Alright. Back to my rant.
In Episode 123, Harald states that the reason that Team Five D's and Team Ragnarok can't team up is because Yusei's father caused the Zero reverse event.
How does that make sense?!? The single reason that they can't team up is that Yusei's father caused Zero Reverse!
Let's analyze how this is incorrect:
1. DR. FUDO DIDN'T CAUSE ZERO REVERSE!!! ROMAN DID!!! In fact, Dr. Fudo tried to stop the damned thing from happening!
2. Why does Yusei have to pay for the sins of his father?!? We've never had this development before!!! If this was a bit of a recurring theme, then it would make sense, but Team Ragnarok hating on a guy because his father allegedly did something? That's just mean!
3. If Yusei's old man caused the Zero Reverse event, why are you just saying "Oh yeah, we don't want to team up because of this reason." instead of "YOUR FATHER CAUSED ZERO REVERSE!!! YOU MUST PAY!!!"?
4. Yusei's father doesn't seem all that remorseful for allegedly causing the event! He hates that the event happened, and he couldn't PREVENT it, but he didn't CAUSE it!!!
Furthermore, Dragan's logic for hating Jack is similarly flawed. Dragan's dad was injured in a cave collapse, and Dragan didn't have the money for his surgery, so Lazar came along and offered the guy a job. Dragan was supposed to lose a duel against Jack to make the guy look good, and he would get compensated in return. Dragan did so, and his father is doing better, but Dragan's supposed pride was thrown away.
Now, here's a thought: WHY WAS HIS PRIDE DAMAGED?!? He lost the duel to HEAL HIS FATHER! Isn't that worth losing a duel over?
Seriously! This episode made me WTF after I saw it! The logic is severely flawed, and I want to know how this stuff makes sense!

lol, quite true. Apparently staying factually accurate in 5D's isn't required.

2. Why does Yusei have to pay for the sins of his father?!? We've never had this development before!!! If this was a bit of a recurring theme, then it would make sense, but Team Ragnarok hating on a guy because his father allegedly did something? That's just mean!
This is a common thought process though. Many cultures require the son to pay for the sins of the father should the father be unable to compensate. I'm not saying it's a good thing, or even a smart thing, but it happens. I agree though, up to this point no one held Yusei at all responsible for anything relating to Zero Reverse, so it shouldn't start out of the blue, especially when these two teams should put aside their differences to, I don't know, SAVE THE WORLD!!!

3. If Yusei's old man caused the Zero Reverse event, why are you just saying "Oh yeah, we don't want to team up because of this reason." instead of "YOUR FATHER CAUSED ZERO REVERSE!!! YOU MUST PAY!!!"?
Same answer as I gave for #2. They shouldn't, and there is no reason at this point for them to do it.

4. Yusei's father doesn't seem all that remorseful for allegedly causing the event! He hates that the event happened, and he couldn't PREVENT it, but he didn't CAUSE it!!!
Yep, of course Team Ragnarok wouldn't actually know this. Actually, come to think of it, is it public knowledge that Dr. Fudo didn't start Zero Reverse? That would explain some of this if it isn't.

Now, here's a thought: WHY WAS HIS PRIDE DAMAGED?!? He lost the duel to HEAL HIS FATHER! Isn't that worth losing a duel over?
This one makes more sense imo, because throwing a game, no matter what the reason, often injures a person's pride. Especially if they threw a game they could've easily won.

Seriously! This episode made me WTF after I saw it! The logic is severely flawed, and I want to know how this stuff makes sense!
Agreed. This episode really should not have gone down the way it did. They should team up instead of fight against each other and then just ignore each other afterward.
I have no idea why he isn't mad at Lazar, or for that matter cursing Goodwin's existence with every other sentence since he seems so bent on Jack's destruction. Another plot hole. Also, not most people's version of Pride. Maybe you have a rare version of Pride, but most people hate to lose, love to win and can't stand when others do better than them.

