ThatPhantomGuy
[Location: Mass Eclipse, Astral Phoenix's ME Quaters] Astral was quite puzzled by Nera repeating his last name over and over, until she asked that question. It was a very important one, and he knew Nera had a priceless piece of information in her head. She seemed to be in a bit of a daze though, so Astral thought it best to proceed slowly, but he wouldn't press too hard for answers. "No... I wasn't," Astral said slowly, but very intrigued, "Why do you ask?" He was pretty sure what the answer would be, but Astral had to make sure he wouldn't release any information she didn't know. He didn't want to confuse what she found out on the file, with what Astral knows.
encapturer
Why did she ask? Nera wondered why he would ask such a question about something so absurd. Wasn't Pure just an imaginary figurehead? The fact that he denied it made his supposed interest even more strange. Maybe there was a code in what she read? Still, Nera decided to just humor the man to see what he was after. "Hmm..." Nera began, trying to organize her thoughts. "Well, according to what I read - if I remember correctly of course - the man called Pure was a real person. He was around before Mass Eclipse was built, and was against its construction. For all his good intentions he was sort of a fool, and got himself convicted of assaulting... let's call him 'Unknown Phoenix'," she said, complete with air quotes. "I thought you were the Unknown Phoenix in this story, but obviously you aren't. After all, the Unknown Phoenix vanished without a trace." Nera shrugged after saying her little story. "I probably am forgetting something, but can you blame me? The whole story doesn't make sense." She took another drink of the grape juice to quench her thirst; it really was satisfying to have something like that to drink.
ThatPhantomGuy
Astral smiled at how she acted, he could tell she doesn't trust him and was on guard, but she was after more information... in a calm and seemingly effortless way. He was little surprised to actually hear what Nera found out, but she couldn't put the puzzle together, for she lacked some vital pieces. Astral reajusted his glasses, then sipped some of his grape juice. "So the whole story makes no sense, and you could be possibly forgetting something..." Astral said setting his glass down, he paused for a moment in thought then continued, "There are two things wrong with this story. But first, I guess I can trust you with the name of the officer who Pure assaulted. His name was Lester Phoenix, my brother." Astral found her company and 'cross examination' quite entertaining. But not for humorous reasons, but because he hadn't spoke with a person like Nera in a long time. And for a strange reason, started to develope a tiny bit of trust. encapturer
"What." Time in that office ground to a halt as Nera's mind tried to justify why Astral would say something like that. He was implying that her story, the general essence of it anyway, was true! "You're pulling my leg, aren't you?" The way he said it, though, made her believe there was a hint of truth in the statement. It was enough to rekindle her determination, instead of going through the motions everyday, and only doing the minimum in order to reach her goals. "Well then, If Pure was the one who attacked your brother, why is he idolized as the ideal leader of Celestial Impetus?" Nera asked, now leaning forward in the chair. "I mean, unless the man was actually too important to publicly disclose his crime or something."
The True Ace Attorney
As Olivia stared blankly forwards, she heard some noise from the library. This wasn't exactly out of the ordinary, her cell may as well have been inside the library considering how close it was, but there was something different about the noise. It was footsteps, but not the rhythmic ones of a CI patroller. These sounded slightly more careful than usual. Peeking outside, she had a quick look around and saw nobody. Deciding that it was probably worth a look, she left her cell and stepped into the library carefully, making sure not to issue any sound. She knew where all the creaky floorboards were, where the blinds spots were and were the trickiest passages were. If she was caught she knew she'd be able to get back to her cell in a moment's notice. As she edged around a rather large bookcase, she spotted a man wandering around the library. He was a prisoner and didn't seem to notice she was there. Despite the lack of danger he presented, she gasped, rather loudly, and quickly slammed her hands against her mouth, probably causing more noise with the resulting slapping noise. Hoping to be undetected, she stayed hidden behind the bookcase and waited until she was sure she could move without fear of detection.
