Nephets Posted November 23, 2010 Report Share Posted November 23, 2010 The purpose of the Grimoire Arechtype is to swarm the field with many low level effect monsters, while simultaneously activating effects to damage your opponent in a variety of circumstances, and finally, through Synchro Summon and Fusion Summon, OTK. Grimoire Monsters are not able to fully OTK on the first turn, and require two to three turns in order to play the finishing move, the cards are meant to be very flexible to any situation, and their weakness is in Negation Effects, and in their potential weakness to OTK's in turn. All Grimoire Monsters are similar in that each one, when summoned, can gain a different effect based on a cost chosen by the summoner. All Grimoire Monsters (with the exception of Synchro and Fusion monsters) have 0 atk and 0 def Card Listing Monsters: Althaia Grimoire Archetect DARK fiend-type LV 4 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 500 Lifepoints to Destroy one spell or trap card on the field. Tribute this card to return one level four or lower monster on the field to the owners hand. Discard one card to randomly select one card in your opponents hand and discard it. Remove from play one monster in your graveyard to inflict 500 damage to your opponents lifepoints. Arachne Grimoire Watchguard DARK Insect-type lv 2 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 500 Lifepoints to change the battle position of one monster on the field. Tribute this card and one other "Grimoire" monster you control to remove one monster on the field from play. Discard one card to return this card to your hand, your opponent cannot activate counter traps this turn. Remove from play this card on the field, select one of your opponents monsters, it cannot attack as long as it remains face-up. Belladonna Grimoire Princess DARK Fairy-type Lv 3 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 700 lifepoints to reduce the attack of one monster on the field by 700. Tribute two "Grimoire" monster you control to special summon one level 4 or lower "Grimoire" monster from your graveyard. Discard 1 spell card to move one spell card from your graveyard to your hand. Remove from play one spell card in your opponents graveyard to Equip one Equip card on the field to a different target. Bran Grimoire Offender DARK Warrior-type Lv 4 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 1000 lifepoints to return two monsters on the field, except for Synchro monsters, to the owners hand. Tribute this card and One "Jax, Grimoire Defender" to special summon one level 5 or higher "Grimoire" Monster from your graveyard. Discard 1 trap card to reveal one spell or trap card on the field. Remove from play one "Jax, Grimoire Defender" In your graveyard to remove from play one level 3 monster in your opponents graveyard. Jax Grimoire Defender DARK Spellcaster-type Lv 4 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 1000 Lifepoints to return one Synchro monster on the field to the owners Extra Deck Tribute this card and one "Bran Grimoire Offender" to special summon one level 5 or lower "Grimoir" Monster from your graveyard. Discard 1 monster card to reveal on set monster on the field. Remove from play one "Bran Grimoire Offender" in your graveyard to remove from play one level 4 mosnter in your opponents graveyard. Crow Grimoire Messenger. Dark Winged-Beast-type Lv2 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 300 lifepoints to take control of one opponents monster until the battle phase, this effect cannot be activated in main phase 2. Tribute this card to special summon 2 "Crow Grimoire Messenger" from your deck, hand, or graveyard. Discard one card to destroy one spell or trap card on the field. Remove from play one "Crow Grimoire Messenger" in your graveyard to destroy one monster on the field. Damian Grimoire Tuner Dark Fairy-type Lv1 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay lifepoints in multiples of 100 to increase this monster level by one for every 100 lifepoints. Tribute one "Grimoire" monster to special summon from the graveyard one "Grimoire" monster with a level 1 higher or lower than the tributed monster. Discard one spell card and one trap card to special summon two level 4 or lower "Grimoire" monsters from your graveyard. Remove from play 2 "Grimoire" monsters in your graveyard to special summon a synchro monster from your graveyard whose level is equal to the combined levels of the removed monsters. Draco Grimoire Striker Dark Reptile-type Lv2 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 500 lifepoints to destroy one monster on the field. Tribute one "Grimoire" monster to special summon one "Grimoire" monster with the same name from your deck. Discard one "Grumoire" mosnter to return to your hand one "Grimoire" monster