Thanks haha, love that album.

Also, Birds in row was awesome the other night, best performance of the show. The Chariot was pretty good but they were really loud and it was hard to tell what was going on.

I bought some Oathbreaker at the Birds in row merch table, they had a bunch of Deathwish Inc. CDs and vinyl for sale.

I'm not sure what this has to do with the topic on hand, but I'm guessing they're your top 5 bands?

Deicide: always found these guys pretty bland and unenjoyable; however, they did help pioneer the death metal genre, so I have some level of respect for them.

Behemoth: I used to absolutely love Behemoth, but now I only really listen to Sventevith, Grom, and Zos Kia Cultus. The rest tends to bore me after a few tracks.

Immortal: Another band that generally bores me, but a few of their releases are mandatory to listen to at least once, considering they are one of the pioneers of the Norwegian black metal movement.

Graveworm: Scourge of Malice is a symphonic metal masterpiece, but sadly everything else has either been mediocre or bad.

Aeon: Two bands named Aeon come to mind, so I don't really know which one to comment on.

Indeed they did! And I can honestly say it might be the best split I've ever heard. Skagos did two tracks and Panopticon did three, and they're some of the best tracks released from each respective artist.

Deicide: The BEST DEATH METAL BAND, and my favorite band.

Behemoth: I liked the migration of Black Metal to Death Metal, doing most of their albums are good, especially Satanica and The Apostasy.

Immortal: Classis Black Metal. Deserves respect.

Graveworm: I agree about the Scourge of Malice, but the other albums of them are very good, especially Diabolical Figures (if you'll speak of Dimmu Borgir or need: the worst Symphonic Black Metal band I've ever heard!)

Aeon:The music "God Gives Head in Heaven" remember some band?

I also like other bands such as: Satyricon, Sarcofago, Morbid Angel, Vital Remains, Belphegor, Gorgoroth, Vader, Vesania, Marduk, Enslaved, Amon Amarth, Týr, Darkthrone, among others.

We'll just agree to disagree about Deicide.

Zos Kia Cultus was my favorite death metal-oriented Behemoth album.

Immortal has my utmost respect for being one of the bands at the forefront of the Norwegian black metal movement. There are, however, much better bands out there in terms of enjoyability.

Other than Scourge of Malice, Graveworm has done nothing that impresses me. While Scourge of Malice is a masterpiece, I'd still consider Dimmu Borgir a better band overall. Dimmu Borgir has three fantastic albums under their belt—For All Tid, Stormblast (the original), and Enthrone Darkness Triumphant. Spiritual Black Dimensions was solid, Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia was passable. Everything after, however, is generally mediocre and not worth the time it takes to listen.

As for Aeon, that was one of the two that came to mind. Most of their material is a bit generic, but some of it is passable. A lot of it is just blatant Deicide worship, though. It's like Glen Benton hangs out with them when they write their material.

Good to see Vesania mentioned, though. I feel like they're a criminally overlooked band. Firefrost Arcanum and God the Lux were fantastic albums.

Deicide is okay music-wise, but they give a pretty bad image to the metal community imho.

On another note, I find it funny my favorite band, song, and album are all different bands.

Favorite band is Destinity, favorite song is Serenade of Sorrow by Draconian or My Confession/The Haunting by Kamelot, favorite album is Silent Ruins by Isole.

I'll post 1000 more with no shame.

How about some Celeste? Quoting Dismal just because I'm wondering his opinion on this band. I think they're awesome.

I haven't listened to the album that song is from, but I just listened to their new album like two days ago and I thought it was really good. It's not really my usual style, but it was definitely worth the listen.

I've been meaning to give these guys a good listen for a long time, seriously liking their stuff now that I got around to it. I might buy it all in one fell swoop.

A buddy of mine showed me the album a few days ago, otherwise I probably would have never listened to them. :P I might check out more from them now, though.

I just listened to Mortes Nees and it was really good. Apparently they stick with a nearly identical sound with every album, but it's a sound I really like so it doesn't bother me.

I should definitely get on the old school ptw material, sounds like its some real good stuff.

Check out The Opposite of December, it's thought by many to be their best album.

Been on a bit of a skramz binge lately, mostly Loma Prieta and Ampere.

Can you believe there are 15 tracks on this album?

Ah, so then the only thing you haven't listened to is Distance Makes the Heart Grow Fonder. It's pretty good but not quite the quality of everything after. You should definitely check out Versions and The Tropic Rot though.
