As soon as the Sprocket hit the field, Drake's Mark again started pulsating and warping on his arm. "Six, calm the f*ck down!" He screamed, "Double Tool C&D equipped to Power Tool Dragon." He panted as his dragon's needle turned into a drill while his shovel hand turned into a reciprocating saw, "The Monster equipped with Double Tool gains 1000 ATK and, during my turn, the effects of any Monster it battles with are negated. Meaning that your Archfiend Matador is nothing but a 0 ATK Monster. Power Tool Dragon, show this pathetic excuse of a Duelist what a so-called 'toy dragon' can do!"[/color]

[color=darkred][b]"This game is over![/b] Activate trap card, HATE BUSTER!"[/color] Servant declared. His face-down card opened up, revealing the trap card Hate Buster. Archfiend Matador showed itself, and its form and then suddenly it grew as large as Power Tool Dragon. Suddenly, Power Tool Dragon was frozen in mid-air, and a red aura began to surrounding the Archfiend Matador. The red aura turned into flames, and both monsters were surrounded with flames. The flames began to grow and grow and grow. [color=darkred]"Hate Buster is my favorite card. You see, when a Fiend-Type monster I control is selected as an attack target, I can destroy both monsters and inflict to you the original Attack points of the attacking monster! Your Life Points are 2300, Power Tool Dragon's ATK is 2300, this game is over!"[/color]

Drake said as Power Tool's laser cannons exploded and shielded him from the blast, "If my dragon would be destroyed under any circumstances, I can destroy one Equip Spell Card instead. And, if you don't destroy both of our Monsters, your Hate Buster can't inflict damage." The flames surrounding Power Tool were extinguished, leaving only Archfiend Matador to burn, "Now, since your Matador's destroyed, I can just wage a Direct Attack on your Life Points! Power Tool, finish him off!"[/color]

[color=darkred]"My memory sucks.[/color]" Servant muttered to himself. [color=darkred]"Activate second trap card, Convert Ghost! It allows me to change the Attack of a monster you control into a monster in the grave! I redirect that attack of yours to the Archfiend Empress in my grave! (ATK 2900)"[/color] The monster earlier destroyed by Red-Eyes Black Dragon then reappeared in front of Power Tool Dragon and kicked it away, before striking at it. [color=darkred]"You may be able to negate the destruction of Power Tool Dragon, but you cannot negate the Battle Damage! Archfiend Empress, attack that toy dragon from the grave!"[/color]

[color=red]"Double Tool's effect." Drake stated as his dragon's tools started spinning faster and faster, "During my turn only, Power Tool Dragon's ATK is increased by 1000." Power Tool Dragon's ATK was still bolstered to 3300 and he ripped through Archfiend Empress's ghost with ease, "You're hanging on by a mere 150 Life points, I'm at 2300. This Duel is over." The murderer told his opponent, looking right at Alexander over his shoulder, as if to say 'Now do you get why I Summoned him?' "Your hand is at 0, you have no Monsters, and your only set Trap is the only thing keeping Sinister Sprocket from Attacking you directly and winning this Duel for me."[/color]

Wildheart scoffed at Moon Star's declaration. "Do you listen to yourself?" He got up from the floor. "You honestly want to give our world more reason to hate you guys? Do you think that's what Mark wants?" he asked Dewloren and Moon Star, taking a few steps forward. "Do you think he wants you to wipe out the Lightsworns, or any one in general, just because they despise you for what you've "done"?" By now, Wildheart has stopped just three feet away from the two guardians.

"You feel that I've betrayed you? That what I've done makes me a coward, a traitor, a disgrace? So be it. But just know that I'm sticking out my neck for you guys, regardless of what our prior histories are. I may even face judgment for doing so, but do you think I'll regret it?" he asked them. He shook his head slowly. "Not one bit."

Alex sighed. "If his opponent's face-down is no good, victory is assured for Drake," he said to Umbris. "Can't say I'm surprised."

"Not if Drake has anything to say about it...," Alexander said, fearing that bloodshed may result from this duel....

... Luisa found herself in an unusual space, one seemingly devoid of light and yet she can see herself as clear as day. She wandered around in search of someone, or something; first at a steady walk, then a jog, and finally a full out run (and yet she felt as though she wasn't going any faster). She ran for quite some time, failing to find anyone until she saw another "glowing" figure in the distance. It took her a few minutes of running to finally reach the figure, a snow-white furred humanoid wolf in white armor, who had collapsed on the floor, face down, not moving.