ThatPhantomGuy
The spark in Nera's eyes were clearly visible, now she would want to get more information from Astral about the file. But he still was unsure to keep trusting her or not, Nera does have a few goals that Astral was interested in. "That's a very delecate question Ms. Tenei. I would have to have your absolute trust in order to answer that." Astral said, then took off his glasses and set it on the desk, "... I won't make this a writen agreement or have you in some contract. If we can trust each other then I can tell you." Trusting a prisoner of Mass Eclipse was taking a huge risk, but Astral knew that Nera was no ordinary prisoner, not only because of what she found out, but because of what she wants to do. encapturer
Astral's question made Nera a little uneasy. The way he spoke sounded like he wanted to trust her with the information. He even said that he wouldn't make their cooperation legally binding! Either he was going to feed her false information... or there was something going on that ran deeper than she realized. There was also the fact that Nera publicly declared her hatred of Mass Eclipse and planned to shut it down. As a Celestial Impetus officer, she wouldn't trust herself, which made things all the more bizarre. There was no way that Nera would let this chance slip, although she could not find it within herself to just say 'OK' if she really didn't plan to trust Astral. "Another question, then. Why me of all people?" Nera asked, getting to the root of her confusion. "It seems you already know what I discovered, better than I do even. And if you need someone to trust, I'm sure you have someone trustworthy on your payroll. I am a convicted felon, who attempted to shut down the very prison we're in. Whatever you have in mind, I'll still be working towards that goal. If, even with all that, you still want to trust me with your information then the least I can do is to not betray your confidence."

She looked like she was in her twenties...but he was taught, not to start asking a woman her age. He scratched the back of his head and said,"For a second there...I thought I was caught by a CI officer. But instead, I find a nice lady such as yourself." The True Ace Attorney
Shaking from the adrenaline forced through her veins from the fright, Olivia took a quick look to her left and right probably looking like a paranoid freak. Then she extended her right hand and shook it, with little effort as her body was doing that for her. As she let go she looked into the man's eyes and said, still trembling, "I'm Olivia. Olivia Garde." She did another quick look around, sweeping the area for any sign of CI officers, when she finished, she looked back at him and said, "We shouldn't be talking... If anyone finds us... We'll... we'll..." Olivia started crying a little. She thought about what she was doing and the punishments for it. Why was something so little punished so severely. Angry with her foolishness, she crouched down to the floor and continued to cry. She stifled the noise as best she could but she knew that no matter how silent she was, Lan was probably going to leave. She wasn't exactly leaving a great impression and she had just blatantly reminded him of the punishments. Jake the Sage
Feraku then said "Most of the officers they send to my cell actually have an IQ of 12, they just leave the door open. I also laugh when they lock the whole prison down while i'm still in the hole". She giggled and said "well, we can always go back to my cell, and hide you on the ceiling", she sensed that it was nearly time to go back into her cell, as she heard the keypad to her cell being tapped and said "aw Sh!t, we have to go! NOW!" at which she turned back to her winged form and after grabbing Lanz, she shot off, her tailfeathers immediately turning red, going at a speed that caused Lanz to register as a somewhat brief blur, She dodged the spotlights easily and shot into her cell just before it could close enough to keep her outside, she put Lanz in a blind spot of the door.
It had happened all too fast for Lanz. He'd gone through a lot of high speed chases on his duel runner, but that was nothing compared to how fast Feraku had moved. It was so fast in fact, that he couldn't see where he was going and . . . more importantly . . . it had gotten him seriously sick. Clutching his stomach he didn't even notice when she tossed him to a corner, he was just thankful to have somewhere to throw up. Once he had Lanz stood up and looked around at the enclosed cell, wipping some saliva off the corner of his mouth. Eyes still fuzzy from the last few dry heaves he stood up and looked at the mysterious woman, "So now what? Big Bad Pennar
Nos Feraku sat in a meditative position and closed her eyes, as Lanz said those words, she said "the best way to show you how I escaped is to actually show you, you see, they send officers to inspect my cell at least 4 times a day, 1 in the morn, 1 at lunch, 1 at Dusk, and once 1 hour before-" before she continued, She heard footsteps coming towards the cell, they were too faint for Lanz to hear, but she heard them nonetheless. She then grabbed Lanz and his backpack and crawled in the blindspot in the ceiling after her legs and hands turned into gecko feet, she whispered to Lanz "Be very quiet, otherwise we're royally screwed." The D.M.
