Emperor Despair Caliburn looked out on the dawn sky with a cloudy look in his eye. THe sun rising on the horrizon seemed a never ending shade of gold, something so pure and yet so... sorrowful. Despair closed his eyes and sighed, taking in the morning air and letting it circulate through his body. "My lord?" One of his paiges came forward, saluting their emperor and bowing on one knee. Despair opened his eyes and looked behind him at his paige. "Yes?" he asked, turning back to the dawn and walking to the balcony just outside of his living quarters. "Preparations are almost complete. The legion is ready to march at your command sir." "What is the statis of X?" "Sir, it's nearing completiong... it's just..." "Just what?" "Well... from what I've been told, sir, the components you asked for hard proving themselves hard to come by, and-" "I don't care about the gory details," Despair said, turning on his heel tot he paige and glaring at him. "Get it done. If there's going to be a minor set back, tell me that simply. Now get out, I must sing..." "Yes my lord," The Paige bowed to his emperor and exited. Despair leaned against his balcony railing and closed his eyes once more. "The pieces are almost in place... the grandest game of chest ever known is about to begin." _ "Hail, our lord and empror, the true heir to the throne, Emperor Organis Caliburn til Argox!" The once still meeting room now stood straight at attention as their lord marched his way up the hall and to his throne. As he passed, they all turned, row by row, and saluted thier lord, singing out the praise, "Our lord!" as he passed by. This was not something that had been demanded by Organis, it was done volunteerly. For everone in that hall had tremendous and unwavering respect for their Emperor. Organis walked up the seven steps that separated him from his throne and turned on his heel to the crowd before him. They all simultaniously saluted him, much to his satisfaction. In one gigantic roar, they all shouted, "All Hail our lord and savior, Emperor Organis!" Emperor Organis raised his hand for silence and it was answered with such. "The time has finally come!" he called out to his devoted people. "We have raised a legion unmatched by either of my brothers and more over the world! Our military might and cunning shall be the rue of the rest of the world! Brothers, sisters," he continued, turning and picking up the sacride sword taht leaned against his throne. He raised it high above his head and called, "Soon this sword shall plunge itself into the hart of the world! We will create a shinning future, one where I am the only emperor. And then, only then, THE WORLD WILL KNOW EVERLASTING PEACE!" This last sentance was met with cheers of aproval from all. Emperor Organis smied at them. How simple it was to manipulate a crowd. He raised his hand for silence once more and he got it. "Brothers and sisters, join me as I sing the song!" _ "Straighten up you magots! Are you so brain dead that you don't realize what this day signifies? It is the day that our lord, the mighty Mundos, has come to cheer on our everlasting fight! Starighten up the line now!" At the commande of the general, and in extension Emperor Mundos himself, the military line at the Break-point camp not only got into perfect formation but stood so straight they seemed two feet taller. "Attention!" the general shouted. "Emperor Mundos residing!" The general stepped back and stood in front of his small legion of men, the mighties of men in his humble opinion, and looked up at the sky at the approaching air ship; their emperor's airship. Embroded with the holy colors yellow and blue along with the freoucios symbol of a Knight in white armor holding the flag of their great country of Vextoria on the side. Within two minutes the air ship had landed not five hundred yards from where the general and his men were standing. The door to the airship opened and two elite guards stepped out, holding javelins decorated with the vextorian flag. As they stepped forward, two more stepped out, then two more, and two more until there were a dozen on each side, leading from the airship to the line of soilders. Finally, from out of the airship came their emperor; Emperor Mundos Caliburn vi Vextoria. As he stepped out, his elite guards turned promtply and raised the flag of Vextoria high. Mundons steped forward, grazing the flags above his head with his crown as he passed them. "Bow and make youselves presentable!" the general commanded his troops. They obeyed without question. Emperor Mundos, having reached the end of his elite guards looked at the battalion of soilders before him, all bowing, ready to serve and die for him. "Good morning soilders of the Holy Vextoria!" Mundos called at the battalion straightened up once more. "You are here for one reason and one reason alone," Mundos continued, begining to walk to the left of the