Dark Dragon Lord Deck

I'm not the best Deck Maker in the world, so don't insult me.

This is a Deck revolving around "Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord", who is based around Counter Trap cards.

His effect is:

After a Counter Trap Card you control negates the activation of an opponent's card(s) or effect(s), you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Then activate the appropriate effects, based on the type of card negated:

• Spell: Inflict 1500 damage to your opponent.

• Trap: Select and destroy 1 card your opponent controls.

• Effect Monster: Select 1 monster in your Graveyard and Special Summon it.

So basically, making a Counter Trap Deck would be helpful.

Monsters that have effects when Counter Traps activate are extremely helpful with this kind of Deck. First, of course, we need 3 "Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord"'s.

Then, to skim through your Deck quicker, maybe adding 2 "Bountiful Artemis"' would help you get the cards you need quicker. Everytime a Counter Trap is activated while he's face-up on your side of the field, you get to draw a card. Helpful?

If you're running low on Life Points, you also have "Meltiel, Sage of the Sky", who's effect states that whenever a Counter Trap card is activated, increase the controller's Life Points by 1000. Might want to add 2 in.

"Harvest Angel of Wisdom" is really helpful in getting back Counter Traps, since when it's destroyed as a result of battle, you can add 1 Counter Trap from your Graveyard to your hand. Might want to add 3.

If you want to get Counter Traps earlier, there's always "A Cat of Ill Omen" sends 1 Trap Card from your Deck and places it on top. This would go well with "Bountiful Artemis", instead of having a bunch of weak monsters, we'll add 2 to be safer.

Now time to add some staple monsters. Staples are a variety of cards that can help out almost any Deck. There's Monarch's, "Cyber Dragon", "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole", "Morphing Jar", and many others. Now let's add the most helpful ones. "Cyber Dragon" can be Special Summoned if you have no monsters and your opponent has at least 1, and with an ATK of 2100, he is very useful. Maybe adding 2 would have a better percentage of drawing 1.

That's 14 monsters, keeping an average of about 18-20 monsters is the best. Since this Deck is more about Trap Cards, we will have 18 monsters, room for more Traps. 4 monsters left. Don't you hate it when your best Traps you need the most are in your Graveyard? Add 2 "Mask of Darkness"' so you can return a Trap.

To get a couple cards you need, you may need a searcher. "Sangan" is one of the best searchers in the Advanced Format at this point, making it an important staple.

Now, 1 monster left to put in. So far, we have the Counter Trap Reactor's, 3 Staples, and a couple Trap Recievers. What more do we need? A monster to protect your Life Points is what. Marshmallon is the best monster to protect your Life Points, because it can't be destroyed by battle. What's better is, he isn't destroyed when targeted by card effects like "Spirit Reaper". He also inflicts 1000 Points of damage to your opponent's Life Points when Flipped.

Time for the Spells. Of course, add the staples. And since we only need 10 Spells, and there's no good Spells for this type of Deck, might as well keep the staples.

Mystical Space Typhoon

Heavy Storm

Smashing Ground

Premature Burial

Book of Moon

Shrink x2

Brain Control

Shield Crush x2

Time for the biggest part of the Deck, Traps. We will need Counter Traps to help make this Deck best, and to stop your opponent. These are the best Counter Traps available, and can help in tight situations.

Dark Bribe x3

Pulling the Rug x2

Negate Attack x3

Divine Wrath x2

Solemn Judgement x2

I don't usually use Side Decks, so I won't be building one at this moment. If you have any comments or suggestions, please let me know.

Please do not call me a "no0b", I tried my best.

I know it's long' date=' but it has explanations.

Like I said, I DON'T USE SIDE DECKS!

[/quote']

Like I said, though, it detracts from the deck itself to have to read down the list. You should just put it below the deck a ways.

And if you're not using a side deck, then you're only half dueling. And so this deck actually gets a lower rating because it's easily foiled.

Don't worry, I will be editing my post.