"Wulf?" She knelt down and tried to nudge the werewolf awake. "Wulf, wake up!"

The Lightsworn Beast moaned weakly as he attempted to open his eyes, only managing to open them a small way. [font="Book Antiqua"]"Where... am I...?"[/font]

"You tell me," asked Luisa. "I mean, I thought I was on a houseboat a few minutes ago, but now...."

[font="Book Antiqua"]"... ah...,"[/font] Wulf said weakly, seemingly understanding what was happening. [font="Book Antiqua"]"This must be... the realm of... the subconscious. My... dear child... we're in a dream...."[/font]

"A dream? But how can we be having the same dream? Unless... you're just a figment of my dream."

[font="Book Antiqua"]"Just a... figment?"[/font] Wulf replied slowly, giving a hollow chuckle. [font="Book Antiqua"]"So... this is... how low I've sunk...."[/font]

"Well, if you're not a figment," Luisa asked, "then how'd you get here? And what happened to you? You look like someone put you in a blender and pressed the puree button."

The Lightsworn gave a pained laugh at Luisa's comment. [font="Book Antiqua"]"My, what a... morbid sense of... humor."[/font] He coughed a bit, trying to turn over onto his back yet only managing to get onto his side. [font="Book Antiqua"]"I suppose... to answer... your question, I believe I'm here... because... of the punishment... that I've... received. And no... the punishment... did not involve a... blender of... any sort,"[/font] he added with another pained chuckle, [font="Book Antiqua"]"but... I was... tortured, nonetheless...."[/font]

"But why?" Luisa asked, now starting to feel sorry for the white werewolf. "Just because that Fenrir guy didn't like you disobeying him?"

Another pained laugh from the Lightsworn (or was it more of a cough?). [font="Book Antiqua"]""Fenrir"?"[/font] he repeated. [font="Book Antiqua"]"That... is not his... true name... I don't know why... he is now... calling himself... by that name...."[/font]

"Wait, so you [i]know[/i] him?" a confused Luisa asked. "I mean, [i]know him[/i], know him?"

[font="Book Antiqua"]"Of course...,"[/font] replied the werewolf. [font="Book Antiqua"]"... I've been... with him for... ... for as long as... he has been... able to duel...."[/font]

Luisa gasped. "You mean... you're his Spirit Partner?"

[font="Book Antiqua"]"Yes... yes, I am his partner,"[/font] Wulf replied with a cough. [font="Book Antiqua"]"Or at least... I was... before...,"[/font] he said before being interrupted by a violent coughing fit.

[color=blue]"Mark gave you his word that he will turn himself in when this crisis is solved, but should you come for him before then, he will not put up a fight." The Spirit World's Moon King told Wildheart, "However, Dewloren and I never made that same promise. We will fight tooth and nail to protect our King, just as you would to protect Luisa. We will not seek out your assassins, at least giving you that advantage, but we will defend ourselves against them as soon as we catch wind of their presence. When your assassins finally succeed in bringing my King in, they will be bathed in our blood, just as we will be bathed in the blood of your previous groups of assassins. We take no pride or joy in that knowledge. My blood and the blood of Dewloren are on your hands now. You have made your choice."[/color]

Servant was still quiet. That Power Tool Dragon was persistent, but this game was over. [color=darkred]"Alright, then. I give. Activate final trap card, Machine Quick Assemble!"[/color] He declared. [color=darkred]"It allows me to Special Summon any one Machine-Type monster from my deck to the field."[/color] Servant slid his finger beneath his Deck and took out the bottommost card. He sighed and played the card onto his Duel Disk. [color=darkred]"Come out, Wise Core."[/color] A metallic white egg then appeared (ATK 0). Although, there was something mysterious about it. [color=darkred]"The trap card wasn't any good, because, apparently, the catch of Machine Quick Assemble is this: The monster is destroyed as soon as it's selected as an attack target. So, really, just a useless attempt. I have revealed my final trap card, which I set simply for tribute fodder, if you know what I mean. You are powerful, Signer, so go ahead."[/color]

"Wise Core?" Alex said in confusion as the strange duelist summoned the egg-like monster. "Why in the world would he summon that, and with an effect that destroys it the moment that it--?" Something made Alex stop mid-sentence. "Umbris, what's wrong now?"