line. "To spread the holy name of Vextoria to the rest of the world!" "My lord!" the battalion called in answer. "This is not an easy task, as you all know. Of the one thousand soilders that I originally sent to this Break-point between countries, only four hundred and seventy five remain, from what I've been told." Emperor Mundos turned to the smalll legion. "Those of you who has survived are the better of the thousand." Mundos turned and began walking to the right side of the line. "Vextoria dose not need soilders who will easily die on their country. Vextoria needs soilders like you, dedicated, intellegent, and most importantly," Emperor Mundos turned back to the line, "you are strong." Emperor mundos stopped where he stood and looked the line up and down. "The battle for this unenlightened country is almost over gentlemen! For this encampment, only you four hundred and seventy five men remain. Far more than enough to enlighten this miserable country." Emperor Mundos smiled in the early morning dawn light and raised his fist high. "Believe in the cause you are fighting for, never let the holy name of Vextoria be sullied and you shall never know defeat! HAIL VEXTORIA!" "HAIL VEXTORIA!" the small batalion answered their emperors call. "Now, holy soilders of Vextoria, I ask you all to join my in this early morning to sing the song tha shall slense the world! Raise your voices, let the world know what we stand for!" _ "Listen up men," Godrick's commander said to the small group of men who counldn't number more than seventy men. "Our goal today is not some foolish one as to defeat every last man in the Munalous border, that would be suicide. We are but seventy men, while they number in the hundreds. It is a battle that we cannot win head on. I am not a military strategizor, but we have a man among us who is." Godricks commader, who he had yet to learn the name of, turned to Godrick and motioned for him to step foward. Godrick nodded and stepped before the crowd of men. "As it was said, this is not a fight that we can win head on, you all know that." Godrick smiled and looked at most every face of every man and woman there. "But, we have the terrain advantage. Vextorian soilders are made to line themselves up as a single body that can attack in any direction simultaniously as well as split apart into smaller bodies. But these bodies cannot operate with the mountanous terrain of the Munalous border. We can. Right now it's just past the breaking point of dawn, the battalion will just be awakening from their nights slumber. They won't be prepared for a sneak attack." "What ar you getting at?" some one called out. "You're sending mixed messages. You said that we can't attack them head on because of their numbers but we still have the advantage?" "That's exactly what I'm saying," Godrick said without turning towards the person that spoke. "By utelizing the surrounding area, we can attack, confuse, disorientate, and even disban the group of nearly five hundred vextorian soilders at your counties border. But we have to do it right." Godrick looked around once more at the group of only seventy people beore him. Even with his words, he was doubtful of his plan. He turned to his commander for guidance who nodded in turn. Godrick nodded and turned back towards the crowd. "I know that the chance is slim, but if we do this right, we can banish this group of Vextorian soilders from your soil. Isn't it worth the risk to be a free and independant people? Isn't that what we of the Rebellion are fighting for?" There were many nods of agreement and a few cheers as well. Godrick looked over the crowd once more and said, "We can, we will defeat Vextoria. Then after them Argox will fall. And finally, when we have more than two thirds of the world against them, we will destroy the walls of Malbicious and end tyranny forever!" Many people were crying out now in agreement. Their cries echoed around the small cave that they were hidining in. Godrick turned to his commander and nodded twice. He nodded back in turn and stepped forward. "Let us sing the song! turn your heads towards the morning light and let the world hear our cries of pain and injustice!" _ And all as one, Emperor Despair, Emperor Organis and his royal court, Emperor Mundos and his small battalion at the Munalous border, and Godrick of the Rebellion all sang the holy song, each with different meaning behind the words. I am might Alone I am king Whirlwinds of fire we ride Violence brought us the crown and the ring Never again shall we die! And thus, the begining of the end has begun. Serenity the Candyman
Johnathan sat in his room pondering. Emperor Caliburn seemed more and more distracted everyday. And no wonder, with his brothers on a constant movement against him. Johnathan thought and he looked outside one of the windows that was in his room. It was only a short time ago that I came under the rule of Emperor Caliburn and every day it seems he was more out of it. Johnathan saw many a bird fly by and was captivated by the way the light of the Sun glistened off their feathers, like jewels. Navras
