Mehmani
Title & description, no? Discuss all things Jazz, Rag and Blues (not shitty modern R&B, but good old stuff like Lee Hooker) here. Post songs too please.
Death Metal
I'll go with the classic 'Maple Leaf Rag'. That song is legendary. xD I do enjoy Scott Joplin's music from time to time... but I never really got into any of these genres. So my knowledge is very minimal. Perhaps some recommendations?
If you like Ragtime composers like Joplin then your best bet is Jelly Roll Morton. He sort of links early Jazz and Ragtime together, and wrote many great pieces. Wolverine Blues, King Porter Stomp...he even did his own version of the Maple Leaf Rag. You could also go with some more Joplin as some of his pieces are great, but I warn you - a lot of them aren't as accessible as Maple Leaf and The Entertainer are. Seta
I don't really listen to much blues artists, but I like blues as in music, you know, all those fancy blues guitarists, pianists etc... And to just a random note, everyone in this thread, if they haven't seen it, should watch Blues Brothers.

I'm use to going to moderate length to get music. So at least I should be able to sniff out the great stuff without too much trouble. ;D
I can play 3 Davis pieces - So What, Freddie Freeloader and All Blues, including the Freddie Freeloader piano solo. Agreed, it is the best Jazz album ever. EDIT: Poc! Thanks for giving Dave Brubeck a mention. Calm Jazz is awesome.
