Hello one and all to the YCM Awards I am your host for this years YCM Awards. The Voting thread should be up soon this thread is where you post any questions you have on the awards and find out who the Council Members are.

You can Vote by clicking this thread : http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/231813-ycm-awards-december-2010-were-back/

Here is this years council :

King.

Opalmoon.

Flame Dragon.

Twig.

Fading Black.

Fusion X. Denver.

Smeargle.

Clair.

Note - Not finalized yet, I'm still going to allow two more members preferably a Graphics Artist and someone else from the poll that was taken. You're still welcome to PM me if you wish to be in the council. However begging/whining in this thread will lower your chances of me accepting you.

[spoiler=FAQ]Got a question about the awards? Feel free to ask in this thread! I will try my best to answer them and I will add the question and answer to this spoiler.

One question, for best role play, can we nominate dead/locked ones or does it have to be current? I'd think we could since it might have been one of the best RPs ever and worthy of recognition, but I just wanted to check.

Eh...I guess.

I think it's just that there really aren't a lot of fanfics that receive good attention..

DL and El have good fanfics, but they're both Naruto, so that repels Naruhaters. Otherwise, I think their stories are just as good as mine.

So is Cortez's, though it's a little weird sometimes >.>

There may be a really obvious answer to this, but I find it... wierd... that a website about cardmaking does not have a 'Best Card' and 'Best Set' award. Just saying there could be, even if was done on an application/nominated basis.

Just wondering.

Edited bit: Have submitted my votes on the areas I'm fairly active and able to judge. I suppose you'll probably want to question my voting for a game that finished 6 weeks ago. Well it is about the only game I've seen that has involved some thought and real risk-reward play. Which is a good reason.

Also seen I've had two nominations for 'Rising Star' from Clair and Jake, thank you very much, I'm humbled.

I am glad to see the return of these awards, i really liked them even 3 years ago, a perfect way to honour the members ^_^

OH GOD YOU'RE BACK?O_o

Yeah good job with the Awards, I'd just appreciate if the team was set up more officially, so that newbies get a chance too but I guess next time.

Oh well I cried manly tears.D: Thanks for voting so far, it makes me feel like I'm doing...well what should be done.:3

Consider that an average of 20 new threads are posted every single day just on Realistic Cards, that each of those threads gets an average of 3 replies, and each Set around 2. Does any of those categories seem viable in the least?

A lot of those are the threads that don't stand out in the least in the end though. If I had some more time, I could go through and find some past sets I've seen and find them. The ones that should be nominated stick out when seen. The set one at least is viable.

Perhaps the Set idea could require the set to be complete?

You have to consider that most of the people that vote in the Awards simply do not check out Sets - if they even look at cards at all. Personally, I drop by RC when I want to post a card of my own, and that's it. I'm sure it applies to the vast majority of YCM regulars. Most people would just skip those categories altogether, which meant the winners would win by what, 2 votes? Default?

There's no reason not to have them, but I think they'll be ignored. Single cards are way too many to even consider, while Sets are a largely overlooked part of the site.

I don't oppose them, I just don't find a good reason to include them; of course, I won't object if they're present on the next edition.

Yeah, I realise the amount of cards released makes it hard, but there are cards that stick in the mind. That's why I suggested by application to council. It's not a problem, just found it odd, given this is yugiohcardmaker. Well I guess we have the king/queen of each section so yeah.

Has anyone else noticed Opalmoon and MarbleZone are tied for best Mod at 8-8?

I want to see who'll win there...

Drumroll...