OOC: From now on, please put the first name of your emperor along with the last please. This is just to avoid confusion, especially since they're all triplets with the same last name. IC: There came a knock on Johnathan's door. He turned to the sudden sound. "Officer Nash," a voice rang out through the door. "You've been summoned to a special audience, and audience with his majesty himself. You are to accompany me to the grand meeting hall by eight o' clock this morning. Get ready and meet me out here in the hall." _ Godrick hid behind a large rock above the Vextorian camp. It had only been twenty minutes since his early morning speech and the unveiling of his plan, but he still felt woozy from all of the energy that the others had let off. It felt spectacular to be in front of all of them, leading them on, telling this his battle plan. For a moment, he was the king in the worlds largest game of chess, and he had control of all of the pieces. He shook his head and breathed in and out steadily. He looked over the rock down below and saw a group of Vextorian soldiers marching along. He hid his head back and looked due north east of his position. A fellow member of the rebellion met his gaze some five hundred meters away and nodded to him. Godrick nodded back and looked south west of his position. Another member of the rebellion gave him the same nod. He nodded back and dared to look over the rock once more to look westward of his position. The third and final member of the rebellion he had appointed to these positions gave him the same nod as the other three then ducked back behind their cover. Godrick did the same. The plan was as followed. In the early dawn, this morning after their beloved emperor had come to see them and their spirits where high (but their wits low), every able bodied person was to hide behind various rocks in the appointed four groups, positioned north west, east west, south east and west all around the Vextorian army, and wait for his signal. When that signal was given, as it had just been given, a group of Godrick's men were to cause a tiny artificial landslide. Two of his men would be used as scapegoats, volunteers of course, and follow the avalanche down to the bottom, where a group of Vextorian soldiers were to be waiting, wanting to know the cause of the artificial land slide. When the two had been apprehended, the camp would go on full alert and try to find any stragglers that were left besides the two. The most likely position that they would take would be to separate their soldiers in all directions. Once this has happened, he would give the signal for all four parties to create a giant avalanche via the small explosives he had issued everyone that would encase the soldiers on all sides. If there were to be any survivors, which there certainly would be, Godrick would give the signal for the first wave of fighters to descend upon them while a second wave stayed up top with flaming arrows and while a smaller third wave followed the first and covered as much of the camp as they could in oil. If they first wave failed, the second wave would come down from their perch and help the first wave. This stradegy seemed quite advantageous for the Rebellion, seeing as the Tiny Mountains were prone to avalanches and yet still held together firm. If all went as planned, it should wipe out the Vextorian camp entirely. That is if it worked. Godrick turned abruptly to the left as the small avalanche was triggered and a wave of rocks slide down the mountain side towards the group of soldiers below. The first move in the game of chess had been his, now it was time for his opponents move.
---------------
Kain was patrolling the area around the Vextorian camp, as per usual. He had been asked to guard the camp as it headed into battle, because of how inefficiently the soldiers were trained in high terrain. Kain was... different, if you considered 'different' the appropriate term to describe someone from another world where, fortunately, the armies specialize in all-terrain battles (except maybe by boat ). Kain had not been to the emperor's speech, even though he was allowed. He was only there to protect, so he felt like the speech would have been a waste on him. Especially since he was here simply to train... and be redeemed. Suddenly, Kain turned to the left, hearing a rumbling, and saw a small avalanche growing in size, and heading for the camp. He quickly jumped into action, literally. He jumped high enough for anyone to see him. He landed in front of the avalanche, as his weapon of choice, Abel's Lance, materialized in his hands. He began destroying the main wave of boulders, reducing them to mere pebbles...
