Royal Decree

If everyone is running Royal Decree these days, why should I run it. Couldn't you benefit from this by playing 3 Upstart Goblins than running 3 Decree (just side them if need be)

I was just gonna post this. It's helpfull for an Anti-Trap deck and is often included with Jinzo and Jinzo - Lord. You could just it to stop your opponents traps for the turn and then use MST and get rid of it.

The card is amazingly epic. I personally hope it'll go to 2 next format since it always blocks my Mirror Force.

it's mainly for Decks that don't have the room to run traps.

i.e Lightsworn, Quickdraw

who need to drop traps to run a greater monster count.

i personally love Decree, but not in everything, it can backfire because you have no form of protection.

My Body is different kind of protection (i'm talking Mirror Force, Torrential Tribute, Bottomless Trap Hole)
Book of Moon is already run anyways.
Rush Reckless is worse than Shrink
Enemy Controller only works in some builds.

Disagree. It's slightly sub-par, but I think bad is a bit of an overstatement - just my opinion mind you (although I accept that it's recently been outclassed by Holy Lance in most Decks)

Anyway, Royal Decree. Always an annoyance to run into, especially combined with Horus and such. But I'd always prefer Jinzo.

Shrink is awesome to agress the opponents attack but bad for honest and stuff
My body is a lightning vortex protection since you already had royal decree
book of moon is to delay an attack
rush is also good for almost finished direct attacks and there is no trap card to stop you because of royal decree
enemy controller is also like book of moon

It's only claim to fame this format is running it @3 when you want more room for Monsters and Spells. Might go to 2 next format if Konami feel like it again.

Royal Decree is hilarious if your Opponent sets a bunch of cards, and then you flip this during there End Phase.

The previous 'list' of cards you mentioned:
Shrink is hardly used now-a-days
My Body as a Shield has [i]SOME[/i] uses.
Rush Recklessly is just no.
Enemy Controller can only really be abused in a specific deck. For example, something that can generate a lot of fodder, and tributing 1 of them for Controller's 2nd effect wont harm you at all.
Book of Moon is amazing, and should be run in 3s in everything.

There seem to be decks that run a ton of Traps, or run Royal Decree. I'm in the middle of something of a love affair with it right now, making just about all my decks with Decree.
