"How did I get them?" Casimer turned the dead-end corner to the Holding Area. "Well I gu-..." He cut off. He was POSITIVE he saw Nos go around this corner. So where was she?

"Obtain?" Dark Valkyria looked thoughtful for a moment. "I guess before humans banned civilian use of cards, you could just buy us like slaves. Yeah! That sounds acutrate, we're like a bunch of slaves you pick out and choose for yourself."

Evocator didn't seem to like this at all. "We are noble warriors, bound by duty and honor to do battle with the enemies of those who harbor us! Knights! Chevalier! Caballeros!"

"Yep! Like gladiator slaves!" Dark valkyria giggled.

"Hey, Do you have a key to this room? My decks weren't returned to me when I was released from solitary confinement a while ago. Before this tournament starts, I need to get them back, and if Im lucky, I might rebuild them with the Warden's good graces." Casimer looked over to Ivan. "I'd be happy to explain everything once I'm not in danger of getting killed."

"Aww, you're so boring, Casimer!" Dark Valkyria giggled. "You should live a little!"

"Hard to do when you're dead..." Casimer gave Dark valkyria a flat glare, then looked to Ivan. "Well, do you know how to get in?"

Lanz had been ignoring the two woman constantly trying to talk to him, though a part of him wanted to permanently silence the annoying pratteling of the first one. He honestly didn't care about what others thought to him since the only girl he'd ever cared about ended up dying because of him. Without his sister and the guilt hanging on his shoulders like iron weights Lanz didn't really care about his own person, even with everything he seemed to be doing on his own. When Astral sent the vidbots away he was certain he'd get mowed down by sniper fire . . . and to be honest . . . we was ready and willing to accept this kind of end to his life; he wanted nothing more than revenge on those who had wronged him, and he had somewhat acomplished that. Closing his eyes his hands didn't even close as he expected the end, only to be hit by Astral's words. He stated he was going to arrest him, but promtly wanted to know why he'd allow him to enter the tournament.

"Heh," was the soft reply as the same familiar darkness overtook him, filling heart with anger and hate enough to make it explode. It was the same anger which had gripped him when he was told his sister was already dead. It had taught him how to eat, how to drink how to breathe . . . it had taught him how a new way to live. This 'feeling' then had an idea, a bit of leverage might keep 'him' alive if for enough that he'd formulate a plan for true escape. Not raising his head Astral finished speaking and awaited a response, and was probably blown away by the response, "Don't you think it's odd that I escaped from the inescapable only to come back for a tournament, slapping about the Warden and insult you? The truth is I have been here in Mass Eclipse behind the walls watching everything that has been going on, gliding through security as just like a ghost, awaiting my true chance at freedom. But even you must admit a man to have done . . . what was thought insanity to ever attempt must be beyond normal intellectual standards. Allow me to participate in the tournament, drop all charges for my actions here, and I'll gladly tell you how I did all those things . . . and as a sign of good faith a little bit more . . ."

<OOC: I am assuming he doesn't know Lanz never really escaped, since he made a fuss about it and deleted all public records on him. You just don't do that if you don't honestly believe the person didn't escape.>

"Er, sir?" Olivia spoke up again, directly towards Astral and dropping the pose, "I just want you to know that, erm, I didn't truly wish for him to die, even if he is the most annoying person I've met. It was just a , er, 'heat of the moment' thing. It was overly dramatic and seemed to fit the mood. Oh and could you add, 'A clear lack of regard for the safety of others' to your list of objections. Oh, and please don't accept his request to 'tell you everything'. He's clearly psychotic or something. Just because he's done something that, and I quote, 'what was thought insane to do', end quote, doesn't mean he's of a higher level of intelligence. That's like saying slaughtering a puppy and wearing it's skin was intelligent. But still don't mind me. I'm going with the flow."

After all that, Olivia turned back to the woman who had whispered to her earlier. "Why were you defending what'shisface? Just trying calm down the nutter with some thinking or have you got a thing for what'shisface? I wouldn't have stuck up for him otherwise, but that's me. I don't patch up the holes in others' logic, I tear them open. I'm Olivia by the way, and I'm not insane. I just try to fit in with the mood." she stretched out a hand, "Who're you?"

