Shinwa
Hi people, really often you see my posts in the pop culture mentioning the wrong way of writing names of anime charas. And that is what I hate... I mean : 黒崎 一護 ... That is called "Kurosaki Ichigo" and it is just wrong to write it like "Ichigo Kurosaki" .... Maybe many of you dont care about it but if you REALLY are an Anime Fan ... than please use the way of the first name after the last name. I just hate DUBS .... since everything in the Dubs is like "Ichigo Kurosaki".... that is not only hurting my ear much .... on the other side... kids learn this crap and keep saying "Ichigo Kurosaki" ... its like Saying the Sun is moving around the earth >.> ... Kids like to learn from TV and then they got this idea and WOOOAH ! Stupid.... So people, I hope you may help me .... please use it like this.... I am not mad or something I just dont like to read this WRONG way of cards.... that is why I mostly dont even look at cards which are like this .... What do you think ? Cin
Lately it seems Anime tend to stick to it only for those from the East. 5Ds commonly only puts on character Fudo Yusei eastern, whilst the others who may not be Japanese natives are done the Western way, for example Jack Atlus who is supposed to have been born in the same city (Different 'area'). Also you need to remember most of the people watch the dub so they won't put it the Eastern way.
Shinwa
Yeah I know that.... but I just say that I dislike the Western Dub Way .... I mean it sounds fluid and natural if you say "Uzumaki Naruto" ( THAT is what he is actually saying WITHOUT the Dubs ) ..... so that is what makes cards... I mean, Cards are first printed in Japan <- Japan got an Eastern Way .... so why dont leave it Eastern Way with Names ? Why do you people have to change the basics ? Cin
They don't watch the Japanese version, so they know the other way to be 'right'. Barely anyone seems to on this site. So this suggestion is rather pointless.
Legend Zero
I'm more used to the Eastern way now, but since I grew up with Western style it doesn't really bother me. =/ You can't really change the way people do things though...so you just have to live with it. Sweetie Belle
Well, I grew up with the dubs, but some names that weren't romanized didn't sound that great, and I switched them around and it sounded a lot better. Himura Kenshin (original) > Kenshin Himura (dub) And this was before I found out about the "Eastern way."
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
There is no "right" way, and there is no "wrong" way. There are only different ways from different cultures. An American person's name in Japan would be changed just the same as a Japanese person's in America. They just do thing differently. If you want to be very technical, because we are not making these cards in Japanese, it would be wrong to write them in the Japanese style. It's grammatically incorrect by the Western standard. Just like the reverse would be true in Japan.
Yasu
I've always used the eastern style ._. Even before watching Anime.

Atomic Nebula
Most people watch the Dub, so it is hard to convince a whole community to agreeing to something that isn't important. It's personal preference through and through.
Icy
... [Kurosaki] = Last Name [Ichigo] = First Name In Japan, it'd be correct as "Kurosaki Ichigo" because the last name comes first; this includes instances where you write it in Japanese. However, since you are not in Japan and are writing in English. You have to go by the English way, and that is [First Name] [Last Name], so his name would be "Ichigo Kurosaki". The only reason you do not right English Names in the same manner while in Japan or writing in Japanese is because they use Katakana for our names, a way of compensating for non-native words (Kenta feel free to correct me but this is the way I was taught). So you would be grammatically incorrect for spelling it in the Japanese Formal way. However that is not to say people who speak English do not write their names in the same manner, the situation is just drastically different when you do and I don't wanna go and explain THAT. So my response to you? "No."
Shinwa
@JoshIcy I only say that it sounds so wrong compared to the Originals ... I mean he is saying "Kurosaki Ichigo" and that is what you remember.... Yeah its personal prefences .... but in my opinion I dislike when someone write or say something wrong when in the Anime its normal... if like saying.... " American English and British English is the same .... both english" ... so it would be here " eastern way or western way .... it is both correct... just cards" ... I am happy if you use it in Realistic or Any Other Cards but for Pop Culture .... I want more Eastern Way Cards
Icy
So spell it that way, and do it that way. Just don't expect others to... I really don't get what you're asking.
Larxene
I demand that you add a fourth option to the poll stating that you're an idiot and that I'll make my cards however the hell I feel like making them.
DARKPLANT RISING
Let this suckish Japanese member here speak. When I came to America when I was 3, my name was "Kenta A?????" (privacy). I had no problem living like that, and I wrote my name as in "Kenta A?????" every time I was asked for it. ...So what? Big deal. I had my own name altered backwards and didn't feel anything wrong. You're feeling like that with other people who don't even exist. Overreactive. As much as your avatar is extremely badass, I disagree.