I have a sense of pride, but I also know when to go along when the chips are down, especially when you are SAVING YOUR FATHER'S LIFE!!!
I'm sorry I keep going back to this, but Dragan lost to pay for a life-saving operation for his father! What ever happened to taking one for the team? I mean, I would sell myself on the streets if it was to pay for one of my parents to live! I would do anything to get that money! Would you?
But would you want revenge against the ones who put you through a loss to save the one you love?!? That seems incredibly stupid and contrived for Dragan to want revenge on somene for helping to save their father's life!

Thank you for clarifying this.
Now another question: WTF happened to Aki(za), Leo, Luna, and Bruno?
Akiza has only had 2 duels this season! TWO! IN THE PAST 70 EPISODES!!! In comparison, she had four duels in season one!
And Leo and Luna have been greatly reduced in their roles as well! Luna only had one duel, which she lost, as opposed to her other two, where one ended in a draw and the other where she took over for Leo and won. Leo, however, lost the same duel as Luna, but had another duel earlier that season that he won! He had three duels in Season One that he lost, and his sister had to tag in for him in the Devack duel!
Really?!? I thought these were main characters! What happened to them?!? Why didn't they get Majestic upgrades and Cosmic Synchros?!? Why hasn't Crow received the same kinds of cards as Yusei and Jack?
What happened to my dear Aki(za)?!?!?

I've been wondering those same things as well. They're all supposed to be Main Characters...make them be Main Characters, not cheerleading supporters. I'm hoping it's just because of the all the focus on the WRGP arc that they haven't been in the story and that the next story arc will bring them back into the show. Also, I want Crow to get a new card like Jack and Yusei...if he does, it'll probably be called Black Hole Dragon (sticks with the space themed names). Well, I'm hoping that along with the return of the other signers he'll get a new power in the next story arc. He's the only Signer without an ability at the moment (Yusei has Clear Mind, Jack has Burning Soul, Aki(za) has Psychic powers and Luna has the ability to travel to the Spirit World). I'm personally betting that his ability will be called Raging Heart or something very close to that. It would fit in with the rest of the powers and it would make sense since he's a passionate player.

I also want Akiza to get a cool spacey card! It seems like 5D's is falling back on the anime trope that the protagonist and the rival character get the powerful stuff, and everyone else gets sidelined.
Take Digimon for example. In Adventure, Tai and Matt were the only ones who could go Mega. Similarly, in Adventure 02, Davis and Ken's DNA Digivolution was the only on that could go Mega, and in Frontier, Takuya and Koji were the only ones who could go Hybrid, then beyond that, sidelining the others for the rest of the season. Tamers and Data Squad rectified the situation by giving all three main characters (as well as three more in Data Squad) Mega Digivolutions.
Honestly! I thought the Signers were supposed to be all in this together! (Yes, I just referenced High School Musical.) I want Akiza to have a bigger role! Carly too! She hasn't dueled at all this season, compared to three duels last season! Why are Yusei and Jack the only ones who get special cards?!?

lol, I wasn't expecting a Digimon reference, but it certainly works.

Anyway, we probably won't see much more dueling from Carly...maybe another duel or two, but that'd be it. I'd like to see Akiza get a new super card, but I really doubt she will because of her "power" already having a use. As for everything else, 5D's stopped being imaginative at "Card games on motorcycles", so I'm not expecting any more creative plots. I saw the idea of Dark Signers coming a mile away, but the Machine Emperor/WRGP arc was at least semi-creative.

Especially since they're introducing this whole "future" thing.
One more subject to rant on though: WTF was up with Devack?!?
The guy has no backstory! None! All we do know is that his transformation was unwilling! Honestly, they could've easily taken a few minutes out of one of the 4 episodes that consisted of his duel to explain where he came from! His entire duel was eclipsed by this semi-pointless Spirit World min-arc! Seriously! How can you give all of the other Dark Signers complex backgrounds and forget about this guy?!?
(I've been saying that Devack was Roman's college roommate. That, and he's also an accountant. His last name is Devack, but I bet you can guess what his first name is.)