[b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"There is a reason that kid did that,"[/font][/i][/b] Umbris said. [b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"He's planned this all along!"[/font][/i][/b]

"What are you talking about--?" Alex asked, but again cut off mid-sentence, but this time to shout out, [font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"Drake, stop! It's a Trap! Don't attack Wise Core!"[/font] The oddest thing was, the voice in which Alex spoke didn't even sound like his. "Umbris, what are you doing?!" he said, this time in his normal voice.

"And why is that?" Alex asked, though he was soon about to find out.

[color=red]Drake roared in agony as his Mark of the Dragon started feeling like someone dipped his arm in napalm, soaked it in gasoline and kerosene, and then set it aflame, "Sinister... Sprocket..." He snarled through grit teeth, "Get that f*cking thing out of my sight." His Monster's chain whipped outwards towards the Wisel Emperor's Core. His Extra Deck Zone on his Duel Disk also started shooting out a bright golden light, which solidified into his Signer Dragon's card again, though it was still blank save for his Level and image, "Trying to tell me something, partner?" He asked, panting, "Fine by me." He turned over his shoulder, "Furballs, shut the f*ck up and stop backseat Dueling." He snapped, "I know that punk was baiting me, I don't really care since if I left that card on the field, my arm would have ripped itself off at the elbow."[/color]

At the same time that Drake's Mark of the Dragon activated, something also happened to Alex's right arm; it felt as if millions of white-hot daggers were being driven into his arm at once. Alex howled in pain as he gripped his arm and dropped to his knees, dropping his umbrella in the process.

"Wh... what is this?! What's happening?!!" Alex shouted. Looking down, he noticed that his arm began to glow in the same light as Drake's. The light shining through his jacket sleeve was in the pattern of a clawed hand. "Wait... is that... a Dragon Mark?!" he gasped out. "But how can that be! I didn't have this--!" At that moment, he remembered the conversation that he had with Rayos earlier that evening. "Wait... he and his father... were right about me?"

[color=darkred]"Despair! [b]DESPAIR![/b] I activate the effect of Machine Quick Assemble! When the monster Special Summoned by that effect is selected as an attcak target, it is destroyed immediately!"[/color] The Wise Core then exploded. [color=darkred]"[b]YOU MUST DESPAIR![/b] Come forth, Wisel Carrrier (ATK 800), Wisel Guard (DEF 1200), Wisel Attack (ATK 1200), Wisel Top (ATK 500), and [b]Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity![/b]" Five white robotic different pieces appeared, of arms and legs and a chest and head, and they all then combined to create a robot thing with an Infinity Symbol on its chest (ATK 2500). An Infinity Symbol also appeared above the duel. The storm began to worsen more than ever. [color=darkred]"Come now, come now, Signer! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!"[/color]

[color=red]"Power Tool Dragon still has 800 more ATK points." Drake said, panting as his Mark continued carving into his bones with a rusted knife, "My little toy is more powerful than your Monsters..." He told his opponent, rolling up his sleeve so the pouring rain could theoretically cool his arm down, which didn't work, "Whatever that f*cking Wisel of yours can do, I'm still going to destroy it as soon as it becomes my turn." The murderer said, "And, so you know, during your turn, Power Tool Dragon's ATK drops down to 2300, but you can't battle with any other Monster, and any Monster you do attack with gets destroyed during your End Phase. It's your turn." He said, gasping for breath because of his Dragon's repressed trauma.[/color]

[color=darkred]"Well, it's my turn again. Draw,"[/color] Servant said. [color=darkred]"You severely underestimate me. So allow me to show you something special. I activate the effect of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity! Absorb Power Tool Dragon!"[/color] And just like that, the machine monster charged at Power Tool Dragon and held it still. Its chest began glowing and then Power Tool Dragon was gone (ATK 4800). [color=darkred]"This is the power of the Machine Emperors! Now I activate the card Reverse Draw. It allows me to draw two cards from beneath my Deck. And I know what they are."[/color] Servant then took two cards from the bottom of his Deck. [color=darkred]"I activate the card Machine Replacements. I can send up to 2 monsters from the field back to the bottom of my deck and then replace them with two Level Four or lower Machine-Type monsters. Thus, disappear! Wisel Guard and Wisel Attack! And now, come forth, Wisel Guard 3 (DEF 2000) and Wisel Attack 3 (1600)!"[/color] Some parts of the Machine Emperor disappeared for a moment but then reappeared again (MEWI ATK 5200). [color=darkred]"Also, did I mention that so long as Wisel Attack 3 is is on the field, Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity inflicts piercing damage? Go."[/color] The now superpowered robot charged towards the sprocket.

