Legendary Club Archive & Spam Club Deletion

Recommended Posts

The YCM House of Representatives/Senate would like a new archive to be put in place in the Clubs & Organizations area. The archive would include clubs that had great deals of members & topics within it that were widely discussed which grew that certain club(s) to be "Legendary". They had many posts, topic, members, etc.
We would also like for "Spam" clubs to be deleted. These are clubs that were unorganized and didn't get very far.
And by 'spammy' clubs I pretty much mean clubs that end up going severely off-topic and / or have no topic, just full of randomness.
For example, a Pokemon Based Club that never talks about Pokemon, and the random topic they are on would change in matters of a minute.
So clubs that pretty much are somewhat of an excuse to add a +1 to your current Post Count is what I mean by 'spammy'.

Personally I think it's a good idea but if you already have mod support why not just make the thread and have it stickied? There's really no need for this thread to be made.

Also, there's no point to delete the spam clubs if you really feel worried that they'll be necrobumped then just have a mod lock it, if it's already locked then there's no need to delete it.

I like the idea but wanted to see how big the demand is.

Also yes, I don't want to delete the "spam clubs that no one likes", I do delete a lot of single posts so the post count might drop a bit, but I rarely do it with clubs altogether. Unless they're unintentional double-posts or it's really a mass of pure 100% flaming.
Also, I don't want to go and put down a definition of "good" clubs and "crappy" clubs, and the ones that don't become huge or don't get far aren't necessarily bad ones... I don't know why it's put that way. The ones that have no organization in the first post get locked anyway though.

That's what we're trying to do, is get rid of those spamming clubs.

You can't "get rid of the bad clubs" and it's not your/our/YCM's role either. We can encourage people to make better clubs, help them out, but I won't delete anything just because it had bad luck, didn't become successful, but was otherwise just fine.=/ I WILL lock threads that have no club organization and I delete single posts as well. But no entire threads, just the single posts that are spammy + warning, and surely not threads just because they didn't get very far, it can have other reasons than spam like an unpopular topic or lack of activity. The only cases where clubs deserve to be deleted are when they contain porn or when they are double-posts.

And right now I can't think of any clubs on the first 2 pages that are downright 100% spammy and where it wouldn't be enough to delete the spam posts, warn people, or lock the ones that don't follow the rules as we've always done, but where the only way to deal with them would be to delete them altogether. The spammy club problem comes up regularly but right now I don't see much of it in the active clubs.

So what's up with the "spammy club deletion" thing and who/what kind of clubs do you mean exactly? Just asking...

He just put in a brief summary of it, along with the "Legendary Club Archive" idea.

I wasn't the one to make of the Legendary Club Archive idea. I don't remember doing so that is.
