I have written a fantasy story, "The Legacy of Blade"

I am currently editing it, so I will post only what I have edited so far.

Enjoy! :D

Torches lit the night sky. Goblins’ muddy boots trampled the innocent flowers on the fields. Equipped with torches and swords, fifty or so goblins marched to Blade Town. When they arrived they were met by the villagers who stood at the entrance, hoping to protect their families and home. The goblins laughed and charged at them. A battle erupted. The goblins may have outnumbered the humans, but the humans still put up a great fight. Botsaih led the villagers, giving them advice, telling them when to retreat, when to attack, when to defend. He was a natural leader. His son, Black also took part in the battle and was doing great. He took down three goblins before he died. A goblin snuck up behind and stabbed him through the chest. He dropped instantly; his father screaming and running over to him. A torch flew through the air and hit Botsaih, setting him in flames, killing him. The humans were lacking in numbers, houses were being burnt down; the town would be in ruins in less than twenty minutes. Blade watched from his window, watching in horror, in complete despair that he just saw his father and brother killed. He ran out of the house, his mother calling after him. He avoided all the humans, goblins, everything and ran right out of the town, into the woods, away from all danger.
Blade awoke on the soft grass somewhere in the woods. The tree leaves were dancing with the wind along the ground. Blade had a mind blowing headache. He got up, and started walking around. He had no idea where he was going, or where he even was. Blade had blonde hair that stretched down to his chin. He had baby-blue eyes, and a pale face. He wore a farmer’s shirt and trousers, and wore no shoes. After he walked about a mile, he saw a man wearing a hooded cloak. Blade then became very quiet, turned around, and began to walk to other way. He got about ten feet when he stepped on a leaf. The man quickly turned around at the sound of the crunched leaf and saw Blade. Before the man could react, Blade started running. The man began running after him, calling him to stop. Blade tripped over a rock hidden under the leaves and fell hard.
"Don't worry. I'm here to help." The man said as he held out a hand to help Blade up. Blade accepted and grabbed his hand. The man pulled Blade to his feet, and Blade saw the Arithia emblem on the armor the man was wearing under his cloak.
"Who are you?" Blade asked.
"My name is Zeke. I'm the head general of the army of Arithia. The queen of Arithia sent me to get you. It's urgent that you come with me." Zeke explained.
“Wait a second, why does the queen want me?” Blade asked, dumbfounded.
“I’ll explain everything on the way, but for now, please just come with me.” Zeke pleaded.
"Fine, but I’ll have to tell my-" Blade then looked down, just remembering his family was dead.
"I'm sorry. I saw what happened to your town, but don’t worry, because you’ll be living in the kingdom, you’ll have a new home." Zeke said.
"The k-k-kingdom?" Blade asked astonished.
"Yes. Now then, let us be on our way." Zeke said.
"Yeah!" Blade said cheerfully. Zeke then whistled, and then a beautiful white horse galloped to them.
"This is my horse. Get on." Zeke told Blade.
Blade hopped onto the back of the horse, held onto Zeke, and together they rode off. They passed many beautiful fields and forests. They didn't stop until they arrived at a small town fifteen miles away from Blade Town. They entered the nearby tavern, ordered some food and drink, and ate. Afterwards they stayed at the inn. Their room had two beds. The walls were made of polished wood; the floor had a velvet red carpet on it. Red curtains hung over the windows. Zeke and Blade woke early that morning, and set off.
"I guess now is a good time to tell you why your coming here. You see, there is an ancient tablet which with holds many prophecies. We call it the Ancient Prophet. Now one of the prophecies tells of a young boy that rises up after all hope is lost and saves Arithia from a great evil. Now you survived, you survived a massive killing, you’re a young boy, and all your hope is lost." Zeke explained.
"Well how did you know that my town would be destroyed and that I would survive?" Blade interrupted.
“We didn't. The prophecy had more detail, so we knew that it was someone in your town. Since you were the only one who survived, it must have been destiny; you’re the one who is destined to save us from a great evil!" Zeke explained.
“I barley know how to fight! How am I supposed to save anyone?" Blade asked.
"We'll train you! By the time anything bad happens, you'll be stronger than any knight in the kingdom!" Zeke said.
"Okay, let's hope so." Blade said, going back to sleep.
A couple weeks later, they finally arrived at the base of the mountains. Blade told Zeke of how he was afraid of going in there (goblins lived there), but Zeke told him they were going around them.
"I can't leave my horse behind, so we have no choice." Zeke had said to him as they arrived at the bend of the mountain range. After about a month of traveling, they were close to the Keyon Forest. They stopped, Zeke and Blade got off the horse.
"Why are we getting off?" Blade asked.
"He can find his own way home; I'm giving him a break. And besides, were about an hour away. Now let's go” Zeke explained. Zeke and Blade walked through the rest of the Keyon Forest. Zeke asked Blade if he was going to be okay living at the Kingdom of Arithia. Blade nodded. When they came out of the forest, Blade ran ahead in amazement as he looked at the kingdom.
“This is awesome!” Blade said.
“Yeah it’s something. Well let's go!” Zeke gestured. Blade nodded as he started running toward the kingdom. Finally! Zeke and Blade opened the giant doors of the kingdom. Guards came up to them, greeting Zeke on his return.
The inside of the main hall was spectacular. On the one side of the wall was a giant painting of a noble looking man. He wore a long blue cloak, and had black spiky hair.
"Who is this?" Blade asked Zeke.
"This is our former king, Renegade. He was murdered about 14 years ago. Now our land is being looked after by his oldest daughter, Sarah. His other two daughters are generals." Zeke explained. Blade then turned and noticed another painting the same size, but a different person. This one was older. He was an elf. He wore a brown cloak.
"Let me guess? This was the king before Renegade?" Blade asked.
"Ha! Nowhere near! This is a great elf who served a great deal of pain to save these lands. His name is Bokaih. Bokaih Zaimon." Zeke told him.
"Wait a second! His last name is Zaimon?" Blade said confused.
"Yeah! What's wrong?" Zeke said.
