[color=red]Red-Eyes was covered in a metallic sheen and his ATK boosted from 2400 to 2700. "I activate the Trap Card Metalmorph, increasing my Dragon's ATK and DEF by 300. Then, he's further strengthened whenever he's in a battle by half the strength of the attacking Monster." The metallic sheen on Drake's favorite Monster brightened to the point where it was almost luminescent, "Red-Eyes Black Dragon, counterattack! Inferno Fire Blast!"[/color]

It wasn't the first time that Alexander blanked out whenever he had a "vision", except that he never actually collapsed while having one (at least, he not that he could remember). Getting up from the wet ground and picking up his umbrella, the lombax opened up the umbrella and held it over his head, despite the fact that he was still soaked thoroughly by the rain. Taking a moment to look around him, Alex decided to return to his room, trying to make sense of the "vision" he had, especially one surprisingly vivid image of his friend, Umbris, being destroyed by a hellfire. For whatever reason he couldn't explain at that moment, he felt... unusually depressed....

"... Umbris... are you there...?" Alex murmured. For a while, there was no response, which worried Alexander.

[b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"... ... ... yes. Is there something the matter, Alex?"[/font][/i][/b] said an infantile voice in the lombax's head.

Relieved to hear the familiar voice, and also a bit sad, a weak smile formed on Alex's face. "... no... nothing's wrong. Just making sure you were still here."

[b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"Why wouldn't I be?"[/font][/i][/b] asked the Chrysalis Pantail.

"... it's nothing...," Alex replied silently as a tear ran down his cheek. "Let's go home." With that, he approached the Slifer Red Dorm.

"If it's all the same to you, Mark," Wildheart replied, getting up from the floor, "I think I'm ready to be intangible again. None of us have a reason to keep me solid right now, so...." Wildheart paused to consider his next words. "It's not that I don't trust you, Mark. In fact, I'm trying my best to trust you now. It's just... I'd feel better if I could watch over Luisa tonight."

[color=blue]"I can think of a pretty damn good reason for you to be solid, actually." Mark told Wildheart as King Moon Star gently lowered Luisa down the trap door, "For example, you don't need to sleep, I do." [i]Not that I'm gonna get any...[/i] "I can't manifest Duel Spirits in my sleep, even my Spirit counterpart." There was the sound of springs bouncing slightly as Mark eased Luisa onto his bed and the rustling of blankets as he covered her up, "You, on the other hand, can apparently stay out when Luisa's asleep." He climbed back up to the main level and it was only then that Wildheart realized that Mark hadn't verbally uttered a word since he picked up Luisa, "If I ever manage to get a wink of sleep tonight and that wolfman comes back for me, Luisa's gonna need you to keep her safe while I'm getting violently beaten in my sleep."[/color]

"I see what you mean," Wildheart admitted. "I'd be no good to either of you if I'm not solid." At the mention of Fenrir, Wildheart was once again reminded of Wulf, and wondered why the Lightsworn Beast would ever consider associating himself with a Duelist like that.

"You try your best to get some sleep," Wildheart told Mark. "I'll keep guard up here. Even without my sword, I'm pretty good with my fists, so you don't have to worry about my ability to defend myself." Wildheart pulled out the chair he had sat on earlier and moved it between the main door and the trap door so that, if anything did try to attack them, they'd have to go through the seven-foot-tall Elemental Hero first, if they could even manage that.

[color=blue]Mark nodded, "If you want, I can leave one of my Spirits up here so you don't lose your mind." He offered, Dewloren, Blizzed, and King Moon Star appearing in the living area. Blizzed flew out the closed window, phasing through it like nothing, while Dewloren took up residence in front of the door and Moon Star stood between his human equivalent and Wildheart. "And, if it's alright with you, I'd feel more comfortable below deck. This boat's not fit for naval warfare by any means, but considering it's my home and an entire dimension's trying to kill me, I figure that having a few Monsters on cue at all hours of the night isn't a bad idea."[/color]

"That's fine," Wildheart replied, somewhat glad to have a little company. He sat down in his chair, giving Dewloren an acknowledging nod.

Meanwhile, in the branches of a tree on the edge of the forest closest to the dock, two figures stood watch over the boat. [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Sparkman"]One wore a blue bodysuit with yellow accents and wore yellow upper body armor. His visored helmet reflected the lightning flashing in the stormy skies.[/url]

[url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Destiny_Hero_-_Double_Dude"]The other figure wore a black tuxedo, complete with top hat and cane. A long scarf hid the bottom half of his face, his eyes also hidden behind a pair of round-framed glasses.[/url]

"Remind me again," said Double Dude, a British accent evident in his voice, "why we're simply standing by. Would it not be simpler to apprehend the Moon King now?"