Serenity the Candyman
"I understand," Johnathan said through the door, "Wait for me as I get myself together for his viewing pleasure." Johnathan began collecting his necessary items he usually needed before meeting the Emperor. It was his duty to the Emperor to do whatever he needed, and that meant that being prepared for anything. Picking up a black piece of string, he put his hair back into a ponytail so it wont interfere with his conversation with the Emperor. Then going to a table with the Masamune, he took it and made sure that it was in excellent condition. Finally, looking out the window one last time, He opened the door and walked out. Navras
Godrick looked upon the person who was stopping the avalanche. This was not something he had foreseen... but then again, something like this was a possibility and he knew it. The plan hadn't been stopped, so he continued to watch on as his two scapegoats went down the slope with the rocks. "Death to Vextoria!" one of them shouted. "Long live Munalous!" the other shouted. The first man down the slope attacked the person with the lance, drawing out their sword and swinging at the person from the side, while the other continued to slide down the slope to attack the stunned guards below. This is absolutely perfect, Godrick said. As soon as their captured, as they have to be; to kill a potential information goldmine would be as good as treason, I will have all but won this game. _ The guard inspected Johnathan from head to toe as he stepped out in the hall. He decided that he was satisfactory for his majesty and said, "Follow me." He turned and walked away, heading down the hall and past several dozen people. It was barley seven thirty in the morning, dawn at this time of year, but the castle was already bustling with activity, like a never ending clock. ---------------
Kain blocked the attackers and shoved him backwards, giving him enough time to reach into his pockets, pull out a Bomb Core, and cast a fire spell into the air, letting the camp know they were under attack. Kain then turned his attention to the villain heading downward to the other soldiers. The soldiers were struggling to get into battle position with this terrain. Kain jumped and landed in front of the attacker. "Vile fiend," he said, as he prepared to use Lancet, "Taste my blade!"
Navras
The rebel that the unknown knight had pushed back got up and came crashing down the slope again, crying out as he went. He reached his ally in time to knock the lancet out of harms way. He glared at his unknown Vextorian adversary and said, "Don't you dare underestimate us!" He lifted his sword and began to swing down once more, while his now saved partner raised his own weapon for an attack. By now there were several cries through out the camp of "We're under attack!" "Surround the perimeter!" Leave none alive!" Godrick smiled at these cries. These Vextorian's, he thought. Thinking they're so superior just because they have the advantage in numbers. Well I'll show them, I'll show them this game isn't won with just numerous pieces. Godrick quickly looked at all of the parties, including his own, nodded and raised his fingers up to his mouth. He took in a sharp breath and let out a shrill whistle that echoed around the camp. At that moment, at Godrick's whistle, the rest of the avalanche was activated. From all sides of the camp, with the help of small explosives, Godricks plan was put into effect as all sides fell down on the camp and the soldiers below. Godrick waited for only a moment to cherish the screams before standing up and screaming, "First and third wave follow me! Second wave! Rain down upon them your righteous revenge! Turn them to ash!" With that, Godrick ran down the slope with a group of fifty in total people following him, all ripe and ready for the revenge and rebirth of their country. Godrick would leave the destruction of the camp to the rest of the rebellion, as for this unforeseen knight... he would deal with him himself. ---------------
Kain barely dodged his opponent's attacks. He quickly picked up his lance, and was about to attack, when suddenly he heard many explosives. He saw a huge avalanche fall towards the camp at all sides. He could hear the soldiers yelling to fight, but he knew this was a battle they could not win. He cupped his hands around his mouth so as to amplify his voice. "EVERYONE. ESCAPE. NOW!!" He turned to the swine who had began the attack. He jumped high into the air, so far up he seemed to disappear. Then, falling so fast his opponents wouldn't be able to see him, he shoved his lance into one of the rebels. He quickly pulled his lance out and prepared to battle the other. Navras
Godrick saw the man jump but could hardly believe it. Could a human really reach such feats? Was his opponent human? Regardless, he had just lost a comrade in an unexpected way and was about to lose another. "Back off!" Godrick ordered the Rebel. He stopped in his tracks and turned to Godrick. "You can win against this opponent. Go and help spread the oil, leave no tent upright." "...Right, right away sir." The rebel turned and looked at his nameless adversary one last time before running off to help with whatever he could. Godrick watched him go then turned to his new foe. "I don't know who you are or where you came from, but I can tell you're no ordinary foe. Last I checked, Vextoria had no man who could jump that high. regardless," Godrick said reaching behind his back and unhinging his scythe. "I am no ordinary foe either. We have a very limited time before I have to insure the safety of my comrade's retreat, so let's make this quick shall we?" Godrick raised his scythe up and pointed it to his adversary. "Before we begin, can I know your name?"
