CrystalCyae
"AZUKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!!!!!" A voice screamed in Azuki's ear. "OW!" She opened her eyes wearily, seeing really bright colors dance in her vision, fading away as the loud noise faded. She turned her head to see her little brother, Matt. "Azuki, you have to get up! Or I'll tell Mum YOU slept in on a school day!" He told her smugly, clearly looking foward to Azuki getting in trouble. "Ok then Matt, I'm up." She sat up, twisting her back slightly in a stretch. "You're still late." Matt went to walk out, not noticing the pin sitting where his foot would land in a moment. "OK Matt, just make sure you don't step on that drawing pin on the floor." Azuki said calmly, swinging her legs and standing up. Matt looked startled when he noticed the pin just under his hovering foot. "How'd you know it was there?" He asked. Azuki grinned. "I have my ways..." She said mysteriously. Matt stuck out his tongue. Azuki laughed, then shooed him out. "Hey! Why are you making me leave?" Azuki shook her head. "1, You're invading my privacy, and 2, I'm getting dressed, and I'd much prefer it if you WEREN'T in the room while I did so." Matt's eyes opened wide and he scampered away. With a laugh, Azuki closed the door.
Asriel Dreemurr
A young man, appearing to be about age sixteen, was calmly walking down the sidewalk of a small suburban area to wards the high school he had been attending for one year thus far. The boy wore a pair of simple black sneakers and black jeans held up with a red leather belt that had a rather large buckle which was completed with two prongs to hold it tight. His shirt was also simple and black, bearing an emblem of a skull surrounded by three pairs of crossed bones which were themselves surrounded by a circle, all done in white. His face was ordinary enough, except for the large square bandage near the corner of his mouth on the left side and the longer, thinner bandage on his right cheek. He had a wide grin on his face, but kept his lips closed and hiding his teeth, and his bright eyes held a cheerful energy behind their gray coloration. His mid-length black hair was spiked up around his head in spikes of irregular size. A chain hung around his neck, disappearing behind his black shirt and the straps of a plain black backpack hung over his shoulders as he whistled tunelessly on his way to the school. In his left hand he held a small bag of donuts, planning to have a little snack for later in the day when he was having trouble staying awake, though he didn't think it would be a problem because the greatest physical exertion he would have to deal with that year was lugging his Cello around and that was one thing he didn't have to do on the first day. This, was Edward Verhast; and he had no idea just what was really in store for him this year.
Dharc
Alex strolled outside, one strap of his backpack slung over his shoulder, and his hands in his pockets. It was a bit crisp for late August, so he had on his old blue zip-up sweatshirt that he never seemed to grow out of. As he walked down the sidewalk toward his bus stop, he noticed a kid with spiky black hair that was lugging a cello in the same general direction. Alex thought he had seen this kid around somewhere before, but he couldn't quite place where. He walked at a faster pace and eventually caught up to the boy, slowing back down so they were walking at an even pace. "Hey, you need some help with that? 'Cause it seems a bit heavy...Well, that's just my two cents, anyway." Alex wanted to know where he had seen this kid before, and he wasn't going to rest until he knew where.
Asriel Dreemurr
Edward started a little bit, confused for a moment as to what the boy was talking about as he wasn't carrying his Cello(sorry man, He's not carrying it now) as he turned his head to look at the other boy, the smile staying on his face. "No, I'm quite alright. Thank you though...oh...would you like a donut?" He calmly opened the small bag he carried in his left hand, revealing a combination of simple glazed and filled donuts as well as several donut holes. He offered it to his new acquaintance, letting him pick out one if he wanted to. As he did this, he managed to remain perfectly on his way to the bus stop on the sidewalk, despite the fact that his head was turned to such an angle that forward vision would be nearly impossible. Well, I'll make it about donuts.)) "Heh, so you got my implication. Sure, I'd love one." Alex reached into the bag, pulling out a simple powdered cinnamon donut. "My favorite," he explained. As he continued to walk along, the burning question in his mind wouldn't go away...Where was he from? "Oh, sorry, but you look really familiar, and I can't really figure out why...And you don't have 'that familiar sort of face,' so..." Alex's voice trailed off, and he then stopped as they got to the pick-up point and waited for the other students.
Spartan919
Jason left the house without saying a goodbye to his parents. They knew where he was going, no matter how much he didn't want to go. Oh well, watcha gonna do? He sighed, chuckled at what he knew his parents would be doing--and that's when he noticed the two other people at the pick-up spot. Something about them seemed off; they must be like me, he decided Wonder who they are...He noticed that one was eating a doughnut, and his stomach growled. Shut up! I fed you already! He smiled as he approached them. "Hey there. You two going to high school too? Could I get a doughnut, by the way?"