"My last name is Zaimon!" Blade screamed.
"Th-that can't be! Follow me, quickly!" Zeke said now looking very confused as he hustled up a large set of stairs. Blade struggled keeping up with him as Zeke stormed through many different corridors.
Finally they came to a stop at two big doors. The doors were red, with an outline of yellow. The doorknobs were gold, and smooth. As Zeke opened the door, Blade saw a beautiful women sitting in a throne.
"Well look who returned." Queen Sarah said. Blade was about to faint. He was in the presence of the queen of Arithia!
"It was a hard and long journey, but we made it." Zeke said. Two guards entered the room and took Blade out.
"They will take you to your room." Zeke said. Blade nodded and left.
"So it's really him." Sarah said.
"Yeah, when I arrived, his town was in ruin with dead bodies everywhere. He was unconscious and lucky to be alive. He has no family, and all he knows is how to farm." Zeke said.
"Well I guess you’re just going to have to train him." Sarah said.
"Yes, and before I leave, I must tell you something. His last name; I never asked him for it, but when I explained the picture of Bokaih to him, well he said his last name was Zaimon!" Zeke explained.
"Well then that would explain why he is mentioned in the Ancient Prophecy. He is a Zaimon; related to the legendary Bokaih Zaimon. Meaning he is the son of Ketsaih's son. I don't know his name, but because of him having the blood of a Zaimon, he will be remarkably strong. Is he an elemental?" Sarah asked after explaining to Zeke about his family.
"Not that I know of. He showed no signs. Maybe during our training he will show some signs." Zeke explained.
"Wait, the Ancient Prophet does specifically say a "Human," not an "Elemental."
"True. Well I better start his training now. General Ojia is back from his journey right?" Zeke asked.
"Yes." Sarah answered. Zeke nodded, bowed, and left the throne room, on his way to prepare Blade's training.
"Enjoying your room?" Zeke asked entering Blade's room.
"Yeah! It's amazing!" Blade screamed with joy.
"Well I'm glad you’re enjoying yourself, but now it's time for business. What I mean by that is that you didn't come here to just be a rich kid. You came here to be the Guardian of Arithia!" Zeke explained.
"I know but, I'm weak! I don't really know how to fight!" Blade yelled.
"And that's why you’re going to be trained for one year. After a year you will be above the level of a master swordsman, and will be the strongest in this country!" Zeke said. "Now find your way to the courtyard. Your training shall begin there."
After Blade left, Zeke left. Zeke went back down to the main entrance, but then off to a corridor leading into the first floor of the castle. On the side of a wall in one of the corridors, there was a door. Zeke put a key in the keyhole, and turned it. The door unlocked, Zeke entered and shut it behind him; locking it. He then descended far underground. He slipped on the decaying stairs a few times. He finally reached the bottom where another door was. He pulled out a different key, inserted it, turned, and entered the hallway. At the end of this hallway was another door, which needed another key. After Zeke went through that door, he was standing in a big room. In the middle of the room was a big stone tablet with encryptions on it. The language was in the Ancient Language. Zeke had studied this language for a couple of years, and had the basic idea of it. This tablet was the Ancient Prophet, but that wasn’t the reason he was down here. For beyond the Ancient Prophet, at the end of the room lay another door. Zeke pulled out another key and unlocked that door. When he closed it behind him, he turned to see a room double the size of the last, filled with nothing but bookshelves that were about twenty feet tall each. Each bookshelf was filled with books of records of Arithia. He found the section of citizen records, and followed the alphabetical organization till he reached “Z”.
“Ah! There it is!” Zeke said glad he found it so quickly. He pulled out a big book labeled “Zaimon.” He then sat down on the floor and opened the book. This book contained all the records of the “Zaimon” family. There were biographies, timelines, pictures, everything! Zeke was confused though. The last blood recorded in this book was, Bokaih.
“That’s odd. Why aren’t Yu-Shari, Ketsaih, and Zaiad in this?” Zeke wondered to himself. Zeke then heard footsteps coming from the room before this one. He quickly closed the book, hid it in his cloak, and hid in the darkness. The door to the room he was in opened, and in stepped a man in a black hooded cloak.
“Where is it?” The man said. Then Zeke saw another man enter, and he realized it was one of the guards!
“Honestly, I don’t know. Please let me go! I’ve never been down here! It’s forbidden!” The guard pleaded. The man slapped him in the face.
“Do I look like I’m interested in the rules? Find me the record book of the Zaimon family!” The man ordered. Zeke almost let out a squeal.
“Who is this man? What does he want with the Zaimon Family record book?” Zeke thought to himself. Zeke put his hand on his sword, ready to attack.
“The book! It isn’t here!” The guard explained.
“What do you mean it isn’t there?” The man said, getting angry.
“It should be right here, but it isn’t!” The guard said, getting very scared of what the man might do.
“I need that book!” The man yelled.
“Well you can’t have it! Because I do!” Zeke said, emerging from the darkness, book in hand. The guard then took this chance to run out of there.
“Who are you?” Zeke asked.
“That would be none of your concern. Now the book! Give it to me!” The man ordered.
“Why should I? I have no knowledge of who you are. How did you even get down here? I’m the only one with the keys.” Zeke asked.
“That’s simple. I burned the locks. Now give me the book!” The man ordered, getting really mad.
“Burned? Are you, an elemental?” Zeke asked.
“Enough questions! Die!” The man said as he shot blasts of fire out of his hands at, Zeke. Zeke dodged them, book the book on the ground, drew his sword, and charged at the man. The man drew a sword from under his cloak and blocked Zekes attack. They then began sword fighting, but the man was too good for, Zeke. The man knocked, Zeke on the ground and teleported to where the book was. He picked it up and teleported out of there, his last words were “Take good care of, Blade. Please.”
Blade ventured through the kingdom, looking for the courtyard. He asked guards, but he still got lost. Finally someone offered to walk him there. After about ten minutes they arrived.
"Thank you." Blade said as the guard left.
Blade stood in a big battle field. He was given a sword, nothing more. Blade didn't understand what he was supposed to do until a door opened. Out came a man riding a horse. He was equipped with two daggers, a long-sword, a bow, and about twenty arrows.
