a New year at the Duel Academy Starts, 3 cards having been found in the Duel Academy at the end of the year before and after seeing what they were took them to the chancellor to try to figure out what they were, a few students having seen them along the way wondering why he was taking 3 cards through the grounds by himself. After seeing them the Chancellor had hidden them in an old abandoned Dorm, declaring that dorm forbidden and having a teacher watching it every night. instead of the usual way of arrival across the bridge this years students are traveling to the island on a Cruise ship, some of these students believed to be descendants of ancient Pharaohs. 8 cards having been sent to the Duel Academy, 3 of these to help control the god cards with those who had them, however the 3 to control them also increased their power slightly when used but was able to keep them from controlling those who had them. the other 5 were monsters designed for the new students that year having been the only copies of those five yet made. One of the teachers, Kazuya, had always been covered in Darkness during his time at the school, shadows covering him coming from an unknown source, he has applied and got the job of Practical dueling instructor of the Avatar Black Dorm, most of the students who had seen him when he was outside of the classroom in the light though they saw something next to him as shadows covered him but just continued moving thinking they saw something and went to their next class. Kazuya has now joined the teachers aboard the boat waiting for the students to arrive the boat waiting nearby the bridge for the students to board

Shin sat on his portable chair with his two bags and a brief-case next to him. His bright face and light blond hair always made him seem to be playful and friendly, but this morning was off to a bad start. Shin lifted his Deck case, that he held in his right hand, to his chest as he used his left hand to shuffle threw the cards a few more times. "No no no... This isn't complete... this is not a good thing... without this deck completed... well I just hope that no one wants to duel me... and this is a ship full of students... and teachers... Both groups have their top-dogs and their inflated-Ego- maniacs... I'm so screwed..." He mumbled to himself as he set his cards back in the hand held case. Shin picked up the brief-case and opened it just long enough to throw the Deck-case in. He let the brief-case fall to his side. Shin took out his Cell-phone and checked the time. "Just another 15 minutes or so..." he told himself. "Why didn't I just listen to my brother and showed up RIGHT before the ship should have?..." Shin sat his face in his hands and rested his elbows on his knees. His stomach grumbled loud enough for some of the close-by students to hear him. "Why didn't I pack a breakfast? ... I'm so stupid..." Shin looked up to the sea and a strange feeling blew over him. The sight of the big Sea had melted away his sadness and frustration for a moment, the recent emotions were replaced with the thrill of adventure and a sense of danger. A grin made it's way to Shin's friendly face and completed his normal bright and happy picture.

Akarui just suddenly came out of nowhere at the pier. Munching on a bacon sandwich. His Duel Disk was on his left arm. He smiled as he looked at his cell. "Not much longer..." he stated. He opened the deck box on the right side of his belt. He pulled out the top card of it. He then activated his Duel Disk. The five talons popped out. He placed the card on it and a hologram of a monster appeared. One arm was ice-cold. The other was on fire. Each arm had a sword that was the same element as its arm. He returned the card to his Deck Box and the hologram disappeared.

(sugar high = bold word :))

Louise hurried through the harbour, her right hand pulling the bag on her shoulder back up, whilst her left was dragging a suitcase behind her. "Jeez," she sighed, "what sort of parents leave their kid to struggle to get all their stuff to the school they made her go to?" She paused for a moment so that she could adjust the duel disk on her left arm. She didn't want to wear it, but there wasn't room to pack it elsewhere, and somehow walking onto a ship full of people obsessed with a card game without it didn't seem like the best move. She rounded a corner and reached the place where the ship should be, which let her drop her bag for a moment and rest.

ooc: @Mega Man: suddenly came out of nowhere? >.> why not just have him already having been at the pier..
@psyduck: reached the hip? you mean ship? it hasn't arrived yet..

IC:
Kazuya sat down in the shade watching as the shoreline grew slightly larger as the ship moved closer to land about 15 minutes away from shore. "I wonder if shin is already waiting.. probably even forgot to have breakfast knowing him" Kazuya thinks to himself as he sits there thinking about his brother for a second before pulling a deck out of one of his pockets, looking through the cards quickly and pulling one out of the deck, placing the deck in a pouch on his shoulder while he sets up his duel coat, then standing as he finishes setting it up. then placing the two cards in his hand on two adjacent monster card zones, one of these being "Ninja of Elements - Absorbus, The Light Absorber", the other being "Ninja of Elements - The Traveller" the little light around Kazuya quickly disappearing as the monster appear next to him while he takes a note out of his pocket. "take this to him.." he says silently to The Traveller who he can see in the darkness that most wouldn't be able to see through then handing the note to them. a Small hole then opens in the air infront of them, the edges looking ripped as the Traveller steps inside and it closes, another soon opening across on the shore, the traveller stepping out before it closes walking up towards the dock, looking at shin, sitting on his chair most likely not even having noticed the monster card walking towards him, most people who saw him would probably think they were seeing things, having been brought into the real world by Kazuya's skill that he shares with his younger brother, The Traveller had physical form able to be seen by all and interact with objects in the real world.

