Sunbather was pretty much an immediate classic for me, floored me on my first listen. the problem with sunbather is that i wasnt used to the sound when i first listened to it, i had never heard such happy sounding black metal being flooded with such wails of depression, it just didnt sound right at first. anyways brand new are badass, total feels

Sunbather mostly floored me because it had the intensity of black metal, the emotion and passion I feel from screamo albums, and the atmosphere I feel in a lot of shoegaze and post-rock. It was basically the best combination I could ask for haha. Also Brand New is awesome, agreed.

How far are you from Toronto? As for Deftones, Saturday Night Wrist is pretty awesome, aside from a few tracks that I think are pretty forgettable (Pink Cellophane, Mein), though I can't seem to imagine the album without them. Looks like it's just you and I Moog, keeping the thread alive.

All the way down in Nova Scotia, and i dont have a liking for having to stay in transportation for longer than a half an hour, i already did miss out on Protest The Hero, My Bloody Valentine and a couple of other bands in the past couple of months, because they were in Toronto. I cant really imagine Deftones without any of their albums that theyve released As for the thread being filled with only you and I, looking back on previous pages I can only say that this thread gets those sort of phases, just wait a bit and everyone will start to come back again...at some point. Until then this thread should be named "Coral and Moogs Discussion on Hardcore and Metal" because thats basically what its been the past 5 pages. Ouch, that really sucks. Hope you're able to catch some good shows soon. It's the sad truth, but hopefully some more people will join the discussion eventually. Just bought The Saddest Landscape's two most recent albums and a t-shirt from their webstore, the shirt is <
Susie
Ouch, that really sucks. Hope you're able to catch some good shows soon. Earlier this year i was able to catch Rise Against, damn good concert, i dont regret going to it, even though it was on a school night and i had a "concert hangover" afterwards It's the sad truth, but hopefully some more people will join the discussion eventually. It would be nice due to the lack of variation in the posts here. You And I are awesome
Mr.Robot
It's late but whatever, so I'll post these two bands since y'all always on the topic of hardcore nowadays and this being one of post hardcore's classic and nobody seem to care or talk about which is a shame. Anyway, Far is a very poppy, punk-issh and tone centered band (i.e Engine Down, Thursday, Moneen, Sparta, Brand New). Wished I was old enough to go watch them live with Deftones in 2003 or know whenever it was that they had their reunion show. Also, been dusting off these LPS and spinning them again. Forget how much I love them.