galesonic
Maxwell ran down the slope of the cliff along with a squad of 5 other Rebellion soldiers, all being in the first wave. As they continued their way down, they noticed a camp, but surrounding it was a Vextorian guard. He could tell that he carried a scimitar. Maxwell smirked and looked to his group. "Go on ahead to the camp. I'll take care of him." he yelled out. The others nodded and moved away from him. He managed to make it to the bottom of the cliff onto the camp. The guard was the first to attack, cutting into the sleeveless part of Maxwell's arm. As the blood dripped down, he took out his weapon, the gunblade. The guard moved back in shock, possibly since he's haven't seen one before. Nonetheless, the guard attacked again. This time it was blocked by Maxwell's blade. "I guess this proves how valiant you are. But, I am truely sorry for this." he said as he put his hand forward as it glowed light blue. In seconds, the guard froze completely in ice. His expression was of a frightened one with some surprise. Maxwell put away his gunblade and ran towards the camp, grabbing the incapacitated guard's scimitar. Serenity the Candyman
Follow the man, Johnathan looked at all the people running about. It was the norm around here bout he had never gotten over. Looking around, he saw many different pieces of art that was scattered throughout the castle. Finally, the man stopped and opened up a pair of doors, revealing a room that had a single throne at the end of a path of red. Stepping inside, he saw no one was there. Turning to a nearby window, he saw a grand flag flying high in the sky. "Lets hope the Emperor is well today."
Navras
"I am very well," Emperor Despair said, walking out from behind his throne. He sat down in it and crossed his legs. "You may leave the two of us," Emperor said with a wave of his hand to Johnathan's guide. He bowed and left the room quietly. Emperor Despair motioned for Johnathan to come forward. "Approach the throne, Johnathan Nash." _ The destruction of the Vextorian camp was going exactly as Godrick planned. This early in the morning, full of false confidence and panic, the Vextorian soldiers were all but useless. As the first wave fought off any soldiers that hadn't been caught in the avalanche, the third wave was covering the camp with oil, and the second wave was firing arrows down at any soldiers the first wave missed. It was chaos. A Vextorian soldier approach Maxwell. This soilder was bigger than average with very little armor on and a rather large spear in his hands. He pointed to Maxwell and said, "You there! Rebellion boy! You're mine, and that sword will be mine soon enough too."
galesonic
Maxwell stopped in his tracks and noticed the large Vextorian soldier. "Well, a lot of people want my gunblade." he said as he stabbed the scimitar on the ground and took out his gunblade. "But, lets get this straight. I'm not witht eh Rebellion." he said as he rushed towards the soldier. He first slashed the buckles that held the light armor, now making him vulnerible to magic attacks. He raised his gunblade in the air as his left hand turned yellow and was shaking. He moved it across the blade and it was electrified with the spell Thunder. It looked weak in size, but it could still pack a punch. He smirked as he readied the end of his attack. "I'm a SeeD." he finally finished as he stabbed the sword into the ground. The electricity surged into teh groun and made its way towards the large soldier, striking him with the electrified assault.
