Merci
This is meant to be a Special, so there are no Chapters, just one big thing like an OVA or something. Novella? I dunno.Anyway, this is just a short preview so don't expect anything much.I tried my old way of typing fanfics. Any help with how to fix this thing'll be appreciated. It's a lot easier to do these things are books, though, it's just paragraph, space on next paragraph, skip a line if skip timeframe, etc. Really.Anyway, even when I DO finish this, you'll probably won't get anything.
The laboratory was huge and spread out, in size comparable to New York. It was over thousands of years old, but the person who did his experiments made time inside the enormous laboratory not pass. As in, one could enter the laboratory and move about, and that person would never need to eat or drink, which included some of the laboratory’s live experiments, and caused everything else not to rust or dry up, along with the added side-effect of when you go outside, not even a second has passed.A girl walked into the laboratory. She looked about seventeen, had light skin and long greenish blue hair, purple eyes, and two heavy purple wristbands, along with two purple bracelets worn above the elbows. She wore a purple robe that went all the way down to her feet, and her feet were barefoot. Oh and her name was Isamy.“Greetings, Isabella.” A voice said. From a corner emerged a man. He was wearing a very tattered and faded dark samurai-esque jacket with a black jumpsuit underneath. He had unnaturally pale skin, blackish hair with tints of white here and there, two red armguards, and had an onyx sword with a mummified hilt. On the left side of the jacket were big unnatural tears, for the tears didn’t show the jumpsuit within, instead showing a glowing gray.“Who’s Isabella?” Isamy asked. She was confused. And then so was the man.“Seriously, you’re not Isabella?” The man blinked for a moment. “Impossible, I am never wrong. But wait, you do not have blond hair and blue eyes, do you? But that is very weird, really. No matter, my name is Protheus Maximus. And what is your name?”“It’s Isamy.”“Ah. What are your origins?”“I don’t remember. I came here looking for them.”“You are not one of my experiments. But I am sure you are Isabella, appearance-wise or not, otherwise you would have never found your way here. Only those chosen by Protheus Maximus can enter..”“Minerva told me to come here. He showed me the way.”Protheus blinked again. “Minerva? Who’s that?”“He’s your son. Or did you forget that? Now that I think about it, aren’t you supposed to be enjoying your reincarnated life somewhere? What are you doing here? You’re defying logic, as far as I’m concerned.”“I see. I am a portion of Protheus Maximus, separated from his soul when he was about a thousand years old. He may have fooled around with some girl after I separated from him. Either way, he hasn’t returned yet. If he is gone, as you say, then I shall initiate what I was told to do a second ago. Step this way, please.”And the portion of Protheus turned and began walking through a corridor in the enormous laboratory, with Isamy following. And then he stopped in front of a wall. Isamy realized that there were hundreds of scribbles on the wall that stretched all the way across it, but then she realized it was a map, and when she looked closer, she saw small handwriting everywhere naming the sections from ‘Section 1’ to ‘Section 1308’. That's a lot of sections, she thought.“Even an immortal like me cannot find everything by memory. Now, I’m looking for Section One Hundred and Eight… Section One Hundred and Eight….. One Hundred and Eight…. Ah, here we go! Section One Hundred and Eight!” And then Protheus turned left and began walking again, with Isamy following again. She looked around as they entered different sections, each having different objects.Section 13 had a slightly more widespread area as it had the basic skeleton of a Duel Runner, along with lots of papers surrounding it, each one having different designs on them (“That’s where I’m trying to develop the ultimate Duel Runner. I’ve never been a fan of technology, but my magic is greatly limited as I am but a small piece,”). Section 161 had a tube filled with greenish liquid with a human woman with strange, almost-crablike hair while wearing a black jumpsuit, floating inside it (“Pay no need to that one,”).After an hour, they had entered the area that covered the 500 to 999 sections. Due to the laboratory, Isamy didn’t tire from the long distances. And then a person looking fourteen years old came from a corner and bowed to Protheus. He had light skin, long red hair, red eyes, and wore a white lab coat. Even so, there was a devilish grin on this face.“Oh, and who might this be, Master Protheus?” The person asked.