"Well, I..." Nera began, but the other girl spoke up as well, so Nera kept quiet and let her speak. Surprisingly, she said pretty much everything she had wanted to, including to not to take up the offer Lanz was offering. Nera wondered if Mass Eclipse would even be able to capture Lanz this time, and why he wanted to enter the tournament in the first place. Something worried her about this situation, but she could not quite put her finger on it...

The the girl, who had introduced herself as Olivia, began questioning Nera's motives. "What'shisface?" Nera wondered what she meant, then it dawned on her that she must have meant the Warden, given she was using the snipers as a platform to argue on. "The Warden?" The disbelief in her voice was obvious. "I don't care for fools like him; I just didn't want that Lanz guy to get any ideas." She then accepted Olivia's handshake. "I'm Nera Tenei," she said, still unaware that her first name would have sufficed.

I wonder if Olivia would be willing to help me out... Nera thought to herself, appraising the woman. Unfortunately, any negotiations would have to wait, since they were still in danger if Lanz decided to pull anything funny.

when Feraku went under the door as a playing card, she cackled, with the cackling, she floated in mid-air and turned back to her normal form inside the holding room where the confiscated items were kept, she then sighed, she wasn't going to get her deck out without opening the door, so she scrambled in the documents to try to find a code and a fingerprint, but the effort was futile, she sighed, then She saw another Speck of light, this time, it was red, she face-palmed "Not another damn pixie!"....

Astral kept silent as Lanz, followed by the other girl spoke. Although Lanz's demenor seemed to have visibly changed, he offered an answer to why he did escape. But the logic in this was quite odd. Dropping all charges against him for striking an officer was an insane proposal, and one Astral doesn't agree with. He didn't like being told not to take his offer from someone else, but the girl did have a good point.

"That is an interesting offer Lanz Daren. But unfortunately, I am a firm believer in punishment for those who are in need of it. How you escaped has nothing to do with me, it's Head Warden Turner's job to explore his own failings." Astral closed his eyes in thought for a moment, then began, "I will ask that you come quietly one last time. If you do comply under the sentence of striking an officer and attempted escape, ignoring your rant about me, I will allow you to enter this tournament for a chance at freedom. Of course, if you do win, you'll have to live out your sentence before you obtain your freedom. That is fair. If you don't like my offer, I have two choices; either I have you dropped right outside of Mass Eclipse's walls, or I order them to gun you down into swiss cheeze."

"Hmmmm..." Ivan observed the door thoroughly with his magnifying glass, "I! See! This door is tripple steel-enforced padlock, blast resistant..."

And so Ivan went through the process of name all the features the door had just by looking at it, "... and ID key! So all I have to do is press my finger on it here..." he slipped off one of his gloves and pressed his index finger on a little black screen that beeped, signifying something, "Um. Now that I recall, I'm not really a Mass Eclipse officer, because I am the Head of Incoming Prisoners Escort, or IPE, so if this thing doesn't reconize me, another door will seal this one and the alarm will go off..."

But the door didn't open, nor did any alarm go off. Puzzled, Ivan pressed his finger against the screen again...

"He sure is stupid, huh? You'd better not get Casimer Killed, Idiot-Man!" Dark Valkyria mocked Ivan.

Casimer would have told Dark Valkyria not to callhim an idiot...but he couldn't find room to defend Ivan after that stunt. Even the boisterous Evocator was silent after that. Maybe Casimer should go back to his cell, and pray that nothing bad will happen to him? after all, that currently seems like a more effective way to stay alive. Speaking of staying alive, where was that heavily armed guard that was outside the solitary confinement center? Come to think of it...why are there Blast Doors outside the room that holds decks and papers? This whole prison was getting more inconsistent by the moment.

