Yes, but why would thinks need to vanish if the drawing is of the girl in the room.
If you're standing in a room, (ie: a kitchen) do the walls and windows start disappearing if you're too far away ?
You're failing to explain this concept .. -OR- It's not supposed to be applied to this piece of work because there is nothing to "vanish".

Correct but everything does get smaller. Therefor they ARE vanishing. You can add the vanishing point too but you can ignore since its not vanishing. Then you can use it to build up your scene. Thats basic art knowledge, if you don't follow it then your drawing will be missing out a lot.

Not when you're in a room. :/
I have been self-teaching myself art since I was really young .. I don't like to be taught by other people. I think my work is good for what I have been teaching myself.

Well you should then learn one of the most important things in art - to accept criticism.

He is accepting the criticism, he's just replying and explaining why he made the window small, etc. Even though he didnt ask for criticism.

Actualy a very good drawing btw.

Well let me rephrase, he should take it openly and appreciate it and most important, learn from it.

I am taking it and accepting it. :/ I don't appreciate people harping on me about the same mistake I made in a piece of artwork. I have been told the window is too small, and my shading is sh*t. I accepted it, because I can see that it needs improvement, there is always room for improvement. But what I don't need is the same people telling me over and over again that the window is too small. I have been told once, that is all. I apologize for not being a master artist at windows ;).

Thank you SOTAJUMALA for not being a jerk about telling me this. I appreciate it, but to clarify it, I do appreciate the criticism and I am learning. It's just a little bit irate when I'm getting told the same thing over and over.

To help you, http://mckoss.com/dr...foundation1.htm, those pictures are great examples of different shading styles. Practice some and it will make your art a lot more realistic.

Thank you. I saved it.
The thing is though ... I am not going for a realism .. It's not a realistic picture .. It's anime. It's cartoon. Do you see what I mean ? I am not drawing what I see, I am drawing from my mind. You should go tell Picasso that his art is sh*t because it's not realistic .. See what I am saying ?

The thing is, your drawing looks like its half realistic, half anime, to be honest. For example, the hair's done quit complicated for it to be anime, which usually is a pretty simple style of drawing. Make it simplier, and try some cartoonish shadowing style, that should help.

I don't believe he was going for realistic at all. And that is nothing more than an example table, hardly useful. It does not show you the process as some shading styles are incredibly hard to achieve based on eyeballing alone. Not to mention, his style would require hard shading not thatching or line shading. Or even smudging...

A pixel outline on MSPaint would have taught him more.

The style of anime where you put detail into the hair and eyes like that is called shinjo anime. It's more detailed. Google it.

So in other words you gave me s*** for CnCing your drawing in Showcase just because I didn't flat out say it was fantastic or it was the best I've ever seen?

Tbh your drawing isn't that great, others have brought up where you need to fix the piece and I have brought up my two cents as well, please respect the others in this section as you do not rule it. We are only trying to help you, we aren't trying to kill you. With this being said please learn to accept the words of others, I used to be the same way and I was really close minded, I just hope that you learn soon that you cannot learn by simply doing, not when it comes to art, you need to see what is wrong with your pieces and you need to build off that to grow.

If you are all claiming he's so dense. At least show him properly? Geezus. Tossing insults left and right, regardless of who started it (psst~ he did) only makes every last one of you look bad. Knock it off.

The Red Line is your Vanishing Point and where it pinches off.
The Green Lines is your table and it's outlined to show you just how off the raw shape is.
The Blue Line is your wall Fixtures. Again, outlined to show you how off the raw size is.
The yellow Lines is your Face shape. Outlined to show you how disproportionate it is even according to your style.

See, the only thing accurate at all is your Vanishing Point, it has a base and judges the size as well as the foreground. Your Table isn't very well sized at all and according to your Vanishing Point is a lot smaller than it should be, A LOT. Why that is so? I'll get into as you read this. Your Window looks completely out of place simply due to the size being so compacted it can be outstretched a lot, and the Outlet will fix itself once you resize the Table accordingly.

As for your foreground. Your heads natural shape actually got CUT-OFF >_> the image. Yes yes, gothic anime or shinjo anime, whatever you prefer to call it. The problem? The head itself isn't facing 3/4 or 2/3, making it dis-proportioned just by design. And about the table/window? Yeah. They can stay pretty large based on the size of the image as long as they aren't directionally proportionate to the Foreground Head.

I could go into the whole texture and shading stuff... But please get the basics down before I go further.