Shin's eye lids slid open long enough for him to see The Traveler walking torwards him with a note. The sides of shin's grin darted upwards into a wider smile. He stood, his shirt was a bit stretched out and fell around his body like it didn't belong. Shin walked towards The Traveler and stoped a few feet away. "So my brother sent you, huh?" Shin mumbled, his grin faded when his eyes fell to the note. "What is this?" He said as The Traveler handed it too him. Shin read the note over a few times before he did anything else.

OOC: @ANBU: I like mysterious appearances lol XD they're my thing... that AND getting my characters injured half the time.... AND losing things...

IC: Akarui popped the last bit of sandwich he had in his hand into the air. It landed directly in his mouth. "Never missed before..." Akarui stated with a smile. He opened his deck box once more and this time pulled the whole deck out. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, when he opened them, his deck was gone. "!!!" the cards were in the air, the wind blowing them over the sea. He jumped off the docks. He activated his Duel Disk once more, but this time two of the talons shot out from ropes. The talons managed to grab a few of the cards, they retracted and Akarui immediately placed them into his Deck Box, still in mid-air. He landed in the water. Many of the cards still in the air. Akarui managed to catch a few others...

A card fluttered past Louise's face, and she snatched it out of the air. She turned to see a boy look in surprise as his cards blew away from him, before he leaped off the edge of the dock after them. "Idiot," she muttered, lifting the card she'd caught to see what it was. However, her attention was caught by talons shooting out from the boy's duel disk and snatching the cards out of the air. OK, what the heck? Who has extendible talons fitted to their duel disk? I mean I knew the people here would be slightly obsessed with this game, but come on. I'm not even on the boat yet and they're already doing nearly impossible tricks.

Akarui kept on muttering stuff. He had gotten all the cards, he got back on the dock soaking wet "Damn this." he muttered. He looked through the cards and discovered he was missing one. He then looked up and discovered someone had it. He walked up to Louise and took the card, muttering all sorts of things under his breath. "**** this ******* day." he muttered as he placed the card back in his deck. He looked at the sea, finally calming down as he lied back on the dock. He closed his eyes. The retractable talons on his Duel Disk deactivated, and Akarui dozed off...

ooc: @Megaman: yeah but just suddenly came out of nowhere seems quite a bad way to start your opening post..

@Techi: i know.. it'll be in this post (i need to have stuff to put in my posts after all xD)

IC: The Traveller watched as shin came over to him,, handing him the note before taking a few steps back. The note that Kazuya had wrote to him had read "knowing you, you'd probably be here before breakfast so.. the boat will be arriving soon but I'll get there within a couple seconds, after all you need to make sure you didn't forget anything else that and it'd be good to see what others have shown up, I'll bring some food with me for you.. I'd appreciate it if you make sure the others won't try anything when i arrive.. after all we don't want anyone starting a fight and then being held down by Tornadus and Windy.. just try to keep them calm if they notice me coming.. well ill be there soon". Kazuya stood in the darkness then holding his hand up as a card shoots into his hand then playing it while looking of towards the shore. "Ninja of Elements - Dragon Tamer, Light" appeared in front of Kazuya riding on a dragon that was only just covered by the darkness caused by Absorbus. Kazuya then mounted the dragon with Absorbus getting on behind him the dragon hidden in a ball of darkness. "Fly" Kazuya then says calmly as the dragon begins to move through the air towards the shore, however all anyone would see would be the Ball of darkness surrounding it while it moved quickly through the air, the shore getting larger quickly while it moves.

Shin Read the note before walking back to his seat and checking the sky for a giant ball of darkness. "Why is my brother so Predictable?..." Shin asked himself as he leaned back again. The wind brushed Shin's short blond air to the right and it waved across his face a little. Shin was considering if he should use his power in the open like his brother does. "I might atract the wrong kind of attention... I can see it now... 'Wow... cool... Is that a REAL Monster?... YOU HAVE TO DUEL ME!' ... and with my deck not ready I'd say no and they would think I am a terrible duelist... if only I did as my mother told me and kept my last deck that my brother gave me... But that kid I gave it to was so happy..." Shin spoke to himself as he sat up and noticed his brother's usual means of tranportation. The Giant ball of Darkness grew larger as it reached it's destination.