Navras
The large Vextorian solider cried out in pain as electricity passed through his body. He bent down on one knee and gritted his teeth, but then smiled slightly. "SeeD, huh? never heard of it. But all I know is this," he said, standing up once more. "Any faction that isn't Vextorion is a rebel faction and must die!" The large soilder took a strong grip on his spear and charged it with a strong electrical surge. Smiling all the more, he ran towards Maxwell at surprising speeds. When he felt he was close enough, he spun around and slashed his spear at Maxwell, holding on to the end of the spear so as to make a longer reach, while at the same time releasing the electricity from his spear. Even if his spear didn't get the little punk, surely his electrical attack couldn't miss.
galesonic
Maxwell managed to dodge the strike, but still felt the pain from the electricity. It was lessened thanks to his gunblade still being in the ground, which absorbed some of it. "I guess someone has a few tricks up his sleeve." he said as he picked up his gunblade from the ground. "But so do I." he rushed towards the large man again and jumped. As he jumped he held the blade strongly and started to slash downwards. Before he did, he pulled the trigger on the gun handle, which was a revolver grip. As the trigger was pulled, the force of it sent the slash down as the bullet fired within the blade, slashing and hitting the the large soldier in the stomach, causing more damage than a regular slash from it. ---------------
Kain threw an evil look at the rebel through his helmet. "Kain." he said, "I am not a normal Vextorian man." He jumped up onto a tree branch, where he was still clearly visible. "Dragoons are well adapted for combat on all terrain. Which is why, I've been hired..." Kain gave a slight pause as he subtly stuck his lance into the base of the branch, "...to protect the soldiers from YOU!" Kain jumped and launched the branch at Godrick. Serenity the Candyman
"My Lord, i am glad that you are of good health." Johnathan said as he approached the throne. Johnathan wanted to make sure he sounded accuratly to what everyone else was saying. Kneeling before the Emperor, he bowed his head in respect before returning to his feet. Navras
The large Vextorian soldier stared forward, his eyes wide with pain and suprise. He looked down at his stomach were the gunblade was now sticking inside of him. With trembling hands, he gripped the blade of the sword and tryed to pull it out but was unsuccesful. His strength had left him. He fell to his knees, whispering, "Damn... Rebels..." He died there on the blade. _ Godrick smiled. He had anticipated an attack like this from the one that had just killed one of his men. This anticipation gave him enough time to jump to the side and bring his scythe down over Kain's spear, making the tip to dig into the ground... but still, he could feel the force inside of that thrust through his scythe. Godrick looked at Kain and said, "Don' you want to know my name? I mean, after all, I am the one who destroyed this camp." As godrick said this, he raised his hand and threw it down to his side. This was the signal for the second wave of archers to light thier arrows and fire them upon the oil ridden camp. Godrick lifted his scythe off of Kain's lance and jumped back to give himself some room. "My name is Godrick, and this," Godrick said raising up his spear, "is checkmate." The second he had said that, sections of the camp came alive with flame as the lit arrows rained down upon the camp, utter chaos. Some of the soldiers were on fire themselves. Godrick quickly looked around at the distruction he had caused then back to Kain. "We've got seconds left, solet's hurry this up." _ "Good man," emperor Despair said smiling. "Please, rise at full attention, for I have a question for you I would like to know your reaction." Emperor Despair walked over to Johnathan and sized him up, smiling kindly as he did. ---------------
"Seconds?" Kain thought, as the answer suddenly came to him. It was like the Valley of Mist all over again. No. He wasnt going through this again. "Enough!" Kain yelled, as he pulled a red stone from his being a red stone. He gripped it tightly, and it began glowing. Suddenly, it seemed to explode, and a giant flaming beast appeared from the light. "Burn in this Hell you've created!" Kain yelled, as Ifrit conjured a large ball of fire. If the camp was going to burn, Kain thought, then at least Godrick can burn with it. Ifrit lifted into the air, as the ball of fire continually got bigger and bigger, until finally Ifrit launched the flaming mass at Godrick. galesonic
Maxwell took out the gunblade from the large Vextorian soldier's belly. Blood dripped from the blade as well as the gash. He laid the deceased soldier on the ground in a fixed, relaxed position and kept his arms together. "I'm very sorry for killing you." he said quietly as he places his hand on the soldier's heart. "I hope your mana will be used for good intent in the next life." his hand started to glow white as he started to draw magic from the dead soldier. In less then 10 seconds, he was done and got up. "I also thank you for giving me Cure. I will use it well." he then wiped the blade clean and stabbed the spear next to the dead soldier as he left. He then noticed Ifrit in the air. "Someone can use GF summoning in the Vextorian ranks? Godrick must be crazy to take on a GF alone? He might need my help." he then noticed another Vextorian soldier coming at him. This time, he had a giant double-bladed axe. "But, he might be strong enough to take some damage." he said as he drew his gunblade again.