"It could," Sparkman replied, unfazed by the lightning striking above. "However, all we can do now is watch and see if he stays on the straight and narrow. Of course, if he proves to be a danger... well, you are aware of the orders."

"We are both aware," said the Destiny Hero, referring to the other side of him. "And believe me, the other "Me" will not hesitate to follow those orders to the letter."

"I only hope that Wildheart knows what he's doing," Sparkman admitted. "He's putting a lot on the line by trusting this guy, especially that girl...."

[color=blue]"Wolfmen coming at me from one direction, Heroes at my doorstep, and God knows what else trying to do God knows what to my brother and his friends." He muttered, taking the stepladder downstairs three or four at a time, "Have fun, don't wreck my sh*t, I'll de-solidify you in the morning. Dewloren, King Moon Star, good night." He said, just before closing the trapdoor and pulling a chair next to where Luisa was sleeping in his bed, "I'm so sorry." He whispered to Luisa, slipping his Duel Disk off his arm finally and placing it on the floor next to him so he could easily reach it if need be. "Sweet dreams, Luisa." He mumbled, closing his eyes and preparing for a long night short on sleep.[/color]

[color=darkred]"Oh well."[/color] Servant said as his Archfiend Empress was overcome (LP 1350). [color=darkred]"I may have underestimated you. No matter. In the end, all shall fall. Something like that, anyhow."[/color] He checked his hand. Nothing much else to do. [color=darkred]I set two cards. Signer, you haven't seen anything yet. Although, to tell the truth, I have never known a Signer like yourself. You are unpredictable. Then again, maybe not. I wouldn't think too much of it. Archfiend Empress wasn't my trump card. Not by a long-shot. Turn end!"[/color]

[color=red]"What? This?" Drake asked, holding up his arm, "I went through the flames of Hell itself, twice, for this Mark. I've been coerced by the powers of darkness. I've killed. Oh ho ho, have I killed." He let out a wicked smile, "And oh, how much fun I had. It's been too long since my last kill though. Two bit Duelist like you is hardly worth my time." He drew his card and his grin never left his face, "Let's see if your face-down's a match for my Dragon. Red-Eyes, finish him. Inferno Fire Blast!"[/color]

[color=green]Elisa awoke first, and saw, much to her delight, that she was still wrapped around Aki. The shy brunette yawned cutely and stretched before giving her bed mate a kiss on the cheek, then the lips, and then neck, "Good morning beautiful." She whispered in Aki's ear, giving it a nibble.[/color]

As Alexander approached the Slifer Red dorm, he witnessed a Duel going on between Drake and... some other kid. Despite being soaking wet and tired, Alexander decided to stand by and watch. Meanwhile, his right arm was starting to itch for some reason....

Sensing that Dewloren and Moon Star weren't the only other Spirits around, Wildheart got up from his chair and looked out the window. Through the heavy sheet of rain, he could see two familiar silhouettes within the trees close-by. "Crap, they're here now...?" he thought to himself. Looking back at Dewloren, he tried to think of something to do to pass the time. "So...," Wildheart said slowly, "... what exactly do you do for fun?"

Servant's eyes widened for a moment but then went back to normal. [color=darkred]"Your point? You may as well become god of this dimension and it could be foreseen."[/color] He said. [color=darkred]"Although, the fact that you underestimate me is annoying. You went through the flames of Hell twice, you say? I was trapped in a place where nothing ever gets old for a [b]long time[/b]! I was 'experimented' upon literally thousands of times! Oh and by the way, activate trap card, Magic Cylinder. The classics are always the best, after all."[/color] The blast heading for Servant disappeared into a big cylinder, and then a second cylinder appeared next to it which then fired the blast back at Drake. [color=darkred]"I do not appreciate your Red-Eyed Dragon glaring at me but I'm not going to destroy it just yet."[/color]

[color=blue]Dewloren shrugged, "Not much, though getting ambushed by two Elemental Heroes and..." he sniffed the air, "A Destiny Hero sure ain't on the list, so, if you plan on bringing my Master in while he sleeps, you're going to have to figure out a way to do it that doesn't involve having a throat. Or arms. Or legs." The Tiger King stood up and a low grumble started building in his chest, "Growing up at the Ice Barrier, I heard all about the Heroes. The champions of the Spirit World. Look how you've fallen."[/color]

[color=red]Drake didn't even flinch as Red-Eyes' attack blasted back at him, "Smart move. Nothing pisses me off more than when somebody thinks they've beaten my Dragon. Had you destroyed him, I'd have stopped holding back and started ripping your lungs out through your ears. I activate Dragon Nails, giving my Dragon 600 more ATK and end my turn."[/color]

Wildheart heaved a sigh. "Stand down, Dew," he said, trying to reassure the Tiger King of the Ice Barrier. "That is honestly the last thing I wish to do." He then looked down, reflecting on something from long ago. "Besides... I kind of understand how Mark feels... ... I myself wasn't always on the straight and narrow... ... right, Sparkman?" he added, directing the last part to the Elemental Hero of Lightning, still perched in the tree outside.