[color=red]Drake panted heavily, leaning up against a tree for support and barely able to see straight through the pain that was aching through his body, "I... I activate the Trap Card Lightning Tuning..." The Signer stated as soon as Wisel tried absorbing Power Tool Dragon, "If a Monster I control is targeted by a card effect, I can Synchro Summon a Synchro Monster using that card as a Synchro Material..." Sinister Sprocket's chain wrapped around Power Tool and pulled it back before transforming into a single red ring that went around Power Tool's waist as soon as Drake's Signer Dragon's card started filling in its name, "Guardian of the Dragon, come forth. Appear now in a blaze of glory. Synchro Summon! Evolve..." He slapped his Dragon's card onto his Duel Disk just as the last letter in his name finished filling out and the effect text appeared, "Life Stream Dragon!" Power Tool Dragon's armor exploded off of it, revealing a flesh and bone yellow dragon below the mechanical golden dragon, "Life Stream Dragon has 2900 ATK points, the same as your Emperor. Attack me now and they'll both be destroyed."[/color]

"That monster...," Alexander mused in awe as he looked upon the Machine Emperor, trying his hardest to ignore the massive pain in his arm. "I remember seeing that same monster earlier this afternoon...."

Alex began to feel a burning sensation throughout his entire body now, as though his body and mind were simultaneously being set on fire right where he knelt. His scream became louder as the pain escalated.

[i]What's wrong? This isn't like you.... [color="#C0C0C0"]Stop letting your sloth guide you....[/color] Sorry... but these guys come first....[/i]

"Umbris...," Alex said weakly before collapsing to the wet ground. Before blacking out from the pain, an image of Neo-Spacian Dark Panther jumping into the fire stream from the attack of a demonic dragon flashed in his mind.

"And my blood is on your hands," Wildheart told Moon Star. "We're both in this, whether we like it or not. I'll do all I can to make sure Mark does what needs to be done. That is... if you trust me enough...."

James, who had fallen asleep laying on his d-wheel in the middle of the exit of the riding duel arena, was awoken after seeing what seemed to be an infinity symbol flash before his eyes and his arm burn with pain. "What's... going on?" He jumped on his d-wheel, which he fixed before falling asleep, and drove off, noticing a huge figure that appeared to be from the Slifer dorm. "What is that?" James accellerated his d-wheel even more trying to reach the Slifer dorm sooner.

Jack, who had fallen asleep in his bed at Slifer dorm woke up to the sound of laughter from outside. "What the heck people?" He jumped out of bed and walked out the door, which he forgot to lock when he came in. First thing he saw was a golden-skinned dragon and a giant robot. All of a sudden, he felt his arm burn as blue light resenated off his dragon-head shaped mark. "W...why now?" He said softly, gripping his arm and barely covering the light.

Servant hesitated for a moment, before realizing that he couldn't afford to attack. He could destroy the newcomer dragon but then he wouldn't be able to do anything, then the Signer would summon another monster and attack directly for win. He looked at the card in his hand. He couldn't afford to attack that monster, whatever it was. [color=darkred]"You got me,"[/color] He said. [color=darkred]"It seems I won't be able to attack that upgraded dra. . . gon. . ."[/color] And the thing about the dragon dawned to him. It was a Signer Dragon. And it was the upgraded form of Power Tool Dragon. [color=darkred]"The toy dragon was just a second skin, I realize now. I set a card and end my turn. Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, your time will come."[/color]

The Signer drew his card and looked at it, chuckling, "Next, I activate the Spell Card [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Corridor_of_Agony"]Corridor of Agony[/url]." A spike wall shot up on either side of the two Duelists and from the floor, which Life Stream Dragon simply flew above, "If a Monster was Special Summoned from the Main Deck, their effects cannot be activated and are outright negated. Meaning that your Machine Emperor's ATK and DEF both become 0 again. Life Stream Dragon, however, because he was Summoned from my Extra Deck, is immune to this card's effect. Life Stream Dragon, attack his Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity! Life's Beauty Howl..." He looked at his Signer Dragon, "That's seriously your attack? My God."[/color]

Servant supressed a laugh. Life's Beauty Howl? HAH! [color=darkred]"Activate Trap card, Infinity Redirection!"[/color] He declared. [color=darkred]"While a Machine Emperor I control is attacked by a Synchro monster, I can negate the attack and destroy one spell or trap card on the field! Corridor of Agony goes bye-bye! Life's Beauty Howl!"[/color] He snickered for a moment as the Machine Emperor knocked back the attack of Life Stream Dragon, which then hit the Signer's Corridor of Agony. [color=darkred]"Any more tricks up your sleeve, Signer?"[/color] He asked.

