Fusion X. Naruto could be said that. It's how well a manga does it that brings it to that caliber. The reason Naruto isn't as great as it could be is because Kishi's been working to end it and wrap up the story. But One Piece is all about expanding on its plot and its characters along with their interactions with one another. And you can tell he has a great sense of his plot and characters. Unlike Kubo and sometimes Kishi, he knows what he's doing.

DL
Actually, if me and Black-kun are right, kubo coulda known what he was doing all along :'o But yeah, can't find a manga like OP and FMA these days so easily Oh Fairy Tail has all that too, and pulls it off just as well, iirc

I frequent 3 forums and have 2 friends IRL who read Bleach and pretty much everyone is saying it's not as good as it used to be and oftentimes they don't even know where the f*ck it's going anymore. And everyone's hoping it'll end soon despite Kubo saying he'd do it another 10 years. Part of good writing is pulling off that epic twist while keeping your readers interested to find out where the story leads to it. If Bleach were a book, he could get away with it, but people rate manga based on weekly entertainment and it's not honing up to that department as well as other manga. And yeah, you're right about that, as far as characters go at least. I don't think it has the deepest story, which isn't a bad thing, but FT is more about being psyched about their current adventure as opposed to other manga where we're psyched about that, but especially the things to come, like in Naruto and One Piece. DL
Well I for one think the Fullbring arc was pretty epic, and interestingly creepy when Ichigo was running from the Tsukishima zombies And yeah, Fairy Tail is epic in character-wise But the plot isn't really deep Then again...it's not that deep with one piece either :T It's epic, sure, but not deep (as far as I can tell) new Fairy Tail arc is becoming epic btw Tho I just KNOW they got the point system off of Mario Kart

It's hard for me to explain, but I felt its execution overall was off. As for One Piece plot, yes and no. It's deceptively simple and there are a lot of jump-on points for readers who don't want to read all 600+ chapters. But there's lots of area with plenty of time to address. The fulfillment of all their dreams. Smoker's crew. Buggy's crew. Meeting up with Shanks. The other Yonko, especially Blackbeard's crew. There's Kidd's crew and Law's crew, and the other Supernovas. There's the other Shichibukai. Garp, Aokiji, Sengoku. Coby and Helmeppo. And all the many new enemies and different locations scattered in between. Sure, these are all characters, but characters lead to arcs and thus different parts of the plot. Nami led to Arlong Park. Crocodile led to Baroque Works and Alabasta. Merry Go led to Water 7 and CP9. Kokoro (or whoever the mermaid lady from Water 7 is) led to the Mermaid Island arc that just finished, as well as Thriller Bark. Thriller Bark led to Gecko Moria and Kuma. Kuma led to the god-damn timeskip and the realization they needed to get stronger. Ace led to Impel Down and the Summit War. See? It's deceivingly simple, but so damn deep.

Fusion X. Denver
I like deep universes. It's what made Durarara, Bebop, and One Piece appeal to me. If you think about it, popular franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter and Star Trek all have their unique universes; I believe that's key into making a franchise so memorable and easy to access. Fusion X. Denver
Well, everything has its own universe, it's how DEEP it is that makes them so interesting. The key is believing that even without the main story, the universe would still go on with just as many interesting stories and memories to impart. And that there can be so many different and interesting lives in those universes and seeing them interact with each other. I can't really express it well since what I just said can probably be applied to any universe, but the best I can say is those with the greatest depth are those that meet the most success.