“This is supposedly my successor, Xyn, no matter how weak she looks. But she’ll be strong soon enough. And no, you are not allowed to consume her. You might be a Hellion, but you cannot eat whatever you like here.” Protheus replied. Xyn’s grin slowly faded.“So be it then, Master.” And he walked away. Isamy was curious about him.“Is he a scientist here?” She asked.“Yes, and he’s also an experiment. I cloned him from a certain being of a certain universe from Hell.” Isamy didn’t feel like asking more.As they walked, they passed more and more sections. Each section had a lot of space, and most of them were handled by robots. The rest were handled by people in lab coats, although Isamy was never given the time to look more closely at them. Some of the sections had different, unique things, but most of them were tubes with people of different kinds floating in them, all wearing jumpsuits, except one, which wasn't wearing anything. Isamy blushed and turned away, and when Protheus noticed this, he screamed in anger at the robots that were taking care of it. Turned out that one of them had a malfunctioning chip, which made it remove the suit thinking it was trash. After everything was fixed, they continued on further. As they entered the 1000’s sections, another person approached them. He had tan skin, short black hair with small tints of white, onyx eyes, and wore a black lab coat. He looks a lot like Minerva, Isamy thought. “And I suppose this is another experiment?” She asked.“And a scientist, yes, he is a young clone of me, but apparently, I forgot that I’m useless without magic and knowledge, and this clone has neither, but I cannot dispose of people when they have already been brought into existence and can be useful, can I?” Protheus replied.Isamy saw the clone grinding his teeth possibly due to anger, but Protheus didn’t notice it either way. “I can be much more useful in the field! I can prove myself!” The clone shouted out at Protheus. Isamy flinched back, but Protheus didn’t.“Sure you can, run along now. Protheus’s true successor is here.” The clone then walked away, but his eyes were kept on Protheus and Isamy, looking at them with deep cold eyes of hatred. “I’m going to have to dispose of him later though. He’s nothing but trouble these past few seconds.” Protheus muttered. Isamy could only look at him in horror. As they continued onto the final 100 sections, they entered through a long dark empty corridor. The only footsteps that were making echoes were Isamy’s, and she noticed it odd that Protheus's steps didn't make any sound, and creepy. She noticed that there was a buzzing kind of sound beyond the door at the end of the very long corridor. As they got closer, she noticed the buzzing sound was actually that of chattering. It took a few minutes for them to reach the very end. They got to the door, and Protheus pushed the door open.Suddenly, there were loud voices everywhere, all from chattering, the clanging of weapons and shields, the casting of magic, and the summoning of Duel Monster cards. They were walking through yet another corridor, only this one had glass walls. As Isamy continued to follow Protheus, she looked down at the glass walls, watching below them. There was a huge space below them, divided into three sections, the cafeteria, battle arena, and dueling arena.“Be lucky, Isabella, this army is going to be yours once I’m done with you.” Protheus said.As Isamy tried to see what the small people below them were like, she noticed that they all had short black hair, which were all the same.“They all have the same hairstyle and color,” Isamy said.“Yes, well, that army is a clone army, just so you know. They’re clones of the Champion of Chaos, Drakath, but you don’t have to bother yourself with who that person is. All I can say is that he’s the strongest human I could find in the entire multiverse that was available. I know stronger people, but they’re either unavailable, or their samples keep running away from me, literally. The last thing I needed that last time was a million Buus when all his samples regenerated into different beings. I had to teleport them to a different multiverse entirely for the sake of order. Now, you should see the last area of this laboratory.” And they entered yet another door. There was only a widespread oval area. No corners, only glass tubes filled with green liquid and people floating in them. Isamy looked around her. She recognized someone floating in one of them.“That’s Yugi Muto, the King of Games!” She said. She ran towards that glass tube, and laid her fingers on the glass. It was obviously him. He looked like a kid, but Isamy knew he was teenager. He was wearing a blue jumpsuit. “How did you….?”