[color=red]Drake chuckled, "Sorry, buddy" He told Life Stream Dragon as he ended his turn. "Hopefully you'll find another owner before too long." The murderous Signer let out a self assured smirk, having died twice before and being genre savvy enough to realize that he'd come back somehow. His Red-Eyes Wyvern Duel Spirit flew away and there was a brief flash of light in the sky, unnoticed by the others because of the storm.[/color]

[color=orange]Rayos, meanwhile, finally managed to get to the Slifer Red dorm just as his brother-in-bond's Corridor of Agony got destroyed. He heard what he said to his Signer Dragon and a single tear fell from his eye, "Drake... Don't do this..." He whispered, unable to bring himself to speak any louder.[/color]

[color=darkred]"This is the end, Signer."[/color] Servant said, surprised that there was no more emotion in his voice. And he realized, there was no more fun in this. No more threat standing in his way in this duel. [color=darkred]"I activate the card, Shadow Draw. You're already familiar with this card already."[/color] And Servant drew two cards from his deck. [color=darkred]"I had earlier shuffled my deck, so now my Machine Emperor cards could be anywhere. Apparently, I just got one. I tribute Wisel Attack 3 for Wisel Attack 5! (ATK 2000)"[/color] And Wisel grew even stronger (ATK 3300). [color=darkred]"Now, absorb Life Stream Dragon once more."[/color] Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity repeated the method he had earlier done, only this time there was no resistance (ATK 6200). Life Stream Dragon was captured. [color=darkred]"I'm actually surprised. I was expecting to lose. I don't believe it. Underconfidence equals power? I guess so. Now, Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. . ."[/color] Servant took a second to think if he would actually decide to attack. He must. It was his mission. But since this was going to be his first duel ever won, seriously, he wanted to take a moment to remember the moment. The first Signer he would have killed, and also the first time he would have won a duel, two glorious moments compressed into one duel. He pointed at Drake, but he was still remembering the moment.

Slowly, Alexander opened his eyes; from his position on the wet ground, he could see that it was still dark, still raining. Lifting his head, he looked toward Drake and his opponent. The Machine Emperor in possession of Drake's opponent had the Life Stream Dragon in its grasp, and Drake had no defenses remaining.

"Drake...?" murmured a confused Alex as horror began to creep in. "Drake, what happened...?"

[b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"... he's about to lose...,"[/font][/i][/b] said the somber voice of Umbris. [b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"... and not just the duel, I'm afraid. When his Life Points hit zero, Drake's life will...."[/font][/i][/b]

"No...," Alex breathed out in horror. Looking into Life Stream Dragon's eyes, he could see that the Signer Dragon was... crying?

"... No, he can't!!" Quickly stumbling to his feet, Alex ran forward, through the Duel Field, and almost slid to a stop in front of Drake. "Drake, you have to get out of here! You can't let it end like this!"

Teslarc had been watching the duel from the shadows, and she felt a twinge of sorrow for Drake. He was lucky. He got to die before he completed his mission, allowing him eternal peace instead of being forced to be Itsu's little puppet over and over again. However, even eternal peace wasn't a guarantee in this dimension. This universe was full of little sections in time and space where the continuity of the timeline could be called into question, especially after the Paradox War. Drake would probably be revived just because the universe needed him. However, Teslarc doubted Itsu had any hand in these errors. She looked skyward, as if she was staring into the eyes of a small group of adults and young adults scattered across an alternate Earth who, in their world, this was merely an online roleplaying game. However, her expression was unknown underneath her helmet. Maybe it was anger at the continuity errors, maybe it was sorrow for making Drake die over and over again, or maybe it was happiness that, in that world, the one who "created" Darke hated the one who "created" Itsu as much as she did.