with the same attribute from your graveyard. Remove from play one face-down monster your opponent controlls, you cannot conduct a synchro summon this turn. Echo Grimoire Blaster Dark Machine-type lv1 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 100 lifepoints to inflict 200 lifepoint damage to your opponent. Tribute this monster to discard two cards from your opponents hand, at random. Discard one card to remove the top card of your opponents deck from play. Remove from play all monsters in your graveyard to return all monster previously removed from play to your graveyard. Jet Grimoire Beater Dark Beast-type Lvl 5 Effect When this card is summoned to your side of the field, you may activate one of the following effects. Pay 1000 lifepoints to destroy all face-up monsters your opponent controls, they return to the field in the same battle position at the end phase. Tribute all other level 4 or lower "Grimoire" monsters you control, this monsters level is equal to the number of cards tributed. Discard one tuner monster, this card is treated as a tuner monster. Remove from play this card to return two spell cards in your graveyard to your hand. Spell and Trap Grimoire Pages Normal Spell When this card is activated, you may activate one of the following effects. For Every "Grimoire" Monster in your graveyard, increase your lifepoints by 200. For every "Grimoire" monster on your side of the field, inflict 200 damage to your opponent. For every Synchro monster on the field, increase your lifepoints by 500. Special summon one "Grimoire" monster from your hand. Grimoire Quill Equip Spell When this card is activated, you may activate one of the following effects. A face-up Grimoire Monster equipped with this card may activate another one of it's effects. A face-up Grimoire Monster equipped with this card may not be destroyed by battle. A face-up Grimoire Synchro monster equipped with this card does not take battle damage. A face-up Tuner Grimoire monster equipped with this card increases it's level by one. Grimoire Library Field Spell When this card is activated, you may activate one of the following effects. Once per turn, a Grimoire monster does not have to pay it's cost to activate it's effect. Once per turn, if a Grimoire monster would be destroyed by battle, it is not. You can send this card from the field to the graveyard to return two Grimoire monsters from your graveyard to your deck. You can reduce the Atk of an opponents monster that attacks a Grimoire Monster by the level of the attacking monster x100 Grimoire Bookworms Trap Card When this card is activated, you may activate one of the following effects. All Grimoire monsters cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. Special summon one Grimoire monster from your graveyard. Add your hand to your deck, shuffle the deck, draw 3 cards. Destroy one field spell card on the field, activate one "Grimoire Library" from your deck. Grimoire Binding. Counter Trap When this card is activated, you may activate one of the following effects. Select one monster on the field, it cannot attack this turn. If you control a face-up "Grimoire" monster, negate the activation of one spell-card, and destroy it. Pay 1000 lifepoints for every face-up "Grimoire" monster you control, destroy one card on your opponents side of the field for every 1000 lifepoints paid. Move 3 removed from play "Grimoire" monsters to your graveyard. This card gains 1000 atk for every monster used in it's Fusion Summon Take control of one mosnter on your opponents die of the field. You and your opponent discard your hands, and draw 2 cards. Hyperion Grimoire Master Atk 3500 Def 2700 Dark Warrior-type Level 10 Synchro/effect 1 "Grimoire" tuner+ 1 or more non-tuner "Grimoire" monsters. You can activate the following effects once per turn, if you activate more than one effect, this card cannot attack this turn. Special Summon one "Grimoire" Monster from your Graveyard. Return one removed from play "Grimoire" monster to your Graveyard. Return one card in your graveyard to the owners hand. Reduce this monsters level to any amount less than 6 The point is to massively swarm monsters using their own effect to immobilze any situation, fusion summon to gain more powerful costless effects if possible, and finally synchro for Hyperion, take a removed monster or destroyed monster and special summon, allowing for more fusions and more synchros, including synchroing himself, by reducing his level, and continuosly sending himself from the graveyard to the extra deck, and repeating effects until your field is swarmed with 3500 atk beatsticks, and your opponents field is empty of cards. I expect many of these cards to be limited, which would slow this deck, but not stop it. The art will be book-themed, I need an artist. Link to comment
