This is the sequel to Yu-Gi-Oh! The Gods of Balance. I'm still working on that series, but while I am, I'll just post this for now.

I was bored, so I made the prologue for this...something. Title coming soon~

Long ago, there existed four High Gods, above all others, which included the King of Shinigami. Their names were Bai, Hēisè, Zhōnglì, and Méiyǒu, respectfully representing Yin, Yang, Neutrality, and Nothing. They existed for balance. Without even one of them, everything would fall into chaos far bigger than any evil that can ever be. And although their secret was unknown to every non-deity, there was one who found out. One with power that transcends reality. One who seeks answers that cannot be answered by anything but Gods of balance themselves.

Anyway, this fanfic is basically A-Kira vs Zane, with the Tao King unable to complete his goals due to it.
His name was Thanatos. His appearance looked quite skeletal with spinal cord-like arms long enough to touch his feet without bending a bit and bone-like skin. He had short white hair and had no iris. His sclera was yellow and his pupil was sharp. He was just another normal Shinigami, albeit a Shinigami had dropped his Death Note and Thanatos and found it, and hadn’t returned it. As he looked down into the human world, he wondered what it was like to be one, and to die like one, but he decided that that going to Mu as a human was boring. Maybe he should just turn away an-

The Tao King laughed. He had just enough time for the negativity to last for him to gain the God of Yang. He appeared in the next world, although he was surprised. The land was only barren, dry, and desolate land which included different landscapes and did not have human-like buildings. There were areas with bone and/or stone structures (He couldn’t tell which was right). He was also able to see various holes on the ground. The holes, which were shaped like concentric orbs, were littered about the surface. The artifacts had openings, and when he looked closer, he saw the human world from a birds-eye view. What an idiot he was, this world probably had a second layer. Without a moment’s thought, he dived into the nearest hole, with no regard for the weird being staring into it while holding a notebook.

A beam of light passed right in front of him. He was so shocked that he dropped his original Death Note into the human world. He watched as it fell down into the human world, following the beam of light. “Blast it.” He said. And he couldn’t keep the one he had taken, for soon the owner would try and take it back. He needed to get his own Death Note back. He didn’t pay a single thought to the beam of light that had recently passed him. He got and began racing. He needed to get into the human world fast and get his Death Note back, before someone decides to touch it, forcing him to kill that person with the extra notebook.

He raced towards a passageway big enough to take him to the human world, and, while ignoring the other Shinigami who were staring at him in curiosity. He told him that he had dropped his Death Note in the human world, although he hadn’t said anything about the beam of light, and nobody knew that he had an extra Death Note. He ran down the stairs and stared for a tiny moment, looking at the human world from above. Then his wings stretched out. They were giant, bat-like wings although they were white. He then jumped down head-on, and dived into the human world, although by then, it was too late.

The Tao King hit the ground, and laughed for a moment, before he realized he was attracting attention. He was standing in some kind of local Japanese area. He hadn’t considered landing somewhere public. He quickly turned himself invisible and planted into the people’s minds that they were just imagining it, before walking away. The God of Yin was affecting him even now. He had to hurry and finish this job quickly.

His name was Rida Shinoshi. He had long black hair that fell to middle of his back, but that was only because nobody bothered to cut it very seriously. As he was coming back from school, he heard someone laughing. It was a person dressed in very weird clothing, but suddenly he realized he had just imagined it. Was his brain finally deciding that it can’t handle the pressure of knowledge? He doubted it, but then when all others staring at the scene turned away to go back to their normal lives, he kept on looking.

As he did, he noticed a white notebook fall from the sky, from nowhere. He walked up to it, and picked it up. It looked like a normal notebook, only it had Egyptian hieroglyphics on the cover, as if that was the title. Rida then realized that the first line of hieroglyphics, which was a hand, a vulture, and a mouth, meant Death.