Sparkman was surprised to find that Wildheart had mentioned him. "Wait... you don't mean the time when...?" Sparkman asked, telepathically speaking in a way so that Dewloren and King Moon Star could also hear.

Wildheart nodded. "There was a moment in time... where a few of us Elemental Heroes... were employed by the powers of darkness." A pained look crossed Wildheart's face as he spoke, as if it hurt to remember. "The time that one of the [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Jaden_Yuki"]first users of the Elemental Hero Deck[/url]... became possessed by a malicious being." Wildheart shook his head as if to correct himself. "No, that's not quite accurate. It was more like... a side of his true self became corrupted... I don't really know.

"It was during this time, where he became known as the [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Haou"]Supreme King[/url], that we too [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Evil_Heroes"]fell to darkness[/url]: Avian, Burstinatrix, Clayman, Sparkman... and myself."

"Of course... I remember that," Sparkman said slowly. "Wish I didn't, though."

"We all do," Wildheart replied. "I don't know about you, Sparkman, but that incident made me realize... that I know how Mark feels."

""Mark"?" asked Double Dude. "Is that what the Moon King is calling himself?"

"Yes," said Wildheart. He then continued, "I know what it was like to try and make amends for what you've done. That's why... I'm willing to give Mark the benefit of a doubt." He sighed before continuing again, "I'm not saying that we're to pardon him of his actions... but simply to give him time to make amends before... whatever's going on now is over. If it comes to it, however," he added somberly, "I will apprehend him myself if he steps out of line. I promise you all that." He then said to Dewloren and King Moon Star, "I'll do so... even if I have to go through the two of you... ... even though I don't wish to...."

[color=blue]Dewloren and Moon Star, however, didn't move so much as an inch, "You said you'd wait until whatever's attacking the island has been apprehended, then you have your thugs come in and plan to attack Master Mark in his sleep." King Moon Star stated as Dewloren growled louder, "He was wrong to expect you to behave with the honor befitting the Hero archetype." His scepter grew into a long bladed spear, "So, call off your worthless thugs, or do we have to take this outside? Because I have no problem with ripping an honorless bastard like you to shreds." Dewloren barked twice in agreement, "I will not stop my King from surrendering to you, but he will do so on his own terms."[/color]

Wildheart, too, remained in his seat, not flinching one bit. "You misunderstand. They are only here to observe," he said as calmly as possible. "Sparkman, Double Dude, return to your respective bases at once."

"But Wildheart--!" Sparkman responded in disbelief.

"I have given Mark my word," Wildheart said, interrupting the Lightning Elemental Hero. "If that's not go enough for any of you... then you can take me in as well." He then turned to Moon Star and Dewloren. "If you two feel that my promise is an empty farce... then you may strike me down right here. Just know that if you do... you will have a deeply heartbroken young woman to deal with.

"Regardless of whether or not any of you care what she feels, I do," he told the allies of Ice and Moon, as well as the two Heroes outside. "I will do whatever it takes to protect Luisa, even lay my own life on the line." The image of Luisa standing up to Wulf flashed through his mind. "She has proven... that she would do the same...."

Double Dude spoke up, "But Wildheart--!"

"I said go!" Wildheart mentally shouted, so as not to awaken Luisa and Mark, if the latter had managed to fall asleep. "Get out of here, we will discuss this later!"

For a while, Sparkman and Double Dude remained in the tree, but in the end, they relented. "Let us depart, then," Double Dude said to Sparkman. "Can't exactly have broken hearts and promises on our hands, now can we?"

"Very well," Sparkman replied. "Wildheart, I truly hope you know what your doing." With that, the two Heroes vanished as lightning flashed in the sky, having returned to the Spirit World.