As the shore grows larger under him Kazuya places his hand on the Dragon Tamer, Light card pulling it off of his duel coat when the edge of the shore is directly below him landing just past the edge of the sea, then also taking the traveller's card off making him disappear as he goes back inside his card. He then walked along the beach until he stood under the bottom of the dock, light above the dock being drained away for roughly half of a second before he removed Absorbus from his duel disk and placing it back with his other cards as he unfolds his duel coat so it hangs back out of view. "I guess shin would be up there in the light.. I hate having to go out in it but i should be able to stand having to be in it until i can find shade near him". Kazuya moves out from under the dock stepping up the wooden ramp next to it, seeing a boy sleeping and a girl standing nearby, not paying much attention to them as he continues moving his cloak's hood hiding his face while he walks along the dock towards Shin's chair, seeing him there Kazuya pulls out a small bag from inside his cloak waiting for shin to notice him before throwing it over to him.

Shin looked over to his Brother, seeing Kazuya making his way torwards him felt strange. Shin looked straight up into the sky to see the sun hanging in it. With a confused look on his face, Shin looked over at Kazuya to see that he was holding something. He put his hand out to tell his brother to pass it over. "There you are... Man... I'm starving..." Shin told his brother. "What are you doing out in the day light?... Seriously this is bothering me... and just what is that for?..." Shin mentioned the thing that his brother was holding.

Kazuya threw the bag over to shin as he kept walking, "thats food.. and I needed to check if you still had the deck.. there will be a duel test on the way to the academy.." he says only just loud enough for Shin to hear as he sees a nearby wall, moving past shin quickly and sitting in the shadows watching him, "that and.. I needed to see if you learned how to control it properly yet.." he says quietly while he pulls out the deck of custom made cards he was sent by some of the students who had knew him and had went to Industrial Illusions, pulling one card out of the deck at random while waiting for shin's reply. "if he can't control it properly yet we may need to delay his duel test.. but he probably hasn't used it much yet.." Kazuya pulls back the hood of his cloak slightly showing an 'X' shaped scar on his cheek only just visible while he pulled the hood back to see properly.

Shin snatched the bag of food out of the air and litterally ate it all in a matter of minutes. He leaned back and tried to breath slowly to prevent stomach pains. He almost forgot that his brother was speaking and listened in to hear the last bit about the Deck his brother sent and the duel test. "Craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap!!" Shin said loudly. "I gave the deck away to a poor kid... I thought I had plenty cards and the kid was the only one of his friends without... I am putting together a new deck... but it will take sometime..." Shin said to his older brother with regret showing on his face.

Kazuya looked up at Shin as he pulled the hood of his cloak off watching him, "... well can you control the gift properly yet Shin?" he asks quietly calmly watching him. Kazuya then pulled out a smaller duel disk that used to be his passing it to Shin, "here try this one" he says handing Shin "Little Red - Gift Bearer of the Red" while he watches him. "this way if you can't control it it shouldn't be able to do any damage.. make sure you concentrate remember?" he says quietly pint at the 'X' shaped scar on his cheek while he waits for Shin to take the card and duel disk and try summoning it. "if he cant control it it should be too weak to cause any problems" Kazuya thinks to himself as he watches carefully.

Shin smirked as he took all the things handed to him. He took a deep breath to make Kazuya think that there may be some form of tention. The Process was slow because he wanted to make his brother feel suspense. He slowly lowered the card to the Duel disk and laughed loudly. "I got better at this while you were away brother... This will be easy! I can control this 'Gift' easy now..." Shin explained as the monster came to life infront of everyone else waiting for the Ship. And then with a sigh, Shin released the card and gave the items back to his brother.

Kazuya watched as the monster appeared, watching it carefully just before shin removed it and gave it and the duel disk back "hm.. so you can control it but you are far from mastering it, Shin.." he says as he pulls his duel coat around placing the card on it, it appearing in front of him 3 small red circles appearing above its head as it stands there, "now come out, Avenger" he says softly as he grabbed two more cards from his deck, placing a spell card on his duel coat which was now folded out like a table, as he removes Little Red he places "Little Red Alpha - The Red Avenger" on the monster card zone it was on taking the spell card out which apparently hadn't had any affect on the real world except allowing him to bring out Alpha. Where Little Red - Gift Bearer of the Red was standing it stayed glowing red for a couple of seconds before transforming growing slightly higher and thinner a large black sword appearing in its hands held with it's tip to the ground. "return" he said softly the card disappearing from the real world and returning to the card which was still on the duel coat before he removes it. "you see i can control all it's actions with words, but you couldn't even control the location it appeared could you shin?" he asks calmly before looking up at him. "but you don't really need mastery of it little bro. you jsut need to be able to keep them inside when you play them for now.." he says softly his expression changing slightly to a kinder one before he pulled his hood back on. "I guess i should return to the ship.. they'll be looking for me about now" he says as he puts the custom deck away and pulls out the traveller from his fathers old deck placing it on the Duel coat and stepping with it into a hole appearing in the darkness stepping out on the ship where he had been sitting earlier removing the card and placing it with the others while he folds up his duel coat putting it back behind him where it went unseen the ship closer to shore than he thought it would be by now. "hm.. should only be a few minutes left and we'll be at shore now"