Asriel Dreemurr
Edward let out a rather deep chuckle at Alex's question as to where he knew him from, trying himself to figure out where he knew the boy's face from. It took him a moment, but he soon realized that it just might have been at the dojo down town where he had taken Karate Lessons. "Well...did you ever take Karate lessons? We could have met there." Ed calmly turned around as he heard another boy coming, looking him over and, without realizing what, being able to see some sort of oddity about him. He shook the thought away as he was asked for a donut and, laughing to himself inwardly, offered the open bag to him. Well, looks like what dad said is true; the guy with the donuts gets instant popularity. He now pulled a small pocket watch from, guess where: his right pocket, and flipped it open, noticing that the time read 8:32. He calmly put the watch away and, waiting until Jason had taken his own donut, reached in and pulled a vanilla-cream filled donut out before taking a bite of it. He swallowed it before speaking. "The Bus should be here before too much longer."
CrystalCyae
Azuki, black bag perched precariously on her shoulders, opened the front door. "See ya later Mum!" She declared, jumping donw the front steps. "Don't forget you-" "MUM!" Azuki called. "I know already. All that holiday homework stuff is in my bag! Jeez....." She sighed. "Well, just have a good day dear." Her mother answered from inside. "I will!" Azuki promised, closing the door with her eyes closed, not that her mother would've noticed anyway. With a skip in her step, she walked out the front gate, and closed, with her eyes still shut. After the gate latch clicked softly, Azuki opened her eyes again. "First day back at school!" She cried happily. She glanced at her watch. "The bus should be arriving soon..." She muttered, walking down the street to the bus stop.
~ Dākunaitomon ~
Jake was Jogging to School with Omega residing in his cell phone. "Phew ah feel the burn" Jake then saw a minor fiasco near the bus stop with kids eating doughnuts "I suppose I don't have to jog today... Oy you guys waiting for the bus? I wouldn't recommend eating doughnuts this early might get a Stomach Ache..." The Bus Arrived opening it's doors revealing a Bus Driver who looked like Otto from the Simpsons "Oy what's up dude's and dudettes? now I want to laly down some ground rules 1 no making out 2 no standing up while the bus is moving 3 Shut up at the rail road tracks 4 no eating 5 I'm NOT doing drugs and 6 have this memorized. ok?" CrystalCyae
(OOC: I have no idea who Otto is, so don't expect my usual descriptiveness when it comes to the bus driver) Azuki arrived, breathless, at the bus stop. She'd noticed the bus coming, and had sprinted the finally bit to make sure she made it to there on time. But, noting the possibly INSANE bus driver, she almost wished she hadn't. She listned to his rules, memorizing 4, but excluding No. 1 and 5. She hadn't thought the bus driver was on drugs anyway, and who would be doing THAT in a bus? "Some bus drivers are crazy." She thought to herself. Pulling her bag off her back, she rumaged in the front pocket. "Where is it?" She muttered, flicking black hair from her eyes, just in time to see a flash of blue inside the bag. With a slight triumphant smile, she pulled out a bus ticket she'd bought the year before. And before you slap yourself on the head, she's not an idiot. It's one of those "last-a-year" tickets. However, she stood aside, gesturing for the others to get on before her. Asriel Dreemurr
Edward listened to the Bus Driver, taking in everything he said and memorizing his rules as he finished eating his Donut, rolling the opening of the bag back up and holding it in his left hand as he calmly made his way on the bus. He wasn't exactly surprised that his neighborhood had gotten this particular driver this year and he wasn't bothered by it either. He made his way to the nearest open seat and calmly took it, not caring about anyone who might have thought they had a reservation for that particular seat. His mind was on what he was going to do that day, and he didn't have time to think about the possible consequences of where he sat.

BLUR
Tyron woke up and checked his clock next to the bed. It read 8:38. "...8:38...I can sleep some more right?.....8:38.....I MISSED THE BUS!!!" Tyron quickly go toff the bed and put on his clothes. "Good thing I took a shower last night!" He ran to the kitchen where his mom was making breakfast. "Mom it's too late for breakfast!" His mom turned to see him and said good morning, then she looked at the clock and saw that Tyron was late for the bus. "Tyron you really need to be more responsible!" she said. "Well you could have woke me up..." he replied. "Well just use your gifts to get to school" she said. Tyron sighed and shape-shifted his hands to Eagle wings, which oddly didn't rip the sleeves of his plain black T-Shirt. Tyron went out the back door and used his wings to fly to school, but first went high enough to be out of sight. "What a great first day of school so far..." and then Tyron laughed. CrystalCyae
Azuki got onto the bus next, taking a completely empty spot near the back. Not that she minded company, but she prefered it when people came to her. Going up to strangers and starting a conversation wasn't exactly her style. She folllowed the opposite version, them coming to her. Glancing at her watch, she knew there was certainly plenty of time before school would start, so she figured she could read a book. Placing the ticket back in her bag, she pulled out a small, wrapped box. Her birthday had been the day before, and her mother had placed one of the presents in her bag, no expecting Azuki to find it. Azuki, however, hadn't really been in the mood for hide-and-seek-presents, and, besides, she'd known the present had been there anyway, and she had a feeling she knew what it was. Tearing the wrapping paper slightly, she saw a flash of gold, and the letter R. Nodding she gently eased the book out of the wrapping, shoving the paper in her bag. Glancing at the book cover, she grinned. "The Red Pyramid..." With a smile, she began to read, just to pass the time.