Navras
Emperor Despair smiled and patted Johnathan on the shoulder. "I like your entusiasim and your loyalty. For that you deserve to be one of the few who know tis secret. Come, follow behind me and I'll show you what you are going to be promoted to." As he spoke, Emperor Despair walked past Johnathan and towards the door. "As for your upgraded rank, you are to promoted to a captain of a very special force." Emperor Despair opened up the door to his room and looked back at Johnathan, smiling. "Shall we?" _ Godrick looked up at the summon with shock in his eyes. No way! Ifrit, here? Vextorian soldiers shouldn't be able to use summons until captain rank! What's going on here? This shouldn't be happening! As Ifrit threw it's firy attack, Godrick could only react. Swinging his scythe in front of him for defence, he Charged up the largest ice spell that he could conjure and threw it at the ball of fire. For a single moment, the ice held against the flame but that moment passed. It was all the moment Godrick needed. He jumped backwards out of hte way of the flame, but as it touched the ground the shockwave of it sent him flying back onto the ground. Godrick satup from where he lay on the ground, his body aching. "Godrick!" one of the members of the rebellion shouted as he ran up to him. Godrick looked at the man for a second and said, "Get out of here! If I die so be it!" "Sir, the mission is over! It was a success, the camp is burning and it's time to retreat!" Godrick looked over to Kain once more, gritting his teeth as he did. Damn... I have to give you the victory this time.... Godrick reached into his pack and pulled out two things. The first thing he pulled out was the signal light that was meant for all rebels to retreat. He threw it up in the air and shot a tiny spit of flame at it. This ignited it and sent it flying into the air with a dark purple smoke. The signal was set. "I congradulate you," Godrick called to Kain. "Today you've won the battle between me... but this isn't over yet." Godrick threw the second thing from his pack onto the ground, a smokebomb, and used the sudden burst of smoke to reteat with the rebel helping him along. "Kain," Godrick said to himself as he and his rebel forces retreated. "We're not done with our game yet..."
galesonic
Maxwell noticed the signal fire calling for a retreat. He then sighed as he noticed some of the Vextorian soldiers he had killed or frozen in ice, who would also be killed if they try to free them. He then kneeled on one leg. "I am truely sorry. Now, you are all at peace. Away from this hell we call a world." he inaudibly said as he got up and noticed the man who summoned Ifrit. All he could see through the ring of fire around him was a lance. He then took a mental note of how it looked and ran to cover into the forest. He had to follow orders of the Rebellion, since it was his mission. And he was getting payed a hefty sum, a bit mroe than others his rank. However, he usually was given by Godrick to bring some magic that was in certain territories. This time, it was in the Vextorian camp. "Hmm. Lets see. Fire, Blazzard, Thunder, Sleep, Silence, Cure, and Water in this camp. Just basic. But I wonder what that guy has." he said to himself as he ran from the forest to the rendez-vous point. ---------------
"Not so fast!" Kain yelled, as he was about to rush for the rebel. Unfortunately, the smokebomb shocked him for a moment, and he lost sight of Godrick through the smoke. Dammit, Kain thought, they got away. Kain turned to the camp, which was still ablaze. There were some survivors, but if they were to continue living, they would have to get help fast. Ifrit was his only summon, and there was no way he could help. Maybe there was a Vextorian airship nearby. He rushed into the camp, telling everyone he passed by to get out. He went into a burning medical tent and found what he had been looking for: a Flare Materia. Kain wasn't proficient in spells, but he equipped the materia and concentrated. He shot a weak Flare spell into the air, where it exploded. Hopefully, someone would see it...
