gods? My former master Maximus owned a god card, who was called Melek Taus. Let's just leave it at that. And also, you pervert! I know you watched me change! Honestly, privacy much? Really! Pervert! Despair!"

Teslarc did not comment on the "pervert" rant, but she motioned for Servant to stop when he mention his master. "Wait. Did you say 'Maximus'? As in 'Protheus Maximus'?" She then started to laugh as her helmet retracted into her armor, revealing that she looked exactly like Itsu, but with several scars on her face and cold, steely eyes. "You see, I am the creation of Itsu Solace, your master's arch-nemesis. However, instead of serving the one I was modeled after, I have rebelled, and I will actually be working for you from now on."

"You knew my former master?" Servant asked. "Then again, you're the creation of HER. SHE who was hated greatly by my former master, yes, Protheus Maximus. I am his former experiment, but his successor freed us all. Half of us left, of course, but the rest stayed gratefully. I am doing the will of my new master, but at the same time I am also doing the will of someone else. If you do help me with dealing with the Signers, then I will tell you about that someone else, and also about the Machine Emperors. Although that doesn't change the fact that you watched me change, pervert."

James was almost to the Slifer Dorm when he noticed the giant robot had disappeared. "What is going on today?" He accelerated his d-wheel, close to the Slifer dorm, his drago head mark was glowing with a very dim light. "I really don't like the looks of this." He finally reached the Slifer dorm, noticing Drake and a rather hairy man he had never seen before. He slowed as he aproached the two of them. "Drake, are you alright?"

Jasmine, who had just fallen asleep was tossing and turning in her bed. What she saw in her dream was a huge creature in the darkness with and infinity sign on it, but she couldn't see where. To her right, facing the creature, was James with Stardust dragon, and Drake wiht a golden-skinned dragon she had never seen before. Out of the infinity sign on the creature came glowing threads wrapping around Stardust Dragon and pulling it into it's infinity symbol. This occured again, only this time to the golden-skinned dragon. When the creature finished absorbing the secodn dragon, it's arm reached out to her, as if to crush her. She then woke up before the creature did so. Cold sweat dripping from her face. "James... Drake... I've got a bad feeling about this.

Drake, who was bleeding a little from the cuts on his arms and sides that he got thanks to Wisel's Direct Attack, just laughed, "You missed me kicking some giant robot's ass." He told James, scoffing in the direction Servant ran off to, "Toy robot my ass..." He muttered, slipping his single bladed Duel Disk onto his back and holding up Life Stream Dragon's card and flicking it towards James, "My Signer Dragon's stronger than your Signer Dragon." The murderer said, looking at his Mark, which had gone back to being the Body instead of whatever warped shape it was trying to turn into earlier.

"I saw the robot from the stadium." James smirked at the sight of the new dragon. "So you finally got your dragon. It's about time." He turned to the hairy man he noticed earlier. "Now, who are you?" Thinking back to the stadium, he remembered this guy standing up to Drake. "Hey I remember you, but I didn't catch your name." James held out his hand, his Dragon Head mark still glowing as dim as before.

Jack, who was still shocked by what had happened, after noticing the pain in his arm finally stopped, walked back in his room and got in bed. "What a crazy day..." He fell asleep soon after.

After things were settled, Servant continued on. He had circled around so when he came out, he would come out in a direction different from the one he came in, thus lowering suspicion even more. His infinity powers were resting, and that too lowered suspicion. He glanced in the direction of the Signer which he had earlier faced, but this time just ignored him. There seemed to another Signer there as well. "Hi, there!" He said in a disguised voice. "Is this the Slifer Red Dorm? I've been lost for a while, especially since I lost my map."

What the others may not have realized at that point was that it was not Alexander who had control of his own body, but Umbris, the Neo-Spacian Dark Panther. The moment that Alexander had passed out, Umbris took control soon after, so as to continue supporting the others anyway he could while Alex's mind slept.

This was why, at this point when James asked who he was, Umbris had to improvise, something that, given his reputation as one of the Spirit World's elite impersonators , he was quite professional at.

"Alexander Abernathy is the name," Umbris said, mimicking Alex's voice perfectly as he shook the Signer's hand. "I'm one of the more, eh... recent professors here at Slifer Red, having worked here for at least a year and a half." As he spoke, Umbris kept Alex's eyes closed, so as not to confuse the young man as to why his eyes would be green later. "I see that you're already acquainted with Drake. I think it's good to know that he has a few people that he's, uh... friendly to." Umbris turned Alex's head to look at Rayos. "I'm sorry that we must cut our chat short, but there are some matters that I need to discuss with one of my colleagues," said Umbris apologetically before striding over to where Rayos stood, only stopping to talk with another young man who had just shown up.

"Lost, you say? Poor kid, you must have been wondering around all night. I suggest you get to your room and get some rest; you have classes in the morning, after all." With that, Umbris, as Alex, bid the young man adieu before finally reaching Rayos.

"Mr. Rayos," Umbris said in a low voice, dropping his "Alexander" expression. "It's me, Umbris. We need to talk, and I'd like to do so quickly; I don't want to tire out Alex's body more than it should."

Drake smirked and took his card back, wincing as he did so, "And with that pain in the ass movement, I'm going to go to my room, take a shower, and work on stitching these cuts. Class in the morning is gonna be a b*tch to teach." He told James, walking off to his room, "That's if I have enough students that aren't out with the flu from being caught in this rain, of course."

"I know, Umbris. You look like a Spirit to me." Rayos told him, looking up, "Drake's got a point though, you and I can't get sick, but Alexander can and probably will if you keep him out in this rain for long. Go to his room and put him to bed, then just leave his body and come see me."

"You're right," Umbris admitted. "I'll be right back." Umbris had Alex's body jog up the steps to his room, take a quick shower and lay in bed, covering up with an extra quilt to stay warm. Once Alex was comfortably in bed, Umbris then separated himself from Alex and, after assuming the form of a black-furred lombax, exited Alexander's room and met up with Rayos once more.

"Sorry for the wait," said the Neo-Spacian as he approached Rayos. "Now, there are some things that I wanted to discuss with you, primarily about how and why Alex suddenly acquired a Mark of the Dragon.

"I've been residing within him for quite some time now," Umbris said, "but never have I sense anything in him related to the Crimson Dragon; he never even had a "Birthmark", and yet this evening it just appeared... ... well, actually, it didn't appear suddenly, but rather during a duel... but even my memory of that duel is a little hazy. As far as Alex knows, that whole duel may as well have been a dream, but... personally, I believe it actually happened, I just can't quite... understand how myself...."

Servant continued on to his door number, and went inside. He had the room all to himself, it seemed. He sat down on the bed and sighed. Honestly, next time, I'm going kamiyami with Wisel. I'll summon all Level Five pieces. It'll be easy. And thus he began forming a new strategy, one that was indestructible. . . . Wisel Top Five, combined with that continuous spell card. . . . . impenetrable defense. . . . . . Archfiend Empress. . . . . . . . . des. . . pair. . . . . . . And Servant drifted off to sleep. Even he needed sleep, after all.