Magnet Soldier
((Dont know the grades really, so am going to put ages.)) Lyle sighed as the other students at the school boarded the bus. He was already on board, near the back on his laptop, ignoring the 14 year olds shouting at each other across the bus, about stupid things such as an episode of some cartoon he'd never heard of that was on last week. Lyle sighed and tapped enter on his laptop, sending a message to one of the few friends he'd had in England. He sighed and closed the laptop, closing his eyes while he shoved an ear phone from his IPhone into his ear. "Can you please shut up?" He stated, leaning forward to a 14 year old taking part in the shouting. The kid shook his head laughing, turning back to his friend and shouting even louder. Lyle sighed again, a thing he did often, disappointed that his british accent had no effect on the boy. It seemed to help him when talking to girls, they all seemed to swoon slightly at it, but alot of the boys, especially the younger ones, never seemed to talk anything he said seriously. He was bored, and while spaced out with his music - both earphones were now in both ears - he started to probe minds, subconciously. He was reading the boy infront of hims, and it seemed he was thinking about pranking Lyle. Lyle put a stop to that quickly, taking that plan and erasing it. It was a cool power, but he made sure not to use it too much. Especially on the same person every time, as it messed up their head, sometimes even erasing the person's mind, leaving them a blank shell. He also knew which people were empowered, because he couldn't get in their minds very easily, they always seemed to be protected, some more than others - although he can get the surface thoughts. He noticed at least five on the bus alone, and could pin point them exactly. One was a girl about 2 years younger than him, on the same row as him, on the other side, totally engrossed in a book. One was near the front, presumably taking the first seat he'd seen. Another was leaning against a window a few rows in front of him. He also felt one pass above the bus, fainter than the others but still strong enough. After all, it was only about half a mile away. He could feel many others aswell, such as one guy he'd seen the year before, in a few lunch breaks, and one eating a doughnut(Yes, that's how we spell it). He chuckled as he noticed that one, knowing that he'd probably end up with the doughnut on the floor, covered by yesterday's dinner, and maybe lunch. He sighed and leaned back, listening to the words of the book the girl was reading as they skimmed her mind. He was kind of looking forward to school today, as he never had to do much work - he could read the minds of the teacher - and was very intelligent anyway. And he got away from his parents, and got to meet knew people. He decided he'd start now, and stood up to move next to the girl reading. "That's a good book. Great read." He said, starting the conversation.
CrystalCyae
"Hmmn?" Azuki looked up, startled. She'd been so into the book, and then he had interupted. If that's happened to you, it's a weird feeling. She recovered her composure, and nodded. "Yeah, it is a good book." She smiled. She noticed a girl a few seats back swooning, glancing a Lyle. "Huh? Ok, that's slightly awkward. Never could understand why some girls fall head over heels for random guys...... Still don't." She pushed the thought from her mind. Magnet Soldier
"Cant wait 'till the rest of the series comes out. Bound to be great." Lyle said, also noticing the girl blushing and such. He didn't even glance back. He put his mind into hers and made her look away, another bonus of his powers. Lyle smiled, looking back towards Azuki. "I'm Lyle, and, if you haven't noticed, I'm british. What's your name?" He asked. He lowered his voice so it was unaudible except to him and Azuki. "And what's your power?" He whispered. Although quietly, he still said it as if he was talking about the weather or something random. He glanced back at the girl who'd almost swooned for him, making sure she was looking away like everybody else, and so as to not look conspicuous. He did this every so often, mainly because it was natural, and mainly because he didn't want to seem out of the ordinary. When he made sure no one was listening in - or no one he could touch minds with - he turned back to Azuki.
CrystalCyae
"My name's Azuki!" She said. She heard his question, and dropped her tone, knowing this sort of topic shouldn't be noticed. "What are your powers?" she asked.
Spartan919
Jason had gotten on the bus, and out of sheer excitement, was shoved into the first empty seat. He sat there quietly, hit by a sudden wave of shyness. The other students were all rushing by him, and the driver had called out some rules. Like I would have any need to break those rules, he thought with a quiet laugh. Sighing, he tried to think about the sudden shyness. He was confused, not usually shy. I hope it'll pass. It would put a damper on my rep, he thought; then he couldn't take it anymore. He burst out laughing, loud; after a second he stopped. Several students were looking at him. Jason blushed, and brushed a piece of black hair away from his face. "Joke," he said simply. He reached into his bag and pulled out a book: Boot Camp by some guy, Todd Strasser. Jason had never heard of him, but he enjoyed the suspense, and the action and violence of course.
