Well by nature we're all violent Fusion. However the case is if we can in fact keep within the norms of society. A person who is not capable of controlling their impulses, whether by genetic defect or poor upbringing, is indeed more likely to act out what he is thinking and if their mind is filled with violent images from cartoons/games then they will act violently; likewise if they don't see such violent nature then they are less likely to act violently. However there have been actual studies which proves that violent games actually make it less likely for the normal human being to act violently towards another living person. Why is this? Well instead of getting paid 6 billion dollars for this answer, which I wish I could get paid for, the answer is an obvious one- the games are an out lite for pent up raeg.

If you can hope on a game console and shoot someone's head off without any real life repercussions you are going to do that, unless again your impulse control is screwed the f*ck up, instead of actually blow the f*cker who stole your parking spot's head off. Now granted this is not a catch all, that everybody who plays video games will not go out and shoot someone or do something bad. Nothing is permanent and 100%. It's just more likely. If someone is going to cause a crime it is for one of these reasons:
1.) They cannot help themselves; a mental disorder is preventing them from rationalizing that they are doing something wrong
2.) They want to commit the crime; most people do this, from various reasoning like "I'll never get caught" or "This is exciting"
3.) No choice; specifically someone who kills someone in self defense or any "valid crime" where the other option is death.

Speaking of which I've always had the issue with the bible stating "fear not he who kills your mortal flesh, but he who can kill your eternal soul". While I understand the principle of the message, that death is only temporary and instead you should worry about the well being of your soul, it just contradicts everything about human instinct. We don't want to die so despite that message, which boils down to roll over and accept it, human beings are going to fight back out of pure ass instinct called survival.

I pretty much agree with everything you're saying. What it boils down to is teaching your kids proper morales and the difference between right and wrong.
Like the guy who shot John Lennon, I'm going to blame his f*cked up mentality, not Catcher in the Rye.

I grew up on Sailor Moon, Tenchi Muyo. Ruroni Kenshin Tom and Jerry. Card Captors, and any number of other things which involve fighting/killing (I was 10 years old when I started playing Fable) and did I turn out violent? No, I just joined the army and learned to shoot n M4 Carbine along with several other firearms.

That's actually a good set-up for a joke...

I actually had an incident at work one time considering that. I can hand out stickers to children when they leave, but it is at my discretion. One day we had two separate families come in at the same time and then go to leave. Well the first family I gave their kid four stickers because she had been behaving the entire time. When the other one came up he actually snatched the stickers where they were. So instead of letting this selfish little brat get what he wants, which if he is confident enough to grab something from a stranger he d*mn sure must get anything he wants at home, I instead rip the stickers out of his grubby hands and stuff them down my pockets. When he tells me "I want stickers" I just look down at him, serious poker face here, and whisper, "No . . ."

I only wish I had Rorschach's outfit on (XD)

Catcher in the Rye was a good read, but how in the f*ck would it inspire someone to kill someone like Lennon with individual mentalies out of the question?
I never got that either. Maybe it inspired the guy to act on impulse and do screw what society would think and just do it?
Or maybe it made sense in his weird little mind. The world may never know.

So has anyone here ever noticed how the Gaia Creator seems to follow a kind of chibi format? No, seriously, take a good look at it. You'll see exactly what I mean.

The what?

What's everyone doing for Christmas?
I will be working Christmas Eve and dressed as an elf too while my Grandma wears a Santa outfit. Once I'm finished with work I'll be able to go to my Uncle's place and spend Christmas Eve there. Christmas day we'll open presents as soon as my step-brother and his wife come over, then hopefully my Aunt and Uncle will come over with their entire group.

Past that I might have something special planned for the forum.

Uh
That's DMG, not DL.

I'd actually like a bacon-world; and technically the bottom of Hell is a lake of ice (^^)

What am I doing for Christmas? What am I doing for Christmas? Well, to answer that, Fusion, I am going to freaking Afghanistan and getting a brief about what to expect from the guys we're replacing. That's what I'm doing on Christmas Day.

We're at base. Been for about a month. Not gonna get to see them until we come back around October.
Well, do post whenever you can

If you take too long of a leave of absence we might just assume you're dead

And you're not allowed to die...yet

Lol. Combat Engineer. I ride around in the MRAPs looking for IED's. And, because we neutralize their bombs, the Taliban generally hates us. Of course, the guys we're replacing tell us the most serious injury they've had was a guy break his hip. So, it sounds like we'll have a pretty good time there.

And here I thought you built bridges 0-o

I'd wish you good luck, but being one of YCM's elite, you don't need luck.

So, do they have pizza in Afghanistan?