Casimer leaned against the wall, trying to make sense of the situation. The announcement for the tournament, which he signed up for, came over the loudspeakers. Casimer, who only had one deck, and his weakest of his three, ran to the solitary confinement area in hopes of getting his other two decks back. He arrived, and before he could negotiate with the guardsman, some woman appeared, almost running Casimer over, and immediately turned into a man. The guard ran off. Then Ivan appeared, and to Not-A-Woman went on some rant about not being caught, and bolted off for the solitary confinement's holding area--which is a room just outside the block of cells where the decks are held until the prisoners are released. Casimer ran toward them too, with Ivan following closely behind due to his intrest in Dark Valkyria, and probably Evocator too. When they rounded the corner, The Not-A-Woman was gone, and Ivan tried to open the door at Casimer's request. Ivan needlessly identified every single detail about the door, then attempted to set off the alarm.

Sure. all of that sounds reasonable, right? These types of things happen all the time. Casimer began to wonder why there would be Blast Doors outside the holding area. What could an unarmed prisoner possibly do? Why would they even try to do it? You can get more cards in the event that yours get damaged or stolen. Come to think of it...Casimer should have just done that in the first place. Crap!

"I-I-Idiot-Man?!" Ivan was once again insulted, but he couldn't find the courage to counter what the Duel Spirit called him, "Please. My name is Ivan Freeman!"

Finally the door slid open smoothly, one detail he forgot was the voice activation key. Rather than explain this part to Casimer, he stood proudly at the work he accomplished... which was openning a door.

"Please just grab you deck, and only your deck and be on your way."

"Should be easy enough," Casimer walked in, "I have a fairly good reputation with the guards, so they let me set it here on the shelf. Should be right here." Casimer walked up to a row of decks, picking one up, briefly looking through the cards, then setting it down, then he repeated this several times till he found his.

As he picked up the deck, Evocator vanished, being replaced by a Dark Crusader leaning lazily against the wall. "Is it time, yet, General?" His voice was reminiscent of Evocator's, but seemed to have a dark air about it.

"Yeah, it is." Casimer addressed the Dark Crusader. "Where's my turbo deck?"

"They probably placed it with all the other turbo decks, Casimer...." Dark Valkyria said.

"The oth-...?" Oh right, the turbo decks were held in a separate area, next to the Duel Runners. "Well, darn. At least turbo dueling has a slow start up. Maybe I'll be able to snag it when it starts up."

"You'd better hope--I eagerly await the day a stupid kid gets himself killed with a mistake." Dark Crusader seemed like the inverse of Evoator. While Evocator seemed to hold Casimer in high regard, Dark Crusader didn't. It was almost like a certain someone, however she....

"Talk to Casimer like that again and I'll obliterate you, lout!" ...wasn't in agreement with Dark Crusader. Dark Valkyria's gauntlets glowed with a soft violet sheen.

"Both of you stop!" Casimer slipped the deck away. "Geez, you act like children. come on, lets go." Casimer, seemingly jaded over the constant dealings with duel spirits, turned and left. He took a moment to make sure the armed guard wasn't there, then he made his way back.

"Keep up Ivan Idiot-man!" Dark Valkyria called jovially, completely putting the toss-up with Dark Crusader behind her in record time.

Despite his early threat to Casimer, Dark Crusader followed closely behind him, giving the feeling that the first thing to come close to Casimer would be cleaved in half by the massive blade he carried over his shoulder. It seemed like to these duel spirits, Casimer really was a "General", like Dark Crusader had called him.
The creature within Lanz truly wished to have the girl, who he overheard dubbing herself Olivia, to be silent once and for all. Every step he seemed to make she would invariably cause it to go two steps backwards. The down right truth of the matter was that he didn't like her in the least bit, more of a b*tch than anything, but the other one seemed to have more brains in her skull. Placing his hands in his pockets he turned around, apparently not caring about the trained snipers aiming for his head, and walked off a bit before stopping, "So you aren't responsable for anything that happens in Mass Eclipse even though you own the entire place? Even if that was so it makes little sense, the boss of the boss must always have the same responsabilities . . . and more. As for your offer . . ."