The boy walked up and pulled the card from Louise's hand, muttering something under his breath. In her surprise, it took her a moment to respond. "Huh...err...you're welcome?" she finally said, slightly confused as the boy then lay down and closed his eyes. She sighed at turned back to see someone else had arrived, and was speaking to another boy. The two were summoning monsters, although she couldn't hear why, due to the distance and the sounds around the dock. However, it seemed to be the reason the hooded figure had arrived, since he the disappeared. Louise had been looking the other way, and didn't see him go, but he did get out of sight rather quickly. She was confused for a moment, but annoyance was building. "Where's this ship already?" she complained to no-one in particular.

Shin felt like finding a monster to practice creating for a while. Sitting in his seat, Shin opened his Breif-case and retrieved a card at random with his custom Duel-disk. Placing the card on the duel-disk caused Spirit Wolf Pupp to become a hologram, Shin focused on his gift and brought Spirit Wolf Pupp to life. After Shin summoned The Pupp, he put his Duel-disk away and packed his stuff together. The Pupp walked around a bit and smelled the ground, it followed a scent till it ran into Shin. It looked up at him and barked softly, Its tails were waving around playfully. Shin leaned forward and let the Pupp climb onto his head. It lay on his blond hair as he picked up the rest of his things and headed for the end of the dock. The Pupp barked at Louise when Shin passed her but then looked away to find someone else to bark at. "Any minute now..." Shin said to himself.

The ship then reached the dock stopping as the boarding ramp was lowered, Kazuya sitting at the front end of the boat in the shadow, the hood of his cloak covering his face from view again as it had when he had first arrived on shore earlier. "I guess it's time to check who we have then.. after all i didn't really look at anyone when i saw shin earlier". Kazuya then stands up, walking along the ship in the shadows to the boarding ramp then looking down at the people who were already standing at the Dock waiting. "welcome, everyone coming to the duel academy please board.." he says calmly before stepping back a couple of steps "and can someone please wake him up" he adds quietly noticing the boy sleeping on the dock.

Blood at last arrived at the dock. He took out his deck from his deck box and fan out his cards. Blood made sure that his cards were all set and ready for his new life. While he was about to pack his cards back into his deck box, Blood notice a card and pick it up. He looks around to see if anyone have dropped it anywhere but he couldn't see anyone coming over to claim for it. For some reasons he felt that the card was left on the ground on purpose.

“Oh well I just have to keep you with me till someone claims you back then,” said Blood as he placed the new card together with his deck, “Welcome to our circle, little guy.”

Blood packed his cards back into his box, and headed for the ship which would bring him to Duel Academy that will answer many of his questions.

The boat had at last arrived, and Louise picked up her bags to board, but noticed the boy from before was still asleep. Shaking her head at how anyone could fall asleep in such a place, especially knowing that the boat they were waiting for was coming, she headed over to the boy and, placing her foot underneath him, shook him to wake him up.
"The boat's finally showed up," she told him, not really paying attention to whether the boy was stirring or not, and turning away again and heading for the boat herself, not planning on missing it because some kid couldn't keep his eyes open for five minutes.

Love clamored towards the dock, carrying about twelve cans of paint along with easels, brushes, and her other things. She walked somewhat slowly, but still managed to balance everything in her arms. Occasionally, one of the cans would slip, but she caught it with her foot.
"Ugh, why doesn't anyone give me a hand, huh?" She said loudly, but not yelling. She saw a boy with red hair walking nearby, and so she took the opportunity to drop about half of her load onto him. "Here you go, you can help. I'm in the Sky deck. Don't worry, it's not a far walk." Of course, that was a lie. The Sky deck was on the top level, with about three flights of stairs.

Jake was still on the boat but very eager and ecstatic. "Awesomeness! we are finally going to Duel Academy Island!" Jake didn't exactly pack much merely a toothbrush PJs and some clothes. they were all in his back pack. Jake then saw a girl unload about 75% of her bags onto an unsuspecting boy. "Haha! man you got pwned! need any help?"

Sarah stood on the boat's deck relaxed and nonchalant "*Sniff ahh smell this fresh and crisp air that...IS GREAT DUELING ATMOSPHERE! Ok got my bags..." Sarah was holding a backpack and a rolling pack. "and my hair supplies gotta keep that shine!" Sarah then passes the bag incident oblivious to everyone there.