"So you’re the legendary warrior that is supposed to protect all of Arithia?" the man asked as his horse stopped.
"I guess, but who are you?" Blade responded.
"I am General Ojia. The best there is." Ojia said.
"So do we have to fight or something, because if we do, that wouldn't seem fair. I mean, you have all those weapons and a horse. I have a sword." Blade said.
"Is the legendary warrior scared?" Ojia taunted.
"That's it!" Blade shouted as he darted toward Ojia with his sword ready.
"Hahaha! You fool! Do you really want to die?" Ojia shouted back. Ojia drew his sword and had his horse start charging at Blade.
When the horse was in front of Blade, Blade spun around and jumped on the back of the horse and was behind Ojia. Blade went to stab him in the back, but Ojia turned around and blocked it.
"It's not going to be that easy." Ojia said as he pushed Blade off. Blade fell to the ground, and when he looked up an arrow was headed right for him. He rolled over, but the arrow had skimmed his right arm. Blade as fast as he could got up and started running toward Ojia. Blade blocked every arrow that flew at him with his sword, and when he got up to Ojia, Ojia jumped off his horse, but Blade was able to cut his arm.
Ojia and Blade then went into close combat with their swords. Blade was able to push Ojia back. Ojia lost his guard and got cut down the chest. Now on the ground, Ojia lay there, panting.
"Well, well, well. I guess you win." Ojia said as the guards came to get him. Blade had won, and his victory was the start of his training. He got much better with sword fighting and archery. He was trained in hand combat, and jumps fused with energy to make him jump higher. After a year his training was complete. He was strong enough to surpass Zeke, the head general. Blade was now the true Guardian of Arithia!
People respected him, and everywhere he went, everyone screamed his name and ran after him. He was now more popular then the queen.
As he was checking out the shops in the village right next to the castle, he saw everyone running somewhere, along with the guards. He followed to a circle of people. There were two guards beating up someone.
"Stop, stop! Blade shouted. The guards followed his orders and stepped back. Blade looked at the victim and saw he was a boy about the same age as, Blade. He turned to the guards.
“What’s going on here?” Blade asked one of the guards.
“My lord, this trash has just been caught robbing another store! This is about the eighth time he’s robbed a store.” The guard explained.
“What’s your name?” Blade asked the boy.
“What’s it to you?” The boy rudely remarked.
“I’m the Guardian of Arithia! You will talk to me with respect.” Blade said trying to keep his cool.
“You think you’re so bad don’t you?” The boy laughed.
“What?!” Blade drew his sword.
“You wanna fight, huh?!” Byockery hopped up on his feet. Blade was just expecting some punk, but he was wrong. Tangling in front of Byockery was a necklace. On the necklace was a charm. The charm was a Ying-Yang. Byockery grabbed the charm, then held his palm out and shot a dark energy ball at, Blade. Blade dodged it, wondering what the hell that was. Everyone had now run away screaming.
“What are you?” Blade asked.
“An elemental, what else?” Byockery said. Blade was confused. He had thought the elemental race had died out. Blade then refocused on the battle. He charged at Byockery and Byockery teleported far behind, Blade. Blade then teleported behind, Byockery and swung his sword, cutting Byockerys back. Byockery then jumped back, grabbed his charm, put both hands out in front of him, and shot a wave of dark energy at, Blade. Blade hopped right over it and fell back to the ground, landing on both feet.
“That necklace. What is it?” Blade asked.
“It was made for me. Made for me special. You see, I don’t ever share this with people. But you seem special. And you’re putting up a good fight, so, I’ll tell yah. Within me is a demon. A chaos demon. My teacher created this necklace for me, to hold the demon back from possessing me. But the downside is whenever I want to you my element of chaos; I must grasp the charm on my necklace, to absorb the power of the demon.” Byockery explained. “But when I need it, I can take the necklace off and let the demon take me over; giving me great strength, speed, and power” Byockery smiled. He then grabbed the charm, and pulled. The necklace snapped on his neck and came right off. He put the ripped string in his pants pocket. And within seconds, Byockery was surrounded in dark energy. His eyes turned pitch black, and then before Blade could react, Byockery had appeared in front of him and punched him so hard, Blade went flying back. Blade landed in a building; crashing through the wall.
“Ah, damn it!” Blade said getting up out of the rubble. Right when he stood up a chaos blast shot at him sending him flying yet again. Blade lost all feeling in his chest where he was hit. He didn’t know what was going on. When he landed he didn’t even know it. All he could feel was that he was standing up, but he knew he wasn’t. He was on the ground.
“Your first time getting hit with a chaos attack, huh? Hehehe. You see chaos energy makes you lose all feeling in your body, makes you feel like you’re in a whole different place. That’s why it’s such a great power.” Byockery laughed. Blade tried to get up, but couldn’t. He was too hurt.
“You’re not….the only one….with a demon….yah know?” Blade said struggling to get up.
“You’re telling me you have a demon? What element?” Byockery asked. Blade didn’t answer though. Instead he put his hands out in front of him, and then sand shot out of his hands at Byockery. Byockery blasted a wave of chaos to meet the sand. As the attacks collided, Blade jumped into the air, sand going all around him, and fired blasts of sand at Byockery. Byockery managed to dodge as many as he could but the sand was faster than his demon. Byockery got badly cut up. Blade then formed a sword out of sand and charged Byockery.
“Get back!” Byockery shouted. He then fired multiple blasts of chaos at Blade, but Blade dodged everyone and finally reached Byockery. He was so quick, Byockery had no time to block or dodge; Blade slashed his sand sword down Byockerys chest. Byockery fell to the floor, massively bleeding. Blades demon went back in him, and Blade smiled.
“Yes, I do think I’m tough.”
The guards brought Byockery to the nearby medical center to get him fixed up before putting him in prison. But Blade ended up hearing later that night that, Byockery had escaped while the nurses were in the other room. Blade decided to forget about it. It was getting late, and he needed to get back to the castle. He couldn’t spend all day in town. It was a long hike up the hill, but he managed to reach the base of the castle.
