Hey guys, finally decided what I wanted to do for my first contest. I call it...

 

The RPC

 

[spoiler=Details]Pick a playable character from a RPG. You can select characters from any RPG, ranging from Fallout, Diablo, Legend of Legaia, Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy, The Elder Scrolls... even Pokemon will do. Hell, you can even come up with someone from a game I haven't even heard of... however, I won't accept it unless I can verify that the game actually IS an RPG, and the character you selected IS playable within that game.

 

You'll be working with that character throughout the competition, sort of like the Mugen Extravaganza that Serenity came up with earlier. You'll be given 4 rounds, each with their own tasks. They will then be judged, and the person with the highest score for each round will get a +1 Rep. Simple. Highest overall score gets 3 +1 Reps and 75% of the pot. Second highest overall gets the rest of the pot along with 2 +1 Reps. There will be no eliminations for low scoring cards. However, you will be eliminated if you don't turn your card(s) in within the set time limit and/or if you get three strikes.

 

Waitamunnit, I mentioned a pot? Oh yeah, should explain that. The entry fee equation is 10L, where L is your level. For example it costs 10 points for a Level 1 person to enter, 20 points for a Level 2 person, 30 points for a Level 3 person and so on and so forth. These will be added to a pot, which I'll start by adding 100 points to. Any donations to the pot will be appreciated as well. If I must cancel the competition for any reason, I will ask you all if you want your points back, and if you do, I'll be happy to give them back. Just make sure you say so first, or you'll be out of luck :P

One more thing: Break a YMC rule and you get a strike. Three strikes and you're out. So what do you say? You in?

 

 

[spoiler=Judging]There will be 4 judges for this competition, including myself. If you wish to judge AND you're a Level 3 or higher person (just to keep things legal), just say so here. You'll be given a task, which I'll send you via PM. If you successfully complete the task, you'll be accepted as a judge, and as a reward, you'll receive 50 points and a +1 Rep.

 

Judges will use the following criteria for judging contestants' cards:

 

Power: How much impact the card would have if it were to be thrown in the standard metagame. This criteria will be marked out of 4, but if a judge honestly thinks that the card is OPed, he or she can give a 5 for this criteria instead. If a contestant receives 5/4 for Power, he or she actually loses 5 points from the card's total score rather than gains 5 points.

 

Originality: How creative the contestant was in creating the card's effect. Marked out of 4

 

OCG: How effectively the card was worded according to the Official Card Grammar. Again, marked out of 4.

 

Realism: How well the card's effect fits the character in question. Just to keep things even, this'll be marked out of 3.

[spoiler=Contestants]Contestants will be added here as they apply. There's no minimum or maximum amount of contests, but after 96 hours (or after I get 3 judges, whichever comes later), applications will no longer be accepted. Right now its 10:26pm on the 1st of December.

[spoiler=Round 1 Task]Create your selected character as a LV Effect Monster Card. The level of this monster must be between 1 and 4, and the sum of its ATK and DEF cannot exceed 3000.

 

[spoiler=Round 2 Task]We all know characters level up in RPG's right? Right. So now make 2 more LV monster cards for your character. The sum of the ATK and DEF of the higher levelled of the 2 monsters must exceed 5000, and it must have a level higher than 8, just to keep things interesting. You have free reign over the lower levelled of the 2 monsters.

It's sad that Mugen never made it far :( Maybe this one will do better, I at least hope it does, and to show that I believe, I'll join ;) Points will be sent in due time.

 

My character will be Freya Crescent, Final Fantasy IX.