Robert sat in the adjacent cell to Lanz and tapped buttons at a breakneck pace on his Minicomputer, connecting to news feeds, email, a pad where he made entries onto a sort of journal. "A bit of notable movement from the Guards and prisoners today...but nothing special, sh*t like this happens almost every day. Nobody cares to be in this hell hole. Myself included. No requests as of late, which is good i suppose." He finished his log entry and opened up a few tabs on various forums and pornographic sites. Not to take care of any business. But rather from sheer boredom and to remind him what a female form looked like as he hadn't been with anyone since his incarceration...or ever for that matter. It was however irrelevant to him as he snapped into reality for a moment to just faintly acknowledge that something was happening in the cell next to his. He paid no mind however. ThatPhantomGuy
[Mass Eclipse: Astral Phoenix's ME Quaters] Astral knew what he was proposing was insane, moreover confusing. But he knew Nera was a very intelligent woman, so she wouldn't do anything stupid. "The reason why I would trust you? It's because of what you said during your trail in court. You didn't hate Mass Eclipse because you were going there, but for what it stands for." Astral answered, not really showing showing if this made him angry or inspired. He stood up and walked to the elegant door and pressed a button on the side of it, soon another door slid in front of the elegant one. Astral then went and sat back down in his chair, pressing a switch on the computer screen on his desk. His expression was serious. "Truth is, there are few officers I really trust. I've been recently questioning if The Celestial Impetus really is for the better of mankind, if we really are making the world a better place..." Astral stopped dead in his tracks, whether or not Nera actually trusts him, he would have to trust her now.
encapturer
Nera's eyes closed themselves while she listened to Astral's reasoning, taking it all in. By all accounts, she has no reason to trust him. He's the leader of Celestial Impetus, and no matter what he says, that group is the one responsible for Mass Eclipse. And yet, there was something else. She wanted to hope. She wanted to know that she didn't have to shoulder her burden alone. She wanted to believe that the man in front of her was truly willing to change things for the better. "Hahaeheheheh...." Nera spontaneously broke into laughter. It seemed to do some good, as all the tension in her body was drained away and her face became notably more relaxed. "You've got me," Nera said, throwing her hands into the air in defeat. "If you're actually going to trust a criminal who wants to tear this very building down, then I'll go ahead and trust the leader of the group that built this godforsaken place." While she tried to sound somewhat disinterested, the fact that she was very much at ease and even displayed a faint smile betrayed her feelings of relief. He looked at Olivia and then took a small handkerchief and handed it to her. "Please don't cry...Ms. Olivia.." Lan finally said with a slight smile. "I don't really like to see ladies crying." He smiled a little at Olivia and tried not to seem like some weird and bad person. The True Ace Attorney
Olivia took the handkerchief with a slight whimper of thanks and wiped her eyes. Standing up, she looked Lan in the eyes and said, in a more steady voice, "I'm sorry, but I don't know anything about the tournament. The only thing I can gather is that it's not a good thing, though that's not exactly breaking news..." She took a quick look around then, when she was sure there was still nobody else, she continued, "Another thing is that if there is so much emphasis on the prize being good, not winning must be terrible." She sighed deeply and offered Lan his handkerchief back and said, her face slightly red "Thank you for this, Lan. I think I should head back now before anyone comes in here and finds us. Unless you want to talk more? It's a pity we can't talk to each other publicly. What are those rules in place for anyway? It's just silly... I hate this place." She finished by crossing her arms. After thinking what she had just said over, a slightly shocked expression covered her face, she had gone through about three different topics without even giving Lan a chance to speak. Her face reddened a little more as she started to fidget a little uncomfortably.