“How is your night going?” Blade asked one of the guards outside the castle gate.
“Very good. And you, My Lord?” The guard responded.
“Just fine.” Blade answered. The guards opened the gate, and Blade entered the courtyard. He walked the little distance, and then opened the door to the main hall of the castle.
He saw Zeke on the balcony. Zeke gestured for Blade to come here. Blade walked up the carpeted stairs leading to the second floor, and met Zeke. Zeke took Blade to Queen Sarah.
"A message was delivered today by a black cloaked man. It said "There will be war in three months time." The way it was translated seemed like a goblin wrote it. So I have a mission for you. You will go to Harh-Doom, the goblin country; Ask Nickerater if and why he is plotting war against Arithia." Sarah said as Blade entered the throne room.
"What! You want me to confront Nickerater? How do you suppose I even get to his tower, better yet to his throne room?" Blade asked.
"You figure it out. It's your job as guardian to protect us. You leave in an hour. It's a two month journey, so pack wisely." Sarah said. Blade didn’t dare argue with her, so he bowed, and left to pack for his two month journey. Zeke then turned the Queen Sarah.
“A black cloaked man you say?” Zeke asked.
“Yes, why?” Sarah asked.
“You see, earlier today, I was down in the records dungeons. I was looking at the Zaimon Family book, to see if Blade really is a Zaimon. Well first I noticed something odd. Bokaih was the last blood in the book. Then someone came in the room, it was a black cloaked man with his hood up. He had had a guard take him down. He told me he burned the locks on the doors. I wouldn’t give him the book, so he attacked me. We started to fight, but he beat me. He was a fire elemental, and he took the book! I am truly sorry, my queen.” Zeke said bowing.
“It’s alright, Zeke. I understand. But that book, that book holds the secrets of one of the most legendary family clan.” Sarah said, with worry in her voice.
“If this was the same man that delivered the message; Do you think he’s framing Harh’Doom?” Zeke asked.
“Well it couldn’t have been a goblin that delivered it. He was too tall. It was definitely a man. But maybe he was just the messenger.” Sarah suggested.
“A fire elemental that stole the Zaimon Family book who works for, Nickerater? Makes sense to me.” Zeke said.
“Well we’ve learned one thing from this so far; the race of elementals is truly returning. And I fear this return will not be pleasant at all.” Sarah said.
Blade was still wondering what he would do He thought about it the whole time while packing, and still hasn’t decided on a plan. He went to the stables to get a horse, and returned to the courtyard. Never in his life did he think this is how he would live. A poor farmer to a famous guardian. He was then off in a heartbeat. He rode for three days and two nights till he finally reached the bend of the mountain range which he had remembered passing only a year ago on his way to the castle with, Zeke. From then on it was just a trip up north, traveling in a straight line. He would ride all day, then eat and sleep at night at little camps he would make. Or if he were to pass by a village he would stay there the night. It had been two weeks when he stopped at a village called Lunarlight. This village was close to being a town, having at least a population of two-hundred people. All of Arithia had heard of a new guardian being inaugurated, so once he told them who he was, he was giving lots of food and a nice place to stay. While there Blade was told that this village was inhabited by the Lunar Clan.
“What’s the Lunar Clan?” Blade asked.
“The Lunar Clan is a group of people who used the energy of the moon to fight. They’re very strong and have been ruling this village for a long time. It’s name Lunarlight for they’re the ones who founded this village. Many people, including my parents, moved out to this village.” One of the villagers told, Blade. The villagers insisted Blade stay for a few days; even though he was on a mission, he thought a few days of relaxing wouldn’t hurt. But it was on his second day there when trouble came along. As Blade was walking down the main road of the village, three men in blue robes ran up to him.
“Go away! Leave here you demonic monster!” One of the three yelled. Everyone around stopped what they were doing immediately and looked to Blade.
“How dare you call our guardian a monster!” The villagers screamed.
“He is! I saw it with my own two eyes! Just a week ago, I was in Castle Town. And Blade fought with this man. He turned into a monster, sand pouring out of his body!” The blue robed man yelled. Everyone began gasping and whispering amongst themselves. The three men then put their hands up in the air, and blue energy began to surround them.
“They’re absorbing energy from the moon!” The villagers said running for cover. The three men then put their hands in front of them; the blue energy flowing around them formed into a ball in front of their hands, and the three energy balls shot at Blade. He quickly dodged them; running up to them he swung his blade, trying to end the fight quickly, but all three of them were quick. They teleported into the sky; shooting more energy blasts at, Blade.
“Stop! Leave the guardian alone!” Many of the villagers screamed at the Lunar Clan members.
“Guardian? I told you already! He’s a demon!” The one member screamed back.
“Stop this, this instant!” A voice boomed over the crowd of people. Another Lunar Clan member came walking up to the other three.
“Leader!” The three screamed, growing scared.
“We were jus-“
“Enough! I don’t need your explanations, Reina.” The leader interrupted. Reina bowed, followed by the other two.
“Sorry, leader.” Reina and the other two said.
“Return to the base immediately.” The leader boomed. Reina and the other two ran away as fast as they could. The leader then turned to, Blade.
“I’m sorry, Lord Blade. But is what they speak true?” The leader asked.
“I was born with a demon inside of me. I can control it and use its powers to my advantages. But I’m not a demon.” Blade explained.
“Yes, I understand. If only those thick-heads would listen for once. I am truly sorry for all this commotion.” The leader said.
“It’s fine.” Blade assured.
“Why don’t you come back to our base with me? You can stay there for the rest of your stay.” The leader asked.
“Sure, that’ll work.” Blade smiled, following the leader back to their base. The building was very tall. It was almost like a tower watching over the town. The inside was the same as all the other buildings in this town. After being inside the castle of Arithia for so long, nothing seemed beautiful anymore. Once they were on the top floor, the leader showed Blade the room he would be staying in.
“I’m sorry, but I’ll have to be leaving tomorrow. I wasn’t even supposed to stay here, you see, I’m on a mission right now.” Blade explained.