Magnet Soldier
"Well, it should seem obvious. How else would I know that you're a Super, the guy a few rows in front of us and the guy who just burst out laughing at the front were also Supers. I'm a Telepath, among other things. Aswell as Telepathy and Telekinesis, otherwise known as Psychic powers, I'm a Phaser - I can walk through things - have enhanced Senses and can create weapons at will." As he said the last one, a small knife popped into his hand, then disappeared again. "I dont really like the last one, but it'd be good if I get attacked." Lyle said, sighing. "Oh, and I cant read supers minds with my Telepathy, not very well atleast. They all seem to have unnaturally strong defences, which is how I know they're there. So dont worry about me prying anywhere I shouldn't." Lyle said, grinning. He looked down at the book Azuki had been reading a moment ago, surprised that someone could lose interest in something so quickly. He also noticed a bit of wrapping paper on the floor next to her, and looked back up at Azuki. "Is it your birthday? Because there's some wrapping paper on the floor near your foot." He pointed out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Akira smiled as he walked out in front of the school, near enough to the bus stop outside the school to be noticed by the students, and far enough away not to be hit by the drivers reckless driving. He looked around as he heard the bus's engines already, but knew that it would still be a while away. He wondered how many students would be empowered this year, and how many would be coming back after the last. A new school year had begun, and he knew that this year was going to be an Interesting one, no matter how many Empowered were coming. He was going to make it interesting, although only he knew that. BLUR
Tyron made it to the school way before the bus had arrived and was stuck in the skies wondering where to land. "Maybe I should have just changed my feet into rockets to catch up with the bus, no then people would see me anyway. I wish I could change my entire body rather than just my limbs!" Tyron said aloud since no one was there. He dived down to a nearby building changing both his legs into that of an eagle so that it would look like he really was an eagle. "What a stupid idea..." He landed behind the building, very worried someone saw him, and changed his limbs back to normal. From there he took another path that would seem as if he wasn't the one who just fell from the sky behind a building. He eventually made it to the school. "I guess I'll just wait here 'til the bell rings."
CrystalCyae
"Wow.... That's quite a few powers." Azuki scooped the wrapping paper up when he mentioned it. "Kinda. My birthday was yesterday. Only just turned 14. This book was one of my "hidden" birthday presents; My mother seems to enjoy hiding presents in obvious places." She sighed. "I tell Mum quite often that I'm not a little kid anymore, but she never listens. She doesn't listen to me a lot of the time. Because I'm "strange". Not that I really care anyway." Magnet Soldier
"Hello. Tyron Vesh, Grade 9." Came a voice from behind Tyron. When Tyron turned around, there was Azuki, or Mister Shuni to the students. He smiled down at Tyron, having noticed the transformations. Mr Shuni's voice lowered, but he continued speaking. "Powers; Shapeshifting and Substance Mimicry. And I must say, you have an Amazing control over them. However, you're a bit conspicuous when you shapeshift. I saw it happen." Mr Shuni smiled again, turning around and looking back at the school. "I am Azuki Shuni, Mr Shuni to you, and I am a Maths teacher for everyone, and a Combat tutor for the Gifted. And you are early, so I expect you'll want to wait somewhere. Well tough, as the school building isn't open to students yet. However, you may make yourself comfortable anywhere in the grounds around it. Now run along, I'm welcoming the students that came to school the normal way." "Yep, it's quite a few. It can be a hinderance as often as it is an advantage. And I know what you mean by the distrust in the family. I'm a Mind reader, what do you think my mum does every day. Worry about if I'm reading her mind. I taught her how to protect it, but she still worries, which is why she never hides stuff from me. My dad.....well, i dont know about him. Haven't seen him since I moved from England." Lyle said, sighing. He shrugged and smiled. "Still, we get something good for the bad. Powers!" Lyle murmered, looking out of the window. "Seems we're nearly at school. This your first year?"
BLUR
Tyron turned around, startled by the Math teacher, who he now knew as Mr. Shuni. "Before you go, how the heck do you know all of that? I didn't even use my substance mimicry, how do you know I possess that ability?" Tyron asked. "This guy is definitely not your ordinary teacher...then again I'm not just an ordinary student so I guess this is fitting..." "Also, can you keep my powers a secret? I really don't want anyone to know what I am able to do. I guess that would ruin combat training, since I'm keeping my powers hidden and can't use them in public. But I have to keep them secret...it's a command from my parents," Tyron said smiling.