“I captured him, of course.” Protheus replied. “I went through a lot of trouble capturing him, and I only caught him in a side universe, for no one is able to interfere with the mainstream. Except Paradox, of course, I envy that guy.” There were other people floating in tubes, but Isamy couldn’t recognize any one of them. “Now, follow me.”They headed towards the tube at the very back. The person floating in that tube had the craziest hairstyle that could be taken beyond the impossible. Isamy blinked, and suddenly the scenery had changed. She was now standing in a white widespread area on one side, with Yugi Muto on the other. She was shocked, but didn’t show it. She looked down and noticed they were standing on a Duel field. She looked up and saw a glass window with Protheus looking down at them.“What’s happening?!” She shouted, so that Protheus could hear her. Protheus, however, only needed to use speakers. He took out a megaphone, and said into it: “Behold! The King of Games, Atem! You see, I didn’t capture not one Yugi, but two Yugi’s! Yes, TWO Yugi’s! And the second one has been….modified. Right now, he’s assuming that someone has challenged him a Duel, and he accepted, and well yeah. I am quite sure you get the point. Anyway, if you are to be the successor of Protheus Maximus, you, Isabella, must defeat none other than……the King of Games! Oh, and if you lose, your soul’ll get sent to the Shadow Realm and I’ll just send all the living experiments in this here laboratory into battle against the multiverse. And they’ll have no leader seeing as I can’t leave this facility, so it’ll be pretty chaotic.”Isamy didn’t know what to say. She had come here to learn, not to battle the King of Games, and not to become the successor to Minerva’s father. She was utterly dumbstruck. And she wasn’t Isabella. But she already knew Protheus was convinced she was. There was nothing she should do, except Duel to the end. She looked up and faced Yugi, whose appearance should be left to the imagination, for it was ridiculous beyond the impossible.“All right, I challenge you to a Duel!” She said to him.“I accept!” Yugi replied. “It’s time to duel!”And then a great aura of power surrounded Yugi as the Millennium Puzzle around his neck glowed, and a symbol resembling an eye appeared on his forehead, which was the Eye of Wdjat. He pulled in his right arm as he activated his Duel Disk, and then he was ready to Duel. Yami Yugi, that is. Isamy activated her own Duel Disk, and looked at Yami Yugi. He would have Dark Magician in his deck, for that she was sure, but she wasn’t sure about anything else. He would also probably have a Kuriboh, and maybe even the Egyptian Gods with it. Isamy couldn’t be sure.“Duel!” They both said simultaneously.Isamy LP: 4000Yami Yugi LP: 4000“I’ll go first, draw!” Yami Yugi said as he drew his card, in style. “I summon Mystical Elf in defense mode!” A monster appeared which looked like a woman with blue skin in a green robe, which looked like it was praying (DEF 2000). “Then I set a card. Turn end.”Isamy LP: 4000Yami Yugi LP: 4000“My turn, draw!” Isamy said. She then drew her card. She looked at her hand cards. “I summon Cat the Guardian of the Sun!” And then a light brown cat with dark-brown spots jumped out of nowhere, wearing a golden collar around its neck (ATK 1300). “I activate the effect of Cat. When it is summoned, I can discard any number of cards to increase its ATK by 500 per the number of cards I discard. So now I’ll discard four.” (ATK 1300 = 3300)The cat’s eyes glowed as it suddenly gained in size. It was then twice as big as a wolf. But then the face-down card on Yami Yugi’s side of the field opened up.“That’s….....”“Dimension Magic! When there is a Spellcaster-type monster on my field, by tributing one monster, I can Special Summon a different Spellcaster from my hand! By tributing Mystical Elf… Come forth, Dark Magician!”And the Mystical Elf disappeared in a flash before being replaced by a different monster, which had a fair body while wearing purple armor, with the helm going into a point like a wizard hat (ATK 2500). It also had light skin and long purple hair inside of its armor, and wielded a green staff.“That’s Dark Magician….” Isamy muttered to herself.“I activate the effect of Dimension Magic! I can destroy one monster on the field!”Suddenly, Cat was enclosed in a sarcophagus, and before Isamy could comprehend what was actually happening to her monster, it exploded.“I’ll set two cards and end my turn.” She then concluded.Isamy LP: 4000Yami Yugi LP: 4000“My turn, draw!”To be continued.................
Remember this is only a short preview. Premier Alexander Romanov
Awesome! You going to mention Protheus' self-proclaimed arch-nemesis? (He proclaimed her, not the other way around.)
Merci
Probably, but that'll be at the end. Self-made duels are hard to make, and a self-made duel with Yami, a character not made by and not completely understood by me, is even harder.