“Yes, well. You can leave tomorrow if you like.” The leader said leaving Blade to his room. Once he closed the door, the leader smiled.
“The only place you’re going to tomorrow is, Spirit World.” The leader muttered under his breath, laughing as he walked down the hall to his room.
When Blade awoke, he was freezing cold. Wind was swaying his hair back and forth. He opened his eyes, and gasped. He was on the roof of the Lunar Clans base!
“Stay right where you are, guardian.” The familiar voice of the leader said. Blade turned around, confused.
“What’s going on?” Blade asked. The leader smiled.
“I’m going to have all of Lunarlight witness your execution! Witness the justice that I have so sought for twenty years!” The leader’s voice echoed through the morning sky. Blades eyes widened.
“What are you talking about!?” Blade screamed.
“I guess you deserve to know what you’ve been serving for the past year, and exactly why you’re going to die. You see, it all started about twenty years ago; Year 427 of the twentieth age. This village had just started to start growing in size. My father was the current leader of the Lunar Clan, and looked after this village. He always wanted nothing but to make the people of his clan and village happy. I was only a child, so I looked up to him. But things started going bad. As the village began doing well, many settlers moved here. And pretty soon, about three fourths of the village was populated by settlers. The village would have ended up being dominated by the settlers, and the Lunar Clan would be forced to move somewhere else. My father saw it best to not allow any more residents. But still things were not looking too good. With all these settlers, that would mean the resources would deplete faster. We needed more land! That small, over populated village wasn’t big enough! My father tried talking to the king about it having Arithia give us land, but we were always denied. So one day I snuck out of the village, and traveled alone to the castle of Arithia where I confronted the king about this situation. I screamed at him; explained to him that we needed more land or things would get ugly. My father had left shortly after me trying to catch up, so he made it to the castle to stop me. I wouldn’t listen to him, so I pulled a dagger out and charged at the king. My father managed to stop me, and begged the king for forgiveness, saying I was only a child. The king wouldn’t listen though. He said that I tried to kill him, so I must be executed. My father wouldn’t allow that, so he told the king he would be executed in place of me. I pleaded him not to, but he wouldn’t listen. So the king killed him, right there in front of me; I was taken back to Lunarlight, and once I turned eighteen, I took my father’s place as leader of the Lunar Clan. That was ten years ago. Now, even to this day I haven’t forgiven that evil king for what he did! The whole kingdom of Arithia is evil! And if anyone protects the kingdom, then they too are evil!” The leader explained, now crying.
“That was twenty years ago! There’s a new ruler of Arithia! A knew kingdom!” Blade tried explaining.
“No! You’re wrong! Arithia is evil! And you’re going to die along with everyone in that damned castle!” The leader screamed as he charged up an energy ball.
“Don’t do this!” Blade screamed, trying to stop the leader.
“I won’t let Arithia go unpunished for this!” The leader screamed as he shot the energy blast at Blade. A black cloaked man then appeared and jumped in front of the blast.
“What the hell!” Blade said wondering what just happened.
“Who are you?” The leader asked as the black cloaked man appeared from the smoke of the blast, unharmed. The man drew a sword, and in a flash of the eye appeared in front of the leader and cut him. The leader fell to his knees, defeated in a second. His cut then caught fire. The flames grew and soon engulfed his whole body. The leader fell to the floor, his body burning away. The man then stuck his sword in the roof of the building. The whole roof then became cracked, and flames arose from those cracks, and the whole building was on fire. The man then grabbed, Blade and teleported him down to ground level. People rushed from their homes to watch as the building began crumbling in a fiery crash. Smoke filled the surrounding areas, and when it cleared, only ruins remained of the once, Lunar Clan tower. Blade stared in astonishment at the strength of this man. The man then turned to Blade. The hood covered his face, so Blade was just staring into the darkness of his covered face.
“I’m guessing your belongings were in there?” The man asked.
“Uh, yeah, they were.” Blade answered.
“Very well, have this.” The man said handing, Blade a map. Blade looked at the map and saw that there was a line drawn leading right to Nickerater’s tower – “That line is a course you should follow.”
“Oh, thank you.” Blade said. He didn’t know if he could trust this course, but then again, the man had just saved his life.
“I must leave now. We will meet again in, Harh’Doom, so please, hold your questions.” The man said, then he was gone, before, Blade even had a chance to reply. Blade didn’t want to spend one more second in this village, so found his horse, and was off. He didn’t even bother saying ‘Bye’ to anyone. It was a cold night; Blade hated traveling at night for this exact reason. He couldn’t afford to delay any more time after his little experience in Lunarlight. He only camped when absolutely necessary. It had been one week when he saw a town. He didn’t want to waste time going around it, so he would just pass, and not stay. The town seemed pretty abandoned and, Blade didn’t see many people. He heard shouting coming from the East. Blade traveled down the east and saw a big river. Blades eyes widened when he saw many people down there.
“What’s going on?”
He started going in that direction when he realized that there was a battle going on! Buildings were on fire, people were being slaughtered. Blade then quickly rode down there. As he got close, and the people saw him, many of them began cheering.
“The guardian is here! We’re saved!” They shouted. The others that were not cheering retreated to the river, go in boats, and swam away. The people ran up to, Blade.
“Guardian, we’re honored. I thought the castle hadn’t gotten our message, but I guess I was wrong. My name is, Askar. I am the leader of this town. For about three weeks now, the town across the river, Whitefoot, has been trying to take over our town. They want to expand and become their own country. Our town is the closest, so they decided to start by taking us over, but we’ve been fighting back, and are not going to allow that! Many times have we tried sending word to the castle about this, but Whitefoot has always killed the messengers’ before they made it far from town.” Askar explained.
“Well, I’m sorry, but I’m on an important mission issued by the queen.” Blade explained.
“Please, guardian. We won’t be able to hold any longer! Too many lives have already been lost!” Askar screamed.
“I’m sorry, truly I am, but – “Why don’t you act like a guardian and guard us! Protect us!” Askar interrupted. This had really ticked, Blade off, but in a way, Askar was right.