Whatever was in control of Lanz did not understand the 'drop you outside the walls of Mass Eclipse' but the being gunned down was as clear as daylight. Smirking, the confidence never leaving his face, he turned around and faced the man. He had ran through the possabilities and figured out teh best path. The chances of Astral knowing he was already a freed man, the second the tournament was over at least, was very slim and nearly impossible. Because of this even if he lost once the tournament was over he'd be free, as long as he wasn't in a jail cell; though if he was it'd be easy to escape again. This made the threat of living out his sentance if he won moot. So it remained that the basic facts were as followed:

1.) If Lanz survived not being incarcerated he'd be free when the tournament was over.
2.) 'Surrendering' would ease Astral, and possibly everyone else's, minds and allow him to enjoy the tournament at his own leasure.
3.) If he did loose the tournament it didn't matter, though he'd have to duck the guards until Mr. Jauger helped him escape.
4.) His plans to outwit the snipers ranged in the 65% probablility of succeeding range, not good enough when bullets were included in the equations.

"I accept," he finally said holding his hands up to show he didn't have a weapon, in his hands at least, and voice commanded his Duel Runner to shut off. Scowling as the guards slowly walked over he didn't like the idea of surrendering to anyone even if it was all just an act.

"Oh god, not the Warden!" Olivia was surpriserd with Nera's reaction. Realising she hadn't actually been specific, she said "I meant the television... man... person... Erm, what's his name..." Olivia closed her eyes in thought. As she scoured her mind for the name, Lanz spoke up and surrendered himself. This caused her Olivia to open her eyes and watch in a tentative stare.

"He's who I mean, I'm sorry but his name escapes me." Olivia pointed towards Astrals massive televised face and continued, "So, Nera, what do you think? Reckon he should even let this idiot compete? At the very least, he should be locked up in some high security locker. Seriously, let's see him get out of a locker."

the Door opened up in the room Feraku was in, and she sighed as they took off again, which allowed her to grab her decks, and allowed her to look through them, which in turn allowed her to make sure what she had was her decks... "Taikun Taikun... Yes, they're all here", She grabbed them and flew out of the office, and caught up with him, instead of a red speck of light, she saw a crimson speck of light.... she flew further ahead of Casimer and back into the mess hall....

Astral let out a sigh of relief and seemed generally better now. He never intended anyone to get hurt, but he has to be a strong leader, otherwise these prisoners would just run over him.

"Very good Lanz Daren, I'll see to it that you won't be disturbed while under arrest." Astral smiled, "Now, officers if you would escort him to the plateform along with the others, so we can continue from where Warden Turner left off, please."

A couple of Eclipse officers promptly walked to Lanz and began to lead him through the crowd of prisoners, although they were smart enough not to grab him by the arms. See that things were returning back to normal, Astral told someone offscreen something and the vidbots began to return to the Mess Hall.

"I guess I will be taking my leave now... Prisoners of Mass Eclipse, I truely hope you will use this oppertunity to show your better sides, show the world that mankind cannot be all evil."

Ending with a slight smile, Astral's image dissapeared from the giant screen. The Warden seemed to be talking things over with a few people who were on the balcony along with him. It seemed that it would take a few minutes for him to start up again.

[Location: Mass Eclipse, Solitary Confinement Block]

Seeing that the Duel Spirit called him Ivan Idiot-Man now was some progress, and yet another Duel Spirit appeared! Casimer was a interesting fellow... Now the gears of head were beginning to churn furiously, remembering everything he knew about the Spirits, digging up facts and data.

"J-Just how many Duel Spirits do you have... um... Casimer?" Ivan asked, keeping up with him, "It's not very common to have more than one Duel Spirit."

Feraku had almost forgotten to pick up her Turbo Duel Deck as well, so she shot towards the Impound lot from the air, she was in fact very fast, she literally created a gale as she flew, though not blowing over prisoners, it was actually tough enough to feel, she had reached the impound lot in literally seconds and used the same tactic she used before to get under the door, this time, she had plenty of time to get her deck through the bottom of the door and exit in the same manner as she entered...

Casimer decided he'd relax a bit until he was called to duel. Instead of go to the likely chaos of the mess hall, Casimer took a turn toward his cell.

"It's hard to explain. The ones from my deck hang around, but if I leave my deck somewhere, then they stay there. Echo is always around, though." Casimer explained. "If you had to describe me as "having" one, then I suppose she's the one I have."