Super Chaos Sonic
Lan listened to Olivia and then nodded. "Yeah, in this tournament...winning is everything, I suppose." he sighed. "Though I'd like to talk to you more." He then thought of something and quickly asked,"Hey, when the tournament starts....do you want to form a small alliance? That way, no matter what happens, we'll have each other to rely on in this tournament!" He wanted to know if Olivia was in, but he wasn't sure if she would want to form an alliance with him or not. This would then be paled when her hands and legs turned into those of a gecko's that allowed her to c limb the wall with him in tow. Putting her hands around his mouth, preventing him from talking, she whispered that he needed to be quite or they'd both be 'royally screwed'. If anything would have stopped him it was the fact she included herself . . . if she'd said anything else he'd have attempted to get free of her grip, but once includes oneself in a bad outcome there is little reason to doubt them. Soon he understood why, the sound of footsteps coming closer towards the prision cell . . . and since it was after curfew Lanz'd have to guess it was a guard. Maybe i'll pay him a visit first..." at which she heard the tapping of the keypad, she also heard more footsteps coming this way, again, too faint for Lanz to hear, but she can hear them, she sighed silently as the keypad tapping took longer than usual. She whispered into Lanz's ear "I'm gonna have to drop you off somewhere sa-", she shut herself up as the door opened, it was now or never, She jumped, grew her wings and tailfeathers very quickly and shot herself into the guard, literally throwing him into the air, she was right, at least 10 other guards took aim at Nos Feraku with their guns, 3 of her tailfeathers turned red as she dodged the bullets that were fired, She dove and dropped Lanz at the mess hall, where she originally was when they met. she then spoke in a shallow voice "They're after me, go back to your hideout..." before she turned to leave, and without Lanz knowing of it, she left a duel token in Lanz's pocket, and she flew with 5 out of her 12 tailfeather's turning red, the guards still shooting at her with their Tranquilizer guns. Jake the Sage
Lanz was slightly confused when he was dragged out of the cell, but he had gotten used to it. By the time they "landed" he had a clear understanding of what was going on . . . she was making a break for it. Feeling the duel token in his pocket he pulled it out and got a frown on his face. Watching Feraku dodging the tranq darts as fast she could, he knew she couldn't keep it up forever, and decided to do something out of the ordinary. Tossing the duel token out amongst the guards one noticed it and then the fist slamming into his face. While the first guard was falling Lanz managed to wrench the tranq gun out of his hand, but not without breaking some fingers, and shot the other guards. Sighing as if he had planned it all ahead of time he stood back up and wipped his brow; the truth was this never would have worked if he hadn't attacked the guard in the rear. Big Bad Pennar
The unfortunate thing had happened as Lanz saved Feraku's hide, Feraku was hit by a tranquilizer dart on the left wing. she felt very tired, flying a little downward, she hit the side of some building near Astral's office, causing a bit of a thud. A few seconds later, she landed on the ground, numb and almost falling asleep, the last thing she saw before she fell fully asleep was several guards walking up to her. A few minutes later, she came to, finding herself in some kind of office waiting area, she suffered a headache from the rough landing, and also felt something that made her cringe, she was put in a straitjacket while she still had her wings and tailfeathers out, there was no way in hell that the straitjacket would fit her comfortably in her current state, so she shrunk the wings and the tailfeathers, but when she tried to shrink her tailfeathers, she felt a very great pain, without the ability to shrink her tailfeathers, she couldn't make herself comfortable... The True Ace Attorney
"A-alliance? But it's not a Tag tournam... Oh!" Olivia was struck heavily by common sense, "You mean we help each other! I'm good with that. But..." She paused, thinking over the problem in her head. "We can't communicate with each other... I know! How about you take some of those guards..." Olivia paused again, searching for the right word, her mind was buzzing with excitement. A "project" was always something that got her mind flowing." "Get some of those guard communication thingies... And get them to me, I'm good with tech. I can take out whatever is in their that could, erm, lead them to me. You know, tracking stuff, and then I can maybe, and that's a big maybe, get around to making them a little harder to see, if I need to." Olivia was talking fast, quietly and manically, all the while moving and looking around excitedly. It was all going through her head like the clipshow sequences in television programs. Catching herself and stopping any further quick talking, she looked at Lan and said, quite calmly, "That's if you want to, Lan. I won't force you to, we could just help each other if we get wind of anything and talk to each other in secret. Either way, it'd be kinda cool. So, Lan, what do you say? I'm up for anything." Olivia was smiling happily now, the first time since she'd been locked in this place.