[color=darkred]"My turn, then. Draw!"[/color] Servant declared. He drew his card and analyzed the field. With Metalmorph, that Red-Eyes Black Dragon was near-indestructible. But there were ways around that. No biggy. [color=darkred]"I'll get no points out of this, but it's the only option. That Red-Eyes of yours is pretty much indestructible. So then, I activate my set card, Call of the Haunted! With it, I revive Archfiend Empress from the grave!"[/color] The monster which was earlier destroyed by Red-Eyes Black Dragon then reappeared from the grave (ATK 2900). [color=darkred]"Of course, despite its Attack points, it's no match for your Red-Eyes Black Dragon. Which is why, I activate the Ritual Spell Card, Ritual of the Matador!"[/color] Servant took a card from his hand before activating it. Suddenly, Archfiend Empress was engulfed in red organic material. It struggled to break free, but it couldn't. The Archfiend Empress was then consumed by the material, before the material began taking a shape. [color=darkred]"[i]He who is indestructible! He who feeds on the very hearts of his enemies! He who attacks silently from the shadows! Ritual Summon! Come forth, [b]Archfiend Matador![/b][/i]"[/color] The organic material then began eating itself before disappearing into nothing, but a quicker eye would have noticed a shadow darting off (ATK 0). [color=darkred]"Look at that, no monster. Or is there? Archfiend Matador, attack this Signer's Red-Eyes Black Dragon."[/color] And at that moment, the shadow reappeared very quickly in front of the dragon and attacked.

[color=blue]"I understand that King Mark is synonymous with Satan in our world, but you have to understand that our lives are bonded to him. If he dies, Dewloren and the Ice Barriers become paper, and I fall into nothingness unless a successor is chosen." King Moon Star told Wildheart, "His actions were not his own. None of us had any control over ourselves back then. We didn't know what was going on. And, if what you said before is true, then we have as much right to kill you as you have to kill our King." A blue sphere appeared atop the Spirit Moon King's staff for three seconds before fizzling out, "Unlike you, however, I respect my King's wishes. You, at the very least, can rest easy. The Moon Kingdom doesn't send out assassins to kill our enemies." He sat down against the wall behind the trap door, "And we also don't waste time and resources on cowards like you."[/color]

[color=red]"I activate my face-down cards, Dark Spirit Art - Greed and Super Rejuvenation." Drake said, "I'm sorry, old friend, but it's time for the new guy to earn his keep." The murderous Signer told Red-Eyes, "By Releasing one DARK Attribute Monster, I can draw two cards from my Deck thanks to the former, while the latter lets me draw one card for every Dragon-Type Monster Released during the turn it's activated, giving me a grand total of three cards." Three cards popped out of Drake's Deck and into his hand, "Now, if there's nothing else, I'd like to make my move."[/color]

The shadow then darted away again. [color=darkred]"I'm at a disadvantage, somewhat, since I can't attack you whatsoever."[/color] Servant said. [color=darkred]"But it doesn't matter. I'm defended, after all. It doesn't matter. Signer, you are stronger than you look, I admit. I'm curious to see what strategy you'll try next. That invincible Red-Eyes of yours is gone, but I know enough to know that you probably have a different strategy up your sleeve. But you are lucky, for I have chosen not to show you my cards of Despair. Archfiend Empress and Archfiend Matador, despite their prowess, their power is considerably low compared to the cards of Despair. Go ahead. Turn end."[/color]

Giving off a saddened sigh, Wildheart got up from his chair and walked toward the wall farthest from the front door. "Perhaps you're right," he said, looking down at his open palms. "Maybe there is still a dark stain on this wild heart of mine. But that doesn't mean I won't work to make things right again." He clenched both hands into fists for a few seconds before opening them again. "I know Mark must feel the same. That's why I'm willing to have Mark accomplish all that he can during the time he may have left. He may be considered a demon in our world... but that does not mean we should allow hate to guide our actions...."

He then turned to Dewloren and Moon Star again. "In the morning, while Luisa's in class, I'll consult with the other Elemental Heroes, and try to convince them not to interfere with Mark until this crisis is over." He then sighed again upon realizing something. "The Lightsworns, on the other hand... they really don't like Mark at all. They'll be tearing through this island just to find Wulf, so we can only imagine what they'll do if they get... to... Mark...."

As the realization dawned on him, Wildheart clutched his fists again, self-anger seething inside him. "Dammit, I've doomed him! I called Jenis here, and now she and the other Lightsworns know that Mark's here! Dammit!" He slid down the wall to the floor, his hands clutching his head. "If only I had known what Mark truly was sooner, I would have never called Jenis here... this is all my fault... I'm sorry...."

"What does he have in mind...? Alexander thought as Drake sacrificed his own monster to gain hand advantage. "Whatever it is, I'm sure he knows what he's doing."