"We're inseparable partners with a mission!" She said, wrapping her arms around Casimer. Of course, she couldn't actually touch him, so she just wrapped her arms around his form the best she could.

Casimer seemed to ignore the feminine form as it got closer. Dark Crusader moved out of the way slightly, and one could probably assume that Dark Crusader and Dark Valkyria could touch and affect each other. Whatever interaction Casimer had between his duel spirits and himself, Dark Valkyria seemed to take precedence in Casimer and the other spirit's minds.

"Why are you so interested, anyway? You're the second person I've met who actually knows anything about Duel Spirits." Casimer looked back at Ivan.

Dark Valkyria, curious to hear his answer, turned around as well, flying backwards. She crossed her legs and leaned back, as if resting her back on Casimer's shoulder, using him like a recliner. Dark Crusader, unlike Evocator Chevalier, was silent. Casimer seemed right at home with the spirits moving around and through him, completely unphased by their presence.

"A locker?" Nera immediately conjured up an image of Lanz being shoved into a school locker by Astral, as if Astral was a school bully picking on Lanz. "Pfft," Nera blurted out, almost breaking into a laugh. "Yeah, I'd want to see him put in a locker!" With that out of her system, she looked up towards the stage once again, and watched the officers carefully move into position. "It'd be nice if he didn't join, but something tells me he's getting into the tournament despite his disruptions here..."

Before she could say any more, Astral spoke again, for the last time before returning control to the warden. "Well, glad that's finally over," Nera said to Olivia. Looking around, she noticed that Astral's speech seemed to cause a bit of commotion among the prisoners down at ground level. "Maybe now we can finally see who's going to participate in the tournament."

Feraku got back to the mess hall in just a few seconds, where she stood, however was far away from most of the prisoners she knew. She actually wanted to pout, until she started to hear a Very loud, very deep voice "Get ahold of yourself Nosferaku! you still have me to talk to! Where the f*ck have you been you f*cking @$$hole!" Despite being very loud, almost none of the other prisoners heard it, except Possibly Casimer, and his Dark Valkyria, and Dark Crusader Duel Spirits

Ivan gave Dark Valkyria, or rather Echo, an odd look. She looked to be quite attached to Casimer, or was it something else?

"Er." Ivan blinked, realizing that the kid had just asked him something, "I studied them... Well, mostly the history. I've come up with countless theories on how they're here, and why some can't see them. It's pretty simple once you know your material."

Ivan also knew that the Spirits also can hold tremendous power, and how many mad people wanted to capture them for this power. He hated those people with a passion.

Nos Feraku whispered to her deck "Quiet down, there are people here that can see you" the voice in the Deck then yelled back "well i don't give a SH!T! That person can try to see me all he likes, but he will never find my @$$ that f*cking Retard of an @$$hole" as the voice cursed almost constantly, Feraku paced towards Ivan, letting out a sigh. then suddenly... the voice inside the deck yelled loudly "Are you f*cking listening to me you motherf*cking @$$hole!" it was so loud, Casimer, Dark Valkyria, Dark Crusader, and Ivan could hear it. Feraku sighed "All have found out, Flee before dawn" she chanted quietly....

OOC: Casimer and Ivan are going back toward the men's block. We aren't by the mess hall.

"It's simple enough." Dark Crusader said. "Some people just don't have natural energy in them. Your supposed "mad man" who try to harness us just have the gift of doing so, while others are too weak to even see us most of the time."

"Yep!" Dark Valkyria said happily. Ivan was bound to loose this when it came to ideals, since both Dark Valkyria and Dark crusader were evil.... "Humans are beings that manipulate things: Like weapons, tools, and other objects. Spirits manipulate energy. Therefore, we're on an entirely different wave...uh...thingy." She tried to find the word. "But some people, Like Casimer, can harness, or at least see energy, so he can see us!"

Casimer, who seemed to be ignoring the entire conversation, turned to look back at Ivan again, saying, "Don't get any ideas...I don't have magical powers, or anything."