Super Chaos Sonic
Lan looked at Olivia, who was gung-ho for this, and smiled. "I'm going for it." he said with a smile. He then thought of something and said,"OK, first I need to know, how do I get the communication devices from the officers? Its not exactly like I can go up to them and ask them to please give me two of them and then go off and come back here." He sighed and then ran his hands through his hair. "How in the world are we going to do this? The only possible way I can think of doing this is to duel one of them and get two of them for the prize at the end of the duel, but...what if I lose? What if all my tokens are gone...I-I-I'll die.." Right now a strike of fear hit Lan as he thought about if he dueled them and then lost the duel. The True Ace Attorney
Olivia gave a small hissing noise of annoyance and started thinking, and started to talk at the same time, in the quick manic voice again, "I doubt that dueling them would be a great idea, to be honest. I doubt your identity would be secret if you were spending a good few minutes talking with a guy, and it'd knock that duel token risk off the table wouldn't it. Though since we're stealing from an officer there are still massive risks. I think our best bet would be to draw one officer in here, it's too dark for them to see anything that clearly which I guess is why we haven't been noticed my cameras yet." She paused for a moment, thinking to herself with her hand to her chin. After thinking it through a little more, she continued, still in her manic manner, "Yeah, we'll need to draw one guy in their own then knock him out before he gets a look at us. We're in a library so there's plenty of heavy objects. After he's gone down, we take his communicating thing and... Use it... We use it to get another guy in here then do the same thing to him... Or drop a bookcase on him... Actually, keep that as a backup... Anyway, we take both of those things and then, using, oh I don't know, a staple remover," Olivia pointed out the fanged device on one of the shelves of books, "Tear out whatever could be used to track them..." Olivia froze. She thought over what she had just gone through. It seemed crazy to her. Almost entirely insane. "Erm... I'm sorry, but I probably went a little mad didn't I? We don't have to do this. If we are though, we'll have to do it quickly, it's getting late so we'll need to get back to our cells soon. I won't have any trouble getting back but I don't know where you need to be so... Damn it!" Olivia realised she was going off on a tangent again. "Going mad again... So what's going on?" She felt terrible that she spoke so fast and was forcing the decision making onto Lan but she knew that it was easier for her to escape if anything went wrong than it would be for him. He didn't create it, he didn't fund it, and didn't support it. But it was built anyway, so he had to take responsiblity. Her smile assured him that she would indeed keep this trust. "Well then Ms. Tenei, now since I have your trust, I'll tell you what happened 9 years ago..." Astral started, taking another drink from his glass.
Lester Phoenix, my brother, and I were Pure's righthand men. We worked very closely with Pure, helping to find some of the world's evilest criminals. Soon, my brother came up with an idea. An idea that would seal away the 'dirt' of the world and keep them out of sight, to 'clean' mankind's primitive beings. It would be a massive prison located underground in a part of the world where no one could escape. "Mankind's Mass Eclipse" Lester called it. He proposed the idea directly to Pure. After Lester explained not only the solitary, but how prisoners would play Duel Monsters to survive and kill in there, Pure hated it. Lester wouldn't take no as an answer, he was dead sure this was to be the fate of almost all criminals. Lester took his idea to someone else in The Impetus, and they started funding the opperation, and began to build the underground prison. Pure tried once again to reason with Lester, but he wouldn't listen, so Pure knew the only way to stop him, is to kill him. Lester avoided Pure's attempt, and I had to arrest Pure. Later on, a secret trial was held, and Pure was convicted for attempted murder and sent to the very place Pure tried to stop from building: Mass Eclipse. Pure was placed into an unknown Solitary Cell or a 'Hole', and Lester Phoenix dissapeared after the trial.
Astral sighed deeply after explaining the whole case, he felt a little bit of weight was lifted off of his shoulders after telling Nera, "But I never approved the building either. I disagreed along with Pure, but I never went to such lengths as her..." he looked to have something in his eyes after he trailed off on his last word, and he stood up to face the large painting behind him.