[b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"I thought you didn't trust him?"[/font][/i][/b] asked Umbris from within Alex's head.

"You're right. I don't," Alex replied. "But... something about his opponent just... doesn't sit right with me...."

[b][i][font="Franklin Gothic Medium"]"Makes it hard to decide who to root for, huh?"[/font][/i][/b]

"If I want to root for someone at all," Alex admitted. "Besides, Drake can handle himself. Murderer or not, he can duel with the best of them."

[color=red]Drake drew his turn card, bringing his hand up to four cards, "First, I activate the Ritual Spell Card Dark Dragon Ritual, Sacrificing the Level 4 Red-Eyes Wyvern in my had to Ritual Summon Knight of Dark Dragons." A red and black armored human wielding a pitch black sword appeared in front of Drake, "Next, I Summon the Level 3 Tuner Monster Delta Flyer and Tune him with my Level 4 Knight of Dark Dragons." Drake's Knight was joined by an armless Dragon that soon turned into three rings that the Knight flew in between, "Synchro Summon! Power Tool Dragon!" A vaguely cartoony mechanical dragon, contrasting sharply with the viciousness of Drake's previous Monster, appeared on the field, "Power Tool Dragon's Effect activates, adding one Equip Spell Card from my Deck to my hand. So, let's see what my Deck gives me." A card popped out of the middle of his Deck and Drake chuckled, "I activate Black Pendant and equip it to my dragon. Your move."[/color]

[color=blue]"Yes, I'm sure you're so broken up about it." King Moon Star said mockingly, "You probably will be, though, after I destroy every single Lightsworn that you send after my King. Your world calls us devils, maybe I'll prove them right."[/color]

[color=darkred]"Now, it's my turn, draw!"[/color] Servant declared. He then drew his card. [color=darkred]"Do you honestly expect a toy dragon to defeat me? Toys don't mix well with demons. I summon Terrorking Archfiend"[/color] Servant took a card from his hand and put it on his Duel Disk, and then a humanoid monster wielding a big sword appeared (ATK 2000). [color=darkred]"Now, then! I have no idea why you chose to summon a toy dragon, but that doesn't matter! Archfiend Matador, attack his toy dragon! And Terrorking Archfiend, follow it up by attacking this Signer directly"[/color] The shadow from earlier reappeared once more and struck at the toy dragon and Terrorking Archfiend walked forward.

[color=red]"I activate Power Tool Dragon and Black Pendant's effects." Drake told Servant as his Machine's necklace shattered and a wave of black energy shot towards Servant, "By destroying a Spell Card equipped to my dragon, once per turn, he cannot be destroyed by battle. Then, because Black Pendant has been sent to the Graveyard, I inflict 500 Damage to your Life Points." The golden armored dragon was unscathed as the smoke cleared, though its ATK had dropped from 2800 to 2300, "Well, would ya look at that," The murderous Signer said mockingly, "My 'toy dragon' is still stronger than your demon, and, unless you destroy it this turn, your Life Points will drop to 0 during your next Standby Phase without me having to do anything."[/color]

[color=darkred]"But just in case, Terrorking Archfiend, continue your attack."[/color] His Terrorking Archfiend continued walking and attacked Power Tool Dragon but was easily beaten before getting destroyed. [color=darkred]"The purpose for that is that you could have attacked me through that monster. I wish I knew Power Tool Dragon's effect sooner, but it's too late. I still have Archfiend Matador, however, to protect me for another turn. But I'll just see how things play out. Turn end."[/color]

Drake said, drawing the top card from his Deck as well as the one that his Deck added to his hand, "Now, I set one card face-down and equip Power Tool Dragon with [url="http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Neon_Laser_Blaster"]Neo Laser Blaster[/url], increasing his ATK by 500 and giving him the ability to inflict piercing damage. Granted, since your Monster negates Battle Damage anyway, I'm gonna have some issues here. No matter, I know just the card I need to get rid of your pathetic Matador, and with two cards per turn, this whole thing's just a waiting game. I end my turn."[/color]

Servant drew his next card, which he knew, was probably his last if it was a useless card. [color=darkred]"I activate the card Shadow Draw! While there are at least three dark monsters in my Graveyard, I can draw two cards from my Deck."[/color] Servant then proceeded to draw two cards from his deck. One of the cards drawn was a very, very, very good card, Hate Buster. And the other card. . . A grin would have appeared on his face but he played his poker face. [color=darkred]"Now, this time, I am not going to declare an attack. I think I've learned quite enough. I set two cards and end my turn."[/color]