“I’ll help.” Blade said with determination in his eyes. All of the people then cheered. Hope had come to them. Blade wondered if the man had sent him this way for this exact reason, to help these people. Whatever the reason, Blade knew his duty was to protect the people of Arithia. Askar explained to, Blade how all their ships were destroyed in battles on the rivers, so they now could only defend. Blade understood and rode down to the shore.
“Listen up! Those men of Whitefoot, they no longer belong to the Kingdom of Arithia. So by you killing them is not an act of treason against our kingdom, but an act of protecting it. You will all stand your ground here! I will lead you to victory. If they break our defenses on the shore, then the rest of your men will be waiting in the town, hiding.” Blade told them. They all nodded, and seemed much happier that they had a true military leader to aid them. There was no action that day. Blade and the rest of them were very tired, and just figured Whitefoot was planning what to do about, Blade. But even if it took a week, Blade wasn’t going to have anyone leave their post. Everyone took turns sleeping, while the others took watch over the river.
It was early the next morning when Whitefoots’ ships were spotted on the river.
“Prepare for battle! Prepare for battle!” Blade ordered. All the men began setting up more barricades, and reinforcing already set ones. They lined up many cannons all along the shore with boxes of cannon balls next to each one.
“We will knock those damned ships to the floor of the river! And if they make it to the shore, they will never survive are volley of arrows we’ll shoot at them!” Blade repeated over and over. As the ships drew closer, Blade swung down his sword, and the cannons began firing. Most of them missed, but there were a good number that hit. After the third time firing them all off, two out of the fifteen ships had sunk. The cheers from the men were growing louder.
“Focus men! We cannot celebrate till the battle has been won!” Blade said. The ships were getting closer, so, Blade ordered the men to fire at will. Cannons were being fired at all different times. Some faster, some slower. Three more ships had sunk, but ten still remained. They were now so close they could see the men aboard very clearly. They thought taking the ships out would be easy now, but arrows began shooting from bows on board of the ships and were hitting the armor-less men.
“Don’t bother aiming! Just duck and fire!” Blade ordered. Doing this most of them missed, and only one more ship had sunk. The ships then docked, and out came the men of Whitefoot.
“Ready! Ready! Fire!” Blade ordered. The men then shot many arrows at the oncoming attackers. They all dropped into the shore. None of them were surviving. Things were starting to turn out well until they heard screams coming from the town.
“They had sent half their army across the river further down where we wouldn’t see to sneak attack us!” Blade thought, still trying to fight off the oncoming attackers. All of the Whitefoot men that had came on boat were now all dead, and Blade needed to help the men in the town.
“They had sent two armies across the river! One here and one further down! They planned to sneak attack us and it worked! We’ve finished the fight on the shore; now let’s finish the fight in town!” Blade screamed as he rode ahead, followed by the enraged men. The men were holding off good, and now that Blade had arrived with the rest of the men, victory was insured. They fought long and hard, and by the end of the night, Whitefoot was defeated. After Blade had arrived, not many of the townspeople had died, which was a good thing. They sent a message to the castle, alerted the queen of what had happened, and asked for many soldiers to come down, and occupy, Whitefoot so something like this doesn’t occur again.
“Thank you, Blade. We would have never been able to win without you.” Askar any and everyone else said, bowing to him.
“It’s fine. This is my job.” Blade smiled. Blade then left; following the map that man had given him.
“From here it should be a good three days till I reach Harh’Doom.” Bladed thought.
Three days passed quickly, and finally, Blade had made it. There, standing in front of him; a twenty foot high wall stretched across the whole border. The top of the wall had goblins patrolling on the top. It was six feet going vertically. Every half-mile there was a tower that rose about ten feet above the top of the wall. In between those towers were gates that slid over to open. It had boxes with supplies on the walkways. Blade rode up to the nearest gate.
"What do you want boy?" a goblin shouted down.
"I have a message from Queen Sara of the Kingdom of Arithia to be given to Nickerater!" Blade stated.
“We will alert Nickerater of your arrival." The goblin said as the gate doors opened. Blade then quickly took off before they changed their minds. He didn't seem it would be this easy, but now he had to go to Nickerater. He had never been in Harh’Doom before. He didn’t even know where the tower was. Thankfully that man had given him this map. It was two weeks of traveling when Blade arrived at a steel wall. He had figured this was the protection for Nickerater’s tower, but Blade saw no tower. There was a large gate where he stood, but no one around.
“Hello?” Blade shouted as loud as he could. No answer. Blade then heard a noise. The gate was opening. Once it was open, Blade rode in. It quickly shut behind him. There was a whole city in here, and a big castle at the end. The whole city was surrounded by this wall. Blade didn’t think this was Nickerater’s castle, for Nickerater lived in a tower. Then the man in the black cloak walked up to, Blade.
“I see you made it in one piece?” The man asked.
“Yes, I have. What is this place?” Blade asked, looking around.
“This, my friend, is the Dragon Lands!” The man said; his arms stretched out before him.
“The Dragon Lands?” Blade asked.
“Yes, this is the Dragon Lands. Home to the people of the dragons.” The man explained.
“Who are the people of the dragons?” Blade asked.
“You see, those with dragon blood in them, can awaken their inner dragon. That gives them the powers of a dragon. You, Blade, have dragon blood within you.” The man explained.
“And how would you know?” Blade asked.
“Because I have dragon blood in me, and I, Blade, am your grandfather.” The man said, removing his hood, revealing his semi-long red hair, and elf ears.
“No, my grandfather died a long time ago!” Blade explained.
“No, Blade. That is what your father told you, for he didn’t know where I was.” The man explained.
“If you’re my grandfather, then you must be – “Ketsaih!” He interrupted. Blade was confused.
“Prove that you’re my grandfather!” Blade ordered.
“Very well. Your father’s name is, Botsaih. He was born in this age, in the year 412. He married, Flare, and had four children.” Ketsaih explained.
“You are my grandfather!” Blade said with shock.