Casimer and Tuck's cell was near the back of the men's block. Not quite all the way, but no where near the from. That gave Ivan and Casimer plenty of time to talk. Or rather, this gave Ivan and Casimer's two dark duel spirits time to talk. As they walked back toward Casimer's cell, several prisoners who weren't interested in the tournament shot Ivan dirty looks and glares when they passed the cells. To them, Ivan in his stuttering, nervous demeanor must have looked like fresh meat.

(> It could be an illusion yaknow? Feraku's literally 90% Blind either way, and sound and smell is her best ways of tracking <)

Nos Feraku's almost blind eyes were playing tricks on her as usual, she wasn't walking towards Casimer or Ivan, but some people that looked similar to them, but then, a loud voice came shouting from her deck again "well well Nosferaku, i suppose that you're looking for your f*cking reatrded friends... those obviously aren't them you dumb Motherf*cker! use your nose you b!tch!" She closed her eyes and smelled the air, She ran fast to where most of the smell led her....

Opening her eyes, She found herself in front of the Men's Cell Block, She giggled, Gender Specific rooms were absolutely no obstacle to her, which was the exact reason why she spent her jailtime in a Hole, After gnawing on a toothpick she picked up back at the mess hall, She turned into a Tall male in a typical Prison Uniform, with her usual red eyes and Black Scar on her face...

Ivan noticed the menaces behind bars, but he didn't care about them, at best if they touched him they'd be killed. So he simply smirked at them as if saying 'you're a bunch of idiots', which didn't seem to make them any better. A couple flipped him off, other cursed at him. Ivan decided to ignore them and continue talking with Casimer.

"Energy huh? Hmmm..." Ivan contemplated, taking out his magnifying glass and observing the two Duel Spirits with Casimer. "I see! Aha! Of course you don't have magical powers. That's just plain silly. But I've always had the theory that Duel Spirits reside in a different dimension, that only consists of them and their world, that can be accessed by few who have the gift of doing so. Which would explain why most people can't see them, but not how some people can. But since Dark Val- er, Echo, says that their just energy... I guess I'll have to change my theory and research from a different point of view."

[Location: Mass Eclipse, Mess Hall]

After the guards had led Lanz to the platform with the other popular criminals, with the odd absence of Dennono, it looked like the Warden finally got caught up with what he was supposed to say. He took the microphone and began to speak.

"Our tournament list has been updated with a few new competitors, not everyone will be able to compete. Eclipse's most advance computers have simulated duels with every citizen here, and has came up with a list of the best of the best."

Nera suddenly turned around when the sound coming from her earpiece, forgetting that she was still wearing the thing. Her confusion was momentary as she remembered that Astral is actually on the other side of the line. He warned her to not speak as much, but did not tell her why...

Realizing that she was caught up in the moment, she quieted down as she waited for the Warden to announce the tournament brackets. She noted that the Mass Eclipse computers was said to be able to simluate duels... How would that work for her? She never revealed all her cards! Does that computer have a record of all the cards she has? She wanted to ask Astral about it, but she couldn't just come straight out and ask the question; that'd look suspicious.

"Simulate?" she said to Olivia, but making sure Astral would be able to pick up her voice as well. "I don't think that's fair. I mean, that'd mean that the computer has a record of every card in everyone's decks, and watched them as they tweaked them. And I don't think they'd waste the energy doing that, so they'd probably use the records of the cards in everyone's decks..." she paused for a moment, thinking of something. "Don't you think, Olivia?" With the question asked, she only hoped that Astral would be able to pick up her inquiry.

"You perceive things almost effortlessly Nera." Astral chuckled, impressed that she came up with a theory so quickly, "But the reason I'm calling is because of your cards, I've come up with very little information, but your new theory just gave me another idea..."

Astral paused for a moment, accessing his computer again. He knew the Warden was big on dramatic effects, or at least what he made of them, so he would drag out the openning for a couple of more minutes before giving any real information.

"While I continue to dig, I figure I might as well tell you your results from the 'simulator'..." he again paused, wonder for a second if he should actually tell her, but then figured it would be worse waiting for the Warden drag it out, "Please win the tournament, it'll be much easier to work with you if you're out of Eclipse, plus I won't be under an investigation this way."
