Jake the Sage
Black I think my topic wins (>B J) Honestly I like "Criminal Minds" because it is a bit deeper than the rest. I mean in the others you just see the teams solving murders, in each series. CSI is no different, practically, than NCIS. Criminal Minds does everything from kidnapping to prospected bio-terrorist attacks.

Fusion X. Denver
No I hear you, Cortez was telling me it was good even before everyone got crazy so I never dismissed it as a fad like I did with BlazBlue. I'm gonna watch it someday too, just don't know when. What'd it replace anyways?
Blake
I finished Season 1 in less than 6 days, and it's 3 eps into Season 2 at 68 episodes. It bumped Death Note off, though I joked about the Lagann school manga being 4 before.
Fusion X. Denver
Wait Bitter Virgin > Death Note? ...to each his own I suppose. I'll probably do Vanguard at the onset of summer when I'm free. For now I'm just going through shorter animes that I can knock out more easily after school. Say, is the game easier to play than YGO or harder?
Blake
It... looks a lot more complicated than it is. The anime itself teaches you the basics plus some more "Advanced" plays and the like. Lemme see if I can cover it... Decks are 50 cards, no more, no less. You choose 17 Grade 0s, 13 Grade 1s, 13 Grade 2s, and 7 Grade 3s, on average, though each deck is different. At the beginning of the game, you place 1 Grade 0 as your vanguard, from your deck, face down. Then you draw 5 cards. You want to have 1 of each grade, usually, though you don't really want Grade 0s in hand. Remulling is returning X number of cards from your hand to your deck, shuffling, and drawing the same amount, to increase the odds of a good hand. The phases go: Stand Phase ->Draw Phase -> Ride Phase -> Main Phase -> Battle Phase -> End Phase Stand Phase and Draw Phase are where you stand all of your units, AKA switch them to vertical, and then draw. Ride Phase is when you call a Vanguard of equal or greater Grade on top of the current Vanguard. Generally, you want to call HIGHER or not at all until you hit Grade 3. Main Phase is the ability to use Skills of the units you have and call RearGuards, the circles around the V circle. Battle Phase is when you "rest" or turn the cards horizontal to attack the Opponent's front row, the V or the R to either side. End Phase derp When the V attacks, you can check the top card of your deck. This is called Drive Check and you're trying to hit a Trigger. It is added to your hand after the check. You check twice with a G3 unless otehrwise stated. Damage Check is checking the top card of your deck for a trigger when you take damage. After the damage is taken, you place it in the damage zone. If you have 6 in the zone, you lose. A Trigger is a unit that gains its effect when Drive/Damage checked. They are all grade 0. Stand triggers switch a resting unit on your side to standing except V, Criticals increase the damage you deal by one so a regular hit will make them damage check twice, Heals are limited to 4 per deck and if you have Damage => to your opponents, you can take 1 damage and place it in the Drop Zone/Graveyard, and Draws let you draw a card and this happens before you drive/damage check again. They all increase 1 unit's Power by 5000. The effects of stand and criticals can be spread out, so the stand is given to one unit and the power to another. Grades 0-2 can Guard from the hand by calling them to the G... Circle when an attack is declared, adding the Shield number (On the left of the card) to the power of the attacked.. This is to avoid damage. G3 have no shield. Grade 0/1 have the ability BOOST. This means you can rest them behind an attacking unit on the front row to give their Power to the attacker's. Grade 2 has the ability INTERCEPT. This means a G2 on the front row, sans Vanguard, can move to the Guard Circle to help block an attack. There is also S. Special Intercept, which is a G2 that gains 5000 Shield when it intercepts. Grade 3 has the ability TWIN DRIVE!!. This allows you to double Drive check when you attack with it as V. Counter Blast is flipping your damage over to use effects. Limit Break is the amount of damage you must have for an effect to be able to be used. It is a newer thing that most cards don't have. My ace, Thunder Break Dragon, is an example of this, gaining 5000 Power when it attacks a V while it's a V if you have 4+ damage. Ultimate Break is having it require 5 damage. Soul Blast is when you take a card out of the soul (The stack underneath V) equal to the number required for an effect. Soul Charge is taking the top card of the deck and putting it under the V Megablast is a term assigned to cards that Counter Blast 5 and Soul Blast 8 to activate an insanely powerful effect. Very few are worth it, Still Vampyr being the best known example of being useful. Persona Blast is discarding a copy of a Unit as a cost for one of its skills. Sentinels (Fan Term: Null Guards) are G1s with 0 Shield that, when called as a Guardian, you can discard 1 card of their clan to make the attack unable to hit. You still drive check if you attack into one of these. ... I think that's all @_@ EDIT: Forgot 1 thing The 17 G0s are 16 triggers (4 each is standard but certain decks don't like certain triggers, like stands for my deck) and 1 Vanguard G0 that helps the deck get going. EDIT: AND BIND Bind is when you use a card effect to flip a card somewhere facedown for a turn. It cannot be used at ALL like this. So far, hand and Rear Guards can be hit by this. Retiring means to send a unit to the Drop Zone aka Graveyard. It is used offensively, as a cost, and a unit can be retired at any time, so long as you are replacing it. EDIT 2, 7/8/2013: Lock is flipping a unit face-down until its owner's turn ends. It has been used as a cost and offensively thus far. Locked units do not count as on the field at all, and as such, they cannot be retired nor replaced.

Fusion X. Denver
Hrm... I think I at least understand the basic mechanics, though I probably need to see it in action to fully understand it. Though it does sound fun to play. It's somewhat similar to YGO but more action-oriented.

Fusion X. Denver
Terminology probably works well in tandem with the actions in the anime. Kinda like the psychology behind shouting attack names when your duel monster attacks someone. According to Cortez that is, I was never one for that.