“Yes, and I gave that map to you purposely, so you would find your way here. Blade, I’m going to awaken your inner dragon.” Ketsaih told him.
“Exactly how are you going to do this?” Blade asked. But Ketsaih did not answer. Before Blade had the chance to ask again, the energy in him surged; started to pump really fast. He felt an awkward, unfamiliar power rising in him. His soul was burning with the passion of flames. He felt wings expand outward on his heart; the scales of a beast hardening his spirit. His blood boiled, and his bones ached. His eyes turned crimson red, and flames then erupted from inside him and surrounded him in a ball of fire. It span at high speeds, and what was going on inside that ball was a remarkable transformation. The ball slowed down, the flames lost their balance, and scattered. After the flames had burned away, Blade stood there, not moving. But this wasn’t Blade no more. For where, Blade stood, was a beast. All of Blade’s body was covered in a green, dragon-scale armor. On his head was a green helmet made of dragon scales as well. Two little wings extended back on the back of the helmet. And in the front was a long beak that hid Blade’s face. On his back, two wings stretched outward. His inner dragon was awakened.
“So Blade. How do you like your dragon form?” Ketsaih asked with a smile.
“It’s awesome! I feel so much stronger!” Blade explained.
“Yes, well, you are now. Let me explain. Now that your inner dragon is awakened, you can access a dragon form, what you’re in now. It will give you great, tremendous power, making you just like the dragon in your soul.” Ketsaih explained.
“Wow, this, this is great! Now I don’t feel so scared to confront, Nickerater.” Blade said.
“Yes, well. I would like for you to stay here for a couple days. Don’t worry; it won’t be like your experience at, Lunarlight.” Ketsaih said with a smile.
“Sure. Do you think I could train with this dragon form while I’m here?” Blade asked.
“Of course you can! This place is full of inner dragon trainers. C’mon we’ll go find you one now so you can get started. Oh and to exit your dragon form, simply have all your energy go into your soul, you’ll then leave it, then put your energy back through your body.” Ketsaih explained. He then began walking away. Blade did as instructed, and it worked. He was now back to normal. Filled with excitement, Blade hurried after him.
There were buildings everywhere. It was a city full of Dracomancers (what people with their inner dragon awakened are called). People greeted Ketsaih as he passed them, just like people greeted, Blade back in Arithia. After turning down many streets, they were in a part of the city known as the Village (A low-populated, laid back area). They walked through the city for about forty minutes, then in the Village for about twenty minutes till Ketsaih stopped at a house. He knocked twice, and then walked in; Blade followed. They stood there for a few second when someone came running up to them. He was about the same height as, Blade. He had short, black hair, with jade-green eyes. He wore a black cloak, just like Ketsaih.
“Lord, Ketsaih,” He bowed; then stood back up. “What are you doing here?” He asked, eyeing Blade curiously.
“This is my grandson, Blade. I just have awoken his inner dragon, and he needs training. I’m sure you won’t mind training him, Geori.” Ketsaih answered.
“Of course, my lord! We’ll start right now. Blade, come with me.” Geori said as he walked down a hall.
“Good luck.” Ketsaih said. He then disappeared, and Blade went down the hall Geori did. At the end there was a turn that Blade took. Only a few feet away were a door. Blade opened it and entered the dark room. It then lit up from the lights of the flames soaring across the ground and sky. The temperatures rose quickly to boiling levels. The room was enormously large. It was nothing but an empty room, perfect for training. At the end of the room stood, Geori.
“Enter your dragon form.” Geori commanded. Blade did as he was told. “Good.” Geori responded. He then drew his sword and teleported. He appeared right in front of, Blade almost instantly. He slashed his sword down and Blade blocked. Blade pushed his sword up, throwing Geori back. This was the start of their week-long training. By the time it was over, Blade could barely move; he was so exhausted and sore. But at the same time, he was stronger. He was now familiar with his dragon form and was well trained. Geori took Blade to the castle at the end of the city to meet Ketsaih.
“Ah, Blade how was your training?” Ketsaih asked.
“Hard and tiring.” Blade said.
“Yes, well life isn’t easy. But anyways, how much longer will you be staying?” Ketsaih asked.
“I was actually planning on leaving now. I have to finish this mission and return a.s.a.p.” Blade stated.
“Alright. It was nice seeing you.” Ketsaih said.
“Yeah, you too. Oh and I was just wondering. This map shows us real close to Nickeraters Tower, but I can’t see it.” Blade said sounding confused.
“Oh, his tower is right there.” Ketsaih said pointing.
“Then how come I can’t see it?” Blade asked.
“It surrounded in darkness, hidden in the shadows.” Ketsaih answered. And that was that. Ketsaih took Blade to the gate, and they said their goodbyes. Blade was then off, galloping along the wall, on his way to confront Nickerater.
Blade felt as if he had been traveling for forever. But as he drew nearer to the immeasurable tower, he could make out its shape. Two guards stood at attention at the main entrance. They stood aside to let him in.
“I guess those goblins at the gate really did alert Nickerater.” Blade said to himself. He entered the tower and all the goblins turned their heads towards him, stared for a few seconds, and then continued what they were doing. Blade found the main stairwell and began climbing. Finally he reached the top corridor. At the end were two big doors. He knocked twice, and then entered.
“What’s this? The Guardian of Arithia, here? And what is it that brings you?” Nickerater asked.
“We wanted to know if you were planning on going to war with us." Blade answered.
“Planning? I’ve already planned, and goblins are already marching to the castle now.” Nickerater said.
“What! Why? What did we ever do to you?" Blade asked.
“You apparently didn’t pay attention in school. You humans started a rebellion against me! In the end my soul was split in two. Now I’m going to have my revenge, and the first country to fall will be, Arithia!” Nickerater said now standing up from his throne.
“Very well.” Blade said now walking away.
“The guardian shall be the first from Arithia to die!" Nickerater screamed shooting a blast of energy from his hand at Blade. When it hit Blade, Blade went flying through the corridor and smashed into the wall at the end. Nickerater walked up to him and charged another blast.
Nickerater just laughed. Blade was badly injured. He could barely move. This was the end. Or so Blade thought. For from the throne room, he heard a voice.
“Chaos Demise!" A familiar voice screamed as a man charged at Nickerater. His whole right arm was covered in black energy. His hand was in a fist, and when he reached Nickerater he punched him. The power was so strong his fist cut right through Nickerater. Byockery pulled his arm of Nickerater and smiled.
“You littl-" Nickerater couldn't continue for he dropped to the ground, dead.
“A very strong attack, that even you, Nickerater, cannot live through.” The voice said. Blade looked up, and saw that the man who just killed, Nickerater was, Byockery! But before, Blade could say anything, he passed out.
Blade woke in a bright room. The sun was blaring through the window. He couldn't remember a thing or where he was. As he lay there, trying to recollect his thoughts, Zeke walked into the room.
“How are you doing?" He asked.
“Just, fine." Blade answered as he got up.
“Well in that case, let’s go into the main hall and see what's happening. There's big commotion." Zeke said.
“Wait! How long have I been sleeping?” Blade asked.
“About a week.” Zeke answered.
“A week!” Blade said, astonished.
“Yeah, you had really bad injuries, but the doctors fixed you all up. Now let’s go!” Zeke said walking out of the room.
Zeke and Blade went down to the main hall. There were lots of guards and townsfolk.
“What’s happening?" Zeke asked a guard.
“We spotted Comolaney warriors being lead by their king.” The guard answered.
“How far were they when spotted?” Zeke asked.
“Only a few days.” The guard said. Just then the two guards that guarded the outside came running in.
“We see them!” They shouted. Everyone went quiet, a few people started to walk away into some hallways, in case a fight was to break out. Queen Sara then arrived at the top floor, looking down upon them all.
“Any townsfolk or visitors, please come upstairs. All soldiers stay where you are, and keep your eyes on those doors.” She ordered. The doors to the castle then burst open. Ten heavily armored soldiers stepped in. Each wielded a long spear and a big, square shield. The symbol of Comaloney shone brightly on their armor. They were in two rows, each with five warriors in each row. The two rows split apart, making room for someone to walk through. Then the king entered, walking slowly past his warrior, stopping once he reached the front. He wore a long, red cloak, which hid his sword. A gold crown rested on the top of his head.
“Why are you here?!" Blade shouted, breaking the silence.
“And who are you?" the king said.
“I am the Guardian of Arithia! Blade Zaimon!" Blade answered proudly.
“Zaimon? You're the legendary guardian I heard of? Ha!" The king said.
“I am. Now why are you here?" Blade asked.
“None of your business." He answered.
“I’m the guardian! I asked you a question and I expect a greater response other than ‘none of your business.’ Blade said in a harsh tone.
“Who do you think you are, getting loud with me?” The king asked. Blade then drew his sword and charged at, the king. He went to cut him, but the king had blocked with his sword.
“When did he draw his sword?!” Blade thought to himself. The king then pushed back, throwing Blade.
“How about this, you and I have a battle. If you win, I'll leave. If I win, I stay as long as I want." the king offered.
“Fine." Blade agreed.
“We will fight in that field down there, tonight Or no, how about now?” The king asked.
“Sure, right now!” Blade said.
“Very well, let’s go.” The king said as he turned and left the castle, followed by his soldiers. Blade then followed the solders. Zeke and Queen Sara both prayed that, Blade would be alright.
Blade and the king stood face to face ready to battle.
“Now before we fight I need to know one thing." Blade said.
“And what would that be?" the king asked.
“What is your name?" Blade asked.
“Taquan." he answered. Then a bolt of lightning went right through Blade’s left shoulder.
“Ah!" Blade screamed as he put his hand over his shoulder to stop the bleeding. Taquan then began shooting tons of bolts of lightning at Blade. He was barely able to dodge for they were light speed. Taquan then rushed at Blade and punched him. Blade flew into the sky, and as he was falling, Taquan teleported under him and kicked him in the stomach to keep him in the air.
Taquan then let Blade fall to the ground. Blade went down with a crash. Bleeding all over his body, he was in no condition to fight. He struggled to get on his knees but still failed.
“You made a big mistake challenging me. Your just a human, when I am an, Elemental!” TaQuan stated. Blade didn’t answer, still laying on the ground.
“You’re not dead. So stop pretending and get up.” Taquan said. Blade still made no sound. Taquan started to slowly walk towards him. When he reached him, his eyes widened. Sand was coming out of Blades shirt sleeve. Taquan was so confused. He was about to say something, but a blast of sand threw him back. Blade now got up. He had sand all over him and coming out of his sleeves and pant legs. His eyes were bright yellow.
“What is this?" Taquan asked.
“It is your death." Blade answered. Blade continuously blasted sand at Taquan. Taquan dodged a lot, but still was often hit. He teleported behind Blade and went to hit him, but a wall of sand blocked it. Blade turned around and blasted Taquan back.
“Where did you get this power, Blade?” Taquan asked.
“.....Who is Blade?” Blade asked.
“What are you talking about?” Taquan asked confused.
“Blade has left for the time being. For now, I’ll be the host. Now stop the chattering and let’s continue this fight! Anyone who harms my body, dies! Blade answered.
“Wh-what??! Who are you??” Taquan asked confused.
“The.....Dead.....One." The Dead One answered. The Dead One then started continuously punching and kicking Taquan. Now he couldn't block anything. The Dead One was too fast, too strong. Taquan knew he was going to have to a certain technique to finish this. Taquan jumped to the ground, and The Dead One followed. Now The Dead One and Taquan were about ten feet from each other. Blade’s body was completely covered in hardened sand, his yellow eyes glowing brightly. The Dead One started to form a giant ball of sand, with spikes of sand on the outside.
“This is the end.” The Dead One said.
“Funny. I was just about to say the same thing.” Taquan smiling. The Dead One fired the ball at, Taquan..
“Lighting Blast Final Impact!” Taquan shouted. A giant ball of lighting shot out of Taquan’s palms. It went engulfed the ball of sand, and Blade’s body. After it resided, Blade lay on the ground, unconscious.
